TARRRPG Chapter 6: Point Alpha

- Ceres -

The Minerva class warship descended from it's former high altitude trajectory coming down to normal operational altitudes over the state of Arizona.
Ryker wanted to approach the site known as Point Alpha with some degree of stealth and not just drop into the area where a potential ambush could be waiting for them.
Things below deck had also been cleaned up and at least looked like nothing had happened although the reality was far different.

"Status report." called Ryker to the lower part of the bridge.

"All systems normal. We're crusing towards the old Vandenburg base and there are no Fandom forces in the area." came the reply.

the same black shadow that had just escaped security personnel traveled through the Lunar Corp satellite though no camera's managed to see it. Several personnel thought they saw something out of the corner of their eye but when they looked and found nothing they immediately dismissed it.

the shadow finally flitted down a different service tunnel and found itself in space. there floating near the satellite was a GN-X; missing an arm, leg and head the pilot had ejected only to find himself gunned down by a surviving Cheyenne. the drive however was fine and thanks to it's radar blocking properties would be perfect for getting away.

the GN-X seemingly drifted into the station and rebounded; heading ,apparently unmanned, towards the Fandom fleet.

- Osprey -
- Thirty minutes before the Ceres’ Arrival -

Strike looked uncharacteristically grave as he studied the printout of the report that he had requested a few minutes before. Though the Osprey's sensors had been knocked completely offline when it had been hit by the effects of the EMP bomb, a projected flight path of the intruder's Gundam Gold Frame Amatu had been collected, calculated and archived for later viewing. Despite their confusion and utter nonchalance, the bridge workers had complied with his request and had the data available to him in a matter of minutes.

Normally, he wouldn’t have even bothered to take such a measure. The enemy had long since disappeared from the area—he hadn’t even bothered to take a shot at the downed carrier ship. Not only that, despite the damage their forces had recently sustained, he surely wouldn’t have posed a significant threat in a single Gundam. To top everything off, they were about to be transferred to a new battle ship—a Minerva class of all things—and joined by Kyle and his new Valkyrie squadron. Their forces would be totally invincible now. There wasn’t any reason for him to feel uneasy.

So why was he feeling uneasy?

It was a question Strike found increasingly difficult to answer the more he thought about it. Perhaps it was the fact that the intruder was still a complete mystery. He had managed to stow himself aboard the Osprey and avoid detection completely for the entire time they had been in the air. It would have creeped him out far less if he had made some attempt to sink the aircraft. But all he had done was watch them from the shadows—and thanks to that, they had absolutely no idea what his plans might be.

Or maybe it was the fact that he had taken the dead Fandom officer's body along with him when he escaped. Strike simply couldn't allow himself to be settled after hearing about that. He couldn't explain why… it’s was just that he couldn't shake the nagging and inexorably increasing bad feeling that if they didn't do something about it, it would come back to bite them all in their behinds later.

This is why Strike had decided to commit himself to tracking the man down, finding out exactly what he was up to, and stopping him if necessary. Naturally, the idea was completely ridiculous, which is why he hadn’t bothered to tell anybody about it. After all, how was he supposed to track a stealth mobile suit in the middle of nowhere? But, upon reflecting upon the situation, Strike had had a rare moment of ingenuity, and come up with a sure fire method to locate him using the facts that they had been left with.

The man had been acting on his own; that much was certain. In all likelihood, he had boarded the ship and stowed his invisible mobile suit on top the Osprey before it had even left Gibraltar. But, even without any backup, Strike knew that a man who had planned an infiltration as carefully as he did would also have ensured that his escape would be flawless—not only in terms of evacuating the ship safely, but also in having someplace to escape to. While there were no known Fandom installations anywhere near the Osprey’s current location, he had simply proven himself too smart a man to allow himself to be stranded in the middle of the desert. Using this fact and the known operational limits of the Gold Frame Amatu, Strike had come to the obvious conclusion: the infiltrator had a secret camp that he could return to, and one that was not all that far away from their position. If he then combined this fact with the projected flight path of the intruder's mobile suit, then he had a reasonable estimate as to the location of the infiltrator's camp.

