I watched the second 00 SE at a friend's house last night.

Even though this one only covers half the amount of eps the first one did, it's still pretty crammed...but much less so than the first.

As for new stuff, uhmmm, lemme see what I recall.

*00's maiden launch is mostly new animation. A second GNX is added into the fight. Setsuna basically does the same thing he did in the series but with new animation, and simply shoots the second GNX to pieces before fighting the anti-field grenade-wielding one.

*There's a scene added in on the bridge where Mileina asks Feldt what she thinks of the new Lockon, and Feldt responds with a sad smile, "He's not like Neil." Then Lyle and Setsuna have a brief conversation in the hallway we didn't know enough Japanese to follow. But Lyle mentions Azadistan and Setsuna seems a bit fleeting with information towards him.

*The battle from S2 ep 4 and eps 6-7 over the ocean is combined into one fight. New footage for all four Gundams. Soma's Ahead trashes the Arios a bit more. There's a cool scene of Cherudim surfacing from underwater, then quickly pulling aside as the Ptolemy surfaces right next to it.

A GNX tries to penetrate Seravee's GN Field with its lance. Tieria blows the poor schmuck away at pointblank range.

And Setsuna and Mr. Bushido's fight has a new sequence where Bushido knocks one of 00's swords into the water and then rushes him firing the beam machine guns in its thrusters. They lock blades and Bushido eventually kicks 00 away.

As of result of combining these battles, 00 goes from having his GN Shields mounted on the drives to having them combined as a shield on his arm magically, but whaddaya gonna do.

After the Twin Drive overloads and 00 falls into the water, Cherudim and Seravee rush in to save Setsuna. Bushido draws his second beam saber and bats some beam shots away, almost seeming willing to fight them, but eventually withdraws.

The movie ends with a new scene of Ribbons in his pilot suit, talking to Veda and doing his usual "Innovators are the bestest and we will control ALL the donuts!" spiel.

That's about the most majorest stuff I can remember that was new in terms of animation.

The end credits have some new scenes from the third SE, including aftermath of the final battle. Saji recovering Setsuna from Exia, and the injured Lyle and Allelujah being tended to.

Also looks like Seravee's going to get a more extended final hurrah, as there's a quick clip of Revive pulling off a "Gadessa Finger" on the heavy weapons-configured Seravee.

The merged of episode 4 with 6-7 battle surprised me.Did the Tieria slap still there??

Anyway there's some info from 00 new year festival, from kouryakukan blog. Here you go,translated from 19.04
Spoiler: show
Advance tickets came with a postcard/postcards.
The Meisters each had a line printed on it/them:

Setsuna: “I really don’t understand it.”
Lockon: “Sorry, your fun holiday is over.”
Al: “It’s alright, sometimes it’s not bad to drop in in the middle.”
Tieria: “I’ve decided to walk alongside humanity.”

New images and information from the event:
– New characters and new MS debuted. {note: could be singular} An Innovedo appeared as one of Kati’s subordinates?
– There was/It had the line “Even though you’re/I’m an Innovedo”
– There was the line “Start the attack with electric? missiles.”
– Graham was piloting a new, blue {could be green} MS.
– Graham stands at the/a door while visiting Ptolemy. Feldt sees him from nearby {how long until this turns into Graham x Feldt shipper fodder?}.
* Feldt has a short [hair] cut.
– 00 Quanta’s blueprint was sent over from Level 7 in Veda by Tieria. Along with information about a new twin drive system.
– Millena is wearing a white headband with loose wavy hair.
– Souma has her hair back in a braid.
– Al’s hair goes down to his back and is tied back behind his head.
– Wearing a light blue pilot suit, a character takes off his helmet and he looks just like Tieria.
This character is visiting Ptolemy.
– A female character who resembles Nena a lot, with long hair, appears (a new character?)

Everyone's changing their hair, Graham's poppin' by Ptolemy to say Hello (WTF mate??!!!), New Twin Drive(BOOYAH!), Nena 2.0, and more Innovades...this is gonna be interesting.

Lil' more detailed stuff for the new trailer yet to appear.

Quote:
At the start, a silver-haired person who appears to be a new male character appears. His hair is chin-length and is parted in the middle. His eyes are like Chinese [literally: his eyes are slits] and because it glowed gold, it appears he’s an Innovade.
This character was in a scene with Kati.
Also, there is a sortie scene. [He] was wearing a red pilot suit.

