Michael merely sat silent during the entire conversation, carefully listening to every word said by all present. His face emitted a small, curved smile that spoke volumes. His mind began repeating a phrase that Michael had held dear for many a year.

'People should not fear their governments...governments should fear the people'.

It was obvious to the Coordinator, remaining stoic save for his smile, that ATLAS knew this lesson well. The capture of McCrowan made that obvious to him...and they wanted the PLANT government to fear them.

Oh my, another one of those soldiers who "want to do the right thing," Carrah thinks, referring to the new guy who thinks he has big ideas and to argue the superior officers of what we should do.

"Another candidate for 'most likely to die trying to be a hero'," Carrah mutters enough to be heard only by the other pilots sitting next to her, Is this guy in my team? It seems as if Carrah was less focused about the profiles and goals of the enemies, and more towards her own personal achievements and (hopefully not too much) potential screwups. Besides, she already made up her mind that they're the bad guys, and thus needed to be beaten to submission.

Hector chuckled a bit. "Sorry didn't mean to laugh, you shouldn't complain or feel afraid of death its what you sign up for, when you signed the papers" said Hector shrugging.

"People die its the reason we are soldiers, but I don't know about you guys, military is my career choice, and dying I am not afraid of" said Hector going back to his porn. "Deaths are inevitable someone will die sooner or later on this mission" was Hector final words before he let out a slight giggle.

Josh merely sat silently during the briefing, his questions and concerns all answered. So they were fighting a bunch of crazed Natural supremecists seemingly using another ridiculous acronym for a name. And he thought ZAFT was already bad enough...

As everyone began talking, he gave a sidewards glance towards his teammates on the Helga. Their reactions seemed fairly mixed, if not odd. Michael's got a tiny smirk forming around his mouth, Carrah's emitting a sense of frustration through her pretty face, and Hector was being Hector. Nothing out of the ordinary.

"Ma'am, with slight curiousness, I'd like to know just how well supplied we'll be for this mission," Josh finally spoke, addressing the Commander with what he thought was a legit question. "Considering our sudden reassignment into a sort of 'special forces' corp, are we to expect any change in operation style and supplies used when carrying out this mission?"

At least Hector had an inkling of truth in his talk of being prepared to face death as a soldier.

Josh Kidden actually had a question to contribute, to which Shema replied, "The Council has limited our operational autonomy for this task. Our equipment is unchanged. I expect all of you to make up for that with actual professionalism. Given our performance on Luna, we have work to do if any of you want to survive."

From there, a map of the Debris Belt opened at the head of the room.

"Analysis of the terrorists' footage, matched with reconaissance from Fonori Squadron's LRRP unit, indicates ATLAS' last known position in the Logo Tau sector of the Debris Belt. Command has us entering upper PLANTside and awaiting further orders if we do not encounter ATLAS.

"When we do encounter the terrorists, we will annihilate them. Teams 3, 4, and 5 will be at the front of the formation and will concentrate on their warships to prevent escape. Teams 1, 2, and 6 will follow as a reaction force and to occupy their mobile suits. You will eliminate all of them swiftly, and fight with more coordination than a mob of apes."

"Quick question," chimed in Prelo Huriel, Team 5's leader, "Are we supposed to rescue that doctor or what?"

"Dr. McCrowan is expendable. Our only objective is the complete annihilation of the ATLAS terror group.

"Unless any of you have more insipid questions, you're dismissed. Jack and Wayne will speak to me before departure."

Rob had stayed seated throughout the briefing. He hadn't been to happy to see Ed, he still felt shame over his reaction and subsequent actions. He had listened to half an ear to what the other pilots said, not caring nor recognizing most.

He now rose at Shema's dismissal, but instead of leaving he cleared his throat and asked a question he knew had to be on the minds of some of the other pilots.

"Sir, and if we run into another EA force. What then? Are we allowed to engage and destroy, or do we let them get in our way again?"

"Mam," Michael said to Shema in an obviously derogatory fashion before giving a crisp salute and walking out of the briefing room. Now it was back to the Helga and back to his room, where Michael would begin writing his Last Will and Testament.

Although his life will probably have been brief should things go wrong, Michael knew he'd accomplished many things for queen and country.

His walk back to the Cynthia's hangar was quiet and brief, waiting outside the small shuttle launch for his fellow pilots from the Helga, Michael began whistling a tune he'd picked up during the war.
"That's the problem with plutonium, Craven; it's limited in its application. It's not user-friendly. But as a vehicle for regaining one's self-respect; oh, it's got a lot going for it!"

"Ahhh kill em all then Ma'am? thats our cold blood Shema for you... she leaves nothing for Vultures" joked Hector saluting and running out before anything that can harm him, harms him.

He caught up to Michael and sat in the shuttle quietly. 'Man this mission blows, at least I get a good read before I die hehe, hmmm memo to self tell Michael thats a cool catchy tune...' he joked to himself.

"Jack and Wayne, speak to me before departure" the Commander said before dismissing the remaining pilots. Great, here I am about to get chewed for not reporting to her the second I was aboard ship when she was too busy to see me Jack fumed as he went up to her, snapped a crisp salute, and said "Ma'am, Flight Lieutenant Harrington reporting as ordered."

To Rob's question, Shema said, "We are to avoid combat with all non-ZAFT units when possible. If we can positively identify another unit as true OMNI and not terrorists masquerading as them, then we're to leave them. Any unit that fires at us is to be assumed ATLAS and eliminated with extreme prejudice.

OOC: Okay, for here I'm assuming all pilots except Jack and Wayne have departed. If there are any other questions your characters want to ask Shema, I'll RP the answer as though it's said before the events taking place after everyone else's departure.

