He could have hissed when Gai showed up almost on schedule. Kylern could count how many conversations he tried to have were interupted by someone... He was thinking he should just keep his mouth shut and do his job instead of trying to make small talk.

But he just grinned and remained sitting the way he was as Wingnut reasoned his way out of the Zero System. "Or the system's convinced you thats the case? I'm still convinced its going to label us the enemy sooner or later." Not that he had any room to talk... He had been the enemy a few times and it sickened him to think about it.

"I'm sure... I for one find this whole damn universe insane and think it deserves a good nuking or maybe a colony drop before the story ends." He really was starting to lose his concern for this place the more he dealt with it. Too many atrocities have been and will be committed. He gave a shrug before rocking backwards and then on the move forward hopped down from the crate.

"See y'all later, or maybe not. I have figured out yet." And with that he left with a small wave with his back turned to them. Then his hands went into his pockets and he walked off. It was a crappy ending but he felt a little irritation and knew the longer he remained there the more likely he was to say something unforgivable.

Gai Watched Kylern leave some concern showing on his face. He waited till Kylern was far enough away that he wouldn't hear before speaking again.

"He worries me. He's too aggressive when he fights; It's like he really wants to destroy everything in this world. That's a path to self destruction if I've ever seen one."

Wraith
(what eyes?)

Wraith Bowed before his master. He had no urgent reports to give, at least none that she wouldn't have known about already, but he did have something to 'discuss' with her. He quickly produced a data pad with the records of one Killian Icer displayed.

What Wraith was asking was permission to take that man into his care; something he did very rarely, in fact never in Raven Sterling's life,

--Gundam Team ver. Awesome--

The units started to load up on the ship---encountering some minor 'space' problems with the Ex-S; but a certain part of the hangar would allow Slug to have an easier time maneuvering his large Gundam inside. The rest however, was smooth, with the GW bits being docked externally without trouble, and the Strike E and Akatsuki having a battery recharger.

The plan is now in motion: There would be a Federation ship waiting for the Fandom forces in the contested isle; and not to soon after that the new Fafnir would intercept from the northwest, and the large barge carrying the Destroy Gundam would be able to intercept from the same direction.

Pamphlets were passed to the pilots, and in it contained a small memory card and tactical analysis of possible combatants that they may encounter. There are grunts listed; although special units have more detailed information about their tactics and weapons. From Fandom forces like the Tallgeese, the Gurren, Shinkirou, Cattleya, and GN-X variations to the DC Huckebeins, Weissritter, and Alteisen, along with the known stolen Federation mecha. Basically, almost everything that they have encountered and the info extracted on the black boxes of their own units.

It's a test on how the Duskraiders would respond as an entire unit.

"All right, let's get this show on the road," Taylor says.

"Fafnir, launching!" Lauren commands.

- Raven -

Picking up the pad, Raven looked it over. "Killian Icer. One of two remaining survivors of the team of KMFs that were developed. You want him under your command?" Raven asked, rather surprised at the request.
Wraith nodded, almost to the point where you could miss it if you didn't know what to look for.

"Very well. I'll see to his transfer to you. The entire force in this area will be reorganized shortly, including the Anti Gundam Team, so it will be easy to assign him to be your subordinate."
I wonder what you have planned for him. An apprentice maybe? We shall soon see.

- Wingnut -

"That it is. Word among the doctors is that it's a result of his being brought here much later than the rest of us and a problem with the synchronization when he came through the portal. That may be true, but personally I think there's something else at work as well.
Remember Kyle and Kayla Ryder? I don't know how it could be possible, but I think all three of them are related somehow."

His next stop was to check on the situation with the TEMJIN. His terminal read a message stating it was time to evaluate the Twin Tesla Drive to make sure it was working right. This was going to be fun... or not.

His arrival was marked by someone tossing him his VR helmet and telling him to get started. "Can't anyone give me a break?" He asked lightly so no-one could hear him.

"Right kid get in there and do whatever to check to see if the systems are in working order." Obviously these guys played with his delicate machine without knowing a damn thing about it in the first place. That in itself pissed him off and it became apparent early on this wasn't going to work the first time.

"Fine... Just get out of the way and let me do my thing." He helmet was slipped on and just so he could check things himself he climbed into the cramped cockpit. The hatch closed and his helmet linked with the cockpit so he could see everything necessary including the valuable sensors normally not needed. He had switched from basic controls to full detail bringing up not only the essenctials needed to pilot but several new functions, like synchro rating as well as the TTD sensors.

