Sunrise has registered the domain name http://www.gundam-bf.net. This may mean nothing. Or it could mean something. Recent Gundam series are generally announced in June or July (SEED in 2002, SEED D in 2004, 00 in 2007, and AGE in 2011), with leaks normally coming out shortly before. So it would be about the right time if a new series was underway. ZZ, G, W, X, and SEED D were all released 1-2 years after their predecessors started, so it's not unheard of even though AGE started in October 2011.

i half expected to come back to this thread and discover that toysdream or someone had posted that there is in fact an official Gundam dating sim, but it was released in the 90s and it had a very limited run and it was released for, like, Microsoft Bob or something so it's incredibly obscure

Gundam Best Friends. Realising the pony thing is huge in the West right now, Sunrise are going to do a series about Axis Shock, a Unicorn Gundam who through adventures across the Earth Sphere learns the importance of friends and the light of the human heart.

Gundam Beer Fighter!
Its gonna be set in a post-apocalyptic world where currency is in barley flakes and beer is what powers the mobile suits. And our protagonist will be fighting with tires and chains around him. If all fails he just whacks the engine a few times with his trusty tire iron letting the Gundam reach its full potential.

Is there any slim, minute, laws of Bandaiphysics-defying chance that the gunpla builders idea might be possible with this? I doubt it, but it would be great.

I'll be honest, the first thing that occurred to me when I saw "BF" was "Blue Frame", but that's because I'm just kinda weird that way.
But of course, I doubt it has anything to do with that, because if it did it would be "Gundam Seed Something Or Other", and second as much as I dig Gai, I doubt they'll ever give him his own series, because he's not Sir Cheesebot McSpamalot.
