Wing RPG Voting Poll

Alright folks, this is the final step. You can see who created the RPG, and in some cases, the title of the RPG. Simple vote for whoevers idea you like the most. Please, do not post who you voted for.

The descriptions of each RPG will be posted by me below, so you can look them over.

Like all the other polls, this one has no set end date. It will run at least until next Sunday, but may run longer if needed.

Here is the first RPG story for you to look at. This one is by Heretic and is the first choice in the poll.

Andorra under OZ

AC 214-ish (still not sure on what the exact date should be.)

Mariemaia Khushrenada and Lady Une disappeared from public awareness and are believed to be living under assumed names.

The sons and daughters of OZ’s elite members have all come of age. Wanting to restore the glory of the aristocratic organization, many of them begin meeting in secret. Their leader is charismatic and has convinced this new generation of OZ that they must make a show of military power in order to be recognized by the ESUN. To do this they enlisted the help of a private army and secretly built a small MS Corps.

Because MS have been banned for nearly a decade, the technology hasn’t advanced significantly. Rather than design and build new models of MS, the revived OZ is using older designed to produce slightly upgraded versions of Leos, Aries, Taurus etc.

With this force, OZ occupied the small European country of Andorra.

Because of the rouged terrain and the relative unimportance of this small nation, the ESUN chose to allow OZ’s occupation of Andorra, rather than send a force to oust them. So long as no international laws were violated OZ could continue to occupy the country as the legitimate government. This gave OZ the authority to once again act openly on the world stage. With this legitimacy, OZ has purchased a resource laden asteroid and set up mining and shipyard operations.

Some in the Preventer intelligence agency suspect that OZ has a larger plan with sinister intentions, but the ESUN will not authorize any Preventer intervention without solid evidence.

To this end, a small covert Preventer force (With MS) will get into Andorra and gather as much information as possible. As well as secure the means to infiltrate OZ’s asteroid facility.

Here is the second RPG story for you to look at. This one was created by Psyden and is the second choice in the poll.

===============================================

"Return to War" or "Rise of the Foundations".

In the years following the conclusion of the Eve Wars, mobile suits disappear from the battlefield, unfortunately, they fail to take war with it. In the wake of the Mariemaia Invasion, independent countries, no longer content to let their fates rest in the hands of the Preventers, an organization who failed to stop the Mariemaia Invasion and who only succeeded because the Gundams intervened and whose main weapons, mobile suits, banned by international law, begin building new militaries under the label of “Self-Defense Forces.” These new military hard-wares are conventional style weapons, or at least their base is. Even though mobile suits have all but vanished from the public eye, their technologies did not. Now, instead of projectile cannons, tanks fire beam- and laser-based weapons. Now, entire squadrons of fighters are controlled by a single person on the group using a modified Zero System and an off-shoot of the Mobile Doll AI. Now, battleships fire powerful beam cannons and use large Planetary Defensors as well as armor. Some of these Self-Defense Forces are legitimate, but some are built for waging wars on their neighbors. As numerous “Military Conflicts” (since no one wants to admit what it really is, for fear of bringing in the wrath of the ESUN Government) spread across the globe, the Preventers find themselves stretched too thin and without the proper equipment to quell the fighting. Seizing upon this opportunity, various groups, operating outside the ESUN laws, begin using mobile suits for their own means. Many of these suits are Leos which were scavenged, rebuilt, or purchased over the Black Market. Other suits have been in hiding, waiting to be used when the Preventers’ attention is drawn. And even though the bulk of these units are Leos; Aries, Tragos, Taurus, and even Virgo and Virgo II Mobile Dolls are used. Soon these renegade MS are seen as a plague upon the Earth Sphere. The Leo, the weakest of these suits, were built to combat conventional weaponry, and though the tanks and planes have changed, the Leo still proves to be their superior. It AC 204, the ESUN finally steps in, applying economic pressure on the warring nations, bringing about quick resolutions. The Preventers are finally turned lose upon these rogue elements, though without mobile suits of their own, the results are mixed. It isn’t until 214, a decade after they started, that the Preventers are able to bring the rogue factions using Mobile Suits under some sort of control. With the introduction of their Anti-Mobile Suit Gunships (or AMSGS), which are highly modified OZ Transport Planes, the rebels and the like finally stop making daring raids on cities, though the Preventers lack the numbers and funding to crush them completely, which is seen as a failure in the Public Eye.

