Warner offers Brad Pitt All You Need Is Kill film

Brad Pitt has approached to star in a film based on Hiroshi Sakurazaka's novel, the fact it's being directed by Doug Liman of the Bourne film trilogy gives some hope it won't completely suck. Though the main character in the book is supposed to be 18 years old at the beginning and Brad's pushing 40I wonder how that will work.

Gundam UC Voice Actor for Bright Noa Revealed

The official Twitter account for the Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn video anime series announced on Saturday that voice actor Ken Narita will assume the role of Bright Noa in the anime. Bandai Visual held a Saturday screening and live event for the fourth Gundam UC episode, which marked the first anime appearance of Bright Noa in 23 years. Hirotaka Suzuoki, the original voice of the character, passed away in 2006.

Bandai Namco Games released Gundam Area Wars, an augmented-reality online game based on the Gundam robot anime franchise, as a Japanese app for the Apple iPhone and iPad devices on Friday. In this simulation game, a player carries out missions to defeat enemy mobile suits and take over their bases — and thus upgrade and expand his or her own forces.

Hey guys, long time listener, first time poster.

Just figured I'd let you know that those of us down under will finally be getting the original Mobile Suit Gundam (albiet in it's TV form) starting from next month.

I realise DVD releases are not really your thing, but as a massive fan of the series I'm glad that a local release of the series is happening finally.

Gundam AGE will be streaming in 5 languages, including english subtitled, and Sunrise's Gundam.info site will stream it for free, for a month.

-Though it appears it's not available for streaming in the US, it states it's limited but doesn't specify to where, that I can see anyways.

From Erotic Games to Murder Charges

In 1999, a thirty-one year-old voice actress under the name Suzuka Yuna voice one of the lead characters in Japanese erotic computer game Triangle Heart 2.

In 2000, she voiced the sequel, and during the following decade, she launched a reasonably successful voice acting career. But by summer 2011, she was arrested for murder.

Yuna, who's real name is Suzuka Suzuike, did bit work in anime like Turn A Gundam, and also provided the voice for countless television ads, providing narration for an array of TV spots, such as Capcom, NEC, and Kirin.

And to end things on a happier note it looks like Harmony Golddiggers is finally being told to shut up.

After a good few years of, well, nothing about the much anticipated MechWarrior reboot (courtesy of Piranha Games) it appears that the game hasn’t died after all. From the somewhat oddly emphatic tweet from Bryan Ekman that there has been “no legal battle” over the usage of the Unseen designs to the slightly cringe-worthy viral twitter feed for the game itself. Either way, we’re just happy the game is still being made and that maybe one day we’ll get to play it.

For those who don't know the "Unseen" are Macross designs that FASA purchaced the right to use from Studio Nue to use in their popular Battlech universe. These designs were the point of an ownership lawsuit in the 1990s by Harmony Gold against FASA and Microsoft Games for their use in the early Mechwarrior games. And after a trailer in 2009 for the new Mechwarrior game featured a mech useing the design of the Destroid Tomahawk
was seen prompting Harmony Gold to send a Cease and Desist Order to the game's developers.

Macross Frontier Best Movie, Tiger & Bunny Best Mecha Design, in Newtype 2011 Anime Award

Macross Frontier: Sayonara no Tsubasa won as Best Movie in Newtype Magazine's yearly Anime Awards. Kenji Andou won the Best Mecha Design Award for his work in Tiger & Bunny.

Mecha designer participating in autograph session, focus panel at L.A. event

Animator Tsuyoshi Nonaka will appear as the Mecha Designer Guest of Honor at the 2011 Pacific Media Expo, which runs November 11 - 13 at the Hilton Los Angeles Airport. Nonaka served as mechanical designer for the mecha television anime Shin Mazinger Shōgeki! Z-Hen and D.I.C.E. and the OAV (original animation video) Mazinkaizer SKL. In his first appearance at the California convention, Nonaka will participate in an autograph session and focus panel.
