If anyone's interested here's the GameFAQs board:

Also if you noticed in Zamobt' and Daitarn's pics there seems to be two variations of dragonoids: completely black and gold striped.

I've been going there for a while so it's nothing new for Gamefaqs SRW Z2 board.
Re: Super Robot Wars Z 2
You know what I just realized? What if Banpresto actually makes a Guren Mark 1 knightmare frame for Code Geass? No really, it might work since they have made originals within anime series before:
-Pantagruel, which is basically a clone of Gargantua from Combattler V
-Great Zeorymer
-Gai variant aestivalises marks 1 and 2
-Final Dancouga
-Mecha Gilgilgan
-Mazinkaiser
-Three unique versions of Devil Gundam (Berserk Devil Gundam from Shin, Devil Axis from 64, and Ultria from Neo)
-Dragonar 3 Custom
-Mass Production Great Mazingers
And that's not counting the extra canon/unused designs they've used:
-Layzner Mark 2
-SR-J Dijeh
-Methuss Kai
-Hyaku Shiki Kai
-IWASP Strike Gundam
-Zeta 2 Gundam
-Gundam Mark 3
-Ginrei Robos Mark 1 and 2
-Armored Klan
-F-Armor Evangelion Unit 01
-Evangelion Unit 03 (unused series wise)
-X Aestivalis (a version that actually works )
-Perfect Daiteioh
-Nightengale
-And, dare I say, HI NU GUNDAM!
So yeah, it would be pretty neat if something like that appears. Anyone want to bet a dollar?

Re: Super Robot Wars Z 2
Final Dancouga's credit lies with Masami Ōbari and not Banpresto or Super Robot Wars. It was created for the Dancouga DVD Boxset 2 released back on October 25th 2000. It got named Final Dancouga in Super Robot Magazine Vol 9 which pretty much made it official after this it was placed into Super Robot Wars games.
It's been a while but weren't the mass production Great Mazinger's identical to Great Mazinger but just AI controlled which let our heroes say something about the soul and real power of a Super Robot lies in it's pilot?
Mecha Gilgilgan isn't really special either, it's just a design created in the same styling as various old school Super Robot enemies. After all Huckebein isn't listed cause it kinda looks Gundam like and could easily pass as a mobile suit so this really isn't a special case.
And pulling other designs from various source material is different then truly designing a new mecha from an exisiting series.

Re: Super Robot Wars Z 2
- Great Zeorymer was originally just unused design. GEARS Online has its lineart for a year or two before it show up in J.
- Dragonar 3 Custom isn't really new thing. The dialogue made it clear that it's same as Dragonar 3 "late type" (it's hard to improve recon mech, so they just upgrade its OS and give it a photon bazooka).

Re: Super Robot Wars Z 2
If they really wanted to exert themselves and make brand new machines I'd much rather see custom KMF for Dorothy and Monica than a weaker version of a machine we already have. Not that I think either option is likely since they never bothered to even hint at unique machines for the first two before killing them off.
No, you know what I'd kill to see in SRW (or G Gen) and which is at least remotely possible one day? Esperanza II for Ennil El. There's at least artwork of it.

Re: Super Robot Wars Z 2
According to the GameFAQs boards tomorrow they're supposed to have some sort of update with the creator of VOTOMs with what he says about it being in the SRW franchise. I don't know how true this is, but I thought I'd throw it out there. There's also a rumor of how the second preview vid is done or nearly done, but won't be shown for a while.
And since this is Z's sequel I might as well ask

Spoiler
TVTropes and various comments I've seen describe the main Balgora pilot having extremely sad/tragic endings to them as well as a ton of situations she's in where it is all just bad news. That said, what the hell happened to her? I know in one of the bad endings she goes blind or something, but that's it.

In bad ending, she's dead. But that can't be canon ending (thus, I don't put spoil tag here).
In other endings, she's alive. Not really in good shape (Sorrowful Maiden still rip her sense one by one) but definity able to blast whatever get in her way. The last time we saw her, in normal ending -. In good ending, .

I'd imagine what ending they go off of is what's based on the bonus disc.
Spoiler
So she finds her team members and makes a new Glory Star team with them. All works out in the end!

Note that even if you take Rand's route, Setsuko is still fine (and technically even more healthy).
Spoiler
During last stage, the unchosen MC will has duel with Asakim and losed. For Setsuko, Asakim state that since Sorrowful Maiden doesn't awake yet, killing her would be pointless. Unfortunate for Rand, as Asakim point out that he isn't holder of Wound Lion and thus...is expendable.

Re: Super Robot Wars Z 2
R-Daigun, Lelouch's Burai, and air-type invaders are definitely confirmed. I can't entirely tell what Dynames is taking out but it looks like a ground type Tieren for the most part, either that or it's a Fantong (most likely the former).
Re: Super Robot Wars Z 2
Tieren Ground Type, you can see it really clearly in the upper-right picture.

Re: Super Robot Wars Z 2
Awesome gives us a little sample before PV2 comes out.
Re: Super Robot Wars Z 2
Well, preview video 2 will be on the net tomorrow if it will be released.
Speculation wise, I think the dragonoids could be related to the A-Zone, Invaders, and Heterodyne. I mean think of it: In the first preview video they are shown coming out of nowhere like they traveled through a dimension, which is the main plot point for all this. Heterodyne do something very similar in Dai-Guard. In ACE 3 Antibody Coralians from Eureka Seven and Getter Robo Armageddon's Invaders have a similar DNA sequence or something. One could argue a Kouta Coralian has dimensional properties to them. A-Zone are basically antibody coralian clones, so they could be related to the invaders like in ACE 3 and maybe the heterodyne.
The main storyline behind them could be similar to Alpha 3 with ultra powerful entities (like say Zeus from Shin Mazinger and Anti Spiral from TTGL) trying to stop them and failing, which leads to an alternate Black History or something, which could lead to the distant future animes like Macross Frontier, God Mars, and VOTOMS.
And I'll shut up now. Yeah.

