really bad news

http://www.destructoid.com/we-tried-to-get-konami-to-comment-on-kojima-s-departure-289369.phtml There's been a massive fallout between Konami and Kojima Productions, it seems to have something to do with the need by Konami to consolidate and shift its production system to a more headquarters control...

Re: Winter 2015 Anime

Right now I'm keeping up with pretty much just continuations of Fall 2014 anime: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders Aldnoah.Zero Garo: Honoo no Kokuin Curious why Garo isn't listed there, since it is still airing right now. My guess is that the skip between seasons was not that long in com...

Re: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders

It's not a bad thing that Phantom Blood was written the way it was, (I enjoyed it) but I would think it's a hard sell to people who are not really big fans of simple 80s styled shounen stories. Otherwise, they would love Hokuto no Ken for more than just Kenshiro punching people and yelling a lot. It...

Re: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders

I've read random bits and pieces of the manga, and I've watched the entire series starting from Phantom Blood (the very first story arc) onwards and parts of the 90s OVA. Somehow I didn't enjoy the 90s OVA as much. Everything from Battle Tendency onwards, though, is pretty much mandatory watching fo...

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders

Has anyone kept up with this anime?

The second season is airing now every Friday I think, they're already up to Episode 3. The second season covers everything from Iggy and N'Doul all the way up to DIO's World.

Re: Aldnoah Zero Thread

Since this thread is still here, think we can compile a list of every single real world equipment/weapon that was used in Aldnoah S1? I was just gonna ask about the grenade launchers in episode 3, but might as well do it for every single possible instance. This is as much as I know: F-22 Raptors wer...

Re: Aldnoah Zero Thread

wielder: Good counterpoints. There are still enough differences to distinguish Inaho from Chirico, and it's still too early in Aldnoah's story and the characters aren't fleshed out enough for the parallels to be particularly strong and obvious. Just as a side note, I do realize Chirico did actually ...

Re: Aldnoah Zero Thread

Some parallels, it's not like Aldnoah is a direct copy of VOTOMS or Layzner. More like Gen Urobuchi is a huge fan of 80s mecha anime. The way Inaho behaves is very similar to Chirico. Like Chirico, he barely has any facial expressions, always comes up with some sort of plan for dealing with difficul...

Re: Aldnoah Zero Thread

I've been watching Aldnoah Zero, too. I've seen up to episode 11 now, though I don't have anything to say in terms of spoilers yet. Having come fresh from watching virtually the entirety of Chirico-related VOTOMS, I like what I've seen so far and I really like the soundtrack for it. Given the atmos...

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

You mean this? In summary, what else is new: Ocelot will be your main radio contact instead of Kazuhira Miller, though Miller will return. Ocelot's likeness (at least from what I can see) and voice is that of Troy Baker, the voice actor of Kanji Tatsumi in Persona 4 and Booker DeWitt in Bioshock In...

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I'm surprised. It's been a while but no one has ever brought up Metal Gear Solid V here for some reason. Here's what you guys missed out on: The game expands upon Peace Walker's base management system. Unlike past Metal Gear games, it will be open world and you will be free to tackle missions any wa...

Re: EX Troopers demo coming soon.

Didn't do so well? That's too bad, considering it was apparently rather well received.

I've been thinking of picking this up myself for the PS3. Haven't had a lot of faith in supporting Capcom recently, though.

Re: What's Your Latest Game? Mk III

Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy. aka Ace Combat 3D: Cross Rumble. It's a much better game than the console Assault Horizon, though it has its own share of problems (i.e. you can't reconfigure the controls). Unlike Assault Horizon though, you don't need to ever use automated maneuvers; there's eve...

not transfarring enabled

The games are playable from start to finish with no real problems, if that's what you mean. The PS3 version runs at 30-40 fps on average, the 360 version runs at about 35-50 fps. The 360 version generally runs better than the PS3 version. Both versions have some rare bouts of 50-60 fps, but it's usu...

Re: EX Troopers demo coming soon.

Based on Capcom's current attitude towards the Western market with treatment of titles like Resident Evil 6 and the upcoming Lost Planet 3, it's highly unlikely (if at all) that EX Troopers will ever be localized by them. EX Troopers was designed with a Japanese audience in mind, and Capcom is more ...

Welcome to NEVEC High

If anyone wants to know what this game looks like, I recorded some videos: Trial Mission 1 (multiplayer) Trial Mission 1 (solo) Trial Mission 2 (multiplayer) It's an anime-themed spinoff of Lost Planet that presumably takes place in the same universe, because there are Snow Pirates, Akrid, and you b...

Re: Persona 4: The Ultimate In Mayonaka Arena *spoilers*

Does anyone wanna set up an 8-man lobby on PSN any time soon? It would be nice if at least more than two of us here have P4A.
Not exactly relevant but I also have Gundam Extreme VS (and I am not very good at it, but eh) so we could run a party that alternates between both games...?

I was playing the Japanese version of PSO2 up until I got Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena... I have a Human Hunter on Ship 2, if anyone is interested in playing on the Japanese side. I might also make a character on the localized side too, but I'm more inclined to invest time and money on ...

Re: Armored Core V

I kind of got bored with the game primarily due to the lack of parts. (i.e. Add Boosters) A lot of the DLC (I'm assuming Japanese only, maybe I'll check and verify this) I saw was just stuff like classic Armored Core emblems, uniquely painted parts with not much more than cosmetic differences, and n...
