Oops i forget to mention from the beginning that i have only found the teaser for Destiny Astray B, which seems to be from the chinese translation of the magazine. Since the main story online is only in japanese (i think), no one seems to have translate it yet.

Re: Gundam Seed Astray Destiny R/B

Time for Destiny Astray R updates.

Chapter 9

In space, Lowe finally returns to his job as a junk tech and is recovering resources from an abandoned facility using the normal Red Frame, which is only equipped with its katana. He remarks that being a junk tech suits his character better, and 8 fully agrees. Lowe had been neglecting his work recently due to various reasons, like developing the Caletvwlch (which is rolling in lots of money for Junk Guild), going on a treasure hunt and participating in various important events. He was also involved in numerous battles to help out his friends, who include mercenaries, journalist and martians.

Thanks to Lowe’s skills and Gerbera Straight’s sharpness, the facility’s steel frames and other useful resources can be cut in units of centimeters precisely. The Caletvwlch although multifunctional and easy to use, is unsuitable for such precision work. The work will be completed soon and as it was too smooth sailing Lowe starts to wish for something exciting to occur, but he quickly laughs it off as an unwise wish. At his side, 8 reminds him that it is better to avoid matters that will make Kisato worry. Lowe then comments that 8’s behavior is not machine-like, but concurs with what it said. Kisato, the self-professed lover of Lowe, is a worrywart and had on her face a worried work as Lowe left for work earlier that day. To ease her worries, Lowe decides to speed up and go home before anything bad could happen. 8 fully approves this decision of his. Lady luck however does not seem to be too happy, goddesses have been known since ancient times to be quite easily jealous. Trouble soon knocks on Lowe’s door.

Lowe later spots a MS with wings spread wide open, it has a purple and white coloring, as well as a Gundam-like head. He wonders if it is the Destiny Impulse, but noticed that some of its parts are different. As he stares at that MS, it begins moving in his direction and as it gets closer, it raises both of its rifles and fires at Lowe. Lowe then confirms that the MS is not the Destiny Impulse he had seen before, and 8 remarks that now is not the time for such thing. Lowe maneuvers Red Frame away just in time to avoid the beam shot. The second shot arrives and as evading is not possible, Lowe uses Gerbera Straight to slice it apart. Although Red Frame is undamaged, Lowe breaks out in a cold sweat as it was a bit too close. 8 comments that it is the ‘usual’ again and Lowe agrees. 8 then adds that it is bothersome. The ‘usual’ that 8 and Lowe is talking about refers to the fact that they have once again stumble upon the testing of a new MS, which in the past always lead to a battle. Lowe notes that settling the matter through fighting goes against the way of the Junk Guild, and 8 agrees but it also states that a battle is unavoidable. Lowe then decides to try an alternative method, returning to his junk tech work seems to have somehow influence his mood.

Lowe opens the cockpit door, releases his safety belt and stands up with both his hands raised. He feels that doing so will prevent the other party from attacking and can create a chance for dialogue, whereby he will agree not to divulge what he had seen and thus ending the matter. 8 doubts that it will go that smoothly and says that it will take over if things turn bad. It is because 8 is so trustworthy that Lowe dares to take the risk. As he waits for the other party’s response, his mouth turns dry. After less than 10 seconds, the other party makes his move. But to Lowe, it feels like several minutes. Destiny Impulse R slowly moves towards Red Frame and soon stops in front of it. Lowe once again expresses his optimistic view that the matter can be solved through dialogue, but 8 points out that the world is not so simple and it is right.

Red Frame is attacked by Destiny Impulse R using the beam sabers emitted from its rifles, and 8 immediately reacts by countering using Red Frame’s katana (is this the first we see Gerbera Straight up against a beam saber?). It also carries out evasive maneuvers at the same time, but the suit’s violent movements caused Lowe to be thrown out of the open cockpit. Lowe curses while 8 states that it will come for him later. 8 cannot help Lowe now as Destiny Impulse R’s attacks did not stop. As Lowe floats in space, the two MS starts to get smaller and smaller, and he notes that the situation is really bad. Despite 8’s considerable piloting skills, it cannot wield the katana as well as Lowe can. Red Frame is already doing all it can to dodge the enemy’s attack, as such it cannot attack the enemy and that means that it is facing a losing battle.

