Hey guys.

Great Show, enjoyed your rants. They were quite amusing. In response to your 'Australia gets picked on' comment I have no idea why Bandai hates us so. I know that lots of Japanese come here on holidays, exchange programs etc. I think our claim to fame in anime history is having the capital of the world in Legend of the Galactic Heroes (Brisbane). You Americans should consider yourselves lucky, those of us down here have to wait til november for Code Geass and I don't think that Gurren Lagann or Gundam 00 have been licenced yet. As is with the British we do not get alot of Gundam down here. We can get Gundam Wing, Gundam SEED, and Gundam SEED Destiny. An interesting fact however is that we will be getting the Eva movies sooner than the US, although it is a sub only release. As far as I am aware there is not a licencer for it in the US yet?

Your 0083 segment was on the money for the most part, Its not the greatest Gundam show around, but it has its moments good and bad. Your discussion on the state of the anime industry was very interesting. The whole situation over in the US does affect us, as our primary anime company, Madman Entertainment uses the US translations and Dubs in its releases.

Anyway keep up the good work!
You've been able to drink since 18 here :)
Be waiting for the next exciting installment of Gundamn.

Congrats on the 20th episode guys.

Chris, what manner of bribery was used to make you say "Epically Delicious"?

Also, may I ask who you were telling to shut up during your industry rant? Was he/she just disturbing you or commenting on what you said?

The recording of that episode was a lifetime ago in the podcasting world, so I don't remember at all what you're referring to.

When you get a Zeta Gundam cake for your birthday, it can be nothing but Epically Delicious. He's saving "Tragically Delicious" for his next birthday when he gets a V Gundam cake.

In the visage of Uso's mom's head in a helmet, upside down. Freaking awesome. Mother-tested. Tomino-approved.

The Zeta cake must have been weird to cut and portion out...unless Chris just ate it all himself.

Good god no. A bunch of people ate from it, and even then I had to throw it away because more than half of it was left and there was nowhere to store it. The cake was easily much bigger than a human head, not even counting extra pieces like the V-fin.

I wonder if it has anything to do with building up spiral energy and forming Gurren Lagann [/horrible sexual innuendo]

Re: Ep. 020 - Nina's Boys

Almost one year later...

I got around to listening to this episode today and rather than creating a new thread to ask this, I figure it might be easier to comment here. Frankenthread?

Great episode, by the way, fellows!

So one question: Maharaja Khan. I heard you fellows saying he died in 0083. I don't remember this happening. Was this that death shown on the moon (the fellow who seemed to have shot himself) at the end? That was Maharaja Khan? I thought he was already dead, especially the way Haman seems to be an important, if not overshadowing presence during the debate among the Neo-Zeon generals staff on Axis. Or have I clearly missed something?

Oh, and did anyone else (ever) think that guy in Char's Counterattack who said to Amuro, "We won't let Londo Bell get all the credit!" whilst trying to push Axis from falling to Earth sound like (at least in the English dub) Monsha from 0083? Yeah, I certainly prefer him to be one of those guys at the start of Zeta in the GM IIs who gets wasted by Char, Apolly, and Roberto, but didn't the dude in CCA have that porn-star mustache and all? No real thought here, just a comment.

No, the guy that shot himself was the CEO of Anaheim at the time. IIRC, Maharaja Khan was dead prior to Gato's Gundamjack.

Okay, that's what I thought, but by the sounds of this episode of Gundamn!, I would swear the guys were saying "with the death of Maharaja Khan" and otherwise alluding to what sounded like a death during 0083... Maybe I misheard. Perhaps I'll take another listen to the segment...

Wow another Australian on here, cool :P

Anyway on 0083 yeah it's not perfect but it's good and to me I like it and had somewhat looked forward to 0083 when Madman Entertainment released it down here this year.

So personally 0083 was a good one, they are releasing 08th MS team also
They are kind of testing the UC waters of Gundam, here in Australia.

Not sure if it would be something that would interest the Gundamn crew though, would it?

Edit: Also on a note on the series, I liked South Burning and Captain Synapse like Neo said.
I also like Chris hate Nina Purpleton especially after what she did in the end of the series and not to mention being such a bitch.
(sorry to say it but I think in Nina Purpleton's case)
Also not fond of Monsha at all one bit, very annoying.

Re: Ep. 020 - Nina's Boys

Another solid show guys. However, there was one thing that I heard about 0083 that I don't think you commented on. I had heard that some fans accused 0083 of introducing technology from Zeta Gundam too early. Any truth to that?

Oh and Nina Purpleton is definitely one of the five worst Gundam females ever. No doubt about it.
