I kind of liked Ypsilon's role in Last Red Shoulder. I think it gave his character more depth - clearer motivations for being fixated on Fyana, etc...MilkManX wrote: Watched Last Red Shoulder and Roots of Ambition yesterday.
Wow.
I really loved both of them. My only quibble was the kind of heavy handed Ypsiolon/Proto-One interaction in Last Red Shoulder.
Roots of Ambition... I guess one thing that bugs me about that one is that it was the point where Chirico's knack for survival turned into a bona fide superpower. Dodging bullets at point blank range, recovering from that chest wound... I guess I've never been really sure how I feel about that.
As for Pailsen files - I say always go with production order.
I just watched Phantom Arc - enjoyed it a lot. I'm very pleased with it as the final Chirico story*.
Spoiler
Chirico's ending reminded me a bit of Goku's ending in DBZ...
I can't believe Wiseman survived and thought it was a good idea to involve Chirico in his plans again...
From the title I was worried that they might somehow resurrect Fyana... I'm glad they didn't. That would have been kind of dumb. Plus she was kind of a drag ever since she left Kunmen - needing to be constantly recharged and all that. It was getting kind of implausible.
I really need to watch Shining Heresy again - hopefully with subtitles this time... I really didn't understand enough of it the first time around.