The Preventers aren’t the only ones who are keeping busy. The Romefeller and the Barton Foundations, both thought to be disbanded and each responsible for one of the Eve Wars, begin amassing their forces anew. Much of the assemble takes place in fully automated plants, like Volcanus. Both Foundations were close to conquest of the Earth Sphere during their little war, but failed to do so because of the Gundams. Some still find it hard to imaging how 5 teens in MS could over throw their carefully crafted plans. But times are different. The Gundams have all been Self-Detonated, their pilots middle-aged, and the ESUN lacks any mobile suits. And there is another advantage that the Foundations share. They are building armies for a war they know is coming, and the ESUN does not, and they are doing it together. The Romefeller Foundation will get Earth, and the Barton Foundation will get the Colonies and the Moon, or at least that is the agreement, but both sides are too ambitious to allow to allow the other to control effectively half of the Earth Sphere, and the other knows it.

Lady Une, former OZ second-in-command, foresees that someone will use Mobile Suits to try to conquer the Earth Sphere again. She does not know who, since both Foundations have been disbanded, but someone will see the power of MS and use them, regardless of the laws. After all, if you are in power, then you can legitimize your means of attaining it. So, instead of waiting to be conquered, she takes the Preventers’ Taurus’, along with the Serpents from the Mariemaia Army. But that’s not all, she also collected the remains of the Gundams, including Wing and Epyon, and rebuilt them. The Gundams that were Self-Detonated at the end of the Eve Wars are the easiest to rebuilt, since the Gundams are notorious for having inadequate self-destruct mechanisms. Wing is a bit more of a challenge, since the wings and limbs, along with much of the external armor needing replacing. Epyon is almost just as bad, though both suits, along with the others are eventually fully repaired. In its process of collecting mobile suits, the Preventers come across a cache of Romefeller’s copy cat Gundams, which are seized as well and stored in Volcanus, which is known to the rest of the Earth Sphere as the Resource Disposal Block, which serves as a memorial to the Second Eve War. Not one to put all her Eggs in one basket, Lady Une scatters her secret mobile suit army throughout the Earth Sphere, hiding them in warehouses or at various locations that were once OZ bases. In AC 210, Lady Une steps down as Leader of the Preventers. 21 year-old Mariemaia Khushrenada, her adopted daughter, raises up to take her place. She, too, believes that she must be ready for a war that the rest of the Earth Sphere deems impossible, though she has little to work with. Most of the experienced pilots are all beginning to retire due to old age or since they no longer believe mobile suits are a threat, leaving her with only a handful of pilots, many of them never having actually seen a mobile suit for themselves, let alone ever piloting them, since that last thing someone trying to hide an army of mobile suits wants to do is to allow inexperienced pilots to take them out to run around. Instead, her pilots are simulator jocks. Though the pilots no longer will fight in mobile suits, many of their children are drawn to the Preventers in hopes of following in their parent’s foot steps.

In AC 217, on the 20th Anniversary of the Eve Wars, the Foundations make their move…

Here is the third RPG story for you to choose from. This one was created by Valles, is the third choice in the poll, and has no title yet.

===============================================

AC 195 - Eve Wars (Gundam Wing)

AC 198 - A series of strikes and riots leads ESUN to thoroughly review labor laws and crack down on violators. Many of those most affected are former members of the defunct Romefeller Foundation. When evidence is found indicating that one of the primary investigators in this issue was falsifying evidence as part of a personal grudge, many of the altered laws are relaxed.

AC 199 - The assassination of noted industrialist John Ludendorff caps a wave of rising violence triggered by a moderate economic depression and the working classes' perception that its effect on their lives was due to the resolution - or lack thereof - of the labor disputes of the preceding year and Romefeller interests' attempts to exploit them. After several months of rising tensions and an attempt on the life of her son, Ludendorff's widow, Quindici, attempts to take her family out of any assassin's reach by moving them to their most distant property, an asteroid mining base on 3 Juno; over the next four years, many of her extended family and closer friends will follow.

AC 203 - The election of populist candidate Marko Xhosa to the office of President calms many of the internal class tensions of ESUN, but the depression continues and all contact with 3 Juno is cut off.

AC 207 - A fleet of automated warships and mobile dolls arrives in Earth's local space, under the command of what one waggish editorial dubbed, in AC 202, 'The Ludendorff Cabal'. President Xhosa's election had convinced Lady Quindici that 'Leveling' forces represented a clear and present danger not merely to her fellow aristocrats but to society as a whole, and she had used the resources of the asteroid belt and her followers' technical expertise to do something about it... -before- things came to the worst. The hidden, hoarded weapons of ESUN's member nations last only a few days before the Cabal is - apparently - in total control of essentially the entire Earth Sphere.