IC:

Wayne brought up his own salute right next to the shortish Red.

Shema wasted no time with the newcomers. "You didn't report to me or Captain Brant upon boading this ship, Jack."

"Commander, I went looking for both you and the Captain the second I was aboard. You were both occupied when I reached your respective offices, and by all indications were going to remain so for some time. I apologize for not seeing you before this brief, but I just got my orders about six hours ago for this command. Seven hours ago, I was touching down in the hangar from flying a ten hour escort mission for my old ship while the Heisenberg was pulling into port. I was yanked into this apparently all-volunteer job without being told what or why." Jack said, the strain of getting about four hours of sleep in the last thirty-six showing. "I didn't ask to be here, I was pulled straight out of my old unit. I respectfully request an explanation as to why, ma'am." Jack finished, knowing he was dangerously close to insubordination, but too tired to care.

"If I was indisposed," Shema ignored Jack's question at first, "Then you wait. I will not have any more lapses in professionalism from you.

"As for your explanation; you won't receive any. I had no hand in selecting replacements, but if you have a problem then you can stay in the brig for the duration of this mission."

"Sounds like someone in Command doesn't like you," Wayne said with a smirk and a slight nudge to Jack's right upper arm.

"Enough." Shema didn't truly raise her voice, yet she packed a certain thunderous force to the word that caused Wayne, whom she'd addressed, to freeze in his tracks.

"More of the same, then. Both dismissed."

"With all due respect Commander, not good enough. When I saw you were indisposed, I elected to go and do work that needed doing, not sit around with my thumb up my ass wasting time while I waited for you to be ready for me. Sorry I put preparing for an unknown mission and trying to get acquainted with my people and equipment before gladhanding my new CO. I'll be sure next time to let sitting around doing nothing and waiting for you take priority over doing my job." Jack said, furious at the bitch for calling him unprofessional. "And seeing as how its my ass in the fire out there along with those of my men, I think I deserve a bit of an explanation, or did you miss the phrase 'Keep your people informed' at the Fleet Academy?"

"Dismissed." Shema repeated without inflection, tucking a small stack of paper files under her arm, "When you have any valid questions, direct them to Captain Brant."

Shema then propelled herself to the door with only the slightest push of the ball of her foot.

Wayne, meanwhile, wasn't sure if he should be glad or disappointed that he wouldn't be on the same ship as an immovable bitch and an irritable hothead. Nevertheless, she said they were dismissed, so he departed in the opposite direction. If that Jack guy wanted to continue picking a fight, Wayne didn't want to be around for it this time.

The other Helga pilots better not have left the Cynthia yet, he thought as he traversed the corridors to the shuttle bay, or he'd fill their ears.

- Shuttle Bay -

Wayne pulled himself through the last hatch and into the shuttle bay. He smirked when he saw a shuttle with Helga markings. So they'd had enough sense not to try leaving him behind. What a missed opportunity for a good prank.

The shuttle's own hatch still gaped, so Wayne poked his head in and saw the other five pilots waiting inside. Wayne quickly stepped in and took a seat between the cute one (a Red, whereas the other Red was a man, so by process of elimination this chick was his team leader) and a blue-haired muscular guy. Wayne wasted no time leaning back, resting his right ankle on his left knee, locking his fingers behind his head, and, with a wide grin, asked aloud, "So who's written their will?"

Michael was resting comfortably in his chair when Wayne showed up, sitting himself in-between Carrah and himself. The man seemed like a great big source of annoyance as he jokingly asked whether or not anyone had written a will yet.

Sneering at the comment, Michael said with a strong distaste in his voice, "Say something useful for once, FNG."

The new guy on board the ship, Wayne, sits himself between Carrah and Michael. What he said wouldn't exactly leave a good taste. Naturally, Michael would be pissed, and Carrah, well, she was already slightly irritated at the sight of the new guy to begin with. But that wouldn't help the chemistry of the team if they don't like each other while going on a top-secret, high profile mission.

"Ahem." Carrah stands up and attempts to diffuse the situation, "I don't believe I have formally introduced myself, Carrah Corker, ♥" she says as she reaches out her hand and a smile.

Hector was in a corner currently listening to music and playing a fighting game while moving his body to the beat of his music that could be heard through the headphones. He threw a few gang signs up from his younger days before he straighten up and joined the military. His head phones dropped hearing the new guy question.

"Will ehh, easy don't recover my remains and dump my sh*t out to space, ain't like their is anyone to receive it or waiting for me back home, also make jokes and laugh about me" said Hector in a bored tone.

'Also annoying people is my job... I am going to have to prank that bastard to no tomorrow, but seeing Michael angry and Carrah annoyed amused him slightly. Still listening to music he popped his porn out and was reading a little bit loudly.

Edgle 'Ed' Glendrin

Ed trembled slightly as Granzi passed him by he saluted quickly and sloppily and quickly vanished only to return just in time to catch Jack Harrington.

"Mr Harrington!" Ed blurted out as he passed by.

"Hi, i'm Edgle Glendrin, Ed! I'm in your in the same flight as me!" he said pretty cheerfully and clumsily extending his hand.

"Just Jack, Ed. Nice to meet you." Jack said, taking his pilot's hand. "Is Commander Granzi always that uptight?" he asked the kid, noting the clumsiness with his hands and hoping it didn't carry into the cockpit.

Ed rubbed the back of his sheepishly grinning. "You're lucky to be coming out of there alive!"

Ed suddenly froze and glanced behind him to make sure Shema didn't hear him say that. Luckily she was nowhere in sight.

"You should come with me! I can introduce you to Robert, he's the other member of our team."
