Gundam Crisis - new mecha!

Post by asterphage » Mon Jun 25, 2007 3:29 pm

This press release for the new Gundam Crisis theme park attraction shows us a pair of "Guest Mecha" designed by Hajime Katoki.

A green RB-79K with its guns replaced with some kind of heavy duty claw arm:

A MSN-01 in the same color scheme as the EFF-captured MS-07H:

The PDF talks about Sunrise producing this new material with accuracy to the original... they use the phrase "Correct history of Gundam" a lot. I think it's safe to say that these designs are further entries in the "Harmony of Gundam" project. I'm hoping they eventually become HGUCs.

There's a slightly clearer image of these on the site now:

The caption is something like "Who is piloting them? What are they for?"

August's issue of Hobby Japan gives us names for these mecha; the MSN-01 recolor is just called "High Mobility Test Type Zaku", oddly without any mention of psycommu, and the Ball variation is just called a "Ball Work Type".

...am I the only one who even noticed these mecha? :D

asterphage, why don't you just make your own contribution thread like I did as did mark064 to make things easier?

I don't really see the advantage to organizing by the person who posts the image, which is a relatively arbitrary distinction, instead of by the actual subject matter they apply to, which is a meaningful factor related to the content of the images.

For the occasional contributor it doesn't make much sense, but for a frequent contributor like yourself, it makes things easier for me to find in just one place. And since most of your contributions are Gundam related, it's not like they don't belong together.
"What did catch my eye, however, was a podcast named Gundamn!. At first I thought it was a podcast about firearms and [rednecks] discussing their collection, but after looking at the episode titles I was sold." - Xhavalor
