Re: The Official Gundam AGE Anime Thread Mk IV

Well, outside of the mock battle and whole "you are you" lesson, this arc got disappointing again fast.

And Romary is now Bella from Twilight, oh great. [/sarcasm]

If she starts being flirty with Asemu only then can you make that comparison.

She's obviously Kio's mother, it'll happen eventually.

As someone else mentioned, a more appropriate spurious analogy is to Nina Purpleton.

Re: The Official Gundam AGE Anime Thread Mk IV

Again, wait until she's flirty with Asemu while also still pining for Zeheart. Bella fooled around with both Edward and Jacob, while Nina betrayed her new love for the sake of the old one. We know that Romary is Kio's mother so she will hook up with Asemu. However it's probable that takes place after Romary resolves whatever feelings she had with Zeheart. As of right now she's merely pining for some one who turned out to be an enemy. This makes her no worse a person than Shiro or Aina.

Re: The Official Gundam AGE Anime Thread Mk IV

can i ask why we're even bothering to respond to DuelGundam2099 at this point? he is to this show what our old pal Zero Revenge i think was to Code Geass and 00: the only reason he's still watching this show is to come here and bitch about it, and then bask in all the attention he gets for it.

no, you don't have to just endlessly gush about Gundam AGE here--lord knows i haven't--but if all you can do is whine about something or other week in and week out, well, what are you doing here?

Re: The Official Gundam AGE Anime Thread Mk IV

Somehow the words "flirty" and "Romary" don't seem to go together. :)

What I bet is going to happen is that Romary will continue to be mostly in the background, having a few conversations with Asemu, then, during the final battle, Asemu and The Heart will fight until their suits are trashed and get out to contimue. Romary will show up and tearfully tell them that she cares about both of them and doesn't want to see them both fight.

But yes, this was a very good episode and I enjoyed it. Here's hoping that Big Ring will have an extra large dose of awesome.

I don't really want to see a repeat of last gen, where Emily was pushed off to the side and then later we have to just accept that she hooked up with Flit off screen.

But who knows. Maybe Kio will be from a one night stand that resulted from grief over Zeheart's death or something. They don't necessarily have to become a couple and get married.

What? Not true. I am kind of enjoying it, the problem I am having is that this arc isn't as likable as Flit's, but I am still a gundam fan so I am at least going to wait until it ends before outright disliking it. Besides, Double Bullet and Khronos haven't shown up yet so there is still hope for this arc.

Re: The Official Gundam AGE Anime Thread Mk IV

The aim of ep 21 seemed to be character building, and it did just that. Max appears to dislike the fact that he is of a higher rank than Asemu, but is an inferior pilot. The guy with the red hair (can't remember his name) falls for the female mechanic with the glasses. Arisa got nothing this week, but she got more attention than the others the last two eps, so its understandable.

Asem got some good development, as he seems to not be able to become an X rounder, and with Woolf's help, strives to become stronger his own way. We finally got to see Romary and Asem meet, and she acted a bit odd with the whole jealousy comment. I don't think she's Bella horrible quite yet, let's just see where that goes. Hopefully it won't be in that direction.

Despite Asem, Flit stole the show for me. The guy looks and acts like a commander should, and is cool as hell on top of that. The preview showed the Age-1, so we might get to see Flit fight in the next ep. I hope Desil is sortied as well, that ought to make a fantastic episode.

How hilarious would it be if Asem was indeed old girl Rosie's second choice due to Zeaheart's potential death at the end of this time frame, it would be like two generations running for Asem's family on his mom's side.

Also, before he started talking I was going to say Mardona had a girl since he looked quite a bit like his mom. But either way, his existence and Mardona apparently not aging beyond his previous old man state proves, either space Viagra is insanely powerful and a fountain of youth or he may not be as old as we (or at least I feel I might have been) led to believe.

That would be a relief from one of the most overused tropes in the existence of human narratives.

Mardona is 81 at present. His son is 24, though, meaning he had him in his late 50's. A man's reproductive functions work for a lot longer than females' do.

Now that the glasses girl with wrench from OP is confirmed as just another mechanic, we have no clue on what kind of woman Arisa's mom is. Also, Obright and the girl: a reverse Kayra-Astonage romance? Hopefully it won't end tragically.

Re: The Official Gundam AGE Anime Thread Mk IV

In some ways, I really wish they hadn't announced the three protagonists so early. It's caused the same problem as the Star Wars prequels, 'it doesn't how badly written the romance is because they end up together anyway'. If we knew Flit and Asemu's destined partners ahead of time but were treated to well written interaction and development leading up to those moments that would be perfect. Instead, it feels like the staff are making only token efforts which is a real shame. The idea of a multi generation story really should be exploring this angle so much better.

Well, aside from Audio Discrepancy that happened. I also noticed that the preview has different images, one of differences is showing

SonicSP wrote: I find it unlikely there's going to be another lost Gundam somewhere though considering that the show so far seems intent on keeping Gundam developement to the AGE System , one "present main" Gundam and its Wears. It would be pretty weird if another different Gundam made from old technology would appear suddenly IMO.
That may be so for the main protagonist Mobile Suit, but since seed / destiny and 00 it kind of became a habit of having multiple gundam Mobile suits in the ranks of friends and foes alike.

I don't think they would go back to the roots of the original to have one gundam (in this case for each protagonist) and leave it at that.

i wouldn't be surprised if by the end of the series at least one "enemy" gundam type would appear.

Re: The Official Gundam AGE Anime Thread Mk IV

If nothing else, the fact that the Vagan leader seems to have a mysterious agenda in regards to the Gundam leads me to suspect there might be a dark secret to the famous saviour. It wouldn't surprise me if they pulled a Reborns and had the final battle be against Sir Ezalcant in a twisted Gundam utilising lost technology.
