Gr3gSolidus:
Hello, I and a few like minded people from the Gundam Extreme Vs board are trying to gauge community interest in a "campaign" of sorts that would hopefully result in the overseas release of the game's eventual console port. The idea arose from the lack of major Gundam releases besides Dynasty Warrios:Gundam for the past five years and the belief that Namco Bandai does not see a market for the games here. Before I go into the details it would be better to tell you what the game actually is for those who don't know about the series or haven't imported recent entries.
Gundam Extreme Vs is a two on two arcade fighter featuring Mobile Suits from a multitude of Gundam universes. At the beginning of a match each player chooses a Mobile Suit that is ranked at 1000,2000,2500,or 3000 points and each team is given a 6000 point life bar. Each time a unit is destroyed its cost is subtracted from its team life bar, when it hits zero you lose and if a unit costs more than what is remaining in the teams health bar it suffers an HP loss as soon as it spawns. The cost system adds an interesting meta game to combat where selecting less costly suits like the Gouf Custom and Zudah allow you to be more daring in your attacks since they are both worth 1000 while choosing a 3000 suit like the Master Gundam or Strike Freedom will give you a general edge in power but this is mitigated by the steep cost of failure. Between this and more traditional mechanics like the "Extreme Action" system which functions as a dodge but doubles as a step cancel and the "EX Burst" which can either be used to initiate a special attack or a super mode of sorts, EXVS is a easy to learn but hard to master fighter created by Capcom. That right, the same people who made Street Fighter IV and Marvel vs. Capcom 3 made this game. Isn't that a confidence booster? Now that I've put things into context here are a few gameplay videos.

The details of the "campaign" are simple. We believe that after multiple failed releases of admittedly poorly made Gundam games Bamco has written offAmericaas a loss due to a lack of interest instead of a lack of quality. While the Gundam community may not be huge it is still more than a viable market and a well made fighter like EXVS would most definitely pique the interest of the unaffiliated, with this in mind we wish to get as many people as possible to email Bamco's main site and post messages on their Facebook page as well as that of their community manager so that we can show them there is a market here for a good Gundam game if they choose to acknowledge it. Now due take note that I said "if", its hard to know what numbers Bamco will act upon or, due to their increased interest in the American market, if they were considering this already. Either way it would be better to make an attempt and show Bamco that we're still here instead of not trying at all and before we do this we need to see how many people are willing to be involved.
Finally I'll address some question you may have.

Do we have to fight 2v2?
Most likely not.The ports featured one on one for both single and multiplayer so this will most like be the case for EXVS.
Isn't it too early to start this?
It may seem that way but now would be the best time. While the console port hasn't been officially announced yet the last two entries were ported and were announced when all of the timed unlocked suits were released, EXVS is nearing this point as well. Now, when funds haven't been fully allocated, the major decisions haven't been made, when there is time to properly consider such a thing, and major adjustments like preparing for an international release can be made, is the optimal time for us to take action.
Why not just import it? Localization isn't important because it's a fighting game.
Your right but this isn't about language barriers, this is about trying to get Gundam games back to our shores. If Bamco is willing to take a chance and sees the EXVS was received warmly we would be that much closer to getting more mainstream titles like the Gundam Battle series and the sequel to Battlefield Record 0081 (if they ever decide to make it) over here as well. The G Gen series and Gihren's Greed are probably lost causes though…
How well balanced is this game?
Since it was developed by Capcom it is as balanced as it could be excluding a few small issues here and there that are bound to be fixed eventually.
Why do we have to contact Bamco in so many different ways?
To make sure your voice is heard and not lost in the bureaucracy that is corporate communications.By sending your message to as many appropriate places as possible you insure that message is passed along to someone that matters.
Why not have an online petition?
Because they are synonymous with failure which is caused by people signing it multiple times and generally being a poor gauge of interest. By emailing and posting to Bamco directly you allow them to properly judge interest.
What console would it come out for?
Since the arcade game runs on the equivalent of a PS3 it's almost certain to appear there but that doesn't rule out a 360 release. A PS Vita version is also a possibility.
Lol,this will fail,why bother,etc.
We don't know unless we try.Its difficult to predict what if anything will happen.
Why was Catalyst byLinkinParkused as the theme song?
I have no idea.
So who's interested?
