Necronomicon

It was TM who answered Raven's hail, and...were those sparkles emitting from him?

"Always impeccable and timely, Raven," TM said stylishly, swinging a hand up and clicking his fingers. "I admire that. Anyhow, it's good to see you --- at present calculations, we'll be at Trinary in 30 minutes. Please have your Mobile Suits and landing teams ready to launch."

The captain responded

"We'll do so; and for future reference, I am not Raven, He does not make live calls. I am Captain Galdwin Ken and was instructed to act as a go between for our forces"

As the captain said this the fleet moved into formation the new Gwazine class in the center with the five Nazcas surrounding it in a diamond formation.

The pilots and mobile dolls, a total of 20 this time (15 Guaiz's and 5 Zssa's) were finishing preparations.

- Theo Rawn -

The Grey Wolf was underway and headed towards Axis and the Trinary defense outpost.
Upon studying the data on the ships and fighters that were now at his command, Rawn couldn't help but be impressed with the amount of firepower that was being allotted for this mission.
The number of craft total that his fleet was carrying was enough to outnumber the expected maximum size of the enemy force by more than 3 to 1. And the units he had were not disposable redshirts either. They were the latest model of the VF-11 that there was plus several new unmanned fighters.

This would be more than enough to accomplish the mission. The only question would be, would they get there in time before the Trinary fell. Rawn had already gotten a report on the enemy movements and they would beat the Grey Wolf there by a significant margin. Combined with the Trinary's antiquated mobile suits, it would be a race to get the job done before it was too late.

- Raven Sterling -

Like Rawn, Raven Sterling was also intrigued by the data she found when she looked up the records on one Melodius Greye.

He was once a ranking Federation officer that was stationed at the Trinary defense outpost and had even been in the Feds newtype research division at one point.
However his career came to an abrupt end five months ago when he was dumped by the Federation for destroying a neutral medical transport that he claimed was a Fandom supply ship.

Sterling remembered the incident well as the ship was in fact carrying experimental medical equipment that would have been used to further the Fandom's own newtype research and development. The equipment had been very well disguised to the point that even if boarded and searched, a Federation inspection team would find nothing out of the ordinary. Greye was right, but there was no way he could have possibly proven it.
The loss of the machines had set back Raven's timetable by several weeks while waiting for replacement equipment.

So is it revenge, or something more that he is after? mused Raven. I guess we'll find out soon enough.

Trinary Federation Garrison
Dogos Gear-class Battleship Hemingway

Vice Admiral Sheldon Dolleen, in his big-boned, tall stature and holding a coffee cup, had walked onto the Hemingway's bridge to the same uneventful surroundings and five other officers waiting for him: Colonel Dale Dunaway, Major-General Morshode Ketan, Colonel Ling Zhaoliu, Lieutenant-Colonel Megan Bradley, and Rear Admiral John Norton. All five, all dressed in Federation dress uniform and wearing officers' hats, walked forward and surrounded Dolleen as he sat down. The gathering was no coincidence; Looking around, Dolleen noticed that all six of them, with himself being the highest-ranked and most prominent amongst them, had a certain thing in common.

"Colonel Dunaway, General Ketan, Colonel Ling, Colonel Bradley, Admiral Norton." Dolleen returned the salute as the five saluted him, and he shuffled himself in his seat. "So glad of you all to make the trip, especially in such treacherous times."

"It seemed important enough for all of us to be here," Bradley answered, looking around her once. Nothing of note. "And on such short notice, too."

Ketan frowned irritably at that. "You know why he called us all here?"

"He was...insistent, if nothing else," Dolleen answered vaguely, looking down, hand tipping his hat over his eyes. "From that note he sent us, it seemed he wanted to give us a demonstration of his project and didn't want to do it in the Fandom's threat range, so he offered to move the demonstration to Trinary. Said it was as safe as things could be."

Ling crossed his arms and snorted. "This won't change a thing, Vice Admiral." Dolleen looked up. "Our opinion won't change no matter what he throws our way."

"He's right." Dunaway paced once, turning around quickly. "We've had it with him and he should've remembered that. Getting all cocky because Admiral Richter backed him...thinking his precious project is going to win us this war all by ourselves. He's doomed himself the moment he's let things drag this long --- once the war with Fandom ends, he's finished. We'll all see to that."

The other three officers nodded assent together.

Dolleen bit his lip and looked back up. He shuffled again in his seat, seemingly finding it uncomfortable. He's never liked being on the Hemingway, and even on critical missions, being the Chief of Operations in Side 3 and the Outer Rim, he's only boarded the Hemingway when he absolutely needed to. Dolleen cursed himself inwardly; Who did he think he was? "Right, it seems we're all in agreement on that. But Richter is...adamant. And it's not going to be easy to dislodge him and Richter along with him. How do we proceed?"

"Soon," Bradley piped up. "If the Invasion of Europe is successful, we'll have a better chance of convincing the rest of the Council that his project is a useless gesture and not necessary against the Fandom. When they're not worried about their Status Quo, the Council will probably be more receptive of what we have to say...maybe we can get that stupid Newtype Quarantine Order rescinded while we're at it, too. What were the Old Men thinking on that one!?"