8 starts to pray for intervention from any divine beings and its prayer soon receives a response. Long range attacks from out of nowhere head towards Destiny Impulse R, while a steel ball also appears from the opposite direction. Two MS appear and 8 recognizes one of them as Blau Calamity as it is in the video that Jess sent. 8 wonders why it is here, and recognizes the other MS as a modified Raider. 8 also notes that both MS seem to share one common theme and that is heavy weapons. They battle the Destiny Impulse R to a standstill and from that one can conclude that individually, the latter is stronger. However as the battle continues, Destiny Impulse R starts to get lose ground. Just when 8 thinks that the battle’s outcome is clear, the Destiny Impulse R self-destructed. 8 deduces that the enemy did this as he knows that he is losing and wants to keep the suit a secret. Not everything is destroyed though, the Silhouette pack separates just before the explosion and escapes at high speed. 8 did not miss this and remarks that things have only ended for the time being.

8 changes the Red Frame’s direction as it wants to find Lowe, at the same time Blau Calamity and Gelb Raider move closer, it is as if they want to stop Red Frame from leaving. Using close range communication, 8 thanks them for their help, but there is no reply. 8 suspects that the danger is not over yet and have a bad feeling about it. It then prays again for help and secretly laughs at its own odd behaviour. 8 wonders when it start to behave this way and concludes that it must have been from the day it met Lowe. 8 thinks that it must have been influenced by Lowe and has complete faith that he will eventually come and save it.

A high speed object flies by Lowe and he recognizes it as Destiny Impulse R’s Silhouette pack. He noticed that it can move on its own unlike other Silhouette pack, and finds the shape of the connector oddly familiar. However, try as he might, he could not remember where he has seen it before. Perhaps this is due to the low oxygen level remaining in his space suit, he is also feeling a bit giddy. He then moves towards Red Frame and after 10 minutes, Lowe reached the MS. He opens the cockpit door and apologizes to 8, but he could not find 8 anywhere.

Some mecha information:

Destiny R Silhouette
As the unit is not equipped with the deuterion beam energy transfer system, it can easily run out of energy while using its weapons.

GOUF Galactica
According to the translated modelling page, the beams coming out of its wings serve as beam capes. Additional armor is added to areas that have a high probability of being hit during battle. The shield can also emits two short beam blades from the bottom.

Gelb Raider
According to the modelling page, the unit’s main design concept revolves around doubling the Raider’s thrusters, to give the impression that it has very high speed. Its weaponry has also been enhanced to give the feel that the suit has been strengthened. Additional sensor unit is added to each side of the head and the thing in between the IWSP cannons is a balancer. The "Super Mjolnir" Spherical Breaker simply has larger and sharper spikes. The beam cannons added to the shield cannon are actually from LaGOWE. The fact that the suit uses parts from LaGOWE and IWSP seems to be retained in the MS’s setting.

Rot Forbidden
The Rot Forbidden has enhanced defensive and melee combat capability, so that it can cooperate well with Blau Calamity and Gelb Raider, which is responsible for ranged attacks and disrupting the enemy respectively. According to the modelling page, Rot Forbidden’s initial design concept is to have twice the original’s "Geschmeidig Panzer" energy deflection armor, but as that negatively affected the gunpla’s balance, it was changed to have new "Geschmeidig Panzer" colloid particle dispensers in the front skirt armor and legs. The new leg parts also contain additional thrusters. As always, the suit’s weapons are increased/enhanced to give the feel that it is stronger. The forehead camera is replaced by a beam cannon, which serves as a ‘secret’ weapon. The machine guns on the forearm seems to have been upsized, and other modifications are as balafo previously mentioned, the scythe is now double bladed, a pair of diffuse beam canons is added to the backpack and the Hresvelgr is also enlarged, but the rail cannons are unmodified.

Hyperion GR & GL
Based on the Hyperion G, they are basically identical to their predecessor expect that GL (I think) has the backpack binder on the left side and the back-mounted machine gun on the right. They are fully controlled by the AI, 80, and are commandeered by Turn Red. They are designed to work together to protect the Turn Red that will be between them during battle. The ‘G’ in their name do not mean ‘Ground’, but instead it means ‘Good’.

Turn Red
Due to having two Tactical Arms, V.V. describes it as having twice the power of Blue Frame Second L. He also feels that it is the coolest unit out of all the Astray Gundam variants. It is fully controlled by the AI, 80. When the two Tactical Arms transform into flight mode, they are positioned vertically on each side. I think the 4 power packs on the backpack is for the two Tactical Arms. On the Blue Frame Second L, 2 power packs are attached to the Tactical Arm during Gatling mode.

Re: Gundam Seed Astray Destiny R/B

Here's Chapter 10.

