Boy, have you guys missed out. This is gonna be a real culture shock, trust me. It'll be like jumping from vanilla Street Fighter 2 to Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3.

Nice to see the Strike Gundam made it in, if they add anything of Destiny I can hope that the pack swap system means they've got a grasp on things so it wouldnt be a hurdle to do Impulse and it's other forms.

But it's a nice little sign, hoping for X and Destiny to get some love though geez.

And here I thought they were getting ride of clone units with different painjobs... cause the Slave Wraith only looks different from the Ground Gundam.... its weapons are the same.

I could also complain about the fact that if they were going to include the High Mobility Gelgoog, it'd make far more sense to use Johnny Ridden.

The unit in question is a MS-14BR, not a regular MS-14B. That being said, in the image the unit seems to be purple instead of Vincent's blue color scheme.

I'm very disappointed at the lack of ZZ units, which in my book shouldn't be replaced by Haman's Qubeley (which should be considered a unit from MSGZ) and its two clones, the AMX-004-2 and AMX-004-3.

Nothing personal, but that's a distinction without difference. If they're going to include ANY form of High Mobility Gelgoog, I'd rather they include the pilot who actually deserves to be in a game like this, and not just the latest case of Zeon fanwank.

I understand what you mean, but think of it this way:

-The MS-14B is essentially just a MS-14A/MS-14S with a backpack, while the MS-14BR has custom legs and a custom beam rifle. Since Char's YMS-14 is also in the game, I assume they went for the unit that stood out more from it. I do will grant you that Johhny Ridden is a far better and more popular pilot than Vincent Gleissner.

-On the other hand, I would be more of the opinion that JR should pilot his MS-06R-2, which was a more unique machine (only 4 were made), which along Shin Matsunaga's MS-06R-1 and the Black Tri-Star's MS-06R-1A, are the main representatives of the MSV series units. However, since the Psycho Zaku is also in the game, which is essentially a clone of JR's MS-06R-2 (down to the color scheme), chances of that are really low.

I suppose one potential compromise could JR's MS-14C, which stands out enough from the YMS-14 and MS-14BR, thought I would much prefer to save the MS-14C for the Black Tri-Stars color scheme (IIRC, in one of Gihren's Greed games they receive such units if they survive be late in the war).

In any case, I would also like to point out that today there are many units better than a vanilla MS-14B, starting with the aforementioned MS-14BR. Following the train of thought of the BTS' MS-14C, I would rather see a MS-14BR, MS-14Jg, MS-17, MS-17B, YMS-18 or even a MS-18E in Crimson Lightning color scheme, which could be introduced as a sort of "what-if" unit, like Shin Matsunaga's infamous MS-14Jg: a unit that could be justified as "it was prepared for JR, but wasn't delivered/ready on time for the final battle" or "JR decided not to use it since he didn't get the chance to test it before the final battle", etc.

Honestly, the technical aspect doesn't interest me at all when it comes to a game like this. The entire point is that it's a crossover "dream battle" game where "power levels" and things like that don't matter. Which is precisely why it's so much fun to use Doan's Zaku to take down things like the Turn A.

My main issue is that Missing Link wasn't a very good game, and I don't care for either of the unit choices. On the one hand we have yet another Gundam [G] variation, bringing the total to three. On the other we have Gleissner's Gelgoog; while I acknowledge that a High Mobility Gelgoog isn't a bad inclusion per se (ignoring the fact that we already have Char's), I'd much prefer it be piloted by someone who has a real place in Gundam history, and not just the subject of even more poorly-written Zeon fanwankery.

If they'd included the Pale Rider, I'd have been fine with it; even if HADES is literally a bootleg EXAM, it actually has enough performance and equipment differences to make it distinct from any of the Blue Destinies.

I'm actually more curious if this opens up more possibilities of other Gundam game characters and units being playable in the future via DLC or a future expansion, even though Blue Destiny did it first in extreme VS. 0081 would be nice or even the RX-78 4-6 units from other side story games. White Dingo too.

I'm on the other end of spectrum: I would prefer joke units such as Doan's Zaku to be replaced by more interesting units, such as:

-Zaku Desert Type/Desert Zaku: besides having a more unique appearance, this units had the ability to hide in the desert sand and had a large arsenals fixed weapons (grenades rack, head vulcans, hip-mounted big gun, arm-mounted missile launcher) further complemented by handheld weapons (short-barrel MG, long-barrel machine gun, Bazooka, heat hawk, heat tomahawk). By ZZ optional jet skis even provide such units with Dom like mobility.

-Act Zaku: the ultimate OYW Zaku, capable of operating beam weapons and ballistic weapons alike. Being the testbed for Zeon's magnetic coating technology, Mallet Sanguine seemed to rely on drugs in order to make the most of the MS-11's full mobility. Mallet's trademark weapons were a couple of heat hawks he dual-wielded.