"The sooner we get him removed from power the better," Ketan growled, raising a fist threateningly. "It doesn't matter what the Old Men think. He's our enemy, not the Federation Council."

"I agree." Norton analytically answered. "I don't like him. He's up to something. He might be no fan of the Fandom, but he's got something in mind with his project. If we're lucky, he'll only take the Federation apart piece by piece if we let him persist."

"Even with the Invasion, much of SNRI is loyal to him and Richter. It won't be easy." Dunaway interjected at that.

"It still has to be done." Ling said bluntly.

Finally, Dolleen stood up. "Right then. Here's what we're going to do. If he doesn't contact us in another half-hour, we're leaving without him. You leave SNRI to me --- I'll use my pull to have some of my own men assigned in their ranks, see what I can find out about his current progress. And after the invasion is complete, I'll be able to call his progress into audit and we'll have the excuse we need to---"

The officers were suddenly interrupted by loud alarm klaxons and blazing, flashing red lights on the bridge of the Hemingway, causing the five officers to turn and Dolleen to take a step forward. "Sonar!" Dolleen cried out urgently. "Report!"

"mcred23 reports having detected a Fandom fleet in Trinary's outer marker space, approaching fast! Four ships...one of them with an unidentified signal, it's not registering as anything on our computers! ...Reports are coming in! The unidentified ship's launched Mobile Suits! It's an attack!"

"All garrison ships, immediate launch! Battle stations, all hands!" Dolleen barked orders immediately, and at once the forces outside the Hemingway's bridge blazed into action, moving towards a single direction to the Hemingway's starboard. "Garrison fleet is to mobilize at once and meet enemy troops; Trinary, activate Phase Shift Field at once! Communications! Send a Priority One distress call to all nearby Federation ships requesting assistance at Trinary at once!"

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Necronomicon was the first to launch its Mobile Suits as, in front of them and from Trinary, the garrison forces consisting of fifty Salamis Kai-class cruisers, four Alexandria-class cruisers and the Hemingway mobilized its Mobile Suits --- GM Quels, Marasais and Barzams, as Melodius predicted --- and began moving at the direction the Necronomicon was coming in from. Behind the ships, Trinary's three namesake satellites began emitting a loud whirring noise in unison, and glowed brightly; Trinary's surface suddenly was washed over by a wave of multicolored rainbow light, making the asteroid prismatic as it was surrounded by the Phase Shift Field. The Salamis Kais were likewise turning slowly, lining up their guns, ready to target...

Then the first bombardment came at Trinary's Mobile Suits from near the Necronomicon.

Large, yellow intense beams flew en-masse at the first waves of the Mobile Suits from a distance, catching most of the first wave of GM Quels and Marasais head-on --- sheared apart by the beams, the first wave was soon enveloped in multiple explosions that blinded the advancing second wave coming at the Necronomicon...and as the second wave emerged at the Necronomicon, they caught their first sight of their opponents as they fired their Beam Rifles forward...only to find their attacks bouncing off something between them harmlessly in cackles of electromagnetic light.

The SPARTANs' near-identical Mobile Suits, some blue, others red --- 20 of the former, 30 of the latter, and 10 completely different-looking ones following close.

Then it was the SPARTANs' turn. The Mercuriuses and Vayeates advanced, the Mercuriuses drawing their Crash Shields and Beam Rifles, the Vayeates with their Beam Cannons, while the Serpents stayed at a further distance back, Gatling Guns blazing. With the Mercuriuses forming a defence in front of them, the Vayeates reformed their fire, recharged, and fired a second volley at the second wave, causing them to scatter and charge at the SPARTANs in melee...only to be torn down by the combined fire from the Serpents, with the few GM Quels that could get to the Mercuriuses forced to duel them in hand-to-hand melee combat...

Now standing on the bridge as well, Melodius smiled to himself. He had been right --- about everything. The outclassed and outperformed garrison at Trinary were unable to match up to the SPARTANs' Mercuriuses, Vayeates and Serpents, and so far the SPARTANs were performing admirably in this battle, with the first and second waves decimated and the third wave faring little better, the Necronomicon pushing closer and closer towards the Salamis Kais and Trinary. A Fandom push here could break the garrison and press them right into Trinary proper.

And beyond the Mobile Suits was Melodius' primary target --- and that was reserved for his own Party. Melodius took a step forward. "Inform the Fandom that they can feel free to advance as they will towards Trinary. SPARTANs, advance with the Necronomicon, medium distance. Heavy Weapons Guy."

"Ya?"

"Make your run as planned. You, Zero and Gyunei make straight for the Hemingway --- make destroying it your first priority. Quess, while they are doing this, you and the Alpha Azieru will attack the Phase Shift Field; Begin with the Fritz Ashlyn, then regroup with the Party after they finish the Hemingway off and go after the Cardi Doorl. Feel free to destroy whatever you need to to get to your destination."

"Got it!"

"Take the Necronomicon ahead 2/3s! Gunners, give 'em hell! ...Aren't you going to launch as well, Commander?" TM, on the XO's chair with legs crossed, asked.

"No. There'll be time for that." Melodius shook his head without looking at TM, eyes focused on the battle ahead. "But I cannot be seen in the Dezpada here --- not yet. Don't worry, TM," A pause. "If the Party fails, you and I can see some action in the thick of it after all. Be patient. ---Shadow Company, you're cleared to go. Move out!"