Re: Super Robot Wars Z 2
I doubt it. If anything, they'll use the Guren MkII Kai from the Code Geass DS game, or the Burai Radiation Wave Test Type from the same, or the Gekka Radiation Wave Test Type from Lost Colours, or the dozen Burai unique to the game. Or they'll just give us the Guren Flight Type early. If anything, they'll incorporate ideas and/or characters from those two games, but probably only mecha, so they don't have to hire a voice actor for Rai or Lelouch's DS-only brothers. If anything, I'd like to see Euphemia in a Siegfried Kai. Again, from the DS game... in the Euphemia recruitment battle. No, I'm not being subtle, why do you ask?DuelGundam2099 wrote:You know what I just realized? What if Banpresto actually makes a Guren Mark 1 knightmare frame for Code Geass? They could at least give them Vincents. (since they are the MP Lancelot) IIRC, they had them piloting freaking Sutherlands! They're Rounds! Give them something decent!Arsarcana wrote:If they really wanted to exert themselves and make brand new machines I'd much rather see custom KMF for Dorothy and Monica than a weaker version of a machine we already have. ...Also, if they appear as enemies, does that mean that they get more lines than they did in canon?
And, the new PV:

Everyone really went crazy when they saw Graham and Cornelia, but there was a fair bit of "going crazy" in general.
Re: Super Robot Wars Z 2
Because it annoys me when people think it's "cool" or "rad" or whatever to blatantly skip numbers. Guren's my least favorite anime mech ever and the intentional no Mark 1 *irks* me.No, I'm not being subtle, why do you ask?
*ahem* relating to the topic, preview vid 2 came out with a few shots not seen in the opening movie:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=knt6L7pbg_E
Looks like the story might be going for the route of the Black Knights over whatever unit Lancelot's in under the Britanian Empire. As for new enemies, at 2:16 I think that's a Union Flag but I can't tell. I also think I saw a Leo somewhere in there. I can't even make out what is at 5:27, maybe a Tragos without it's hover unit? If you pause at 6:48/9 REALLY closely you can see Baron Ashura attacking Mazinger Z BY ITSELF. Looks like Ptolomios is also in. I can't tell what is at 6:52, it's either Yoko or her gunman, W-Tank. Nonakargo H2 from Shin Mazinger Z can be seen at 7:01. 7:15 briefly shows a Bishop class vajra ship. And Graham's Flag can be seen also briefly at 7:16. At the end you can see Cornelia from Code Geass, meaning we'll probably see her custom Gloucester.
Re: Super Robot Wars Z 2
Not to be rude, but the PV I posted is the same thing, but with better quality.
> Number Skipping.
I was under the impression that it exploded, or something. Or, like Gundam, the MkI is comparatively useless, having the power of a Glasgow or something, as opposed to the MkII, which can keep up with the Lancelot, despite being a 5th generation machine versus a 7th. It's not like anyone asks for the Zaku I over the Zaku II. And now that I think about it, that's probably why the Guren Nishiki is named as it is. Or how Macross Frontier skips the VF-26, or how earlier Macross skips half a dozen numbers, though they have a pretty good track record.
And, uh, I was actually not being subtle about recruiting Euphemia.
> Black Knights over Britannia
That's extremely likely, if not obvious from the start. Lancelot is the more recognisable mecha, no matter how it irks me, but it would be hard to justify having you work for Britannia for more than a stage or two. They're pretty much the Titan Empire. Working for the Union is easy enough to justify, but not Britannia. Working with the Black Knights, on the other hand, isn't required, but also easier to justify. They aren't actually terrorists, after all. They don't shoot civilians. Having Lancelot work for you, then not return to Britannia is easy enough, too - that's how they deal with Shinn with Lunamaria.
> 2:16
Is that the Zeta Gundam part? The timing is different between yours and mine. If it is, that's actually a Tieren. A Space-Type, to be specific. There's a Enact during the Gundam 00 part - specifically, it's Patrick, who bemoans his fate, much to the glee of the crowd.
> Leo, 5:16
There's an Aries getting destroyed by Gundam DX. There was a Leo in one of the screenshots, but I don't know where it is in the PV. The one in the Wing part is, again, an Aries, but it's not flying.
> Baron Ashura, Ptolemaios, Yoko,
It is Shin Mazinger Shougeki! Z-hen. That's pretty much what Baron Ashura does. And unlike Master Asia, he doesn't exactly have a robot to pilot. Ptolemaios is slightly unexpected. The Ptolemaios I doesn't have any weapons, outside of the Assault Container, so I don't know what's going on, there. Maybe it's the Prolemaios II? I can't see any Ganmen with Yoko, or anything for that matter - whatever is in that shot, Yoko is actually covering it - and the W-Tank didn't appear until the space part, did it? And even then, she started in the Dayakkaiser. Unless that's a movie thing.
> Nonkargo H2, Bishop-Class Vajra, Graham, Cornelia.
So they are. Not sure what H2 is capturing, though. Graham and Cornelia are not unexpected. Each of them is nearly half of the best enemy pilots in the first season of their series, and are hardly negligible in the second season. Cornelia, doubly so. Without her, Code Geass barely has a plot. What would they do, have Euphemia as the Britannian general? Some minor Britannian officer? (and anyone with a name already works for Cornelia) Suzaku?
The appearance of Lunamaria is slightly unexpected. Since we were told that returning series would have a minimal cast, I didn't exactly expect more than Destiny's main three. Though they did the same thing with ACE:R. "There won't be any more than three! *gives four Code Geass and six Frontier pilots*".