AC 209 - Operation Shooting Star; NOW

The reasoning behind Operation Shooting Star is simple - the entire Earth Sphere is now in many ways in the same position that the colonies were prior to Operation Meteor, and that the problem can be responded to in the same way. After all, a few - or not so few, given the scale of this war - Gundams or other high performance designs are a lot easier to hide than a conventional army of mobile suits. Now that the suits are complete, they're being dispatched in squads of varying size to destroy the Cabal's resourcing and production facilities, since the rate of production they could achieve unmolested would otherwise overwhelm even the most skilled pilots in the most powerful machines Earth and the Colonies could field.

The Cabal has a few factories and mines on Earth itself, but most of their operations are elsewhere; the major mines - in order of size/importance - are on 3 Juno, 4 Vesta, Mercury, Mars, and Io. Factories are put wherever convenient, and moved when neccessary. ESUN thinks that the Cabal's headquarters and civilian population center is 3 Juno, and has ruled out a strike there until the Cabal has been decisively weakened. 4 Vesta is a fortress, and will wipe out anything short of an entire fleet, but most of the PCs are part of one of the three squads of the ESUN strike force sent against (location to be decided by vote). Up to five more PCs are the human combat staff of the Cabal military base assigned to defend that squad's target area of operations.

ESUN's equipment will consist of upgraded OZ or Maguanac designs, downgraded Gundam clones, or even repurposed and rebuilt Cabal units; since each suit was produced basically by hand by an isolated group, their abilities, designs, origins, and philosophies can vary widely, as can their pilots', although the power level of both will have to be tuned according to the size of the group.

The only mobile suit the Cabal fields in any numbers is the JS-1 Herzog, the base configuration of which would probably be an equal match for any of the original five Gundams, assuming equal pilots. OTOH, these suits are pretty much -always- customized according to the individual tastes of their owners, and can vary widely in performance and effectiveness - usually upwards. Fortunately, their pilots aren't gundam-grade...

The Cabal's nature as a small group of former Romefeller members gives them both means and motive to try and sway various ex-OZ troops in the ESUN ranks to their cause - they can use fellow feeling from their common origins and the 'bait' of a ranking place in the new order, and they will try to do so because they're in perpetual need of field commanders and low-ranking officers. This would mean that any given agent in place, infiltrated into the ESUN forces, would be worth many times more as a recruiter than he would on the battlefield. Many of their tactical operations will be seemingly nonsensical or unprovoked from the strategic standpoint, unless you know that they were really carried out as demonstrations to persuade a wavering prospect or to hush up a given soldier who'd found out too much about a recruiter. Of course, just as many -are- purely military, and likely commanded by a different officer.

A Cabal factory, assuming that it's properly supplied, can produce up to a dozen mobile dolls in a day; the Area of Operations has about a dozen factories and about the same number of mines, each with a defensive garrison of - at the start of the RP - about fifty dolls.

The JA-1 Ritter is cannon fodder, and should represent at least three quarters of the Cabal units on the field. It's equipped with a beam rifle, a short sword, and four planet defensors (stored on the front and back sides of the shoulderguards), and isn't particularly fast or sturdy.

The JA-2 Edler is basically an upgraded Ritter; it has the same standard equipment but calf mounted thrusters like the Nu or Strike's and shoulder pods modeled after the Tallgeese - it comes out as being about twice as fast as the latter.

The JA-3 Graf is a melee specialist, focused on agility. It has a 'bar type' thruster backpack like the space Leo's, a low-power beam weapon mounted in the chest, and comes standard with the usual four defensors and a pair of arm-length swords.

The JA-4 Herr is the only Cabal mobile doll -not- based on the Ritter; instead, it's a downgraded and automated variation on the Herzog. It has titanium armor rather than gundanium and has lost the Tallgeese-style thruster pods, but carries six planet defensors in 'wings' on its back and a Virgo-style beam cannon on either arm.

There's a lot of wrangling going on within the two factions, too - the Cabal is just as much of a snakepit as its predecessor organization was, with each and every commander competing for favor and prestige in the eyes of the leadership, climbing up over each other and pulling out from under like a bucket of crabs. There are noticable themes that show up - altruistic desire to set up a perfect state, personal revenge, loyalty to friends or family, etc. - but their membership is small enough that personality politics are by far the dominant type.