And, underneath the Necronomicon and beneath the thick of the fighting and the advancing garrison, the four Mobile Weapons of the Shadow Company --- the Gundam Mark II Unit 0, feet planted and riding on the transformed Raider Gundam as a sled, the Forbidden Gundam right at the forefront, and the Alpha Azieru right behind them, wired Beam Guns blazing at the Marasais and Barzams getting too close, ripping them apart with deadly accuracy --- advanced with the urgent speed of their Commander towards the Hemingway, and Trinary...

the Fandom fleet advamced and deployed it's Mobile Suits the GN-Xs and GuAIZs came first and fully equipped Zssa's stayed behind.

Little would the Trinary forces notice one of the mechs vanish from radar among the forty five deployed units.

-Hanger of the Uraga class Redemption-

In order to secure is new VF easier Kyle had moved to the large carrier from Lunar corp. There his VF-25S had been loaded with the Full Armor Pack as well as configured to link up with three Ghost fighters. This gave him a pretty impressive amount of firepower in the upcoming fight. This next operation was after all going to be a get in and get out type of thing. They didn't want a long drawn out conflict with the Pirate/Fandom forces for obvious reasons.

On the Uraga itself was three wings of VF-11G fighters. That was each wing with 2 squads. Each squad was 4 fighters each for a total of 24 fighters. Plus there were 10 Cheyenne class mobile defense mechs and 5 VF-11FAs. Plus his own unit for a total of 40 units on the Redemption.

The three Northhampton classes had only a wing each of VF-11Gs, 5 Cheyennes, and 2 VF-11FAs. Giving the force another 15 mechs per ship. There was also one more rather monsterous unit that had been given to the Gray-Wolf and that was the largest VB created in the Macross Universe the VB-06 Konig Monster Variable bomber. This monster had four massive anti-ship rail-cannons, two three barrel anti-ship missile launchers, four micro-missile launchers, and a large vulcan gun. It was heavily armored and could easily take anything thrown at it besides a tactical weapon. Even normal beam rifles would bounce off its thick hide. This machine would give Rawn more artillery options for the incoming battle.

From the cockpit of the VF-25S Kyle waited for the next orders to launch. They were ready to show the Fandom that they weren't dead... He also got this weird itching feeling that someone else was out there that he had a vandetta against. Whatever happened they were going to get to the bottom of all this.

- Theo Rawn, Grey Wolf -

Rawn was vidlinked with the other ships as he gave the mission briefing for the battle ahead.

"As you know, the Federation's Outer Rim fortress Trinary is under heavy attack by advanced Fandom forces. Unfortunately, they are vastly out classed in terms of mobile weapon technology and will eventually fall. Even if we brought our full strength against them, it is unlikely we could change the eventual outcome of the battle.

Therefore, we will use the Trinary as a decoy to complete our own hit-and-run mission.
We will use the fold drives of the Redemption and the other ships to create a fold bubble around the Grey Wolf and fold out just behind the group of three Nasca class destroyers. Our primary objective will be to board, and if possible, capture one of them and gain access to their database. The GM Dynames team will quickly knock out the weapons on the target and surround their ship while our boarding transports do their job. The rest of the force will destroy or drive off the other two ships and any mobile weapons that try to attack us.
Once the mission is complete and we have what we need, all forces will withdraw back towards the moon."

Only a moment later the Grey Wolf was in position to be enveloped by the fold bubble generated by the rest of the fleet.
The Redemption and escorts expanded their influence over super dimensional space to include the Grey Wolf and all ships were soon ready to give the Fandom a nasty surprise.

"Fold in."
With that command the fleet shimmered and vanished into super dimensional space.

"Got is sir..." He started up his machine as well as the other VF wings. All fighters were ready for a moments launch now. The heavy collection of Cheyenne's were also loaded so that their missile launchers carried a slew of short range anti-mobile suit missiles. Their gattling guns were loaded and their beam cannons were powered up. These machines were ready to fire as soon as they were given the order. Missiles were also loaded into the FA modules of the few select VF-11 variants.

All in all the battlegroup was ready for the most intense broad side fandom had every encountered up to this point. The ships had anti-ship missiles loaded and their guns were primed. The plan was to target the enemy fleet from behind and take them down before they ever realized what happened. It was almost game time and this would allow them to strike a pretty deadly blow to Fandom's war effort in this area. Plus if all went well and they captured a Nazca class then they would have all the info they needed to plan their next stage of operations.

(Once Wingnut folds out into battle all VFs will launch and all Cheyennes and ships will open fire)

- Grey Wolf -

It didn't take long for the fleet to arrive as the distance of the jump was measured in thousands of kilometers instead of light years.

As soon as the transition to realspace was complete the ships of the Lunar Corp began their attack with great intensity. Missiles began flying from all the ships and variable fighters began swarming out of their holds and off the deck of the Redemption.

On the Grey Wolf two GM Dynames were first off the catapult and headed towards the nearest Nasca. Another pair soon joined them and then it was Maarek Stele and Dreacon's turn on the catapult. Their job was to make sure any advanced or ace units that might make it past the VF screen did not interfere with the boarding operation.