He had to find him—he wouldn’t be satisfied until he did so. But of course, the team had other matters to take care of, and Captain Ryker would never approve of sending him and his Blu Duel out alone on a trek across the desert. So, he decided that he would leave on his own. There would be more than enough confusion in the transfer to the Ceres for him to slip away unnoticed. It was a risky plan, Strike knew. He didn’t know if he would find the intruder—and there was no guarantee that he could defeat the intruder’s Amatu even if he did.

But… what the hell. It wasn’t not as if he was really needed around here anyway. The attack on Suez would proceed without a hitch without him; Strike would bet his life on it.

He flipped the paper over and began to scribble out a note. Once he finished, he laid it out on his bed.
To whom it may concern,

I have taken it upon myself to steal military hardware—more specifically, my Gundam—and track down the Fandom soldier that appeared on the Osprey. I have been able to determine the general area where he might be hiding. Once I find him, I intend to take him down and find out what the guy is up to.

I’ll understand completely if you don’t send anybody after me. In fact, I would consider it completely irresponsible to waste any more of our valuable personnel on this idiotic venture. However, I certainly hope you don’t hold it against me. This is just something I have to do. The bad feeling I’ve had ever since he left is just too much for me to ignore.

Well, that about covers it. Wish me luck. You know… so that I don’t die, and stuff.

-SZ
- Osprey Hanger -
- Ceres Arrival -

The Ceres had finally arrived. As Strike had anticipated, it was indeed a sight to behold. It was a shame that he wouldn’t be getting to check it out.

Strike maneuvered his Blu Duel out the Osprey’s hanger. However, as he skirted around on his hover jet’s, instead of following the others aboard the massive Minerva class, he casually slowed, reversed, and started along the ground away from the ship. Plugging in the coordinates he had calculated, Strike set the Blu Duel to autopilot. For several minutes, he waited for somebody to notice, somebody to ask where he was going. Apparently, he really wasn’t important enough for anybody to really care, as was able to move several kilometers away from the ships without being called for it.

“See you whenever, guys,” Strike said softly. With that, he and his Blu Duel sped off into the distance, hot on the mysterious intruder’s trail.

- Twenty minutes later -

“Goddamit… I thought I told them not to follow me?”

His radar registered a contact, approaching from behind and at high speed from the air. FOF indicated that it was with the Federation.

Strike sighed and turned around. Guess it was time to face the music. The mobile suit approached and eventually he was able to recognize it as—

His eyes widened. “Spartan Gundam? Stellar?”

The Spartain Gundam touched down about ten meters in front of the Blu Duel. Strike opened a COM line and sure enough, Stellar’s image appeared on the monitor.

“Why did they send you of all people…?” Strike said. Then he had a realization.

“Wait… do the others know you’re here?”

Stellar looked down, thinking, then shrugged.

“Then go back. You don’t need to come with me, I’ve just got to take care of some stuff.”

Stellar shook her head. Strike sighed again.

“This is dangerous. I mean, of course it’s dangerous, but more dangerous than usual. I don’t need you to be putting yourself in—“

“I…” Stellar interupted

“I’m fine. I don’t need help. There’s no need—“ Strike stopped and did a double take. Did she just say ‘I’?

“I… want to go with you,” Stellar said, slowly. “I… want to fight by your side.”

Strike stared at Stellar, mouth half agape, unsure of how to respond. “Y-you’re serious? You could really die this time,” he finally stuttered.

Stellar nodded, her expression replaced with a look of confidence. “I know. But… I’ve still… decided.”

“Well… I’ll be g**damned…” Strike said after several more seconds of silence. Then he smiled. “You know what? Forget what I just said. I need all the help I can get. Let’s go!”

Stellar smiled back. “Roger!”