Upon returning to the Junk Guild’s facility, Lowe immediately analyzes the data left in the Red Frame. The battle between Blau Calamity, Gelb Raider and Destiny Impulse R is recorded and Lowe recognizes the first two as V.V.’s creations. He wonders if V.V. knows about 8 and replays the video sent by Jess. He then realizes that the video’s voice is similar to the researcher that contacted him for the event hosted by Actaeon Industries. Previously, Lowe had been so focused on the Blau Calamity that he did not pay much attention to the voice. Kisato, who is nearby, then reveals that she also heard the voice before and later confirms that it belongs to the guy she met while they were at the DSSD station. Lowe is surprised and Kisato explains that she remembers him well due to his weird clothing. Kisato’s drawing is not that good, but Lowe immediately recognizes it as the ‘Pirate King’s treasure’ and is quite shocked. Kisato wonders what is going on and Lowe replies that he has a rough idea. He feels that all the events thus far are V.V.’s doing. In truth, some of these events have nothing to do with V.V., but Lowe has reasons to believe that most of them are his doing. He is certain that 8 is in V.V.’s hands and decides to contact him in order to retrieve 8.

After the battle with Destiny Impulse R, 8 is captured by V.V. and he is very excited to have obtained it. Although V.V.’s research topic is very wide, the most important area is on the practical application of combat AI. He feels that Lowe is very lucky to get this AI that is created using unknown technology, and believes that mass producing it will allow the creation of an invincible army. Like Lowe and the Professor, V.V. is soon confounded by 8’s internal structure. So far, only Mikhail Coast has successfully navigated 8’s interior (this is a reference to one of the stories in Destiny Astray novel). As such, V.V. decides to negotiate with 8 in order to get it to provide him with the data he wants. He offers various enticing terms, like polishing 8 everyday, but the AI did accept any. He finally succeeded when he offers to send 8 back to Lowe once the mass production is successful. This came as a surprise for V.V. as he does not understand why 8 wants to be with the foolish Natural. However, it does make his job easier, and V.V. starts to create a combat AI based on 8’s design.

V.V. decides to name the combat AI as ‘80’ to symbolize that it will be 10x better than 8. Although 8 feels like criticizing V.V.’s simplistic naming, it decides to keep quiet as it is not in the mood. 8 is actually also shocked at its own attachment to Lowe as this is not the first time it is separated from him. Tiny letters then appear on 8’s display as it wonders if this is what others meant when they talk about irreplaceable partner. Anyway to get back to Lowe, 8 starts to work on creating a combat use copy of itself. This is not what 8 truly wants, but it believes that Lowe will help it solve the matter later. V.V. is observing the work progress when one of the devices on his clothing alerts him to an urgent mail. He then learns from his spies’ mail that the developer behind Destiny Impulse R is also researching on AI technology, and decides to deploy the MS under his control to stop this. Unknown to V.V. then, his actions will trigger a large scale battle later…

According to the information gathered by his spies, ZAFT had analyzed the outcome of the battles during the previous war and the results indicated that a small group of ace pilots can have a large influence on the battle’s outcome. However, the rarity of such pilots posed a problem. Thus, the ‘Buddy System’ which involves partnering two pilots that are close to ace level was born. In this system, the Destiny Impulse R would operate jointly with the DI Adaga, and the combat data gained from such deployments would be used for further development. The final aim is to have one human pilot working together with an AI partner. V.V. is angered by this separate attempt to develop an AI, but he finds the Buddy System a brilliant idea and decides to create a similar system for his three Gundams. He names it ‘Trio System’, a simple to understand name as usual. V.V. is confident that victory will be his even if he do not deploy his new system, but to be safe, he decides to take things a step further and deploy ‘that machine’.

‘That machine’ refers to the Strike Gundam that V.V. had prepared in advance, it is meant to be his personal MS and is supposed to be equipped with the new combat AI once the system is completed. For this mission, the Strike Gundam will be equipped with an experimental AI instead and as such, it does not have full combat capabilities. It is however sufficient for recording down all the data about his three MS and the opponent’s units, which will be useful for further development. V.V. will not be launching with the suit as he prefers not to be in dangerous situation. He later laid an ambush based on the information from his spies, and Destiny Impulse R and the DI Adaga soon appear. Both suits are crisscrossing the numerous asteroids at high speed and a certain distance between each other seems to be precisely maintained thanks to the support from the AI. V.V wants this AI technology for himself and orders the launching of the three Gundams.

