Amazon UK may have it. You'd obviously have to import it and I'm not sure if they'd accept .com gift card but it's an option worth looking into. They're where I got my copy.

Anyone know a good website where I can import the Blu-Rays with those nice slipcovers? I think they're limited edition.

So any word on if episode 5 will still come out with bandai being gone.

Bandai isn't "gone" - just Bandai Visual, their North American distribution branch. The series is still in production in Japan, and all this means is that there probably won't be DVD releases anymore.

Um they why do you think Chris made a thread titled.
"End of the line for Bandai Entertainment" ?
Bandai Visual have been gone for a while and Bandai themselves have mostly withdrawn or closed in alot of things.

Besides Bandai Visual and Bandai Entertainment were seperate.

Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Anime Thread Mk IV

I think if nothing else we may see the PSN/Xbox rentals of new episodes continue.

As for Blu-rays....That is the million dollar question. I'm quite confident we'll see continued streaming options, furthered by the fact that Gundaminfo seem to increasingly be adding English language options for their videos since the BEI announcement. I'd say the Blu-rays have a chance still if only because BEI is simply massively scaled down, not dead and they'd basically made the discs Amazon exclusives. We've seen some pretty big cock ups from Sunrise but I'd like to think they'd at least finish this on Blu-ray with two episodes left to go.

Seeing as they haven't officially announced that they're cancelling Unicorn, I don't think we have anything to worry about. Turn A was cancelled, but it's release wasn't halfway through the series like Unicorn is, or even begun, really. I'm pretty confident that they'll finish the series, since they're almost done at this point.

I truly hope so as Gundam Unicorn has been one of those series that I've been truly keeping an eye on. I had hoped that it would have done better than what it actually did here in the states. Still I hope that the English dubs and Blu-ray releases continue here in the states.

It should be noted that the bluray releases are only different cosmetically; the actual content, including menus and languages and the like, is identical. We effectively get the Japanese release, price included.

Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Anime Thread Mk IV

Well, at least I managed to snag the last of the OYW side-story trifecta from Bandai's store before it died. I was missing 0080, and for a long time couldn't find it anywhere until they had it again. I snapped it up in a hurry.
Reminds me, I still haven't finished rewatching it...need to do that.

But to get back to the topic of Unicorn, I fervently hope that it'll continue to be available to us stateside somehow; But if nothing else since the BDs are identical to the Japanese release, at least I can fall back on that and get it from like amazon Japan or something.
Shipping's gonna be pricier tho :(

Ebay is actually a fantastic way to import the blurays, if they're not available through the usual sites. It's how I got the last couple episodes, as there hasn't been any other way to get them in Canada for a while now (to the best of my knowledge).

Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Anime Thread Mk IV

This is probably a dumb question, but...

Seeing as Unicorn Vol 4 was actually released on December 2nd, but Amazon's NA availability on the title got pushed back until March 8th, will my ability to get Unicorn through them be affected?

Here I am getting very worried that because Amazon always seems to miss the damn train when it comes to getting products in a timely manner, I'm going to have to shell out a bunch for import on that one...

I know I'll have to pay through the nose just for the fifth and sixth volumes, I'm now just wondering if I'm going to have to do the exact same thing for volume four.

With this latest I believe we'll be seeing the return of Kai, And if I remember the novels correctly Marida will pay Banagher back for trashing the Kshatriya.

Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Anime Thread Mk IV

I doubt it; At least from what I've heard from the novels, Kamille does not appear in Unicorn, though I could be wrong - and even if I'm not, the anime may change it, as it's apparently made some pretty big changes already.
ZSS mentions that we might be seeing Kai Shiden again, which would be interesting. I personally did not like Kai at all in MSG, but I thought he was much cooler in his one brief appearance in Zeta, so seeing him again'd be pretty neat. I sort of wonder who else is going to turn up, as the summary on the site mentions "old friends" in the plural.

Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Anime Thread Mk IV

If it's the same as the novel, they'll be mentioned and not appear (thank god). Kai's role is interesting if not somewhat brief in Unicorn. I'm curious as to how they'll have it play out given the changes in the stories.

Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Anime Thread Mk IV

I haven't followed the novels so I'm not really up to speed (I own all the blu ray releases through 4), so forgive me for being ignorant... The battle scenes and mech porn are absolutely top notch. I'm a long time gundam fan for 30 years now (yeah I'm old). But man my tolerance for weepy gundam pilots is at it's end. Does Banagher get any better? Seeing this theme repeated over and over for the past 15+ years in about every series since 08th team is just, trying.

Granted the old shows had their moments too, but in a series so short like UC it just seems dominated by a whiny, weepy emo and it's driving me nuts.