The Blu Duel did an abrupt about-face. Then, it took off back along its path, the Spartan Gundam at its side.

As he rode, Strike cast another look in the Spartan Gundam’s direction and smiled again.

“You’ve grown… so much more than I would’ve thought possible…”

- Fandom Alexandria-class Mother Wind -
- Storage Bay -

Marlene found herself here a lot now. She didn’t know why… she just preferred to be in the presence of the GN drive she had stolen several days before… in the presence of its power.

She ran a hand along the devices smooth, metal casing. “Soon, its new vessel will be complete…” she said to no one in particular.

Her gaze drifted above and beyond the GN drive to the various mobile suit hanging on storage racks behind it. All of them were custom made—designed by none other than Marlene herself—the parts for her new soon-to-be GN mobile suit.

She had heard that somebody had done something similar on Earth—adapted a GN drive for use in another mobile suit. It was a crude accomplishment—paling in comparison for what she would soon achieve. The mobile suit being constructed was designed to maximize the use of the infinite GN particles—a true beast of a machine.

“Once it’s complete… nobody will be able to stop me… not even him…”

Her thoughts were suddenly interrupted by an explosion that rocked the entire ship.

“What in the hell?!” she cursed as she got up and began sprinting for the bridge. Who could be attacking them? Or… was it that pilot she had brought aboard?

- Mother Wind -
- Hanger -

Corporal Victor Simmons sprinted into the hanger just in time to see the Gundam Chaos break free from the restraints they had previously secured it in.

“Damn it!” He cried as he made for the Xeku Eins parked next to it. Luckily, it was ready and waiting for launch, so it only took a few seconds to get it up and moving. His monitor powered on… and he was able to witness the Gundam blast a gaping hole in the side of the Mother Wind’s hull. It then sped out the opening, only to turn around…

“Oh no!” he cried. He punched the thrusters and the Xeku Eins shot forward after the Gundam just as it let loose with its torrent of missiles, all of them aimed for the opening it had made

Simmons opened fire, even though he knew full well he couldn’t shoot them all down in time. There was only one thing for him to do…

“I won’t… let you sink her! Never!”

He charged forward. The Xeku Eins slammed into the wall of missiles and was engulfed in fire instantly. Though Simmons was lost, he managed to take the majority of the missiles with him, and only a few over a half dozen continued towards their target. The damage done to the Mother Wind was not insignificant… but the ship was saved, for now.

- Mother Wind -
- Bridge -

“Report!” Marlene shouted as she arrived at the bridge.

“The enemy Gundam just busted out of the hanger, ma’am!” an officer responded. “It is now en route to the enemy warship Grey Wolf!

Marlene seethed as the images on the monitors in front of her confirmed this. She cursed both that bastard for daring to damage her ship, as well as herself for making the rash decision to bring him on board in the first place.

“New contact! It just appeared on radar. It’s… engaging the Federation forces?”

“What? Is it one of ours?”

“Unknown ma’am. Bringing it up on screen.”

The image of yet another Gundam appeared. It was equipped with remote weapons and was indeed engaging the Gundam Chaos and the Nu Gundam.

“Orders, ma’am?”

Marlene paused. “We’ll wait. He seems to be doing quite well. I’ll be interested to see if he could salvage the situation for us.”

“We… we’re not going to support?” the officer asked warily.

“No…” Marlene said through clenched teeth. “We are no match for both the Nu Gundam and the Gundam Chaos, and we have no idea to whom that third Gundam belongs to. So, as I said, we will wait, we will see what happens, then we will determine out next move.”

She said nothing after that, but continued to watch the bout between the three Gundams. The appearance of this new unknown unit had just made things a lot more complicated…

Fandom forces were in retreat and his missile assault had pushed them back at a faster pace. At this point he would have used reaction weapons to kill them all if he had too. His previous fear of Wraith was replaced with an unqenchable hunger that ate at him. He had never felt such an emotion before and it took everything he had to not give chase...