The cooperation between V.V.’s three suits is comparable to that of the enemy’s. Despite this, the battle seems to be more of a stalemate than the previous one, whereby Blau Calamity and Gelb Raider successfully defeated Destiny Impulse R. This proves that the Buddy System is indeed a tough system. V.V. starts to root for his three Gundams, calling them his strongest creations and for them to show their perseverance, which is rather surprising as the latter is a mental quality that seems to be at odd with V.V.’s scientific job. Perhaps, it is due to his vocal support, the three Gundams later managed to destroy the DI Adaga. V.V. is delighted by this development but his joy is short lived as the Silhouette pack flies away unharmed. He then orders the capture of the Silhouette pack as he thinks that its escape is to preserve the data it contains. As the Strike Gundam is the nearest to the target, it opens both its hands in an attempt to catch it, which if successful, will provide V.V. with lots of useful data. The unexpected then occurs.

The Destiny R Silhouette docks with the Strike Gundam after maneuvering to its back. By right, this should not be possible as the Strike and Impulse Gundam are developed by different factions. V.V. quickly realized that the Destiny R Silhouette is able to carry out this seemingly impossible act because it is designed with the ability to dock with both kinds of backpack port. The battlefield is then thrown into chaos as the Strike starts to attack using the Destiny R Silhouette’s rifles. V.V. lets out a roar of frustration. His MS under the enemy’s control is indeed a problem, but he is more upset about the AI system falling into their hands. Sure, the AI is incomplete, but it is still created using his unique technology. Since there is no other way out, V.V. decides to use the last resort. He takes out from his clothing a push button that is attached to a red wire and presses it down. The Strike Gundam self-destructs, but the Destiny R Silhouette escapes unharmed. The Destiny Impulse R escapes as well and although V.V. wins the battle, he lost the Strike Gundam which is quite costly for his company. To redeem his failure, V.V. is determined to develop the strongest MS equipped with the 80. He will then use it to achieve total victory and extract all of the opponent’s data. V.V. swears to himself that he will definitely succeed the next time.

Additional information for Astray Noir D:
The ‘D’ stands for destiny and the name ‘Astray Noir’ is retained as the suit’s main body is black in color. The suit is given to Elsa by ‘The Family’ before its collapse. It has higher mobility than the original Astray Noir and although the Sword Pistols remain as its main weapons, the combat style is different as the suit’s characteristics have changed.

Re: Gundam Seed Astray Destiny R/B

The penultimate chapter for Destiny Astray R.

Chapter 11

Unlike the Destiny Gundam, which is a multi-functional MS created for ace pilots, the Destiny Impulse R is designed for pilots that are close to ace level. This makes it easier to find pilots for the latter suit, but at least two units must be deployed together so that they can battle hand in hand with overwhelming power. This is possible thanks to the incorporation of the Buddy System into their OS, and test results of the system so far have been encouraging, but the goal of the project is higher, the aim is to replace one of the human pilots with an AI and this can also alleviate the problem with pilot supply to a certain degree. In theory, it is possible to have both units controlled by AI, but it is not part of the project as a human is often still needed to make judgement calls. Although the system is still in testing phase, it is already possible to replace one of the pilots with an AI. To improve the system further, more combat data is needed. This will not only improve the system’s performance by leaps and bounds, but can also help it to enter the mainstream. However, it is normally quite difficult to meet with a battle whenever one wants, but during the tests Destiny Impulse R unexpectedly fought with a highly skilled junk tech and some civilian developed suits. Thus, the system’s developer decides to pick a fight with them in order to gather more combat data.

In one of the facilities in space that is managed by V.V., Lowe finally meets face to face with the Coordinator. He extends his hand for a handshake, but V.V. immediately frowns and smacks it aside while remarking that Natural’s hands are dirty and full of bacteria. Lowe is however not bothered by the rude behaviour and apologizes for not cleaning his hands, which are full of grease marks and scars caused by the tools he used as he prefers hands on in his work. So it is unsurprising that others find his hands dirty, but for the junk techs, the marks and scars are badges of honor and thus Lowe is not ashamed of his hands. He then goes straight to the point and asks V.V. to return 8 to him. V.V. complies and 8, with a ‘Disinfected’ sticker paste on it, appears on the elevator heading their way. Lowe kindly asks 8 how it has been and the latter replies in big letters that almost take up its whole display that he is late. Lowe apologizes to 8, while a disinterested V.V. looks on and says that he has fulfilled his part of the bargain with 8. The combat AI, 80, has been completed, it is a combination of the AI that 8 designs with the AI that V.V. is researching on. V.V. then decides to show off his strongest army and this immediately arouses Lowe’s interest.