"Starting tests... M.S.B.S. ver5 OS initiated... All weapons currently off-line... Beginning basic sync tests..."

The machine flashed on as the sync began between the system and the pilot. His brain wave was being read and the system came up to bare standards for operating the machine.

-Synchronization rating 82%... V-Converter Online...-

The V-Crystal started to glow and power was fed to the converter which spun quickly in the game console looking house on the back. Once power was fed to the TEMJIN it was time to test the TTD.

"Beginning Twin Tesla Drive activation..." The wing like boosters on the back were now the containers for the drives. Power was fed into them in order to get them booted up and running.

"System all green... Initiating Test of Twin Tesla Drive output..." Now it really began as the boosters started to release particles at a high rate similar to the Astelion. Kylern was watching the OS sync rate as it started to increase from 82% to almost 90%. He could feel the strain after that point and it was almost like being separated from his body. At about 95% intense pain tore through his mind as red lines started to creep up his body and the system was trying to absorb him.

Outside the TEMJIN was starting to try and move on its own. The units visor like sensors went from blue to red as the radiation wavelength from the V-Crystal started to become disturbed. Finally though a failsafe implimented by Kylern earlier on activated the unit went into complete shutdown before it went Shadow...

Inside the cockpit Kylern hung limp and barely breathing as the lines started to retreat. His terminal read the lack of an adequate life support system and forced the cockpit hatch open to ventilate. The VR helmet detached and Kylern fell forward onto the hatch stunned and severally disoriented but breathing. He just needed to rest for a few minutes before he could even get up or talk.

The test had been a failure...

Everyone seemed so pumped to go out on this 'little' mission. Lt. Fourteen on the other hand seemed kinda pissed about it. He was hanging out in the R&D hangar, and with Doc all possessed or someother crap, Wedge found himself pretty much alone. Well accept this funny strange that kept hanging around.

And for some god awful reason Lt. Fourteen was sitting in a corner with a cat on his lap drinking some tea and talking to thing.

"I think It's bunk sending me out there." He said taking a deep brief and nodding agreeing with the cat perhaps?

"I just got back in from our little raid on those DC bastards!" He sighed scratching the kitty's chin.

"You didn't have to remind me of, Nash and Gremio."

"Yeah you're right...I should never forget that, just so I can make sure something like that could never happen again."

He sat there for a few minutes petting the cat, in silence before tossing it to the side.

"Pfff...who needs ya!"

- Bian and Ryker -

The two men were meeting in Bian's office and discussing the state of affairs regarding the former Gundam team as well as the elite pilots flying with them.

"So there's been no major problems that haven't been officially reported among them then?" Bian asked.

"No, there hasn't. They've been getting along surprisingly well." Ryker replied.

"Good, because as of now I'm officially grouping them all into a new unit that's based on board the Ceres and the Valhalla. They are now the DC's 1st mobile assault group. My daughter and her escorts will not be a part of this unit, though they may accompany the 1st on a mission from time to time."

"I see. I'm curious though about Wingnut. I was under the assumption that he was assigned to space. What changed that?" Ryker asked.

"He changed that himself. It seems that the death of Michael Radachi was the main motivator for this as Wingnut assumed that he would be taking command of the Gundam Team in his place. Mr. Radachi also entrusted the fate of the Innovator ship and their technology over to him as well and Wingnut apparently promised that they would be taken care of. He's taking that promise rather seriously."

"I suppose I can understand that. But what of his disobeying orders?"

"For now we'll overlook it, but if it happens again you may take action against him as he will be leading the mobile forces of the Ceres and we can't have someone in that position running around doing as he pleases." Bian replied.

"Understood. Who else is going to be assigned to the Ceres?"

"For the most part, things will remain the same as they were on your last mission, although a couple will be reassigned to the Valhalla."

"Very well. I guess that brings us to Strike's refugees. Xiu and Stellar. We'll need to speak with them about becoming full time pilots for us." Ryker said.

"No better time than now." Bian opened a comm channel to Strike Zero's PDA. "Strike Zero. Please escort Ms. Xiu and Ms. Loussier to my office. I have a proposition for both of them."

"That's pretty contradictory in a way. It seems he still thinks this is all some kind of story. He once asked me about Kayla though; he wanted to know if I enjoyed taking her life, the answer should be obvious."

Gai looked down for a moment in silence.

"reminds me, did you see Kylern in space and did you hear about Kayla's return?"