ESUN is a little more organized, at least in that it's got two real factions rather than being every man for himself - basically, there are the Militarists, former OZ or other soldiers who, while conceding pacifism as a laudable goal, feel a measure of military preparedness is neccessary for the greater good (and that, needless to say, they're the ones best suited for staying prepared), and the Pacifists, mostly former civilians who are willing to fight when the circumstances come to them - as they have - but plan to beat their swords back into plowshares at the first available opportunity. The Pacifists have the backing and support that comes with matching their government's official and unofficial stance, but the Militarists have an advantage too - they have all the skilled soldiers, the ace pilots and the veterans and the others, and, in short, the Pacifists need them if they want to win.

Depending on the environment, there will also be additional challenges - the short period of Mercury's orbit would mean relatively frequent transit windows for supplies or support shipped from Earth by either side, Mars is inhabited and the colonists have equipment that can be converted into war machines and are -not- happy to have these people fighting in their backyard and mucking up the terraforming effort, and Io is like a combination of Iceland and Mt. St. Helens, only less sedate.

This is the fourth RPG idea that was submitted for you to look over. This is the fourth choice in the poll and was created by betupa. It has no title.

===============================================

It is the lack of fertile ground on earth that forced the move. There was fear for food crisis during AC 440s. Also, the lack of any more resources ON earth made the Government plan the move since the planet is simply worn out. Resources in space is still plentiful, but the colonies had 'generously' took most of the more plentiful resource satelites along with them, leaving either those too dangerous or semi-depleted satelites behind.

The preventors are literally not funded at all. About 0.025% of the earth sphere annual budget goes to them, and it is barely enough to maintain the antiques (which are built more than 200 years ago) mobile suits and give the staff a decent pay. Up-to-date fusion reactors and other new equipment are acquired via connections and stock inventory.

Regarding the question why there is no branch on Earth. Well in EW we know that the preventors are an extremely small group which are barely able to quell conflicts due to the ability of the agents. Here their numbers have increased for sure, but the fact remains that these preventors are just a bunch of lazy people which along with the vast majority of the population simply have no idea what war is. The leader of the preventors knew that no one would be willing to stay behind on Earth to keep watch over the Abandoned, and simply didn't suggest it. Low morale is everyday mood of the preventors.

Right now the starting characters of the preventor force is like the standard kid which meets a gundam, but trained and will easily become the hardened warriors they are supposed to be once they are involved in war and learn the hard truth.
Available MS: Gundam Heavyarms MP , Gundam Deathscythe MP, Wing Gundam MP,Altron Gundam MP, Gundam Sandrock MP(with EW-size shotels and all weaponry featured in the anime)
MS that will be included during the story: Wing Zero, Tallgeese IV(it is just Tallgeese III with a light weight dober gun for more all purpose usage),

Neo OZ soldiers are mostly youths which have mastered the usage of their refurbished mobile suits. They lack the expert training of the preventors, but make up with passion(something the preventors completely lack at the beginning) and numbers.
Available MS: Leo (not the throw-a-stick-at-it-and-it-will-blow-up Leo, for reference it will be similar in performance to one Heero steals which matched up against Altron) souped up as described in my previous post, Taurus (toughened up similarly, quality is as the Mobile Doll version)
Ms that will be included during the story: Serpent,Virgo,Tallgeese MP.

This is the fifth RPG idea. It was created by EZero8 and is the fifth choice in the poll.

===============================================

Chaos 195
It is a few months into AC 195. The battle between the United Earth Sphere Alliance and the Colonies has escalated with the deployment of the 5 Gundams and the launch of Operation Meteor. The Specials (otherwise known as OZ) have been deployed to fight the sprouting Guerilla Forces all over the Earth Sphere and space. The Gundams have managed to cripple many of OZ's bases, but with the production of the Taurus mobile suit just beginning, OZ is about to gain a technological advantage against these scattered guerilla forces. However, a dark cloud hangs over OZ, as events happening behind the scenes are giving birth to an even bigger threat to the Earth Sphere.