Smiling at Lowe’s eagerness to see his creations, V.V. snaps his fingers and the hangar door opens, revealing several MS inside. V.V. introduces his army starting from the upgraded second generation GAT-X machines. Lowe has seen two of them before, but these machines are now fitted with 80 and have no need for human pilots. The use of the AI also caused the three suits’ performance to improve greatly, and they also have the ‘Trio System’ to improve their coordination during battles. Lowe is of course unaware that the Trio System is a copy of Destiny Impulse R’s Buddy System. V.V. then moves on to the Hyperion GR and GL, and Lowe wonders why they only have a single "Armure Lumiere" mono-phase lightwave shield on opposite side. V.V. has been expecting this question and replies that they will be working together to protect another suit that will be in between them during battle. He adds that the protection they offer is perfect as they are also controlled by 80. He then finally introduces the suit that Hyperion GR and GL will be protecting and purposely stops halfway. This makes Lowe even more interested in seeing the suit, and upon seeing this V.V. laughs out loudly and proudly introduce it as his personal MS, the Gundam Astray Turn Red. The hangar floor then splits open and a MS slowly rises up. At the same time, music starts playing in the background and all the spotlights focused on the suit. Lowe is shocked by its appearance.

The Turn Red is a red colored Gundam Astray but unlike the Red Frame, it is the armor that is red while the frame is white. By right, the suit should be known as White Frame. Lowe finds the design interesting, and V.V. explains that Turn Red has two Tactical Arms, so its power is twice that of Blue Frame Second L. He makes a ‘V’ sign while saying this and seems to be very proud about it. Lowe then points that although there are two Tactical Arms, it does not automatically make the suit twice as strong. V.V. stutters slightly and replies that he is aware of it, he is just explaining the suit’s power to a Natural in the simplest way possible. He then grumbles that his kindness is unappreciated. This is obviously a very strenuous excuse, but Lowe does not seem to mind. Lowe then comments that it must be hard to control two Tactical Arms at once, and V.V. says that it is not a problem since the controls are all handled by 80. He adds that he could be asleep in the cockpit and the victory will still be his. V.V. then speaks of his wish to pilot the Turn Red in battle as soon as possible, while Lowe is eager to see it in action. The facility’s alarm then sounded, their wishes have been granted.

Lowe launches in the Red Dragon, while V.V. deploys all his MS and launches in the Turn Red. The attackers consist of one Destiny Impulse R and numerous DI Adagas. Unknown to Lowe and V.V., this is a final gambit by Destiny Impulse R and DI Adaga’s developer to improve the AI system within the shortest time. Except for that one Destiny Impulse R, all the other usable units have been converted to AI controlled DI Adagas to gain as much combat data as possible. Lowe is taken aback by the large numbers of attackers and remarks that V.V. must have tick someone off badly. V.V. refutes this and alleges that it must be the Lowe’s lousy work that caused this attack, he is just an innocent bystander dragged into the conflict. As fighting with such a large group of enemies without a plan is too reckless, Lowe asks V.V. for suggestions and he simply replies that they need to battle it out with the enemies and show that their technical skills are better. Lowe notices that only one of the attackers have a dual eye setup and wonders if that unit is the one controlling the others. V.V. then says that he is about to point this out, and suggests that they concentrate their attacks on that unit and let Blau Calamity, Gelb Raider and Rot Forbidden deal with the rest. Lowe agrees with the plan.

Crisis can always cause people to do the unthinkable, Lowe and V.V. are now cooperating like old friends, the former destroys incoming attackers using the Caletvwlch, while the latter’s Hyperion GR and GL shield them from ranged attacks. The Red Dragon and Turn Red easily advances, while the enemies are obviously trying to protect the dual eye Destiny Impulse R, which is the same as telling others their weakness. Lowe declares that his observations are right while V.V. claims that everything is going according as planned. Both are soon in front of Destiny Impulse R and the DI Adagas’ attacks have weaken in intensity as they are afraid of hitting their own unit. Lowe wonders what do they do now, and V.V. suggests that they destroy the Destiny Impulse R using their swords as it is more stylish. He also proposed a competition to see who lands the killing blow and Lowe accepts the challenge. Red Frame transforms the Caletvwlch into sword mode, while the Turn Red has in its hands one of the Tactical Arms in sword form. Lowe is surprised that Turn Red is not using both Tactical Arms, and V.V. calls him a foolish Natural before adding that if Turn Red uses both, victory will definitely be his and that is too unfair for Lowe. Lowe then thanks V.V. for giving him a chance.

DI Adagas’ attacks did not stop while Lowe and V.V. are looking for a chance to attack Destiny Impulse R. They thus have to make full use of the slightest gap that appear in the enemies’ attacks. As the range attacks stop momentarily, Lowe decides to act but a DI Adaga near him immediately rushes forward. Lowe easily destroys it using the Caletvwlch and V.V.’s Turn Red takes the opportunity to charge ahead. V.V. claims that the last blow is his and Lowe responds that he will not allow it. Lowe activates the other two Caletvwlchs on Red Dragon, and as his MS is lighter, he should have the advantage. However, the Turn Red ejects the other Tactical Arms to reduce its weights and accelerates. Both suits slash at Destiny Impulse R simultaneously and a large ‘X’ splits the latter’s body apart.