"Sir we never found that Fandom fellow you locked inside. He seems to have escaped..." The transmit came over his radio just to create a darker emotion in him. The man he had almost been killed by had just escaped alive and would return.

"I want all equipment and data transfered to the Moon. This base is indefensible anymore... Once everything is loaded and backed up I want the base wiped clean. Use a reaction weapon for all I care, just make sure nothing is left for the Federation or the Fandom to pick over." Kyle was obviously angry and everyone did their jobs like he asked. Then he finally got the message from the captain of the Gray Wolf.

"I'll be coming aboard soon. I ask for an escort of Lunar Corp forces back home. I'll try to explain things to you later but it would help if you found a way to get rid of the extra fleet. I don't want them around and I'll explain more in depth soon." With that his VF fighter took off towards the older ship with the three stealth frigates finishing loading along with several support transports. They had lost most of their forces so there was no way they could get back to the Moon on their own.

Upon arrival on the ship he parked his fighter, still in FA mode, and hopped out. His leg armor was gone and he had almost lost that entire leg. He had his EX-gear ejected and tried to walk towards the bridge in a limp. He was pretty well banged up and he looked like crap. and if it wasn't for the wall he would probably fall to the ground exhausted.

A few hours after the good doctor had been eviscerated like a Mortal Kombat fatality move come to life, Terrace felt that it was finally safe to reveal his Newtype abilities to the rest of the Gundam Team.

He started seeking out team members who didn't know yet (Kirie, and Mike once he came around) and told the GM Heavyarms pilots Ralph and Joe. His wingmen took it in suprising stride, Ralph telling him, "I knew there was something special about you." For once, Terrace, who didn't easily make friends back in his home dimension, felt like he was where he belonged.

Pity someone planned to ruin it for him.

-Secret Base, Underneath Hoover Dam-

It would appear that the time for me to make my move has arrived. Terrace must be set on his way to the path that destiny has written for him.

The shadowy figure got up and entered a hangar, revealing a red and black Gundam-type Mobile Suit.

Starting it up, his face was bathed in light, revealing a face that would have resembled Terrace greatly... except for the mass of scars all over the left side of his face.

I, Two-Face, will ensure Terrace joins me. The timeline must be preserved.

Without another word, Two-Face launched his Gundam out from under Hoover Dam, setting himself on an intercept course for the Ceres.

"I understand." And he did. Ever since the contract was made with Lunar Corp for the Thunderbolt, Rawn took to studying them and their history.
Most notable about them was their secretive nature when it came to what they made.
Naturally any company has secrets they want to keep, but Lunar Corp could almost be considered xenophobic in how they conducted themselves if not for their many contracts over the years for various parties. It seemed that Kyle Ryder shared their nature to keep certain things to oneself.

"Send word to the rest of the fleet to regroup and escort the transport ships back to Earth. We'll continue and provide escort for the Lunar Corp survivors. Be sure and tell Maarek and the rest of the mobile suit teams of this as well."

"Acknowledged, sir." replied the comm officer to Rawn's commands.

Things are really starting to heat up if the Fandom is starting to attack neutral cooperations. Still, was this part of your plan, Ms. Sterling?

Kyle was stripped of his NT abilities but he knew that the 'I understand' didn't mean anything. The guy had no idea what was going on and the true reason Lunar Corp didn't want the Federation proper to handle their retreat. Finally though after his horrible limp he entered the office of the good Captain and gave a small salute.

"Sir I think I owe you some good explanation. The Federation isn't to be trust but I can trust you. You and your brother have been good to me despite my not so solid allegiance to the Federation. You deserve the truth..." He gave a weak smile and it was apparent he was exhausted. His whole body hurt and he finally was able to sit in one of the chairs. But not only did his body hurt but he was stressed and damaged mentally. His bloodshot eyes didn't have the same light they use to and his presence wasn't as warm as it was. Instead he seemed to be an empty shell of his original self and now that Kylern had cut him off mentally he was struggling to keep himself together.

