These are base kits from Kotobukiya for their Modeling Support Goods (MSG) line of add on parts/kits. There are three sets and they're due out early June:

Most other online sources such as rainbowten and hlj should also be carrying the stuff.

This thing looks awesome! I want (no, I NEED) a couple of these NOW! A few strung together would make an awesome display background.

egads, Those things are a bit pricey. They remind me of the old hangars that came with the ?arii or Imai / 1/?200? macross kits.

Heh.. "the Factory"? That was an awsome kit. I think there was a 1/100 or at least 1/72 scale version; but my memory is a bit fuzzy on that. Roughly 10 bucks for a 1/100 scale hanger piece isn't too bad a price.

Iv been wanting that myself for quite a while now...iv seen other brands out there...on this site that had spunky lookin skunk for a mascot...anyways, i think i would rather make it myself out of a cut-up box...would be more fun (and cheap) than buying one.

I'm just about to ship one of those old Robotech Factory kits. Nice, but not all that. These new things look a lot cooler.

I couldn't have said it better myself. These are truly "relevant to my interests".

These bases were released 6/13; most Japanese online retailers have them in stock.