Re: Gundam Seed Astray Destiny R/B

Finally, the last chapter for Destiny Astray R.

Chapter 12

Through their cooperation, Lowe and V.V. defeated the Destiny Impulse R and the accompanying DI Adagas. Although the enemies are all prototypes, they are still MS developed with the intention of being formally deployed by ZAFT. As such, they should not be so easily defeated by civilian technical staffs. One of the possible reasons for something as unexpected as this to occur is that both Lowe and V.V. are very highly skilled. However, that is insufficient to explain what happened. The key reason for them winning the battle seems to be that they are very lucky. This may not be a very scientific way of explaining things, but facts are facts.

After alighting from his MS, V.V. immediately goes over and hugs Lowe. Lowe is shocked by V.V.’s action but quickly hugs back, they then had a firm handshake. In a relaxing manner, Lowe reveals that the large number of enemies caused him to break out in cold sweat initially but he is relieved that they won the battle in the end. A joyful V.V. then says that as long as he has his strongest robotic army, he can defeat any enemy. Lowe remarks that V.V. is very confident in his reply and the latter calls it an objective fact, winning the former’s admiration. V.V. then claims that he dealt the last blow, and although Lowe wants to point out that their attacks hit Destiny Impulse R simultaneously, he stops halfway to avoid spoiling V.V.’s mood. Furthermore, to Lowe, who landed the last blow does not really matter. He is satisfied that he had piloted his MS well and launched the best attack he could. V.V. comments that Lowe is quite a capable guy despite being a Natural, and the latter is initially unsure what to make of it. In the end, Lowe decides to see it as a praise and thanks V.V. for it. V.V. then says that Lowe is right to be grateful as he rarely praises others.

Lowe remarks that V.V. is friendlier than he thought and that his hug is unexpected. As it turns out, the hug is actually an unconscious action and V.V. has totally no recollection of ever doing it. Despite his vigorous denial, V.V. is forced to admit the hugging when 8 shows him the video that it captured earlier. He later explains that it is his non-verbal way of encouraging Lowe, and that he is forced to do it as he had hurt his throat and cannot speak. Lowe then points out that he is speaking quite fluently for someone who had hurt his throat, and V.V. admonishes him (while coughing) for not understanding the pains he had taken to explain his circumstances. He subsequently challenges Lowe to a duel and gives the latter one week to think about it and to prepare his MS. Lowe initially wanted to refuse the duel as he could not find a reason to fight with V.V., but he accepts it in the end as he thinks that it could be quite interesting.

A week later on earth, Lowe had prepared the Red Dragon and a container full of various equipment as he wants to be ready for any kind of challenge. V.V. had only said it is a duel but did not specify what kind of competition it is going to be. Lowe even wondered if V.V. is thinking of an eating competition and is ill at ease as he could not think of a machine that can eat. 8 then reveals that V.V. once claimed that he is a good cook, and Lowe quickly rebukes it for not telling him earlier. Suddenly, V.V.’s voice echoes throughout the area and Blau Calamity, Gelb Raider and Rot Forbidden appear. Lowe is then informed by V.V. that he has to defeat the three Gundams before he can fight with him. Although 3 vs 1 is not really a fair duel, it is one of the more normal ones that Lowe had thought of and he is quite interested to know how Red Dragon compares against V.V.’s three Gundams. As he prepares to rush headlong into the fight, 8 advises him to calm down and says that 80, the combat AI that is controlling the three Gundams, is very capable and relying purely on power will not be enough to win it. A confident Lowe then tells 8 that he will think of a way out.

8 has mixed feelings about seeing a copy of itself defeated, but this did not affect his wish for Lowe to be victorious. It then comments that there should be a weakness in the cooperation between the three Gundams as the Trio System is designed by V.V., and Lowe quickly understands that 8 is hinting that a system created through collaboration tends to have some imperfection. As the battle progresses, Red Dragon got caught in the center of the three Gundam’s delta formation. By using the delta formation, the three Gundams can ensure that their attacks will not hit each other. Despite this, Lowe remains unfazed as he had anticipated such a move. He has the Red Dragon aims its three Caletvwlchs (one in each hand and the last unit mounted on the Flight Unit) individually at the three Gundams, and orders a full disable of all three Caletvwlchs’ limiter. A powerful beam then shoots out of each Caletvwlch and destroy the three Gundams.