On the starboard catapult, Maarek was eagerly anticipating the battle. With the help of the technology in Dreacon's mobile suit, the technicians were able to finish the full load of six fin funnels and make them operational on Maarek's MP Nu Gundam.

- Public Kai-class Spaghetti al Dente -
- Main Bridge -

Cardi Doorl paid no attention to the skipper's pleas for decency as he floated above the unfortunate crew of C&W Industries' latest vessel, an extensive overhaul to the old Federation Public-class named Spaghetti al Dente, ostensibly named after a war hero.

Instead, Cardi was absorbed in his own plans. The Sinweaver now lay on the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean, hence Cardi and Wedge Fourteen's long absence from the occurrences at hand. Cardi had since learned not to put Wedge in charge of fuel management.

Even still, once the company had fished the two from the drink and sent them up to their space facilities, Cardi had immediately been put in charge of a unit of prototype overhauls based out of the Spaghetti al Dente. Cardi conveniently read his orders in such a way to interpret them as warrants to act with complete autonomy and total impunity, so long as he billed his actions as "field tests" for the bizarre machines in his charge.

So Cardi and Wedge had spent the last week bullying (read: killing off) small bands of pirates and mercenaries and like in what was effectively a sanctioned murder joyride.

While taking in resupply at Side 6, Cardi had been informed of the movements of space pirates through the province. Apparently these pirates had a large, exotic, and unidentifiable vessel, unlike the battered surplus and leftovers sported by other pirate crew. Intrigued, Cardi had his unit pursue from a safe distance until such time as he'd find it opportune to strike.

Finally he heeded the skipper. "Yes, Capt. Ragu?"

"What I'm saying is that these pirates appear to headed straight for Trinary! Also could you do us a favor and not float above me and the crew? We don't want to see-"

"Trinary? What's this Trinary? Sounds dumb."

"It's a crucial Federation control point." No doubt the captain wondered why personnel from other dimensions weren't briefed more properly.

"I see. How long until these pirates reach Trinary?"

"Only a few hours, though I doubt a pirate crew would do something so rash as to attack-"

"You're to address me as 'sir', by the way."

"No I'm not."

"True, true. Anyway, no matter what you say I'm pretty sure these guys are attacking this big gun platform or whatever it is. I can feel it in my gut. That's something you people born in this world wouldn't understand, squares that you are."

"What is it you propose we do about it? Are you trying to aid these pirates in raiding Trinary?" The captain inclined his head pointedly to punctuate his question, but immediately regretted the new angle of view.

"Aid the pirates? Are you stupid?"

"So you'll destroy the pirates in hopes the Federation will reward us somehow?"

"Christ, let me talk for one second. Do all you bridge types just hurl barrages of stupid questions by nature, or do they train you? In any case, as I was about to explain before you decided you need more spoken lines, we won't be helping some dumb pirates or the Federation. We'll just destroy both and take this Trinary thing for ourselves."

The five-minute silence in the bridge was deafening. Finally the captain broke it. "Well, there's no reason it can't be done, right?"

"Of course not," Cardi winked and gave the skipper a thumbs-up, "That's why they put you under my command, Cap'n. Now, I need to prepare Wedge for sortie, so his physical state will be in full readiness by the time we reach weapons range."

"Wedge," the skipper shook his head and sighed, "He's a monster in a mobile weapon, but sometimes I wonder if he's a greater danger to himself, what with the things they do to his mind and body."

"It's not your job to worry about that, old man," Cardi snapped as he brought his muscular frame back to the deck, much to the relief of the bidge crew, "Just get this ship there so we can kill these bastards. My soul tells me there's more at stake here than a bunch of fish we can slash and burn. Something tells me that this Trinary place, though I only just learned of its existence minutes ago, holds something very close to me."

"How would you even know that? Aren't you just guessing at this point?"

"Good Lord, stop it with the questions! Again! Gawd."

And then Cardi was out the door.

Kyle's black VF-25S Full Armor was launched behind a team of VF-11. As they moved in to assault the ships with their FAST pack missile loads he just dived down and around. "I'm going to shoot my way into the target Nazca class." He called out to the Gray Wolf as he fired his beam guns and two large beam cannons from his FA a Fandom unit that got in his way. His target was the Nazca class and he began his own assault on it by launching 10 missiles at its deck to try and disable its main guns. Then activating his PPB he absorbed incoming CIWS fire as he charged into the fray.

-VF-11Gs-

The 6 wings of fighters had been launched as quickly as possible. Then they spread out into their 12 respective teams of 4 and began to engage Fandom forces around the ships. Thanks to the upgrade of PPBs they were easily able to shake off beam fire that would have originally destroyed them easily. Then they returned fire with missiles and gunpod fire.

-Northhampton class ships-

The three Northhampton class stealth frigates targeted the main enemy ship (Necrocomicia something or nother) with their main converging energy cannons and anti-ship missiles. They also fired their deck dual energy cannons at the ship to try and cripple it quickly. They weren't out to destroy it but they were out to damage it as quickly as possible. Hopefully with the surprise attack and their stealth feature initiative would allow them to deal surprising damage fast.

Wedge Fourteen was quickly released from his sleep chamber, an acidic mix of disgusting almost chunky fluid had dried up on the man's clothes. Wedge his eyes bloodshot and his face badly needing a shave eyed the poor man who was tasked with waking him up.

