The article talks about how the market for Gundam/.etc model kits with men is more or less completely stagnant, so manufacturers have begun to shift their marketing focus to women.

An excerpt from the article:

"Chiyo, 29, became hooked on making plastic models in the summer of 2008, her interest piqued after watching a Gundam DVD at home. She decided to make a model of the popular character and purchased a kit at an electronics retail store."

The artical also has the interview with Nathon Fillion where he mentioned that if he could he'd by the rights to the show which has misinterprated by fans and has sparked the rabid fandom to start fundraisrs so Nathan Fillion can buy the rights. Fillion has stated that he dose not wish to buy the rights to the series and will donate any money he receves to charity.
