Front Mission for the DS
With tomorrow being the release date for Front Mission for the DS in the US, I thought I'd make a topic on it since I don't see one around here. Is anyone else looking forward to this game? What are your thoughts on it? Do you think that if this sells well enough that they will release FM5 for the PS2? What do you think of the other Front Mission games?
Ay-yi-yi! DS?!?!? Awesome! I played an in-store demo of one of the PS2 versions once and loved it, but due to a heavy dose of Nintendo fanboyism and more than a little grudge against Sony, I've never come into possession of a PS2.
I'm almost certainly getting it, and I haven't even seen any screens yet. That's how excited I am to hear of its existence.

Don't call it a comeback...

It's already on my list. Mech porn indeed!

I would likely wet myself it they ported 3. Though I'd rather have in on the PSP as I'm not a huge fan of the DS. I barely ever use mine.
Of course, I'm still waiting for Front Mission Online to come our way. Wishfull thinking, but I'm entitled to my dreams. Regardless, I might have to pick this up. Give me a reason to dust off the old DS.

oh poop, this game snuck up on me really fast. I was looking at it and really thought about jumping the front mission ship once it arrived on ds. With two ds games coming out and ac6, I am afraid I will miss this. Well I can only hope it stays popular enough that I can buy it sometime after dementium and lifesigns.

1 definitely has it's charm and it's by no means a bad game but I'm also a big fan of 3 myself. Although on occasion the DS seems pretty powerful it hasn't given me the impression it could handle all of 3. It would be cool if it could but if anything 3 would most likley end up on PSP/PS3 as a download.Recon 5 wrote:They should have ported 3. 1 was fun but 3 was WAAAAY better. With the kind of technology the DS has, I think that porting an SNES game is a waste.

I have it now, and I'm loving it so far, especially the customization. I almost cried tears of joy when I saw that every change of equipment (well, except for the CPU) is reflected onscreen. It's really annoying in the MW games how the appearance of the mech is fixed no matter what you load it out with. The color schemes are fun too. I've got a Red Comet.
My only major complaint with the game so far is that the menus in the shop seem a little clunky, and it's annoying having to wait for the wanzer dealer's spiel to scroll by whenever you enter/exit the shop. I may have more complaints in the future... the manual description of skills in FM makes them sound a little odd, but I don't have any yet, so I can't really comment.
Wait. Why am I typing this instead of playing? Bye, folks!