-Zaku Cannon: If crazy is fine in this game, I would love to have a Zaku cannon with Dom-like mobility (thanks to its YMS-09 like legs) and a beam cannon, the later as suggested by some of its background info. Swapping between backpacks (beam, long-barrel ballistic & gatling gun) on the fly and firing both hip-mounted big guns and leg mounted missile launchers could be some of its feature.

As for Gundam Side Stories, while some of the representations of other games don't quite live to the expectations, I disagree about Missing Link itself: I certainly loved the story and characters. I particularly liked the situation between Schneid and Reber, the later which inherited the former's Efreet, customized it to fit his knife/dagger fighting style and renamed the unit in honor of his friend and former rival. I also liked hot the EF mercenaries turned against their former employer and stole from them, and how regular pilots managed to take down the Pale Rider through teamwork (and sacrifices).

By the way, it should be pointed out that the MS-14BR actually first appeared in MSV-R, identified as a Gelgoog A Baoa Qu Battle Type, alongside the MS-14C-1A. When it first appeared, there was even speculation if the unit belonged to Robert Gilliam, whom was the pilot of one of the other MS-06R-2 units which used a very similar color scheme. Anyway, the background of the MS-14BR and MS-14C-1A actually indicates that these units were customized for the Chimera Corps. The background of the Chimera (or Chimaira) itself, the Zanzibar that served as the flagship of the Chimera Corps, does confirm that the external hangar also served for producing experimental parts for their MS. The point I'm trying to reach is that it shouldn't be too far fetched to assume that Bandai could do a more or retcon and give JR a MS-14BR.

Shin Matsunaga's MS-14Jg has been replaced in more recent games (Spirits of Zeon and 0081) by a regular MS-14B. There could be many reasons for such change, including the fact that as a member of Dozle's Space Attack Force, he might have not been given access to a unit that seems to have been employed only by Kycillia's Mobile Assault Force. Following such logic, it would make sense for the leader of the Chimera Corps to be given a further modified Gelgoog. However, of such unit was to be added, I really hope it's given some unique weapons/features.

In the case of Vincent Gleissner's MS-14BR, it's easy to figure out what kind of unique features it could be given, starting with the large 4-tube anti-ship missile launcher from MSV-R, support from the Guy Helmuth's MS-09R2 equipped with the giant anti-ship heat sword or Annerose Rosenheim's MS-06Z. Maybe even Doug Schneid's Efreet equipped with its trademark Heat Lancer could be considered.

I'm okay with the MS-14BR being in mostly due to having more aesthetic differences from the standard gelgoog. (Also as Gelgoog Jager stated, the MS-14B/BR are different suits and complaining that one foregoes the other or deserves to be in more than another is a weird argument of opinion that... really doesn't make sense to me on a grander scale of things?)

Plus for Missing Link not doing too well on the market, its designs and characters seem popular enough in Japan that they've included a multitude of units from it in quite a few media works. Though I'd be surprised if they didn't go for the pale rider since that was the far more popular suit of the game.

I'd honestly more complain about things like the GM Custom, though that's mostly because it's a 200 cost AKA a 1k w/ a machine gun, and I cannot imagine it having a very diverse moveset, since as a 1k a lot of its movements and such are going to be slow. And while I'm okay with odd designs, the Methuss seems... like a hard choice to justify. It supports its partner w/ replenishes but I'm worried that as a 200 cost, it will be ignorable and therefore you could just double lock the front and completely ignore the methuss, turning it into essentially a 2v1 where the 1 occasionally gets back ammo.

Not that I outright object I just don't like the logic of 'well they put in X which means they won't put in Y' with these things, I'd much rather look at what the suits could bring from a gameplay perspective than random deciding on what 'deserves' to be in, since ultimately that's what'll make the game fun (considering how awful Maxi Boost On's balance and unit bloat got) re: Amuro's complaining about the Gelgoog HM type (though I will admit my annoyance is exacerbated again just due to similar complaints about Unicorn having a lot of units in SD Gundam G Generation Genesis? You seem to really dislike series you don't enjoy having any representation in games and it strikes me as confusing.)

My point about the Gelgoog is simply that, if they were going to include it, I feel like they should have gone with the pilot who has 30-odd years of history and representation in games rather than the one with less than 5. The technical aspect is completely irrelevant, because this isn't that type of game. If it were a simulation game where stats mattered more, then sure, the BR Gelgoog would be faster than the straight-up B Type. But in an all-out crossover game, it's far less important.

As for G Gen Genesis, my complaint wasn't about Unicorn's roster; I'm just sick to death of Gundam games ONLY covering the First Universal Century (assuming they ever get out of the One Year War in the first place), so a game that covered that time period and nothing else held absolutely no interest to me.

Yukari: (Which lies and schemes are she talking about? It's hard to keep track of them all...)