"I didn't get to speak to him directly. The captain of the ship he was on insisted that he needed rest. It seems that both he and Kylern are burning themselves out during battle. Strike Zero told me about Kayla and I left a message for him about her, but I don't know if he ever read it.

I wouldn't be surprised if he decided to come down here and try to talk to her if he had the time to spare. He didn't even know that she was a part of the Fandom until recently so I'm sure he'd be wanting some answers from her about joining."

The head tech came running over when the pilot was literally ejected from the TEMJIN and shook the semi-conscience Kylern. "Hey kid wake up. Wake up damnit!" He shook a little bit more before Kylern rolled over onto his back and stared blankly up at the guy. His eyes were seemingly swimming in his head.

"This is all your fault..." He struggled to reply as his hand went up to his head weakly and he covered his eyes.

"What the hell happened? You were able to use the Twin Tesla Drive on the Astelion right?" The tech had no idea how different the TEMJIN and the Armored Module worked.

"Your an idiot... VRs need to sync with their pilot mentally to operate fully. And the White Knight was already taxing enough without you adding more crap too it." His eyes were covered as he tried to speak the best he could. He currently felt like two people who were trying to return to being on again. It was painful because the TEMJIN had tried to steal his mind once they crossed the 90% level.

"We were only able to get the TTD up to 72% before you were kicked out. Its a slight improvement over just a single Tesla drive at least..."

"Once again your an idiot... I need to readjust the TTD to 60% output to get the TEMJIN to safe operating levels. That will put me at about 87-89% sync which was just before I felt real pain. Any more and I'll die or worse be assimilated into a Shadow TEMJIN." He attempted to sit up but fell backwards with his whole body as well as his mind reforming.

"Why don't we just take the TTD out and replace everything back to normal?"

"Too late... I'll leave things the way they are. I'll just have to find a way to cope with the higher conversion rate." Kylern continued to lay there not wanting to open his eyes. "The only way I'll be able to pilot both at full sync would be if I altered my body and mind with enhancers. The way I am now it would be impossible to even reach 100% without being assimilated, let alone use the TTD at full power." They should have just waited until the next gen of AMs to come out before continuing tests. The TEMJIN wasn't built for this sort of power level.

Juuso and his forces (Practice Team + 32 GN-XIIs) had loaded up onto the bafflingly named Land Battleships. The Destiny and its escorts were primed and ready to go at the front of their carrier which was quite separate from Sterling's.

The members of the Practice Team were with him as he gazed out of the windows on the observation lounge. After awhile it was Dan that broke the silence.

"Captain, this battle, after last time, was this the right choice?"

Juuso thought for a moment before answering.

"Life is like an incessant series of problems, all difficult, with brutal choices, and a time limit. The worst thing you can do is to make no choice, waiting for the ideal conclusion to present itself. For all that I don't like the woman, Sterling knows what she's doing."

"Treachery is often subjective, Enlight. According to the reports on the inquiry done recently, Heading probably has similar words about you."

Enlight smirked and shook her head slightly. Iron Mask would see that she wasn't hiding it at this point.. She HAD in fact been reading the man, and did feel something odd. At this point she knew that she could be outclassed, or at least be at equal from her vantage point with IM. He could feel though a mental message that she now wished to form a rapport (NOT romantic, mind you.) with the man to at least get the Ptolemaios into SNRI hands without much fuss from Heading. This was after all, her goal. She wanted to advance the Human race like Heading; but her plan involved SNRI leading those Humans with her help.

"I would expect nothing less in this sort of situation. We know each other, sir; I her, and she, me."

"The true question is, nonetheless, how Heading is being swayed and what actions she is being led towards. Now, Enlight, who exactly has Heading been meeting with during these meetings...and assuming that Heading is indeed being corrupted by external elements, what is it you propose be done about it?"

Enlight pulled the files she had hacked from the IA database on base, before the computers were 'pulled offline'.

"Commander Jameson. Earth Federation Military Internal Affairs. It would seem sir that your commander has made some enemies within the Federation. The other one, I have no idea. She appears to be some sort of android that was in the service of the Divine Crusaders."

With that said, she opened another dossier with staff that she felt would appeal to the SNRI and smooth the transition from Federal..to SNRI control of the base.

"I suggest we relieve all senior staff on base and place staff whose convictions are..more in line with our own. If I may, I would also like to request reinforcement in the form of some Federal units to fully staff this vessel once Heading's crew has also been relieved. From there we can discuss the transfer of technological documents once the base and ship are secure with forces loyal to SNRI."

