1/144 Delta Plus WIP

i recently started modelling again and worked on my Delta Plus.
I want to give it a classic Gundam look and already modded the head. I'd also like to make a shield that's somewhere between the Delta Gundam's and the Zeta's but i have a hard time coming up with something that'll look good and will still retain the transfomation function. Currently i'm fiddling around with the shield of an very old non grade Zeta but maybe I need to come up with something else.
Besides the head, I added vents to the chest armor and gave him a proper front skirt.
I'm also a bit unsure if I should do any mods to the legs except from some inner frame detailing and if I should add a backpack like the Delta Gundam's or the tail balancer of an old S-Gundam. Both would mean I'd had to mod the back of the MS and and the Wave Rider base without making it look stupid
Here's an very early WIP shot and the intended color scheme.

There's still a very long way ahead before this is done.
Comments and ideas are welcome^^

Edit: Though I have still no idea how the actual shield will look like, I started to create a connection point for the shield and the Wave Rider parts. The peg still allows me to use the original shield if everything fails.

I also made a pics of the balancer.
It would look cool in MS mode, but the socket-part with the pegs is quite massive and would look strange as Wave Rider. Looks like i need to chop it, or construct a new part for this job. But that wouldn't solve the problem of the then unused pegs in WR mode.

Other parts I think I want to replace are the sides of the skirtarmor. Provided by the old Zeta

nothing to complicated but adding pegs in the right angle may be a bit tricky^^'

Edit: I made some progress on the shield. I'm going to use the tip of the shield of my old broken MG Zeta. Still requires lots of modification but at least it's a good base to work with