-DC Forces-

The obviously oblivious Kylern had no idea what was going with his alternate self in this universe. He had been in relatively mental peace and continued to jet along using his booster equip board. They were quickly moving on the target location but due to their lack of powerful forces he was pessimistic of their chances. Hopefully this trip wouldn't turn into a slaughter fest like many other battles in this crazy universe.

Bandaal-class Land Fortress Helllight, 30 miles away from Vandenburg

Amongst the Fandom, a Bandaal was an immediate rarity --- it was large and heavily armed enough to be its own Mobile Headquarters, and this was the Helllight's exact purpose. Every single Mobile Suit assigned to the first wave of the upcoming offensive was quartered in the Helllight, waiting for showtime; On the bridge, Sergeant-Major Feldman, a short, pudgy-typed man with slightly dark skin, stood in front of the main viewscreen, talking to a much more familiar and recognizable person on the other end of the transmission on the screens.

Ishikawa Shigetaka.

"Commander-in-Chief, we're in position." Feldman reported. Ishikawa nodded, smiling deviously. "We're ready to go as soon as the primary targets get here."

"Excellent." Ishikawa answered. "I've managed to deploy another detachment of units from Japan, Hokkaido, Sendai, and Hawaii to reinforce you --- they'll arrive mid-battle, if it drags on that long. I've also sent something special along; It'll help immensely. I'm expecting all kinds of opposition, but the size of the force under your command will be more than enough to deal with them."

"Yes, Commander. We'll get them." A pause. "...All this for two machines?"

"Both are equally important," Ishikawa nodded in agreement. "Both are to be captured if possible; the Psybuster's pilot can be left alone if he survives, but the other...she must not get away, Feldman, one way or another. Capture, or kill her. At any cost."

Feldman saluted. "Aye, sir."

"Right. All others who stand in your way are to be considered hostiles. Do not let them hinder your primary objectives."

"Aye, sir!"

"Very well. Ishikawa out."

Then Ishikawa's face faded to black, and Feldman sighed in relief, loosening his collar. Ishikawa Shigetaka always made him uneasy for some reason...maybe it was because he was more intelligent than people tend to view him. Federation, DC, or even Fandom. And that made Ishikawa unpredictable to friend and foe alike. "Sonar, anything at Point Alpha yet?"

"Negative, sir," Was the answer from one of the bridge officers. "No other contacts yet."

"They're not here yet. Keep waiting for them...and let's hope nothing else shows up to jeopardize this operation..."

Raven/Wraith

The damaged GN-X floated beyond Federation and Lunar Corp sensors and the Drive came to life. Red particles again flowing from the cone on it's back.

Raven was agitated, the information the Fandom had gathered was wrong; the Lunar Corps' tech and armaments were far greater than he had been told and that pilot had escaped his blade and folded his attempt to finish the base from within. At the very least he was able to finish his assigned mission confirming that neither the mech he was seeking nor it's pilot were there.

the GN-X approached the lead Nazca and got landing permission with his private code. His first task would be to draft a report for his master.

-Hellbore-

Wandering around the ship had become something of a habit for Hellbore. It allowed him to think privately and blow off some steam. The fiasco with Pyshtek had really shaken him and he needed this walk more than ever.

In his reflection he realized that he had not seen the Blu Duel or the Spartan come aboard the Ceres, or participate in the battle at Suez. He decided to head to the bridge to ask the captain.

-Ceres Bridge-

Hellbore reached the bridge in good time taking the shortcuts that only he, or the maintenance crew would know. He rapped on the bridge door and walk in without waiting for a reply. Most faces on the bridge turnes toward him and he spole up without waiting for an invitation.

"Sir, I'm here to report that one 'Strike Zero' and one Stellar Louisier are missing possibly AWOL. They might still be on the Osprey if you can contact them."