"I don't feel a thing...
And I've stopped remembering...
The days are just like moments turned to hours...
Mother used to say...
If you want you'll find a way...
But mother never danced through fire shower...
"

Strike gave a satisfied sigh. "Ah... great song..."

His cockpit radio crackled. "Report," came the voice of one of the Ceres' bridge crew. "How are things?"

"All quiet on the western front," Strike replied, glancing out over the ocean horizon once again. "Or... eastern, or northern, or whatever, I don't know where the hell I am."

"Understood. Make one more pass around, then return back to base."

"Got it," the young man replied, adjusting the Delta Gundam's angle just slightly to prepare for another fly around the island. "Man, patrol duty is hell'a boring..."

He noted that the fuel pressure for the suit's right leg seemed a little low. After flipping a few switches and making some adjustments the level quickly returned back to normal. Strike reclined back in his seat then. "Ah well, might as well take this opportunity to relax... I mean the chances of an enemy attack have got to be like fifty to one--"

His long-range radar squealed once, indicating an unidentified contact.

Strike stared at the sensor screen disbelievingly. "Surely, you can't be serious?" He leaned forward and double checked the reading. It wasn't a mistake. What appeared to be one enemy aircraft was on a course directly for Aidoneus.

A loud sigh filled the cockpit. "I guess, that'd be a one." He quickly keyed the COM. "Attention bridge, I'm reading an enemy contact inbound bearing oh-one-seven-five. Am moving into engage, copy?"

"Copy that, Delta," came a reply. "Do you require support?"

Strike thought about it only for a moment before answering. "Nah... there's only one of them. I'll engage and be done with it before lunch."

"Roger that, will continue to monitor progress, over."

The Delta Gundam yawed to the left as Strike set a new course to intercept the transport plane. "Today's your unlucky day, boys. For you have had the misfortune of having me to get through here."

- Jessie -

"How's your status? Ready to fly yet?" came Jo's voice over the radio.

"Just about..." Jessie replied.

"Alright. Rosy and Lily are up to launch first. After that, you're free to go."

Down below, the two young witches sprinted across the hanger deck up to their appropriate Striker Units. They vaulted up over the units and neatly slid their legs into the iron modules. Almost immediately, both Rosy and Lily were enveloped in a shimmering blue light. High above in the Infinite Justice's cockpit, Jessie observed what happened next with a measure of disbelief: both girls sprouted what appeared to be... animal ears and tails, Rosy with those of a fox, Lily a wolf's. Was this also an effect of their magical powers?

"Stranger and stranger..." the young blonde murmured.

"Opening hanger doors," Jo announced. All at once the large iron plates separating them from the outside began to part with a loud rumble and a great rushing of air filled the large room. Rosy and Lily, however, remained largely unfazed. Rosy in particular seemed to be brimming with excitement at the moment.

"Readying weapons," came Jo's next announcement.

Several compartments opened up on the hanger floor, and out from the openings emerged several weapons which were undoubtedly for the Witch's use. The nature of these weapons, however, astounded Jessie even further. The one seemingly intended for Rosy was a heavy rotary machine gun, the type that was normally mounted on heavy attack fighters. This was in addition to the heavy Katana that was already slung across her back. Lily on the other hand would apparently be using what Jessie identified as a prototype man-portable Rail Gun, a weapon that fired heavy projectiles at using electromagnets at such high velocities that they were known to punch through even tank-grade armor with little difficulty. These weapons would be choice if engaging a mobile suit to be sure... but how were they even supposed to use them?

Jo could apparently sense Jessie's concerns. "Watch this... this is the cool part."

The Striker Units revved to life, their powerful engines coming online. As they did, enormous circles of light suddenly appeared beneath the Witch's feet, and the Strikers lifted off the ground. Rosy and Lily too were surrounded by bright blue light. They grasped their respective weapons by the handles... and simply lifted them off the racks as if they weighed no more than feathers.

"The Striker Units do wonders in enhancing the girls strength, ensuring that they are able to wield their weapons with little difficulty," Jo explained.

"I see..." Jessie replied.

"You girls ready?" Jo said.

"Ready and raring!" came Rosy's ecstatic reply.

"Yes," Lily responded simply.

"Very well then. Strike Witches... LAUNCH!"

There was a rush of energy, and the two Witches blasted out into the blue at incredible speed despite their heavy weaponry. Jessie wasted no time in getting after them and launched the Infinite Justice as well. She fell into formation behind the girls, and together the three of them preformed a wide 180 degree turn as they moved to face the Island.

