We will first experiment with the BoyOC and develop till the part where the player chooses what girl to fall in love with. And all that jazz.
Also, is anyone updating that thread on /m/? We need to keep it alive.
I haven't touch the /m/ thread in a while, so it may be dead. However, we can certainly make new threads later on. /M/ will be more willing to contribute once we show something, with the amount of stillborn projects, I can understand that some people are cynical.
Also, quick question, you're the director or me? Because I'd presume it's you, but normally people don't talk about themselves in the 3rd person like that.
Initial development plan sounds right, I would suggest we examine the timeline that we know (we can always fill in the gaps, some episodes did have large periods of time in between) we have to work around and then figure out points where we can alter the story. It should be pretty straightforward, but it's best to be analytical about that.
edit: just saw Temjin's post.
As a current writing director for another project, I can safely say that there are a lot of ways to make that work. The way I've handled things is that I usually come up with the story lay out and events, with my writers filling things out. However, I'd suggest this be less top-down. We should brainstorm and agree on the basic structures and the interweaving plot lines as a group, but individual story paths should be the domain of one (or a few) dedicated writers. That being said, one person should definitely be in charge of overseeing the OC to make sure the seperate writers don't accidentally hijack him this way and that.
Finally, we've got nothing on names so far. But I think that might be premature... not to mention that this is CB, we can call them whatever the hell we want.
edit 2:
We might also need a code monkey.... been talking with my coding guru and he tells me that ren'py is shite unless the story is simple. Multi stories and stuff like that is more or less out of the question with it. Not to mention some other restrictions.