-Melodius-

Necronomicon, Side 6 airspace

While the large Jupitris-class carrier moved into Side 6 and its cluster of neutral colonies, Melodius and TM were in the hanger meeting with the four remaining members of the so-called 'Council of Evil'. Melodius' expression was sour; What he saw didn't impress him much. Lined up in front of the only five machines still finished and operational in the heap that was the Necronomicon's main hanger bay; TM's own machine was in his private hanger some ways away.

As Melodius and TM walked alongside the hanger and the line of machines (Melodius noted that he's been doing that a lot lately), the four remaining pilots stood at attention in a line in front. Each of them, Melodius also noticed, resembled some other character he knew --- probably the DM running out of ideas, wanting to save time, or just being plain lazy. Melodius automatically assumed the second and shrugged to himself. The first pilot he came across looked almost as dashing as Melodius did, with green, frizzy and pointy hair slanted leftwards, peach skin and green eyes, wearing a leather flight jacket and pants...Okay, I think I know who you are...Shani? No, too UC to be Shani. Oh, right, Zero Murasame from Gihren's Greed. Damn obscure references. Moving on... "So." Melodius pointed at Zero, who stared creepily back at him. "What's your class?"

"..."

"Hello?"

"..."

"You're Zero Murasame, buddy, not Yuu Kajima. Don't you talk?"

"No."

"...But you just---"

"No."

"Ah, leave him be, Melodius." TM interjected, waving Melodius forward. "He hasn't met his Leila yet, so he's kinda confrontive until that plot point. He pilots that thing, BTW." Melodius blinked as TM pointed out Zero's machine to him --- a dark grey Gundam Mk. II with a larger-barreled Beam Rifle and a Zephyrantes-like Tower Shield. Melodius whistled in approval --- it was the Gundam Mark II Unit 0, the corniness of which he highly approved. "Hmm...that must add a number to your Skirmish damage, doesn't it, Zero? You're a Scout --- half ranged Fighter, half Rogue. Please tell me you have Precise Shot."

Zero glared at him in turn. "I do. Did you think I was some kind of amateur---"

"I didn't say nothing! Moving on..." Melodius threw his hands up into the air and turned to the person next to Zero --- a big, heavily muscled, head-shaved Russian man with an orange flight suit and a bandolier full of...grenades? Melodius o_O'd. "You...wait a minute. You're the Heavy Weapons Guy from Team Fortress 2, aren't you? You have a name?"

Heavy Weapons Guy grinned. "Name is Mikhail Kaminovskyskayasvenanova. Call me Heavy Weapons Guy."

"Sorry?"

That was when TM waved a hand and cut him off. "Trust me, just call him Heavy Weapons Guy, Melodius, it's easier --- believe me, I gave up trying to pronounce his name 5 sessions ago. He pilots that." TM had pointed to a green-and-dark green Gundam with two giant armshields and backpack standing next to the Type 0. "Yeah, it's uglier than he is. That's what you get when you're relegated to Villain of the Week duty, so he doesn't complain."

"That's the Forbidden Gundam, isn't it?" Melodius blinked. "So he's supposed to be the Tank, then. That's alright...just expecting something long-ranged from Heavy Weapons Guy, that's all. Who's next?"

The next was...damnit. We have Gyunei Guss!?

It was indeed Gyunei, looking as snide as ever, in the same Neo Zeon flight suit. "Don't think of trying to steal my thunder."

"Save it," Melodius waved him off just as promptly. "And you pilot...that?" Melodius pointed to a nimble-looking black Gundam with a morningstar. "Well, at least we got someone doing Bludgeoning damage in this party. You're the melee DPSer with a Raider Gundam...hmm. Who do we have as the last one here?" And immediately upon asking that question...Melodius regretted it, turning towards the last person. A girl. With green twin ponytails and a red flight suit.

"I hate you."

"Feeling's mutual."

"I hate you."

"You said that already."

"I hate you, hate you, hate you, hate you!"