The focus of the RPG will be on an OZ Taskforce sent out to hunt down Guerillas and eliminate them. The Maganac Corps is allied with the Guerilla Forces, and White Fang will appear towards the end made up of defectors from both sides. Here is a list of MS I'm planning on having for sure:

OZ:
Ground Arc:
OZ-06MS Leo (40 units)
OZ-07AMS Aries (10 units)
OZ-07MS Tragos (5 units)

Space Arc:
OZ-06SMS Leo (40 units)
OZ-12SMS Taurus (will be available midway through the RPG, Quantity TBD)
OZ Shuttle (holds 4 Leo’s; 7 units)
Taurus Cruiser (holds 3 Taurus’s; Quantity TBD)

United Earth Sphere Alliance:
OZ-06MS Leo (30 units)
OZ-07AMS Aries (5 units)
OZ-07MS Tragos (5 units)

Guerilla Forces:
Ground Arc:
OZ-06MS Leo (30 units)
OZ-07SMS Aries (5 units)
OZ-12SMS Taurus (will be available midway though the RPG; Quantity TBD)
MS Transport Trucks (holds 2 Leo’s; 10 units)

Space Arc:
OZ-06SMS Leo (40 units)
OZ-12SMS Taurus (will be available midway though the RPG; Quantity TBD)
Civilian Shuttles (holds 2 Leo’s or 1 Taurus; 15 units)

Maganac Corps (Ground):
WMS-03 Maganac (20 units)
WMS-04 Olifant (5 units)

White Fang (Space Only?):
WF-12SMS Taurus (Quantity TBD)

This is the sixth and final RPG idea, and this one comes from Gambit01. Naturally, it is the last choice in the poll.

===============================================

The Enlightened

It's been a hundred years since the Operation Meteor and the events thereafter. The Preventers have become something more or less of a political embarressment and seen as mere alarmists. They're slowly being shunted away, and soon they may do away with them all together.

A group of Preventers, led by a hero who stopped a terrorist orginization decades ago, have fled from the Earth sphere, reviving the hated mobile suits and seizing control of several resource colonies and even a newly built lunar city. The weaponless civilians were powerless to stop the rogue Preventers, now calling themselves the Enlightened, even if the equipment they used was all but obsolete. They immediately began reproducing "newer" mobile suits that were merely upgraded copies of OZ's originals, able to boast of better armor, slightly faster thrusters and not much else. They are also recruiting young, inexperienced colonists under the name, 'Disciples', more for man-power obviously rather then skill.

In short, they began to prepare for war.

The ESUN suddenly see the Preventers as their greatest asset, and now they began to produce mobile suits of their own, strictly for the Preventers' use of course.

The Preventers set up a task force to go to space and try and take back the lunar city, while at the same time infiltrating the colonies and trying to find out the Enlightened's true goals. The Preventers are reluctant to take on this mission, for in addition to the fact that most of the experienced Preventers have defected to to the Enlightened, they also know that whether they successfully stop the Enlightened or not....

Mobile Suits are back. Possibly to stay. They might have already lost.

I would like to know something before voting. Are there any stats for the mass procution versions of the Gundams?
Thundermuffin's TEGSD: MEYRIN: Ma’am! The Archangel has arrived and launched a giant, man-shaped robot at us! Likelihood of it being a mobile-suit… (Meyrin does some quick calculations on her console)…ninety-nine point eight percent!

There are no stats listed for the Mass Production Gundams from Tiel's Impluse. However, I believe they have similar, if not the same, performance as the real versions. Of course, thats just a guess on my part and it would be up to the game master of the RPG to figure out their performance.

OZ-13MSX3 Arreton

The OZ-13MSX3 Arreton was a combination of the Vayeate and Mercurius, with both significant offensive, and defensive capabilities. To save costs on what was to be a mass-produced unit, the beam cannon was smaller, and fewer Planet Defensors were kept on the design. Also, the Planet Defensors, and the beam cannon's reactor, were stored in large domes on top of the unit's shoulders, rather than on its back, in order to help distribute the unit's mass more toward its center. (Two normal beam sabers were housed on the back racks, instead.)

However, the Arreton was never constructed; the creation of mobile dolls significantly changed the project. Without the need for a pilot, a unit could be manufactured cheaper, put into service quicker, and OZ didn't need to spend the money to train, feed, clothe, and house its human pilot. With that thought, the cockpit was removed from the Arreton's design, and after a few other alterations, the unit became the OZ-02MD Virgo Mobile Doll.

Alright folks, I know it's early, but due to the fact that the poll standings haven't changed much in the past few days, I'm ending it now.

The winning RPG is Andorra Under OZ, by Heretic. He may post sign up and discussion threads for this RPG.

And this poll is now closed.
I must betray Stalindog!!!