"This better be good Prego...I was having a wonderful dream"

Lt. Prego swallowed silently as Fourteen edged near. "I've got news...We're taking some base known as the trinary."

Wedge slumped against the wall his body trembling almost violently as he could barely muster the strength to stand up straight.

"Don't you mean Tristars?"

"No I mean trinary"

"I think it's supposed to be Tristars..."

"Well it isn't. Just because you think it should be tristars doesn't mean it's tristars. It's trinary and it's always been trinary."

"No you're an idiot you know that?"

"Excuse me?"

"I said you're an idiot."

"Well thats a bit rude isn't it?"

"Yes it is. It's also rude to wake someone up and expect them to do your everywhim without even a "Hi wedge howya feeling!"

Prego took a step back bewildered. "Oh i didn't know..."

"Well yeah! Next time you should think about that kind of stuff. It's pretty impolite you know."

"Well i'm sorry...How're you feeling?"

"NO!!" Wedge yelled slamming his fist into the wall sending a slight vibration throughout the ship.

"You can't do it now! You have to do it when i'm not expecting it."

"Oh well....Cardi wants you to get ready. We need to have your machines up and running and ready for this operation."

Wedge with a puzzled look on his face simply asked. "What operation?"

"To capture Trinary..."

"No you mean Tristars"

Ragu kept his cool and simply asked.

"Hey wedge how're you feeling?"

"I'm feeling great prego! How's your wife? Still on maternity leave?"

Amist the fire of the battle field near a Salamis Kai no one noticed less than a glimmer weaving towards the rear of the ship though both friendly and hostile fire. aAter passing far enough behind the ship Raven stopped and in the total silence of space fired three shots form his Magna beam rifle straight at the ships engines. the Cruiser Exploded; shrapnel taking out several of the less skilled pilots nearby.

Raven was quietly taking out ship after ship he had totaled four so far and now a juicy prize waited nearby. An Alexandria class vessel was the next target of the Fandom forces. the Guaiz and GN-X's began to advance towards the defenders

(Not that I know of --- I'm just mainly responsible for the Necronomicon and Trinary. Anyone go ahead and control it.)

Trinary, Dogos Gear-class Battleship Hemingway

"Sir! The Mobile Suits are suffering heavy casualties --- Squadrons 12-23 have been annihilated and the other squadrons are beginning to fall back towards Trinary and us! Unknown enemy ship and Fandom ships are pushing towards our fleet!"

Dolleen clenched his fist tightly in anger, rooting himself into his command chair while the other five officers in his cohort looked around and looked on. So far the fighting hadn't reached the fleet yet, much of the flashes and explosions occurring in front; the Mobile Suits were falling back a little as the enemy approached Trinary. "Has there been any response yet to our distress call?"

"We've got a message from the Grey Wolf; They report that they'll be here soon."

Soon might not be good enough, Dolleen realized bleakly, sneering. Still, the Grey Wolf...wasn't that Theo Rawn's task group? Dolleen knew Theo Rawn well, by his distinctive appearance if not by his reputation; He knew Rawn to be an extremely competent commander, if nothing else, but the odds were nonetheless stacked against them here. Damnit...why haven't the Old Men thought of refitting this place? Or at least holding a Naval Review or two here, at least...?

"Sir? You're the highest-ranking officer here in Trinary. Your orders?"

"Turn the fleet around! Order the ships to target their guns on the enemy unknown ship and concentrate all fire on it while the Mobile Suits do their best to hold off theirs!" Dolleen quickly ordered; He wouldn't be a Vice Admiral if he couldn't make decisive orders, at least. "If we can sink their ship, we might be able to break their morale if not their chain of command, then we'll go after the Fandom Nascas---" The alarm klaxon suddenly sounded again, causing Dolleen to gasp slightly at that; He sat up, suddenly having a very bad feeling. "Sonar! What is it this time!?"

The reply from the comm officer, stammering and nervous, was not what Dolleen wanted to hear.

"...The...Trinary's lost all contact with the Fritz Ashlyn!" The announcement caused everyone on the bridge to gasp in disbelief. Trinary's namesake satellites...gone? How was that possible!? "They're reporting...enemy Mobile Armor detected! It must've been what destroyed the Fritz Ashlyn's hardline!"

This brought on an entirely new list of suspicions --- the enemy was not only powerful beyond normal Space Pirates, but also well aware of Trinary's weaknesses. The attack was meticulously planned; This was no coincidence, and Dolleen could only wonder if---

"There's a Mobile Suit behind us! It's destroyed one of our Cruisers and attacking the Firefly!" Dolleen's eyes widened in shock. These Fandom Mobile Suits were making mincemeat out of the biggest force in the Outer Rim, and--- "More Mobile Suits! Bearing 3-1-4, three of them, somehow they've gotten through our Mobile Suit screen! They're heading straight for the Hemingway!"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The trio of the Gundam Mark II Unit 0, the Raider Gundam and the Forbidden Gundam had charged through Trinary's Mobile Suit screen from underneath the fleet's starboard planes and emerged near Trinity just as much of the fleet were prepared to blast continuous beam volleys at the Necronomicon. Approaching at full speed, the three pilots gave a loud battle cry in unison; With Raven providing superb distraction, it was all the other Salamis Kais and Alexandrias could do to turn their beam cannons at the three. Purple beams danced around the trio --- Heavy Weapons Guy was first, and directly behind him were Zero Murasame on the Gundam Mark II Unit 0 and Gyunei Guss on the Raider Gundam --- igniting the space around them as the three charged right into, and then through, the formation of Salamis Kais.