At that Melodius rubbed his forehead and turned away from the girl. Great. We have Gyunei *and* Quess Paraya in this party. Lemme guess...she's the Newtype Mage? TM nodded, and frowned at the Alpha Azieru sitting in the far end of the hanger. Melodius' eyes wanted to cry right there and then. Why Quess? Whyyyyy? Overall, Melodius forced himself to think...and finally turned to TM, who shrugged with a 'can you blame me for being Put On A Bus?' look.

"So we have a Rogue, a Ranged Fighter, a Tank, a Melee DPSer, and a Mage. No Healer. That's not good for the Dungeoncrawl. Once we get into Side 6, I'll get at least one Methuss for you to round that designated Healer spot. So, TM...satisfy my curiousity." Melodius' curiousity overrid his sense of regret over asking this next question. He was not going to like this answer, he knew it...but he still had to know. "How did you get these four in your party?"

TM shrugged. "Okay, I met them in the Outer Rim..."

"Go on."

"...In the Bree Colony in Side 7..."

"...Okay..."

"On a dark and stormy night..."

Please don't say you met them in a tavern...

"...In a tavern called the Prancing Pony, an ages-old meeting place for ex-Feddie and ex-Fandom pilots---"

Melodius shook his head, reeled his head back...and screamed in frustration. "Aargh! Lame!" He then clutched his forehead painfully ala Cloud while TM stared. "Total cliche! TM, the innkeeper is probably some burly sod with a funny moustache and an apron, right?"

At that, TM flustered in embarassment and turned away. Lousy metagaming. "Maybe..."

"Nevermind. Forget I asked." Melodius frowned as all five looked at him. "After the raid on Trinary, I say we go back to Bree, kill the fat geezer and sack the colony. But you guys are only at 14th level...the NPC inevitables would make mincemeat out of you, so you'll need to grind some levels out of Trinary's defences beforehand---"

"You lot stay in character!" TM shouted as the four nodded at Melodius in agreement.

Melodius waved to TM and began walking away at that. "Whatever. We'll be nearing Libot soon, TM. Just get us ready for landing." Melodius simply said, and left the hanger while the four remaining members of the Council of Evil, sans Mari, stared at their new Strategist. "We'll be back in Bree when you guys hit 19th Level."

Sume Gai/Tallis Stenner

After getting some sleep. Gai had began familiarizing himself with the Overflag he would be using for the moment overall it was a good mech though not as nimble as his Lancelot on land it was easily a match for it in the sky.

he then heard a knocking on the cockpit door and opened it to find Tallis there a sealed drink in each hand.

"Hey you seem to be working hard"

she offered one of the drinks which Gai gladly accepted

"Hello Tallis. Don't worry though this isn't too bad, I think I have it figured out now."

"Wow you're fast!"

"I seem to have a knack for figuring things out and I've flown a regular Flag in simulations before, they aren't too different"

"Well don't push yourself too hard the real battle will start soon."

" I know"

Gai seemed to be debating with himself for a second then decided to speak again

"hey Tallis I have a question I've been meaning to ask."

"what?"

"you love mechs right?"

"Of course!"

"is there a reason you became a mechanic rather than a pilot"

this time it was Tallis' turn to argue with herself it took her a few moments longer than it had taken Gai.

"well... you see I'm good at fixing them but I don't have much talent for controlling them... I did want to be a pilot, and still do, but I didn't make the cut in the preliminary exams and ended up a mechanic."

Gai wished he could help Tallis with this but what could he do? he had already pulled whatever strings he had to get her on board and if she really didn't have the talent it wouldn't help anyway. Then an Idea occurred to him.

"Hey Tallis how 'bout I teach you? We'll find out if you have the right stuff to be a pilot"

"really you'd do that for me?"

"Sure why not"

with that Gai began giving an overview of the controls in the Flag.

--Slug--

Nearing the California border, Slugger, half-asleep, let's the mecha fly itself via autopilot. It is by that time that, like a faint alarm clock, the sensors sounded a faint beep. Slug goes to check out what it is---it's something approaching him from behind. Waiting a couple of minutes, it's closing in, more or less heading in his way (which does not translate to heading to nowhere).