Unlike the normal disabling of the limiter, a full disable allows the Caletvwlch to fire a high amount of energy at its target, destroying it in one hit. However, this is at the cost of damaging the Caletvwlch itself as the energy fired is above the safety limit. Lowe puts the useless Caletvwlchs on the ground and vows to repair them once the battle is over. The Turn Red then appears as V.V. voices his shock at the battle’s outcome. The duel between Turn Red and Red Frame begins, and the former launches an attack using the Tactical Arms, which has adopt a ‘<’ shape, as a boomerang. Lowe is surprised by this attack, and is mocked by V.V. for not knowing his own creation well. Turn Red continues with the boomerang attacks and although Red Frame dodges them easily, the intensity of the attacks soon forced it to block using the Gerbera Straight. But unexpectedly, the Tactical Arms uses the katana as the centre of rotation and destroys the Red Frame’s Ddraig Head. Lowe curses at the damage while V.V. celebrates in the Turn Red’s cockpit with a victory pose. Normally, this should not be possible but since the MS is fully controlled by 80, V.V.’s hands do not really need to be on the control sticks.

The Tactical Arms that destroys the Ddraig Head returns to Turn Red’s hand but soon breaks apart, surprising V.V. He then realizes that Red Frame’s katana had damaged the Tactical Arms while blocking it. So the outcome is more of a draw, but Turn Red is still in a better shape as it still has one Tactical Arms left. However in a shocking decision, V.V. decides to throw away the other Tactical Arms. He explains to a puzzled Lowe that as the Tactical Arms is the latter’s design, the victory would not truly be his if he obtained it using the weapon. He also allows Lowe to repair the damaged head as he is confident that the victory is his. Lowe then repairs the Red Frame using the normal head unit that is inside the container. The duel restarts and Turn Red punches Red Frame. V.V. reasons that punching will allow the outcome to be decided based purely on MS’s performance. Lowe likes the idea and so he retaliates in the same way. Even though it is just punching, there are still various factors to consider like which area to target when punching, etc.

After trading numerous blows, Turn Red begins to slow down. Lowe is puzzled by this but 8 quickly understands that this is because the pilot is being harmed. The punches deal little damage to the suit but it is another story for the pilot, the punches’ impact can be quite bad for the human body. When programming 80, 8 had acted according to V.V.’s instruction and set the pilot’s survivability as the AI’s top priority. In short, Turn Red has slowed down to protect its pilot. Based on this information, Lowe decides to deliver the knockout blow. Red Frame then launches the powerful ‘Red Flame’ punch, hitting Turn Red squarely on its body and causing it to stagger backwards severely. V.V. is knocked unconscious by the blow and Turn Red raises its hands in surrender as 80 wants to protect the pilot. Lowe then declares that victory is his and later carries V.V. out of the cockpit as he feels bad leaving him in the cockpit. 8 agrees with his decision, and when V.V. wakes up, he had a hard time accepting his defeat. He swears that he will defeat Lowe one day, and with a smile, Lowe replies that he will be waiting for V.V.’s challenge.

According to this picture (http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-HVy4wV974jI/U ... 546456.jpg) posted on Gundam Guy recently, the Turn Red is apparently built using spare parts from Astray Noir.

Re: Gundam Seed Astray Destiny R/B

And the compilation for B vol.2 has an extra chapter showing a fight between Lili and Elsa VS Elijah(with Canard and another Lili appearing later)

EDIT: Seems Dante piloted the Blue Frame D at some point against Elsa

Re: Gundam Seed Astray Destiny R/B

Quite late, but better late than never i suppose. More information about Blue Frame D's DRAGOONs based on what i can read from the MG manual (may contain errors… ).
- Sword DRAGOONs can also be used as shields due to their large size.
- Sensor DRAGOONs can be deployed to gather intelligence /data.
- Stealth DRAGOONs have stealth capability due to being equipped with Mirage Colloid. They can also form a beam bending field, but interestingly Geschmeidig Panzer is not mentioned.
- Beam Cannon DRAGOONs are equipped with high-output beam cannons, but they have limited number of shots.
- The swords formed from the combination of the DRAGOONs and the Blade Gun is known as Sipel Swords. Apparently the word 'Sipel' is the backward spelling of the greek word for 'scale', lepis.
- Since the suit's profile in the manual mentions that controlling DRAGOONs is a hidden trump card for Gai, i presume that the suit's DRAGOONs are of the 1st gen that require high spatial awareness.

Some new stuff story-wise, about the battle between Astray Noir and Blue Frame D, the battlefield is a debris field. Dante notes that this is advantageous for him as Astray Noir can uses its anchor for maneuvering. However, since the one who chose this place is Gai and mercenary always picks a location that is to his advantage, Dante is certain that Gai has some tricks up his sleeves.