Soon, they were near the very center of the formation. Heavy Weapons Guy laughed loudly as he saw two Salamis Kais turning their guns towards them; Their side cannons fired a volley of purple beams just as the Forbidden Gundam transformed into its Close Combat Mode, the backpack fitting over its head, and brought its two Geschmeidig Panzer armor binders in front of it and the group. The volleys were accurate, but useless; The beams slammed into an invisible wall of force just as they were about to connect with the Forbidden Gundam and reflected harmlessly away, one of the beams hitting and damaging a third Salamis Kai from the port side.

Then the Forbidden Gundam's railguns and beam cannons fired as they neared, the various beams and shots tearing into one Salamis Kai's bridge section and ripping it asunder; As that cruiser began listing slightly to the starboard out of control and the second was about to fire its missiles, a large shot rang out from behind HWG, past the Forbidden Gundam on its left side, and slammed straight into its midsection. The blast had shot out its reactor and, in a fury of secondary explosions, that Salamis Kai promptly atomized in a bright pink fireball as well.

Behind the two destroyed cruisers, the now-vulnerable Hemingway loomed before them --- and Shadow Company was charging straight for it. "All guns, fire!" Dolleen barked urgently, his voice slightly panicking now. "Shoot them down!"

Then the Hemingway's array of guns blazed just as the trio neared striking distance, flashing around them, all of those that hit parried by the Melee Tank of the party --- what wasn't blocked by the Geschmeidig Panzer merely impacted harmlessly against the Forbidden Gundam's Trans-Phase Shift Armor. All three pilots breathed deeply. It was time.

"Hahahaha! Умрите!"

"Fall into the void!"

"Dieeeeee!!!"

The Forbidden Gundam suddenly zoomed ahead of the group, scythe bared. Its railguns fired two red-colored shots at one of the Hemingway's main guns, rendering it little more than a wrecked stub, as the ship continued raining fire at it. "Bang!" Then HWG suddenly swerved upwards once it was within near point-blank range...revealing its main body to his two colleagues.

Zero attacked first, leaping off the Raider Gundam as Gyunei transformed, the Gundam Mark II Unit 0 rocketing upwards and above the Hemingway. "All of you shall fall into the void!!!" With beam rifle pointed, Zero fired three large shots, limiter set to maximum, from that vantage point downwards at the Hemingway, destroying its left flight deck, right engine array and a second of its main guns; at that time, the Raider Gundam had moved underneath its stern side, opposite Zero...and it was swinging its Mjolnir Hammer in wide circles.

"I can beat Taisa...I can beat him! I can beat him any day of the week!"

The Mjolnir swung forward as Gyunei released, curving slightly, and impacted the Hemingway's underside, dead on, the force of the blow nudging the ship upwards at the same time HWG sidestrafed the ship's port side, firing its beam cannons twice into the side rudders, as Zero circled towards the stern as well. But they did not strike the fatal blow --- The Alpha Azieru that now came at the Hemingway, dead on, did. Sensing everyone in front, confused, frightened, hostile towards the person she now served...Quess felt her blood boil, unknown emotions welling in her. Which she narrowed her eyes, sneered, and suppressed, leaving only hatred in her heart. The six on board the Hemingway had to die.

"Everyone...diiiiiiiiiiie!!!"

"!!!" As he stared at the Alpha Azieru dead-on, heading at him, Dolleen suddenly saw something in his mind --- the multicolored light erupting from its mouth that served to shine on him, envelop him with energy...the explosion at the base of the Cardi Doorl from the corner of his eye, where the Alpha Azieru's funnels had attacked it with surgical precision. All of it gave him something else. Him, and the five officers around him, all called here on a meeting at that very time, all prior to the attack on Trinary. All six of them here because they had decided to oppose something. Oppose...

Then in that instant everything clicked.

Project Sirene! Dolleen's mind exclaimed, and the clarity rid him of all the fear. Only anger remained. Anger at dying. Anger at him. We are all called here because of Project Sirene. He had called us here to kill us...because we opposed his---

The Hemingway's upper section disintegrated then, and all thoughts faded away from Vice Admiral Sheldon Dolleen.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There shall be no sympathy vote, old men, Melodius smiled to himself when Shadow Company's report came in. They had succeeded; Sheldon Dolleen, the five others in cohorts with him, were dead. Which meant it no longer mattered if the Dezpada was seen in Trinary now --- the only men and women in the Federation who could possibly have had recognized it, and the people who might've had an inkling as to what it really was --- had been eliminated. There must be no sympathy vote.

"Ah, complete Dungeoncrawl party, a Tank, a Melee DPSer, a Ranged DPSer, and a Mage...I have to admit, TM, you've almost got a complete efficient party there. Have Shadow Company head for the mcred23 and finish it off!" Melodius ordered, as the SPARTANs and Fandom continued fighting off the Mobile Suits, and Shadow Company and Raven combined were making short work of the Salamis Kais and Alexandrias --- the garrison fleet now in disarray with the lost of poor Vice Admiral Dolleen. Thrawn was nowhere, but Melodius suspected he wouldn't be far behind.