He decides to check---and it's a Minerva class. "Yo Antonio! Check this out, this must be a Fed!"

He attempts to make contact. "Minerva, do you copy? This is Slugger Shot," Slug says on the radio, and adds some confirmation number that he is in fact, a freelance soldier recruited by the Federation. It is obvious that he is not flying a Federation-issued unit---even with the radar info from others clearly displays who made it ---"Sidewinder Customs," as it shows up on the sensors.

"Sir, incoming transmission from an unknown mobile weapon nearby." called out the comm officier. "IFF codes match a unit that is a freelance operator that has been hired by the Federation recently. The pilot is calling himself 'Slugger Shot'."

"Very well."

Opening a channel, Ryker responded. "This commander Thomas Ryker of the EFS Ceres. How can we help you?"

Raven/Wraith

Raven had returned his ominous presence filling the ship. He had just finished writing his report of the engagement. He had noted that bad intelligence as well as the underestimation of enemy strength were the main reasons for failure to destroy the Lunar Corp ending the report with:
We have let them fester for far too long under the guise of neutrality. they must be dealt with before victory can be achieved
he then packaged the report with a request to use that machine. A mech with a Dire stigma among the Fandom. It's unstable power source had caused an accident during the first activation of it's brother unit...

"Question is, how can I help you?" Slugger replies. "My agreement is to help the nearest Feddies should they come across some enemies, ok? Last I check there have been some trouble lately..."

"I can wire in my resume, if you need it. I won't be a liability," Slug finally adds.

"All right then. Please send over that resume so we can work out how best to use you, and you can land on the port side hanger deck."

Ryker turned to the comm officer. "Have a security detail meet them in the hanger and give them a looking over. It may seem rude, but after last time I don't want to take any unnecessary risks when bringing a stranger on board."

Two-Face emerged from cloud cover above the Ceres, Red GN particles coming out from behind the Gundam Leopard Destroy. He noted that there was another suit meeting up with the Minerva class ship.

Good. Time for some... chaos.

He fired the entire contents of the left shoulder's missile launchers at the big ship.

Sume Gai/Tallis Stenner

suddenly the Ceres shook. Tallis who wasn't in the seat began to fall backwards but Gai's arm shot out and grabbed hers.

"thanks Gai"

"your welcome, Now you'd better get back as I might have to launch."

as tallis climbed out of the way Gai opened a line to the bridge

"Bridge this is Night Chaser What just happened? Are we under attack?"

-Gray Wolf-

Kyle collected himself as much as possible while he tired to figure out a way to explain the situation.

"The reason i'm up here is not because of the new variable fighter. Basically the Federation has been abducting gifted pilots or those suspected of being NTs within Lunar Corp. Its not been very many individuals but it seems the Federation has been illegally looking through profiles and looking for people. We don't want the normal Federation fleet to escort us out of fear... Things have gotten much worse and I don't know whats going on."

He tried to speak and get his point across as best as he could. Then he rested his head on his hand. "Fandom is also getting more aggressive and that stunt they pulled was out of character. Something big is going to happen..."

-DC Forces-

The advance group from DC made its way closer to their target. He opened up communication with the small team from his VR. "Alright guys expect stanch resistance from Fandom... for one they don't like us much and two their pretty determined to get these two. Satellite images show that Fandom forces are amassing intense numbers and there is a Federation team in the area too. Lets stick to the plan and avoid contact with the Federation for now since we aren't on good terms with them."

California was coming up in the distance and after a small yawn the new addition to DC was ready. He had gotten a bit of practice before and despite the fact he hadn't slept much, a few hours with his VR on autopilot, he was excited. In a way he was the exact opposite of his alternate personality in this universe. As Kyle weakened he became stronger and stronger. It was amazing his progress from the first battle till now. [/i]
