What Happened to Tobia Arronax? (Crossbone Gundam)

I was looking through the raw for Crossbone Gundam Steel Seven, and at the end

we see Tobia come back from MIA with dark skin and dark hair.
Is there any explanation as to how and why that happened?

He went charging into the exploding Shinbatsu screaming Europa's name, so it's fairly easy to tell that he was both burned and blinded by the light.

but is that just a crazy tan or is his entire body covered with one giant burn scar? Also, why would that change his hair colour? >__>

There's another possible reason.

Tobia's considered a criminal by both the Jovian Empire and the Federation. He probably would want to keep his identity under wraps, so I think it's just for purposes of disguise.

Yeah, but the 'enemy of Jupiter' doesn't make sense anymore... neither Crux Dogatie or Callisto is in charge anymore, and judging by Crossbone Ghost, Tetenith seems to have some sort of pull there now (and did at the end of Steel 7).