Jo's voice came over the radio once more. "We've identified your target. It is the MSN-001 Delta Gundam of the Ceres. You are to engage and bring it down any way you see fit."

"Well, alright!" Rosy exclaimed.

"Roger," Lily replied.

The three of them zoomed in the direction of their target. As they approached halfway, however, Jessie applied reversed thrust and switched the Infinite Justice's backpack to float mode. Her role was simply to observe, after all. She wasn't to engage the Delta Gundam directly. She could only hope, however, that Jo and the two young girls knew what they were doing...

***

"What's this?" Strike said as he studied the three contacts that had emerged from the enemy transport plane. One of them his computer easily identified as an Infinite Justice Gundam. The other two, however, he had no data on. All he could see was that they were moving rather fast and that they were extremely small.

"Are those missiles...?" Strike said. "No... not quite..."

He increased the magnification on his forward camera. He could see the objects, but couldn't make out any details. He increased the resolution. Still nothing; just how small were they? After one final tweak he was able to get a clear image...

The young man stared at the new picture that was displayed before him agape. "Are those... what I think...?"

What he was seeing, though he couldn't quite believe it, were a pair of girls with what appeared to be jet engines for legs. Both of them were holding rather large weapons, one a Gatling gun, the other one a large rifle of some sort and, if that wasn't enough, seemed to be in neko-mimi-mode at the moment.

Strike's radio crackled. "Report Delta, what is the nature of the targets?"

For a moment, the young pilot couldn't respond.

The operator tried again. "I say again Delta, what is the nature of the targets? Are you receiving, over?"

"Strike Witches."

"What?"

"Right here... flying in my direction... are a pair of Strike Witches."

"Strike Witches? Explain, Delta?"

"Um... I don't know if I could if I tried... "

Was this for real? What in the hell was the Federation thinking? Did they seriously intend to engage him with these two young girls? If they were indeed Strike Witches, then that meant that they had magical powers, but even so..."

"Um... don't worry about it. I'll engage and... eliminate the targets..."

Strike transformed the Delta into mobile suit mode and acquired a lock on the two approaching girls.

"Is this really for real?" Strike wondered to himself. "I mean... seriously?"

The two girls were approaching ever closer. Soon enough they would be in firing range, and then he'd have to engage them... but there was now way in hell he could shoot them down. That'd just make him a... well, a bully.

"Oh well..." Strike said sheepishly. He raised the Delta's rifle. "Firing..." The beam weapon reported twice, sending two hot projectiles the Witch's way.

- Epic Battle Part 1 of 2 -

Far off, still approaching, Rosy and Lily had their sights set on the golden mobile suit glinting in the sky. "Target spotted..." the young brunette said.

With her free hand Rosy pulled back the strands of hair that covered the left wide of her face, revealing an eye with a glowing red iris. "Analyzing!"

The vision out of her left eye was enhanced by magic, allowing her to see great distances... and to determine the appropriate points at which to strike her target. There, glowing from within the Gundam were two indicated vital points, one just below the neck, and one on the suit's back. That's where they would strike.

At that moment, the Gundam took aim with its rifle and sent two hot beams in their direction. "Incoming!"

The two girls, putting full power into their Striker units, easily weaved their way around the two shots.

"Commence battle formation alpha," Rosy said, priming her weapon. Her Striker Unit surged with power and she rocketed towards the Delta Gundam.

"Understood," Lily replied. Quickly, she brought her legs around in front of her, initiating a 'full reverse' maneuver. She proceeded to float their stationary as she fitted the butt of her Railgun into her shoulder.

"Target acquired," she continued in her monotone. "Initiating charge."

Two prongs extended out of the rifle's barrel, and the tip of the rifle began to spark with a sporadic show of lighting.

"Charge commencing. Output levels: normal."

Strike, meanwhile, realized by studying the weapon that what the gothic-lolita witch was holding was none other than a Railgun. While this wasn't enough cause for worry, he knew that several direct hits would be more than enough to ruin his day. With this, he decide to take care of her first and set the targeting sights squarely on the unmoving witch.

"Sorry about this..." Strike said. "I really don't want to hurt you but... you and your friend really should know better than to..."

He paused. "Wait..."

Her friend. He realized that the other witch had disappeared from his line of sight. Where did she--?

His sensors shrieked a warning. The other was bearing down on him... from above?!

"Have some of this!" Rosy shouted as she dove. She pointed her menacing weapon down at the Delta and fired. The Gatling gun let out an ear-splitting roar and the vibration it generated was tremendous, but Rosy simply bared her teeth in a grin and focused on using her powers to keep the weapon steady.