He nodded knowingly, and placed his hands assertively into his pockets. It might be time to test out the SPARTANs' mettle, after all; The Mercurius and its Planet Defensors was specifically designed to counter the Lunar Corp's VF-series Valkyries, in fact. "Tuxedo Mask, pull us ahead full, towards Trinary, and prepare for Missile Bombardment against Trinary as soon as the Phase Shift Field is taken down. Land boarding parties on the Cardi Doorl as soon as it is safe to do so."

Then Thrawn's task force appeared --- right behind them and the Fandom. The Lunar Corp ships were even beginning their attack on the Necronomicon, the ship rocked slightly where some of their beams got too close. Melodius snorted derisively --- Right on schedule. "Right. SPARTANs!" Melodius simply cried out --- they knew what to do. "Phalanx!!!"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

All at once, the Mercuriuses, Vayeates and Serpents collapsed right back towards the Necronomicon in unison and seemingly perfect harmony just as Theo Rawn's force appeared behind them as the enemy Mobile Weapons headed straight for the flagship. Then, in equal unison, they spaced themselves out evenly, as if rehearsed, the Mercuriuses forming a ring around the Necronomicon in all directions, the Vayeates behind, and the Serpents behind them still.

Then all 30 Mercuriuses emitted their Planet Defensors at once.

Doubled, tripled layers of Planet Defensor fields formed around the entire group belonging to the Necronomicon, forming the modern version of the Shield Walls that the Spartans of old were known for, surrounding the Necronomicon with an almost completely impenetrable field of protection. The beams and volleys from the initial barrage from the Grey Wolf team slammed and deflected away from this field; Then the Vayeates and Serpents attacked back, the Vayeates charging their Beam Cannons and firing large potshots at the Grey Wolf and the Northhamptons, and the Serpents blazing their Gatling Guns and missiles at any Valkyries and Mobile Suits getting close. Any suit needing reloading or repairs would dock to the Necronomicon's exterior where four Methusses were waiting with needed field repairs.

Melodius was not worried at all. For now.

Good. You're making my job even easier than I expected. mused Rawn as he saw the enemy machines take up a totally defensive posture to protect their ship, thus leaving the primary task force unhindered. The mobile suit forces around the Nazca class ships were simply overwhelmed by the numbers and firepower of the Rawn fleet as the GM Dynames took out the weapons on the lead Nazca as well as blowing open the hanger door to allow the assault transports into the empty hanger.

Rawn took note of how Maarek Stele was fairing in the battle and he was becoming quite adept at using his fin funnels. The larger numbers of mobile dolls among the Fandom troops worked to their disadvantage as they could not predict where the remotes would be next and were easily taken out either by the funnels themselves, or Maarek's own beam rifle, or even a missile from a VF.

The other five Nazcas were also taking various amounts of damage and their MS force wasn't faring much better. Even the GN-X units were struggling to hold their own against the surprise onslaught.

The Gwanzine was managing to keep the force at bay for now. However all that changed when the large brown craft began it's attack run on the large red ship.
It started in fighter mode as it came at full throttle almost as if it were aiming to impale itself on the bow protrusion of the craft, when the pilot switched the mode on the massive craft to GERWALK mode and came in on the bow above the protrusion.

The beast touched down on the red ship and proceeded to skid and slide up the bow area to where it stopped just short of the main bridge.
It then leveled it's 40cm rail cannons parallel with the main bridge. The view from the bridge would be an interesting one what with looking down the barrels of 4 massive guns and all.

"Yippee-ki-ay, motherf***ers!" shouted the gunner on board the König Monster just before he pulled the trigger that sent the high explosive rounds through the bridge and into the depths of the ship beyond where they exploded and set off secondary explosions throughout the vessel.

The crew of the Monster had plenty of time to disengage and withdraw away from the Gwanzine to have a good vantage point of the fireworks that would consume the ship.

Wraith

Wraith was not happy with what had just happened; the crew of the monster would not live through this fight. Raven and the GN-Xs returned to their ships as the Gwazine exploded. The GuAIZs would be more than enough to finish the greatly diminished Trinary forces.

Wraith began by releasing 4 remote slashers which would track and destroy nearby 4 enemies. then shimmering into existence the 008 boosted forward and sent a signal. This signal was received by the rearmost Nazca and in response a long device was launched; This device swerved and weaved through the battle field thanks to the addition of a mobile doll AIsoon it was plucked out of the air by the 008. Wraith Hefted the device and fired a powerful blast at the Monster one which would swallow it and possibly several nearby fighters whole.

-Necronomicon-

The Monster kicked off the Gwanzine's body just as, all of a sudden, a shower of beam fire came at it from another direction at the same time Wraith made his own attack against it --- followed by a rapidly approaching, thruster-blazing LRX-088 Dezpada, which then wheeled backwards, left, and fired a second volley from its Beam Cannon as it then headed around --- straight for Stele's MP Nu Gundam. Melodius scoffed at the sight. The Fandom were getting pounded, and if left unchecked, there would be nothing left of the Fandom to actually invade Trinary, which makes the entire attack moot --- which, for the Necronomicon, would otherwise leave only one single option.

