Re: Gundam Vs. Series Discussion Topic

Actual DLC! Yay!

If anyone couldn't tell, the DLC is those four new Maxi units plus the vanilla Gundam X and Gold Frame Amatsu Mina, which comes with the Ookitsu no Kagami beam shield.

It's going to be weird to have the Norn and no FA Unicorn but whatever. I'm just glad the Bamco hasn't forgotten about FB.

Re: Gundam Vs. Series Discussion Topic

Well, remember that they went and added new DLC to vanilla ExVs over a year after its release date. So even if the first batch was kind of lazy, at least we're getting some good stuff now. Not sure on the GX or Amatsu Mina, but hopefully they'll be different enough.

Also, where's my frigging Sandrock?

Re: Gundam Vs. Series Discussion Topic

Its really awesome to see my Altron (TV) finally being added. Hopefully we'll get Sandrock and maybe even Trieze's Tallgeese II down the line. That would more or less round out the core Wing cast.

I am actually interested in GX. A cheaper DX might be fun.

I look forward to Altron Gundam and Strike Rouge the most, be curious to see what the RE-GZ does.

I've always avoided playing with DX since it feels so OP.

GX will add back in the necessary challenge during combat

Re: Gundam Vs. Series Discussion Topic

GX was in Next Plus, where it could swap with the Divider. It had the interesting quirk that you had to charge the Satellite Cannon manually by holding the Melee button, but other than that it was a fairly orthodox gun/sword/vulcan-type unit.

Personally, I can't help but wonder how Altron will play in light of both Altron EW being in Next Plus, and Dragon Gundam having a few of the moves you'd associate with it.

Re: Gundam Vs. Series Discussion Topic

I think Altron could be a sort of combo of Dragon Gundam and Virsago. So a melee character with some good ranged options. If they really give its beam cannon the range and angle it should have it will be a powerful shooter.

Yeah better late than never I guess. As for the GX I just hope it plays better than its GVGNP counterpart.

Now if I were one for conspiracies and weird theories I'd say that Japan, or some Bamco executive, doesn't like the Sandrock.

Re: Gundam Vs. Series Discussion Topic

I have the feeling the GX will just be a scaled-down Double X, maybe even with the Airmaster and Leopard assists. Wonder if they'll retain the manual SC charge...

Re: Gundam Vs. Series Discussion Topic

Was poking around on gamefaqs earlier and some people reckon this DLC is actually for Maxi Boost can someone check/clear up which it actually is?
Or are some of the posters on Gfaqs a little stupid?

Re: Gundam Vs. Series Discussion Topic

Altron, Rouge, ReGZ and Norn are being added to Maxi, starting with Altron at the end of July and then each new release being about a week after the last.

...But they're ALSO being added to Full Boost as DLC along with the Gundam X and GF Amatsu Mina.

Re: Gundam Vs. Series Discussion Topic

Ah that seems to be the case and just some of the gfaqs poster got it stupidly in their heads.
It's only for Maxi, when it's actually for both(even Gundam Guy has that info too)

Re: Gundam Vs. Series Discussion Topic

Great session yesterday; even if there were some PSN problems they weren't nearly as severe as they were last time around (which made running the back-up stream a nightmare).

Also, for all you damn kids who didn't get my reference at the start of the session: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rOdZJIl1q4w

Re: Gundam Vs. Series Discussion Topic

Bandai Namco is going to host a livestream talking about the four new Maxi units on July 25th @ 10 PM...which unfortunately works out to 9 in the morning in the Eastern time zone. Here's hoping there's some kind of runback. Anyway, the URL is http://www.ustream.tv/channel/bandainamcogames.

EDIT: Moot point, people in America can't watch that livestream anyhow due to region blocking. F*** you very much Ustream.

Gameplay video of CPU Altron:

It looks like it plays a lot like Nataku in Next Plus with the addition of the stinger tail cannon, which can perform out-of-angle shooting.

Looks awesome! That cannon is gonna be so awesome. I am actually okay that its like Nataku from Next Plus, especially considering Nataku was so good in that game. I notice that it seems its arms are not quite as long ranged as Nataku's, but the cannon should help make up for that. It also looks pretty fast. Looking forward to it even more now.
