Maybe you're just being sarcastic there and I'm not picking up on it, but Destiny was obviously sarcastic. Yeah, I'm seeing way too much hate on Mikono over this on various forums. We're not talking about Romary in Gundam AGE who defended Zehart, who is actually the enemy with clear-cut reasons for fighting the good guys and not just being fooled, from Asem. Zehart made it clear he's fighting the Federation for his own good reasons, while Kagura showed he's not such a bad guy. And as Destiny said, Kagura was down and beat. Killing him then and there would have been a mere execution. I really hope this doesn't trigger a fanwar across the Internet a la Sheryl fans vs. Ranka fans. I was really liking how the fans of Mikono and Zessica were managing to keep it civil.

Well, if nothing else, you can take solace in the fact that in my case, this episode actually managed to improve my opinion of Mikono a great deal.

At any rate, Zessica was pretty worthless this episode. Being a little happy that Mikono is supposedly destined to be with another guy is one thing, but just standing around watching while the guy you like is getting the crap kicked out of him? What the hell? You have psychic powers! Use them! Oh, and I finally figured out the parallel to Mikono and Kagura in this episode: King Kong.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is the trigger that actually gets the love triangle started. Until now Zessica has pretty much not gotten much of anything done, but I would bet this incident with Mikono protecting Kagura creates a rift between her and Amata and kicks off the beginning of Zessica actually making some progress with Amata.

Well it's official now. Aquarion EVOL is in fact connected to the original TV series, and not just some different alternate universe thing.

Destiny_Gundam wrote: Like there was ever any doubt. Actually, there was quite a bit of doubt going around. (just not much of it on these forums) Lots of people were theorizing that maybe EVOL wasn't a "sequel" of the original TV series, but of some other alternate universe of Aquarion.

Eh, this is anime, they could still squeeze in an alternate universe as part of the history of this show.
Nice episode even though it was just a mock battle, sad we didn't get to see how some of the other main character's element abilities evolved within a Aquarion after training from the grave.

-Aquarion vs. Aquarion -More mugen punching -Not one but two element powers get revealed -Referencing the original series -FINALLY correcting "Sylvie and Apollon" with Silvia and Apollo -Zessica not being bland -Gepard proving itself as manly as it's predecessor -Amata trying to appeal a cat to get a "cat". Sorry, I couldn't resist. And after 12,000 years the jelly wars begin according to a certain imageboard; that said are we picking grapes, strawberries, or marmalade? Also the next episode has Cherubim Lune returning! Yippy skippy!

I'm glad they're going in the opposite direction this time and fighting fate rather than fulfilling it. and Love was declared in an Aquarion so where was trollkage? guess he didn't care since it revealed the location of the Original Aquarion sort of? and YES Sazanka action FINALLY

My God. Zessica confessed so hard, she broke the time-space continuum! You GO, girl! So now it's confirmed that Silvie + Apollo =/= Sylphie + Apollon. Which I kinda suspected to begin with, but, there you go. Still not sure as to what this will mean in the coming episodes, but I suppose we'll find out soon enough! AND HOW ABOUT THAT PREVIEW? Swimsuits AND Cherubim soldiers? My body will never be ready.

Okay, I figured it would be difficult (to say the least) to outdo episode 13, but with our most recent episode (episode 16) has done so amazingly. "Confessions from the Soul" has now dethroned "the Fallen Giant" as my favorite episode of Aquarion EVOL.
Alright then, high points, like I stated last post: 2 Aquarions! And now they're fighting each other! I liked the Amata vs. Cayenne air that this ep. kind of had. Speaking of Aquarions, finally being able to see Classic Aquarion through the window of EVOL was really nice, especially hearing the commentary from the EVOL crew including: pointing out how animal-like Apollo's nature is, comparison between Apollo and Kagura, comparison between Mykage and Touma, the reaction to seeing Fudo in the past, the revelation of Apollo and Silvia vs. Apollon and Silvie, the unveiling of Malloy and whats-her-face's power and Andy accusing Malloy of stealing his schtick (did I spell it right?), also Zessica admitting her love for Amata like that kind of reminded me of Kaoru from Gatekeepers, except for the getting rejected part. (lastly:"that Aquarion looks different from our Aquarion!")
The new opener! Man, I didn't know how Kanno would top that first opener, but I guess its to be expected from her, this is one of my new favorite openings. My only downsides, however, are the new ending theme and the fact that Mikono is starting to irritate me a little.
Now, then, in closing, I would like to offer and explanation (beyond "power of love, deal with it") for the cross dimensional Mugen punch worked and could not be predicted by "Prophecy of Despair" here goes: Prophecy of Despair sees into the future, CDMP went back in time (12,000 years, though that seemed more like a ride than actual time travel) then came back to the present therefore never even touching the future and thus unpredictable.
Lastly, since Amata now knows about Apollo, does anyone think he will ever know about Apollonius? I mean there had to be an Apollonius knockoff in "Skies of Aquaria" right? (well, Apollon kinda looked it...)

I have to wonder how Cayenne could be able to have angst at the level of Shinn from SEED Destiny yet seem to be energetic like Eiji from Gravion. *looks up cast out of boredom* Holy f**k he's both of them. And no wonder he's in this series, he's also Shin from Macross Zero. And it seems Shinn and Lunamaria were the best CE couple after all, possibly the best Gundam couple ever. Alright, random voice actor cast info 'cause apparently Kawamori hired some mecha stars for this series some folks might not of have noticed! That and I have nothing better to do until The Daily Show comes on. Not counting minor roles. -Amata: Previously Liu Bei (aka good old Gundam Mark 1) from SD Gundam Brave Battle Warriors. -Mikono: Currently Muginami from Lagrange: The Flower of Rin-ne. -Zessica: Currently fracking Romary from Gundam Age. (boo) -Shrade: Previously Alfred from Gundam 0080, Leonard from Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid, Michael from Gundam 00, and Boris from Gunpla Builders. Also some voice acting from SD Gundam Superior Defense Force, but I know nothing about it. Also Lucario from Pokemon/SSBB. -MIX: Previously (and currently) Mineva Zabi from Unicorn Gundam. -Sazanka: Previously Ranka Lee from Macross Frontier (boo). -Donar: Previously Sting Oakley from Gundam SEED Destiny. -Suomi: Previously Sara Nome from Macross Zero and Reika from the first series. Also a couple of unmentionables (boo). -Zen: Previously Irivine from Zoids Chaotic Century/Guardian Force, Jack Cisco from Zoids: New Century Zero, Kashimaru from Overman King Gainer (owe my head), and Ali from Gundam 00. -Izumo: Previous Kan-u (aka Zeta Gundam) from SD Gundam Brave Battle Warriors and Aim Liard from Super Robot Wars Z2. -Kagura: Previously (and currently) Banahger Links from Gundam Unicorn. -Mykage: Previously Graham Acker from Gundam 00 and Reiji from Linebarrels of Iron. That doesn't explain why he acts so fruity- Wait, there's a third here....... And he also voiced Dr. Saotome's lost daughter. Alright, there's trivia, now to wonder if a gundam can defeat a gundam pilot for the sake of an alien broad! (and the loser gets Romary) Quote: and the fact that Mikono is starting to irritate me a little. I'm very easily annoyed with anime characters and yet I don't see why everyone has a grudge on her.

They want Zessica to come out on top so they come down hard on Mikono. Mikono's continually grown strong as a character while Zessica went from fun and outgoing to shy and pole-twisting jealous. Hopefully after the events of this episode Zessica will be more proactive, though she has a long way to go to catch up to Mikono.
