Wow, Chris-chan, if you're gonna go out, that's the way to do it.

Twin Moonlight Sattelite Buster Cannon Butterfly for the win!

I sure hope it's a fake out.

Re: Senki Zesshou Symphogear

It's probably not.
Spoiler
Crashing to the ground after falling through the atmosphere after taking a shot from a kilometer-tall ion cannon to the face after singing her Swan Song -- her prospects aren't exactly stellar at this point. :(

Still, as Vent Noir mentioned, that was a hell of a way to go. Here's hoping that they manage to redraw that scene for the Blu-Ray version. As Darth Vader would say: the QUALITY was strong with that one. =P

Re: Senki Zesshou Symphogear

So, episode 12:
Spoiler
Tsubasa transformed into a flaming Pheonix of destruction and sacrificed herself too. Hibiki of course fell into epic despair.

BUT THEN SUDDENLY EVERYBODY WAS ALIVE AGAIN.

AND ALL ARMED WITH NEW SYMPHOGEARS, NO LESS!

FINALE IS NEXT WEEK. IT IS GOING TO BE FREAKING AWESOME.

That is, until Hibiki sings her swan song and dies for real. =(

What is the deal with anybody who is not Kanade singing their Swan Song and somehow not falling to pieces, anyway? It's making her retroactively appear more and more not awesome. :?

I was kind of expecting
Spoiler
Chris to survive because, you know, she was shot by an anti-moon cannon, but she's not a moon.
I also found fourth-wall girl hilarious when she started breaking down. Not to mention Fine's monologue/rantings which apparently went on until SUNRISE.

Re: Senki Zesshou Symphogear

Show's over. Pretty awesome finale.
Spoiler
Glad they subverted the 'foregone conclusion' of ep 1
So Symphogear wasn't particularly good but it was lots of fun. In my book fun trumps quality every day of the week.

Yeah; the campiness was a big part of what made Symphogear, Symphogear. I couldn't help but grin at Chris's UNLIMITED MISSILE WORKS. And I even found Aoi Yuuki's singing to be actually tolerable, there at the end.

Re: Senki Zesshou Symphogear

My favourite bit from the last episode:

Hibiki: Nice scattershot, Chris!
Chris: Scattershot? I was aiming at all of them!

Re: Senki Zesshou Symphogear

Well, that finale was certainly something. It would have been a bit more satisfying if it hadn't been quite as asspull-y, but the new Symphogears were just as awesome as expected, so that makes up for it.

Apparently, they're going to be wrapping things up with some sort of live event later this year. o.O Well, okay then.

I wonder if this means if we'll get to see Yuuki Aoi dressed up in some sort of Symphogear cosplay. One can only hope!

I eagerly look forward to seeing more of Hibiki's charm point. Oh, also ZENBU and the return of "This isn't anime!" girl.

Speaking of which, Freezing is also getting a second season. Kinda wish they adapted Onihime VS instead.

Re: Senki Zesshou Symphogear

Funny how Symphogear was going to be 26 eps, got cut down to 13, and is now getting a 2nd season.

Re: Senki Zesshou Symphogear

AND NOW, THREE NEW (evil) SYMPHOGEAR USERS.

http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g298/ ... a7766c.jpg
http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g298/ ... cca013.jpg

Their names are:
マリア・カデンツァヴナ・イブ (Maria Cadenzavna(?) Eve)
VA: Yōko Hikasa

暁切歌 (Setsuka Akatsuki)(?)
VA: Ai Kayano

月読調 (Shirabe Tsukiyomi)(?)
VA: Yoshino Nanjou

The designs of their suits... not bad. I'm sure I'll be more impressed, though, once they start busting out whatever crazy weapons they have in store for us.

THIS IS GONNA BE BANANAS, I CAN FEEL IT.

Symphogear G airs in nine hours, so I've taken the liberty of bumping the existing thread back up to page 1.

Official PV for hype purposes.

I like Tsukiyomi's disk-launcher twin-tail thingies, and is that....a flying shark Noise?!?

Re: Senki Zesshou Symphogear

So this is what Symphogear looks like with a budget...

Definitely doesn't skip a beat diving back into things. I look forward to more of what I liked from the first season.

Though why didn't Chris get a transformation scene?

Re: Senki Zesshou Symphogear

I, for one, am glad that ANIME JA NAI! Girl is also back. Not to mention an apparent improvement in Aoi Yuuki's singing, relic/swansong users still bleeding from every orifice in their faces, Maria's weeping fans and that one guy collecting his fellow Marines' remains with a vacuum cleaner.
Destiny_Gundam wrote:Though why didn't Chris get a transformation scene?
It'd be too much AMAZING for one episode if Hibiki's charm point was to be immediately followed up by Chris's ZENBUs.

Seriously, though, Hibiki's transformation scene does get counterbalanced by Chris getting all the special attack title cards, and the omission might also have been done to heighten the impact of, and to contrast with, Maria's Black Gungnir transformation scene later in the episode.

Perhaps we'll get Chris's transformation scene in the same episode as her antagonist counterpart's, much like how we got Hibiki's & Maria's in this episode.

Man, first Majestic Prince and now Symphogear... This season's got some awesome fight scenes.

Most epic Shouryuken ever.

Looks like Hibiki

Re: Senki Zesshou Symphogear

Interesting pair-offs--it seems to be shaping up into Maria vs. Tsubasa, Bikkie vs. twintails, & Chris vs. Dark Magician Girl. Asides from Maria vs. Tsubasa, it's ranged combat vs. melee combat.

At first, I found Chris's dere-dere-ing rather excessive, but on second thought, it seems reasonable given how her emotional growth's been pretty stunted for the past few years.

I also have to wonder if SugitaDoc is working independently of everyone else. He may just have the same data as Maria's group due to involvement with the American project in the past.

Re: Senki Zesshou Symphogear

Man, I'm a little divided right now. On one hand, the fight was great, especially that Swan Song screw punch (with special guest cameo by beast mode Hibiki)! On the other, the pacing this episode was all sorts of wonky. And, its supposed to be a secret that Tsubasa is a Symphogear user? How is that even possible? o_O It's not like they've been taking special care to keep a low profile, or anything! Her transformation doesn't even function as a disguise!

Oh, well, in the end all I really need is cool fights and awesome songs, as long as they keep that up it's all G!

BTW, Miku better watch out, Chris is getting dangerously close to straight-up stealing her wife right from under her nose!