"Holy--!" Strike cried. He tried to acquire a counter-lock, but the angle at which Rosy was approaching put the sun directly behind her and Strike couldn't see. He was forced to simply raise his shield to block and allow the bullets to thunder against it instead of the Delta's body itself. Rosy, however, didn't let up on her stream of fire even as she streaked past the golden Gundam, adjusting her angle to keep the weapon trained on it even as she turned around for another pass, forcing Strike to keep his shield primed. The ammo belts slung around her body which fed the giant gun allowed her to perform this maneuver without worry.

"Alright... you wanna play hardball?" Strike turned his beam rifle on the Witch and fired several shots at the tiny target. However, Rosy didn't fail to make full use of what little advantage her small size provided, and darted around the beams effortlessly with astounding speed. Abruptly, she made another dart at the Delta Gundam, gatling gun roaring. Strike was forced to block yet again, and was now starting to get a little peeved.

"No good? Fine... dodge this!" he roared as he let loose with the Delta's Vulcan cannons. With smaller projectiles at a higher rate of fire, these were sure to find their mark. And, much to Strike's satisfaction, that's exactly what they did... only to be stopped however by a glowing disc of sapphire energy. Rosy had put up her barrier and stood fast against the return fire. The barrier shuddered tremendously under the high-caliber bullets, but ultimately held.

It was then that Lily, who had never released her lock on the Delta Gundam, chose this moment to intervene. The tip of her Railgun was now charging a brilliant electric blue and the metal casing whined as it brimmed with the full charge.

"Charge complete. Target lock acquired. Firing."

Lily had not trained as a sniper for all these years for nothing. A bolt of lighting erupted from the end of her rifle and flew straight and true, finding its mark on the right side of the Delta's torso.

"GAH!" Strike cried as the suit shuddered violently from the impact. "Bloody hell... these girls are--AUGH!"

The Delta rumbled yet again as Rosy took full advantage of the provided distraction, riddling the Delta's chest armor with high-caliber bullets. Strike furiously took aim with his beam rifle, but Rosy made it clear she wasn't about to loose her dodging edge. He tried again with the vulcans, but Rosy simply raised her shield again to block.

"Keep up the covering fire, Lily!" Rosy shouted joyously. The white-haired girl compiled, firing off two more powerful shots. The first struck the Delta on its right leg, the next its shoulder. Yet again, Strike was jostled in the golden machine's cockpit.

"Okay... you girls are going to make me get serious..." Strike growled. "Just don't blame it on me if I end up killing you!"

((Sorry for double post. The original piece I typed was so large I decided to split it in half and I didn't feel like waiting any longer. Presenting our encounter's pulse-pounding conclusion...))

- Epic Battle part 2 of 2 -

Since bullets weren't working, Strike decided to take a more direct approach and attempted to ram the darting Witch, but even this proved to be not enough to counter Rosy's incredible speed as she began to play the roll of a matador, waiting until the last possible second before rolling swiftly out of the way.

"Toro! Toro!' Rosy laughed, taking aim with her weapon and firing again. Because Strike had decided to commit to these engaging maneuvers, he was no longer able to react quickly enough to block the sporadic hails of bullets the young brunette was sending his way. Several well-placed shot made contact with the Delta's head this time and static flashed across Strike's sensors.

"Oh, that's it! I'm not about to be made a fool of by a pair of magical girls!" Strike seethed. He tossed the Delta's beam rifle away and drew its beam saber in one swift motion.

"Ha! Finally getting serious, huh?" Rosy said. However, a new energy was apparent in the Delta Gundam's movements as Strike became more and more enraged. The desire to spare the witch's lives was also apparently vanished, as the Delta made a furious horizontal slash at the Gatling-wielding girl with no intent to merely disable. Rosy was just barely able to roll up and over the burning blade and recover before she was forced to dodge another vicious attack.

"Then... I do believe I'll get serious as well!"

Rosy ripped away at the ammunition belts covering her body and tossed them into open air along with her Gatling gun. She then grasped her Katana by the hilt and swiftly drew the powerful blade. The well-polished metal gleamed brightly in against the mid-day sun.

The young girl closed her eyes, holding the curved weapon out in front of her. "Believe... in the blade..."

"There's no way in hell, girl!" Strike shouted as he bore down on Rosy for a final swing. He held the beam saber high above his head, then bore down on the stationary girl below. "It's over!"

