New Patlabor-Related Book by Mamoru Oshii Listed
source: ANN
The Kadokawa Haruki Corporation lists a new book called Bankuruwase: Keishi-chō Keibi-bu Tokushu Sharyō Ni-ka (Shocking Upset: Metropolitan Police Special Vehicles Section 2) by acclaimed anime director Mamoru Oshii in January. The book is listed under the "detective/mystery/suspense" genre with a release date of January 31. The company's listings do not necessarily indicate definite release plans or dates.

"Keishi-chō Keibi-bu Tokushu Sharyō Ni-ka" is the name of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police section of the main characters in the Mobile Police Patlabor science-fiction anime franchise. Oshii co-created Patlabor with the rest of the members of the HEADGEAR group, and he directed several of the Patlabor anime projects.

Oshii wrote a two-volume novelization of Mobile Police Patlabor 2 the Movie called Mobile Police Patlabor: Tokyo War. (The first volume is pictured at right.) He also wrote the manga version of his Kerberos Saga franchise and the Seraphim: 2-Oku 6661-Man 3336 no Tsubasa (Seraphim: 266,613,336 Wings) manga collaboration with the late director Satoshi Kon.

Looks like Voltron is getting a remake for the modern age.

If you read episode 28's description they are almost done with all the voice work for the series itself.
Speaking of Voltron...

The latest in weird merchandising. And this time it's not a Japanese thing, it's for sale in America. There's a link to where you can buy them in the article.

Re: Neo's News - Listener Submitted Articles

Curious but nevertheless good news coming from the Japanese side of the industry.

'Gundam Unicorn' Blu-ray and DVD postponed 3 weeks
Due to overwhelming response to the upcoming "Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn: Episode 3--The Ghost of Laplace" Blu-ray and DVD release, Bandai Visual Co. has been forced to delay sales by about three weeks to April 7.

The company is looking to secure a Blu-ray disc production line large enough to handle all the orders.

The original release date was March 18.

The first episode of "Gundam Unicorn" sold a whopping 110,000 copies when it first came out on Blu-ray and DVD in March last year, Bandai Visual said.

The second episode, released in November 2010, surpassed sales of the previous disc and saw a substantial jump in Blu-ray sales.

The japanese have taken a interest in the Chinese Space Marine in some very interesting fan art. Any bets on how far people are going to take this? Will it end up with a couple of cameos, figures, and (God forbid) its own series or is this the last we've seen of the Chinese Space Marine!!!!!!!!!