There is a scene with Allelujah and Marie together in Ptolemy. At this time, Allelujah’s hair is long and tied with one knot at the back.

Mileina’s hair is curly and let down, she has a white hair band and it’s a hairstyle that shows her forehead [I guess this means no bangs].

Feldt’s hair is like Luna Maria’s short hair. At the same scene, because there was Graham wearing a Union type pilot suit, it seems that Graham is in Ptolemy.

There is a scene where a character that appears to be Tieria [wary audience is wary!] (hair and face are the same as Tieria’s, however the pilot suit is light blue) came inside the Ptolemy bridge’s briefing room, and unfastened his helmet.

Lyle says “Setsuna!”, and Allelujah and the others say “What’s happening!”, after Setsuna’s moaning is heard. While these were being said, Setsuna, who is riding inside the cockpit, sorties. At the cockpit’s monitor a blue sign appeared that said “Operating Method [術式] (?)”, but my prediction is that this “Operating Method” might be related to Setsuna’s anguished tone.

Saji’s hair looks feathery [erm, “disheveled” I think?], the style appears to be quite good looking (haha). After this is Louise with long hair lying on a bed.

A black haired female character (a new character?) whose hair at the back is about waist-length appears. After this, Billy also appears.

A light blue Flag did the Graham Special in outer space. Because of this, it appears that this new model light blue Flag is likely the machine that Graham rides.

After Setsuna sorties saying “00 Quanta, coming out”, with a painful “Aaaaaaargh!!!” shout, the screen projection ends.

Nope, because all of Saji's subplot involving guilt over Katharon is gone.

Thanks for the S2 SE and Movie updates. Regarding S2 Special Edition...

Is Episode 3 largely intact (rescuing Allelujah with the Ptolomy ocean wave attack)? What about episodes 8 and 9 (the ballroom scene that then leads into the fight with Ali)? I assume that episode 1, with Setsuna doing his Solid Snake impression and then fighting with cloaked Exia is there? Finally, is the 1st Momento Mori battle intact?

The Katharon B-story was taken out and a chunk of the dialog.

I'll get back to you on that.

It's mostly intact. They cut out a bit of the filler from that episode and got to the point.

Yeah, mostly. Horrible choice of music on the "trench" run though.

Yeah, most of the rearranged music didn't work so well, certainly not better than the original arrangements.

Arios' debut in particular. Instead of that rousing triumphant music from the series (also played in 00's original debut), they absurdly put some "Bad stuff is happening!" music on it.

Other scenes like the 00-Raiser's first form-up and the Arche Gundam's first fight had different music that fit, but clearly were inferior choices to the original scenes.

And yeah, they play the first ending theme (Uh, "Wana", was it?) during Celestial Being's trench run on the Memento Mori...doesn't work all that well.

The third opening, however, works pretty well with 00 Gundam's debut.

Also, Seravee's debut has the track "Trans-Am Raiser" playing, which seemed to make the scene much more overblown than it was (Seravee blocking a beam saber hit and then cutting a single GNX to pieces doesn't really warrant some of the most epic music in the series, does it?)

As for eps 8 and 9, the important plot-moving stuff was all there...except for Setsuna's meeting with Louise.

Yeah, the Setsuna B-story of the episode was taken out and only Tiera's remained.

GUNDAM 00 MOVIE UPDATE:

Just in case no one's posted this news, it's being reported that UVERworld will perform the new 00 movie's theme song, which will come out in Fall 2010. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2010-01-06/barks/gundam-00-film-to-open-in-fall-of-2010

...I thought it was discussed around here that it'd probably be Spring 2010? (Maybe they don't want to compete with Unicorn?)

Anyway, thanks for the SEII info. I think I would have liked to see the Louise/Setsuna scene in there, but them's the breaks.

Sunrise has never given a release window beyond a vague "2010." If anyone here was saying it would be spring, then frankly, they were pulling it out of their ass.

UVERworld, huh? Well, they performed Hakanaku mo Towa no Kanashi for 00 S2, which was a great song(though not on the level of awesomeness of Daybreak's Bell), on top of performing my personal second favorite theme for Bleach.(D-technolife is a great song, though Ichirin no Hana will always be my fave)

So whatever this is and whenever it is, it's probably gonna be good.

Feldt reminds me too much of Lunamaria Hawke now.

Not to much a bad thing but I'd think the design could lose a few similarities.

Otherwise things are picking up.
