She's a beagle! Cleo is her name. I adopted her from the SPCA she was a stray. She is super jacked for a beagle, perfect specimen. Her vet can't believe she was a stray. She's wild though, i have to keep her on a short leash or she'll just bolt.

She's awesome though, 7 years old and she's still a puppy!

Re: Meet Your Mods 2: The Legend of Chris' Gold

You make me sad. I had a beagle but she passed away back in late 2009 at the ripe old age of 15 1/2. She was a very good dog and I loved her dearly. That's the problem with these dogs. No matter how many years of love and affection they give you, you know somewhere in the back of your mind that one day that dog is going to break your heart.

Anywho, this thread seems to be flagging. Isn't it time for another mod?

So this doesn't die too quickly, I'll ask a question of all mods and Chris: What was the old Colosseum REALLY like?

Re: Meet Your Mods 2: The Legend of Chris' Gold

yeah, it reached the point where we had to come up with an arbitrary scale of how to rank the performance of various mobile suits. and nobody would really agree that the Gundam X was equivalent in performance to something from F91, for example (or whatever it was we decided) so everyone would fight over that instead of the matchup at hand, and it bred a bunch of resentments throughout the rest of the forum because how dare you suggest a Leo would beat a Zaku II you unwashed Wing-loving sodomite, and speaking of the Zaku i seem to recall a long thread arguing about the tensile strength of Zaku armor when the thread was about the Freedom Gundam or something.

it was a mess

Re: Meet Your Mods 2: The Legend of Chris' Gold

For another example (Of many), you'd be surprised (Or maybe not...) at how many people would post in threads involving mecha from a show they'd never seen, or make those threads themselves. It was almost funny to see an entire thread going two or three pages long about, say, the ZZ Gundam, and it would be obvious that none of the people posting in it had seen the show themselves.

On the other side, I did enjoy referring to Char by as many different names as possible in a single post. That was one of the few fun things.

Oh, and SC, when are we going to get your updated origin tale? :P

I do miss you doing that.

As the once master of that place, I can confirm all of the above. There were some gem match-ups that prompted some interesting discussion and speculation, but as time went on, we ran out of interesting match-ups and things devolved into a state of fanboyism and stupidity as vs. threads unfortunately tend to do.

Most notable in the later days before the times of failure were "Battles of the Craptacular" that pitted the worst performing machines against each other and matches that involved unique choices of combatants and one that even featured the Martian Tripod from War of the Worlds against whatever might stand a chance at defeating it without curbstomping the three-legged death machine.

But for every good and interesting thread we had, there were many more that were either repetitive or junk in some other way. Its time had come and after a week of warning for those to save anything of interest to them, away it went.

The colosseum would've been great if everyone had just had the sense to agree with me.

Who's the mod anyhow, since it's summer holiday and all?
