The titles are there, but they're untranslated...so, yeah...really helpful that is.

Actually, Charles and Ray are named and based after the real life Charles and Ray Eames, married designers, architects and filmmakers. However, there is the possibility of them being named after Ray Charles, but I don't see it; most of the characters in Eureka Seven share some similarity with the real life people their named from (for example, Jobs and Woz, who are the Gekko-Go's hardware and software specialists respectively, are named after Apple Computer co founders Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak).

I find it interesting that Eureka Seven has so many western influences in it. Most anime's I've seen have a lot more Japanese elements to them with a few exceptions, such as Cowboy Bebop for example.

It is heavily based off music that did not originate in Japan so I'm not surprised.

Currently watching the Eureka 7 Dub on YTV and I'm loving every episode of it. The storyline, the characters, the action. This is definietly Shounen anime at it's best. Not to mention the Soundtrack to the series and having Home Made Kazoku as one of their OP's.

What intrigued me the most about the series was the pages and pages of trivia about Eureka 7 and how all the names are related to a gigantic plethora of different topics from surfers, to singers as well as the original creators of Macintosh.

Did anyone notice that Stoner looks a little like Che Guevara?

That is what they were aiming for after all  . The numerous reference towards pop culture can all be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Eu ... op_culture

I think one of the greatest reference was towards Adrock from the Beastie Boys.

Actually, i think i found the ultimate reference, Dewey's ship resembles the
Exelion from Gunbuster.

And so ends Eureka Seven. Overall, I thought it was pretty good. It got a little slow in the middle, but picked up again towards the end. I liked the ending because everyone lived happily ever after.

Agreed. Simply the best anime mecha or not I've ever seen. I wonder if there'll be a sequel...?

I don't think there's any need for a sequal. Everything's very well wrapped up.

ok , i would like to take this moment to state that Renton Thurston is probably the luckiest kid in the freakin universe. The series Starts , hes living a normal , boring life , then , all in one day , a mech falls out of the sky , quite literally , and with it , a girl he falls head-over-heels for , and then he goes on to be the hero of the whole freakin planet.

Thats the sort of thing that we can only DREAM of happening to us..

Um, apparently my post was deleted, I guess by accident.

I would guess that was no accident, but purpously done by a mod. What you have going here is better suited to a new thread in the Advertisements forum, and not a gravedigging post here. - Wingnut