About the battle between Astray Noir D and Blue Frame D, Blue Frame D starts the fight using the Sipel Swords. Astray Noir D then creates numerous after-images using its Mirage Colloid and attacks. After seeing through the after-images using the Sensor DRAGOONs, Blue Frame D dispels them with its Sipel Swords. Then there is something about the Stealth DRAGOONs and beams that i cannot read.

Re: Gundam Seed Astray Destiny R/B

Manual also says D is Blue Frame's strongest form and was used other times. It has recently appeared in EXA VS too

The latest R book also has an extra chapter of Lowe using the Power Loader.

I'm dying to see the upgraded drug trio MS colored lineart :)

Re: Gundam Seed Astray Destiny R/B

Question, since I get somewhat confused by Astray's timeline:

Does the Librarian Works stuff happen before or after the most recent Astray stuff? Because the Caltewich feels inferior to Red Frame Kai, but the Blue Frame D definitely seems superior to 2nd Revised.

Re: Gundam Seed Astray Destiny R/B

The Librarian stuff happens after Seed Destiny Astray R/B. in B, i don't think there is any mentioning of 2nd Revised, which is an improved version of 2nd L. I suppose you can think of Blue Frame D as a last resort for Gai, i think it was mentioned in Seed Vs Astray that mercenary do not show their trump card until necessary or something like that.

There is this old thread that deals with the Astray series timeline: http://www.mechatalk.net/viewtopic.php? ... ne#p364199

Re: Gundam Seed Astray Destiny R/B

Just seen a translation of a Seed Destiny Astray B special chapter, it is about Blue Frame D's first test launch. Here's the summary.

-Gai decides to build the Blue Frame D in Ame-no-Mihashira as he wants to avoid news leaking out to Dante that the suit is equipped with DRAGOONs.
-Dante is unaware that Gai can control DRAGOONs.
-When Mina is informed that Blue Frame D is completed, she immediately remarks that that is a sad thing. She is aware that once the MS is completed, Gai will leave her place and may die in the battle with Dante.
-Mina suggested that Gai stays at Ame-no-Mihashira till the Blue Frame D's adjustments are all completed. To help with the adjustments, she offered the Socius clones as his mock battle opponents.
-The mock battle is a 2 v 1 fight, Sword Calamity and Raider Full Spec against Blue Frame D.
-Sword Calamity and Raider Full Spec were selected as they can work together to partially replicate the fighting style of the Astray Noir.
-When Mina heard Gai's confirmation that fighting against 2 Socius clones is now an easy task, she remarks that she wants to be the one to crush this confidence of his but stopped mid way.
-To prevent the battle from being seen by others, a special micro particle was dispersed before the fight.
-To replicate the Astray Noir's fighting style, the Raider Full Spec grabs onto the Sword Calamity using its claws as the Socius clones attacks.
-Gai launches his attack using the Beam Cannon DRAGOONs. He also anticipated the Socius clones' evasion movements and has the Sword DRAGOONs waiting at the appropriate place.
-Sword Calamity defects the attack from the Sword DRAGOONs but was hit by the cloaked Stealth DRAGOONs.
-To restrict the DRAGOONs movements, the Raider Full Spec releases its grip on Sword Calamity and tried to use the 20mm machine guns mounted in the claws.
-The Raider Full Spec's attempt was immediately countered by the DRAGOONs. The Socius clone is puzzled as from Blue Frame D's view, Raider Full Spec's claws are behind Sword Calamity. Thus, Gai should not have seen what he is trying to do.
-Gai accomplished what the Socius clone thought was impossible due to the use of the Sensor DRAGOONs. The DRAGOONs were positioned to capture images that Blue Frame D cannot see.
-Gai then decides to test out the Vouivre Striker. This Striker pack’s main purpose is to allow the Blue Frame D to accelerate/move in a single direction at the fastest possible speed.
-Gai decides to create this striker pack after pondering on the result of a battle stimulation.
-The Blade guns were also designed, but were not manufactured together with the Blue Frame D as they were deemed unnecessary for the battle with Dante. The equipment was KIV in case of future needs.
-Before Gai can test the Vouivre Striker, the Sensor DRAGOONs' mirage colloid detectors detected something.
-Gai correctly deduces that the signal is due to Gold Frame Amatsu Mina.
-Mina decides to join in as she cannot hold herself back. She promised that she will avoid causing serious damage to Blue Frame D.
-Gai make no such assurance as he is not that familiar with Blue Frame D's control yet. The chapter ends as Gai and Mina fights each other.
