What songs would go good in a Gundam game?

Video games, pen and paper, CCG or any other gaming fun.

I was thinking Flight Of The Valkyrie by Schoppenhaur. What are your ideas?

Depends on the game. But generally speaking, I'd go metal all the way.

Contra would be a good example of good video game music. Upbeat frantic instrumental stuff. Try to stay away from vocals as much as possible.

Usually in a high tempo action game i would stick with either metal/rock or some kind electronic music.

Another good example of metal music in games would be the guilty gear series.

Children Of Bodom: Are you Dead Yet?
Godsmack: I stand Alone
Iron Madien: Run to the hills
Avenged Sevenfold: Strength of the World
Pretty Much anything by Tool

that's all I can think of right now.

What percentage of your posts have been new topics? :/

When I was playing the Blue Destiny games I had Pearl Jam in the BG, but then again I have Pearl Jam in the BG for most everything.

Rachmaninoff's Concerto no. 2 in C Minor.

It'd be great for an epic (if long) battle.

Eh, I think 'Cathedral' is better, particularly for anything that goes with ship combat (Or any live solo Eddie ever did)...

Aside from the usual VH stuff I'm required by law to suggest, I'd probably stick in some old King Crimson and Frank Zappa stuff, since those things (Particularly the early 80's Crimson) really make me think of Gundam and the Battle Of Loum and stuff like that.
I must betray Stalindog!!!

One specific track: Kanye West's Addiction. Yeah, I know, I know, "hip-hop and anime don't mix well, blah blah blah, yackity shmackity." But this song belongs in a marine/amphibious UC game stage.

I work with midi alot when i'm transcribing songs its good to put aomething together quickly to hear what it sounds like but unless you have an amazing midi driver its gonna sound bad. Like no offense to Eddy V, but a midi of Eruption would sound like someone strangling a cat, with a pair of bagpipes spewing diarrhea from every hole, as a mutant tiger/goat/monster truck/penguin bats at your head. A good jam, but midi just ruins it.

Since you can only use Midi's i'd look for music either made originally in the midi format or actual video game tunes, but don't let my opinions hamper your creativity.

You mean Ride of the Valkyries by Wagner?

Lets see, Beethoven's Monlight Sonata would be good for a sad part, not too action-y. His 9th symphony would be excellent, it's pretty fast for action areas. Liszt and Paganini performing Etude No. 3 'La Campanella' would be excellent as well. Götterdämmerung by Wagner is an excellent tension builder. Johann Strauss's Blue Danube Waltz would be good for action scenes. Schubert's Ave Maria is a good choice. Mozart's Lacrimosa and Turkish March should be good choices to use. Mussorgsky's Night on Bald Mountain is always great for action scenes. Wagner's The Flying Dutchman would be a great choice. Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherazade, Shostakovich's Symphony No. 7 in C Major "Leningrad", Op. 60, and Tchaikovsky's Symphony #6 Pathetique 2nd movement are all excellent choices.

As you can plainly see, I like classical music.

In the field of music that has been used to a great extent in scifi and would probably work for Gundam you always have Gustav Holst's The Planets Suite (Mars: The Bringer of War probably being the most famous of those).

Another One Bites the Dust by Queen. I always listen to that when I play a game that involves killing.