When he was within mere meters, Rosy's eyes snapped open, and she let out a furious cry.

"HUOOOOOOOOOOOOOH!!!"

The young girl swung, and slashed at the blade of energy just as it came down atop her. There was a blinding flash of light at the point of contact. It seemed as though the girl had been vaporized...

Two seconds passed. Three. Strike merely sat frozen and stared at the spot of light with tight fixation.

"No way..."

There, beneath the shimmering line of energy, sword burning with the energy of a hundred suns above her head, was Rosy. Somehow, despite its incredibility, she had with her meager Japanese sword stopped the powerful beam saber dead in its tracks. It had by no means been an easy task... it had taken all of her concentration to focus all of her energy at the precise moment it was necessary. Even now she struggled to maintain her stance. The Striker Unit's engines whined, her muscles strained, and her jaw was clenched tight... but still bared her teeth in the mad grin that remained upon rounded face, and she chortled heartily in the face of her utterly stunned opponent.

Strike's jaw was completely slacked. "When the hell did this become G Gundam?!"

"Lily! Now!" Rosy cried.

"Firing," the white-haired girl announced as she took aim at the Delta's wide-open sword arm. The bolt of lightning lanced out, and struck the mobile suit squarely at its right elbow. There was an explosion and the Delta was jolted slightly to the side.

"What?! No!" Strike cried. He tried the controls, but the right arm didn't respond. It was dead.

"My turn!" Rosy chorused.

"Damn!" Strike shouted as the witch rushed toward the Delta Gundam's head. He fired his vulcans, but Lily pulled away at the last second, but not before throwing three oddly-shaped canisters directly at the Delta Gundam's face. They detonated and Strike's forward display was filled with a white-hot light.

"Crap!" he cried, shielding his eyes with his hands.

"NOW!"

Rosy charged in at full steam. Strike blindly swatted at the approaching girl with his remaining good arm, but it was completely useless. As she neared the suit's head, she flipped once... and grabbed a hold of the Delta Gundam's V-fin.

"Prepare yourself, Gundam!"

She slid her Katana back into its sheath and began scaling down across the grooves in the Delta's armor. Once she reached the base of the rear of the Gundam's head, she drew her sword again and grasped the armor tight.

"Hiiiii...YAAAH!" she exploded as she thrust the sword deep into Delta's neck.

"Aaargh!" Strike shouted as heavy static flared across his monitor.

Rosy wrenched the sword free and cried out again as she thrust the weapon once more into the thick armor.

This time the forward display cut out completely. Strike cursed and quickly switched to the backup cameras before moving to take care of his free-rider. Since she was directly on the Delta's body, he couldn't very well use his saber. He simply had to grab her off his back. As he reached the Delta's left arm around behind to do so, Rosy simply released her grip and grabbed onto the Delta's palm as it passed.

"What the--?! You little...!" Strike waved the arm forward in an attempt to shake her off, but Rosy's grip held fast. As he swung it back in the retuning direction, however, Rosy used the momentum to carry her in a jump all the way to rear of the Delta' torso. As she passed just above the Gundam's thrusters, she reached out and grabbed ahold of a just large enough groove, then pulled herself close to the armor's surface.

"Take... THIS!" She shouted as she plunged her sword into the Delta's backpack.

More alarms went off in Strike's cockpit, this time indicating an oil line malfunction. As Rosy pulled her weapon out, a thick stream of black oil burst forth out from the wound. However, she didn't mind, not even as the black drops sprayed over the right side of her face. She thrust forward yet again and planted the blade even deeper into her target.

Strike's eyes widened. The Delta's engines were losing power! "Darn it, get off me!" he cried frantically.

In a last ditch effort, he tried shaking the mobile suit left and right, attempting to launch Rosy free like a tick. There was no use in trying to stop her now, however, her sheer adrenaline allowed her to keep her grip rock-solid.

"And now..." she said, pulling her sword back once more. "This.. is the END!"

Her blade shined with energy for a split second before she jammed it in, deeper than ever. This stroke was met with a loud series of groans that chained all the way down the length of the Delta Gundam's back. Then, the golden Gundam's thrusters began to sputter, the fires that held the mobile suit aloft beginning to flicker out. After a full twenty seconds of trying to stay online, the engines, ultimately, died, and the Gundam began its plummet down towards the ocean's surface. Rosy, taking this as her exit cue, finally let go and sped away from the falling suit.

"What?! No!" Strike cried as he tried anything and everything to reactivate the doomed Gundam. "This... this cannot beeeeeeeeeeee~!"

