Re: Zeon an allegory for japan?
Much like Hitler, once the Zabis obtained power they set about securing supreme executive power their decisions were final, no one could overrule them nor could they be removed from power by democratic process, direct action is required either by military coup, civil revolt, or assassination (Char's...

Re: lack of discipline in the gundam series
You have to remember in Gundam most of time the crew are made of civilians that forcibly drafted into service due to casualties among the actual military personnel stationed on board, the replacements only have the technical competence to handle their assigned tasks but none of the regimented discip...

Re: Next Gundam series
So he's back with dreams of a mega crossover the likes of Super Robot Wars (he's starting to remind me of another guy like this on another forum I frequent). Look, outside of video games or fanfiction this is never going to happen, LET IT GO . Baseless speculation is also a waste of time, Sunrise wi...

Re: Gundam series based off of Mass Effect
That thread was locked for thread necromancy, as far as this idea goes I say no remaking Gundam into a Mass Effect clone is not the way to go. Setting a Gundam series in a galaxy spanning space opera like Mass Effect though would be nice though, but this idea is purely fanfiction fodder, a amusing f...

Re: Ep. 114 - Enter the Spunky Dragon!
Speaking of Top Gear crossovers, there is this one. http://www.eyrie-productions.com/UF/FI/SOS/roadfilm.html It has them fighting in Battle Mechs, in typical Top Gear fashion. One that would also be fun is Full Metal Panic/Metal Gear Solid. A friend of mine and I even thought how it come about: Sous...

Re: Ep. 023: The Foundation Trilogy
I recommend starting with the first three novels, if you want to read the later novels at least try Prelude To Foundation as it is a good prequel. Reading the later books is only if you want to read more about the universe. As for the non Asimov novels, read them only if you are curious of how other...

Re: SF Debris
Love his reviews, I especially love his Star Trek series reviews and his alternate character interpretations like overbearing tyrant Janeway, badass Sisko, insane Archer. I particularly liked his analysis of the Prime Directive and how horribly misapplied it is.

Re: What do you guys think of this table?
Turn A isn't impossible imo. Where would you place it? Should I make strength and realism numbered rather than with words? It would not matter, without an accurate baseline for comparison any conclusions you draw are arbitrary. You could make comparisons of some of the technologies or abilities of ...

I had a problem with the game sometimes freezing during loading screen while on the Citadel, then I downloaded a patch and never had that problem since. You may want to check if you have the newest update installed.

Re: Gundam Seed Decade
Reading your summary tells me that even if this were fleshed out into a story, it will be a very boring one. I'm sorry but none of this feels like a Gundam story, it sounds like a generic high school drama that just happens to have Gundams in it. The characters are like the kind that people churn ou...

Re: Ep. 106 - The Brave and the Butthurt
At this year's Otakon I attended the screening for Gundam Unicorn episode 5, afterward there was a Q&A session with Shin Sasaki of Sunrise, Tetsuya Kakihara, and Micheal Sinterniklaas who both voiced Angelo Sauper. It was explained that the little bow after Angelo's moment of pwnage was not in t...

IIRC, the Tachikoma became the first AI to display signs of developing their own ghosts or consciousness. In the series it's thought that when Batou started giving his personal unit natural oil, it dissolved the proteins in its neurochips causing erratic behaviors which spread when its data is synch...

Re: Ep 030: Brave & The Sprawl Trilogy
A while back I found a BBC radio play based on Neuromancer, http://www.sffaudio.com/?p=32178 the production isn't bad though some of the performances were a bit off Armitage, for example tends to sound more like a car salesman than a former soldier and the southern accent is a bit forced, more like ...

Re: Infinite Ryvius
Only question I have is: What exactly did those girls do to Kouze? I'm assuming that wounded her back or torso, but by cutting it or bruising it, maybe? I think all they did was beat her in the shower, I don't think it was any worse than that but it was enough to have an impact on her, she became l...

Re: Infinite Ryvius
The show does start to pick after that point, that's when they into some serious character development which really carries the show. The space battles begin around then and Ryvius is one of the few shows that tries to depict space warfare realistically. The show starts to play out like a lighter ve...