And since Melodius wasn't willing to open the SPARTANs' defence to come to the Fandom's aid, that meant he would have to do this himself. "Hah." Melodius muttered. "Come, then. Nice try, but it won't affect the tide of this battle..."

A third bright explosion right there and then told the Necronomicon that the mcred23 had suffered a similar fate --- and at once, along with the Gwanzine's destruction, the rainbow-colored field around Trinary itself began receding...and shrinking. After seven seconds, the field disappeared, leaving Trinary exposed at last. Melodius' mind clicked, feeling Shadow Company finishing their task --- it was time for the next step. "Alright! Let's rattle Thrawn's saber a little...Necronomicon, begin missile bombardment! Target --- Trinary! Inform the remaining Fandom ships to move forward after the bombardment. Shadow Company, edge out of the line of fire and return to the Necronomicon. TM."

"Did you call for me, Commander?"

"Launch when you are ready. Stay with the Necronomicon and guard it from the VF-series." Melodius said, and firing a salvo of missiles at Stele to open off, the Dezpada made full speed as, behind him, the Necronomicon showed off another of the added features the retrofit gave it: a repeated volley of missiles launched out of the frontal ship missile launchers and, en-masse, flew at the now-exposed Trinary and what was left of the garrison forces, explosions edging quickly towards the base...

"Omega leader to Grey Wolf, mission complete. The Nazca class Hermes is now under our control and we are beginning our retreat."

"Acknowledged, Omega leader." replied Rawn.
"All ships and mobile units, begin withdrawal of the area."

At that moment the Trinary defense finally failed. The base would soon be overrun.

I'll not give them their prize for this battle.

"Attention all defenders of the Trinary. This is Captain Theo Rawn of the Grey Wolf. Abandon the outpost at once and retreat with us at once.

On my authority, NSM-2532 Omega Gamma, execute Code: Nero."

Narrator: "Code: Nero. A self destruct device of sorts incorporated into the Axis asteroid itself and the defense Trinary outposts that defended it.
Unique in that it did not outright destroy the object it was installed in. Instead, it altered the composition of whatever it was linked to, into a low grade carbon compound that was as brittle as the graphite used in pencil lead.
Developed for the Axis asteroid and used at other similar bases where short of using nuclear warheads, the base could not be effectively destroyed by conventional means. In the case of Axis, the Federation wanted to make sure it would be unusable as a base for the Fandom, or worse, itself dropped onto Earth.
The change would be slow and not apparent until almost done, taking several hours to complete, but once started, it could not be stopped."

- Maarek Stele -

Damn, and I wanted to even the score from last time.

"It seems that I don't have time to play with you today." said Maarek as he fired off several shots in the direction of the Dezpada while heading back to the Grey Wolf.

Just as the Trinary's remaining garrison forces began retreat, trailing blazes of fire came at them from behind after the garrison as Shadow Company returned towards the Necronomicon, adding their fire against the retreating Federation forces; With the Forbidden Gundam still leading the formation and the Alpha Azieru behind it, Wired Beam Cannons firing with Quess' mental targeting, the Necronomicon was turning around along with its SPARTAN Shield Wall.

Melodius turned and spun, dancing out of the way of Stele's volley of fire, and took a quick note of the situation. The Federation was in full retreat, having captured one of the Nazcas from the Fandom, and Shadow Company's return fire only managed to whittle down the garrison's number some more. It didn't matter; if the Federation abandoned Trinary, that was not Melodius' problem.

Near the Necronomicon, a multicolored hail of beam fire suddenly erupted towards the Grey Wolf as the Federation ship turned to retreat, coming from a large, grey-and-green 40m-tall Super Robot resembling a Gundam-type that now hovered next to the Necronomicon. Within the robot, Tuxedo Mask laughed stylishly, flicking his arm; With the Big O destroyed, the Duraxyll served his purposes nicely enough. And the Federation was running at the sight of him!

Soon, the Grey Wolf and the garrison were away; the Necronomicon didn't pursue. Melodius stopped the Dezpada and nodded to himself --- it was over. Whether or not the Fandom manages to garrison Trinary in turn doesn't matter; With the Federation's watchdog gone from the Outer Rim, the whole area would spiral into chaos, if not bolster the Fandom's power in space outright. And since the Cardi Doorl had been blasted away from Trinary when Shadow Company severed its hardline, it was not affected by Nero (nor would the equally-adrift Fritz Ashlyn and mcred23).

Other than what was on it, Melodius had a use for the asteroid module.

Only when the Federation forces were out of the battle range did the SPARTANs finally drop their phalanx and began advancing with the Necronomicon again towards the Cardi Doorl. Melodius wheeled his Dezpada around towards the ship; TM and his Duraxyll hovered, waiting. So many objectives completed in one stroke, and the most important one was finished spectacularly...Melodius smiled. His Master would be proud. "Rolecall for resupplies and Spell Recovery. SPARTANs, have your Rings of Sustenances ready and begin establishing your Watch Shifts. Proceed with landing parties on the Cardi Doorl and take what we can onto the Necronomicon, then tow the asteroid with us.

"And tell the Fandom that Trinary is all theirs."