*KA-DOOOSH*

The splash that resulted from the Delta striking the waves below was tremendous, extending up over thirty meters into the air. The expended water then began to fall gently back to earth as a misty rain.

High above, Rosy and Lily watched this spectacle in silence. Silence, that was until Rosy decided to break it.

"That... was... AWESOME!"she shouted with utter glee, proceeding to enter into a series of cartwheels, back flips and somersaults through the air. "We are awesome! We did it! We shot down a GUNDAM! You and me, Lily! Woo-hooooooooooo!"

Lily, of course, remained stoic as ever in the face of all this. Down below, she watched as the fallen Gundam backed up to the water's surface. She searched carefully for any sign of movement, any sign that the mobile suit was still ready to fight. However, she detected none. The Gundam was indeed felled.

It was then that Jo's voice came back over the COM. "Excellent work girls! Fantastic! I'm so proud of you!"

"Aw, that was nothing!" Rosy replied with glee. "Heck, bring the rest of them on! We'll shoot 'em down like nothin'!"

"I'm sure you could. However, that's enough for today. Return to the ship so that we may be leaving this airspace immediately."

"Aww..." Rosy moaned, her shoulders slumping. "Alright..." With that, she and her partner turned on their tail fins and sped on back in the direction of the Artemis.

High above, floating several meters over them, Jessie continued to stare at the pair in a state of utter shock.

"I don't believe it..." she muttered numbly. "They actually won..."

These two little girls, equipped with the bare minimum in armaments, had gone two-on-one with one of the DC's strongest mobile suits and, despite all odds, emerged victorious. It was baffling... truly astounding. If she hadn't seen the whole thing from start to finish with her own eyes, she would have never believed in a million years that such a thing could be possible.

"Maybe... there really is something to these 'Strike Witches' after all..."

She eyed the golden Gundam bobbing up and down in the waves. She considered finishing him off... preventing him from fighting another day... but decided against it. After all, she considered, death after a loss like that would be nothing short of a mercy killing, to be sure. Instead, she simply spun the Infinite Justice around and followed the victorious witches back to the Artemis.

***

Slumped in the pilot seat, Strike stared at... well, nothing in particular, really. He didn't move, he didn't blink. He barely even breathed for that matter. He simply couldn't stop his mind from reeling at several hundred rotations per second.

"I lost... to a pair of Strike Witches..." Strike muttered. "I lost... to Strike Witches..." he kept repeating over and over.

Aside, he wondered whether or not he'd prefer being lost at sea to rescue at this point. Death would surely be preferable than going back to face his comrades at the moment. Still, there wasn't anything he could do to prevent it, really, since his distress beacon had activated automatically. All he could do was sit here and wait rescue... and prepare for the utter ruin of his reputation as a pilot...

In fact four Lions and a pair of Guarlions were already on route and would arrive in 30 seconds so Strike would not have to wait long.
They were also coming in hot in case anyone was looking for more of a fight.

- Wingnut, a beach on Aidoneus Island -

The de facto leader of the soon to be renamed Gundam Team watched the end of the battle from a pair of binoculars. He had been out there with them to enjoy the ocean air and study what little wildlife remained on the island when the battle broke out. Lowering them he thought back on the fight.

That was certainly an unexpected outcome. I wonder if this is a trend toward using smaller weapons in general for the Federation. Either that, or they've figured out that unconventional methods like these are sometimes the only way to defeat an opponent like us. For our sake, I hope this isn't the start of a trend.

- Roughly half an hour later -

"There he is!" Xiu said, spotting Strike moving sluggishly down the hallway towards Bian's office. "What took you so long?"

"Huh?"

"We received a request from Bossman to report for some kind of meeting over an hour ago. Where have you been?"

"Um... I was... er..." Strike struggled out.

Stellar frowned. "You don't look so good. Are you okay?"

"Fine... just... just fine..."

The young girls didn't look convinced, but quickly brushed it off. "Well anyway," Xiu said, "we're all here now, so let's get this show on the road."

The three of them entered through the doors to Bian's office and stood at attention. "Xiu, Stellar and Strike reporting, Bossman," the young thief announced.

The delay had been such that the two men had finished their other business while they waited and even had time for tea had either been so inclined to want some.

"Good of you to finally come." Bian said indicating for them to have a seat.
"Perhaps you'll set your PDA to an audible tone next time as we have an important proposal for your lady friends, Strike Zero."

"More specifically concerning their futures and if that future is with us." Ryker finished.
