Re: Help with finding a star trek episode.

I'm going through the episode summaries and quotes on memory alpha. It is taking quite a bit of time, but I'm still looking. I'm actually looking for the quote for an essay. Thanks for the help.

Help with finding a star trek episode.

There is a particular episode from the original series where kirk beamed down to a planet and the crew loses him. I remember sulu and spock on the bridge talking about how to find kirk. Spock told sulu to scan the entire planet sector by sector for kirk and sulu then complained that something like t...

Re: OYW MS Production Rate

Most of the Kämpfer's parts were already built. The only thing the Cyclops Team needed to do was assemble it. So it should take maybe a few or a week to assemble the parts, but I don't know how long it takes to make the parts. In Zeta gundam there is a picture of a few mobile suits in a bay of some ...

Re: Freedom's ability to break atmosphere

I'm assuming that the center of mass in the freedom is somewhere in the chest. Since the wings are right behind the chest and if the freedom was flying parallel to the ground and assuming the wings are similar in concept to the wings on an airplane then it will provide lift when moving forward. Kira...

Re: Idiot's guide to Carbon Nanotubes

Having the entire armor made out of carbon fiber and using nanobots to manipulate the suit would be impractical. Plus actual carbon fiber is a very thin and strong fiber composed of carbon. So you would have to weave a fabric like layer of armor and I suppose you could use nanobots to move that, but...

Re: SEED: Pilot suits causing high Natural casualties?

Well I really don't know much about G-dampening, but has anyone considered the build of the mobile suit is intended to dampen most of the Gs to a tolerable level?

Re: Idiot's guide to Carbon Nanotubes

That would be pretty intense to have entire limbs be made of only 1 molecule. Weren't some of the suits in Gundam 00 use carbon fiber as part of their suits? I'm pretty sure the tech guy from Celestial Being said the blades on the Exia were so sharp that they could pierce carbon fiber. If so then it...

Re: Question about Zeta's final battle

I think biosensors can be affected by a powerful newtype even if he or she isn't in the cockpit. Four was able to summon the Psycho Gundam with her newtype powers because the Psycho Gundam had a psychommu system. Also, in Char's Counterattack the combined will of all the people pushing Axis overload...

Underground bases

In Gundam underground bases or island fortresses are very popular i.e. Heaven's Base, the Zeon base in the 08th MS team, Jaburo, and many others. Giniase's base and Jaburo seemed to take advantage of caves and volcanoes and were pretty practical. Having giant hanger doors open in the ground to revea...

Re: Variable Suit Cockpits

I'm not sure if it applies to the Zeta, but by that time most cockpits were in ejectable spheres that housed the cockpit and acted as an escape pod. The whole sphere was probably turned to make it face forward. Also, could we look to gundam evolve for some factual information? I'm not sure how canon...

The metal storm looks like it uses up ammunition very fast and with its special firing mechanism how does it reload?

Re: Which category of anime goers are you?

For live action movies even non-anime related I prefer subs because first it is hard to synch mouth movements with a different language when dubbing and second it sounds better with the original actors. When I think about it I can't think of any dubbed live action movies or shows. I think my Spanish...

Re: How much would building a Death Star cost?

Well there was a force field around the Death Star II so that flying into the hole while the force field is up would destroy the ship. But why they didn't do it when the field went down puzzles me.

Re: How much would building a Death Star cost?

Could you save money by converting an actual moon into a Death Star? It would save money and time on starting the basic frame and there would be a decent amount of raw material to start with.

Re: Gundam Pilots and Their SpaceSuits

I always thought a pilot suit would be more expensive because it would take more money to create a suit that has all the main functions as a normal suit, but smaller and more maneuverable.

Re: Which category of anime goers are you?

It depends on the dub. Some dubs have such poor actor choices that I sometimes cringe when someone speaks and the way they say the dialog just sounds insincere at times. Subs are good because they portray the original intent of the dialog better, but force me to miss some things by reading the subti...

Re: Gundam Pilots and Their SpaceSuits

All of us seem to have forgotten the Immortal Colasour who should have died several times, but due to some unknown force he has survived countless times. In Zeta Gundam the pilot suits had plugs in the back to attach a vernier thing to allow the pilot to maneuver in space. And I remember Astonaige u...

I sense the coming of skynet!

All jokes aside this is a highly formidable weapon. The fact that it can fire so many bullets at once with such great force is amazing and unsettling at the same time.

Wouldn't Knightmares from Code Geass be better suited for crowd control? Mobile suits seem to large for something like this.

Re: Another concept: Mobile suits run by anti-matter

Something as powerful as antimatter would be suited for powering ships and colonies. A single mobile suit couldn't possibly use all the energy from an anti-matter generator. Possibly battery powered or suits with large capacitors could be charged up in a ship by an anti-matter generator. That might ...
