The windy city was living up to its name this cold December afternoon. The wind had a bit of life to it as it howled slightly through Chicago's streets.
This controversial match will be taking place in a controversial arena. In a prior match a large crater was created smack dab in the middle of the city. Eager to cut down on damages the Gundam Fight committee decide it would be the perfect spot for a match. The crater's ground was smooth and hard, and was roughly 2 and a half square miles. It would be a perfect venue for this hotly contested match.
The crowd was rather large. Mostly made up of Americans, due to how sudden this match had been arranged, but that didn't stop the Italian American's and British American's from picking favorites.
Aboard his whimsical yellow helicopter, the announcer begun to introduce the fighters.
"Well well well well Ladies and Gentlemen! Children of all ages! We have a special match for you this afternoon! All the way from Italy we have Giovanni Ambrogio Pietro Valerio and the Volta Gundam!!"
The crowd erupted in cheers, again the Italian American's leading the cheer. Most the crowd was actually impartial, they where just hoping for an entertaining match.
"And his opponent....from the foggy shores of England the talented the lovely the wonderful Adrianne Hunt and the Hawker Gundam!!"
The cheers where a bit louder then Neo Italy's cheers. Was there more Brits in the crowd? Who knows...
"Alright everybody please calm down for just a second let's get this match started! Gundam fighters! Signal your readiness!!"

Adrianne was rushing back to her mobile fighter, as she was summoned by the committee for her first Finals match.
Robert says, "I am very sorry dear, I promise---"
"No, that's ok, really!" Adrianne cut his father off. He didn't make it to breakfast, but right now Adrianne just wants to focus on the fight.
After rolling into what seemingly a destroyed Chicago skyline. Her father reminds him of what to watch out for. "It has very high defense, but limited long range attacks. Use that to your advantage."
She looks at the referee, signaling her readiness. She enters the battlefield with: 3 beam arrows, 3 heat seeking arrows, 15 explosive arrows and 15 piercing arrows (AFPSDS)

Giovanni surveyed the battlefield through his Gundam's eyes. Truth be told, Giovanni had already surveyed the arena countless times, he was just trying to pass the time waiting for the Neo-England team to arrive.
Amazingly, Giovanni had arrived much earlier than even his superiors had anticipated. The fervor of the Neo-Italian people over their Gundam Fighter's re-entry to the Gundam Fight was woefully underestimated. When the people began to phone in their support non-stop, the Neo-Italian Prime Minister ordered a non-stop flight for Giovanni and the Volta Gundam to the arena. The pilot, an avid fan of the Gundam Fights, took this order to heart and managed to speed his way to America, probably breaking the sound barrier on more than one occasion. Giovanni would successfuly be airdropped into the arena, hours ahead of shedule.
After many hours of waiting, a small beep alerted his attention to his left side, where his sensors had picked up the arriving Neo-England Team. Thankful for the break in monotony, Giovanni turned to face his opponent. He respectfully saluted the opposing Gundam, stood at ease, then settled into a combat stance.
"Sono aspetto. I am ready."

Adrianne quickly grabs an explosive arrow in one of her quivers, and in a rapid shot fires it at the Volta Gundam's knees. It's going to go kaboom either way due to Adrianne's low aim, that even if the enemy manages to dodge it, it's still going to destroy something close behind the Volta Gundam.
Right after the attack, she grabs a piercing arrow, but hides in one of the intact skyscrapers.

Although the Volta Gundam was a big target, it was still nimble enough to dodge. The Volta stepped to the side and watched the arrow fly past it, only to explode rather harmlessly against the flat ground. The Volta's thick armor could, and did, easily take the shrapnel, the only damage being a few small pockmarks to the legs.
The Volta started to walk towords the Hawker, when it suddenly burst into a full out run. Drawing it's sub machinegun, the Volta fired a few quick rounds before begining a jinking maneuver that would hopefully throw off his opponents aim.

Seeing the Volta effortlessly evade the arrow, it was time for Adrianne to widen the gap again. Her sensors warning her that the Volta is coming around her corner, she runs further away zigzaging. She couldv'e sworn the opponent was firing at her back, but it doesn't matter---she's not feeling the sting(s).
One she was ahead of the corner, she sets her bow and arrow up. Once a part of the Volta comes around that corner, it's easy pickings for the piercing arrow. Adrianne calculated with the piercing arrow's very high impact velocity, as well as Volta's borderline unhealthy inertia, that it wouldn't be able to dodge as easily as the last time. Plus, she can still fire through a building if the Volta did in fact react in time to hide back around the corner.
"Here, faty fatty fatty..." Adrianne chimes, in an aiming position.

"Typical sniper. Overconfident to a fault." Giovanni said quietly.
One would think that, when faced with a sniper, they should take to cover immediatly and try to flank. Clearly this is the logical thing to do. However, there is one other option, one that many are too afraid or too inept to pull off. Giovanni was not such a person.
Changing his direction slightly, Giovanni increased the speed of the Volta, aided using it's thrusters. Lowering a shoulder and drawing a beam saber, the Volta charged headlong towords the building that the Hawker was hiding behind. A few seconds before impact, the Volta jumped and smashed into the building, thrusting the arm holding the beam saber forwards, through the building and at the Hawker. Dust and debris flew everywhere.
As an added bonus, the weight of the Volta Gundam caused the building to shift, crumple, and then fall in the direction of the Hawker. The Hawker would need to move quickly if it didn't want the entire building crashing down on top of it's head.

Judging by the skyscraper's (in)stability, it was no longer a safe place to be around.

One of the arrows was vaporized upon impact with the outstretched beam saber, while the other pierced through a hollow part of the shoulder. No lasting damage, but it was an annoyance, to be sure. Giovanni let out a small grunt, but that was all he would acknowledge of the shoulder injury. He pushed the pain out of his mind. That was the good thing about AP rounds: no stopping power.
He flicked the beam saber off and put it into it's recharge rack. Even though his enemy has better sensors than he did, he still felt uneasy about carrying a glowing pink saber that would probably give him away even through the thick fog of smoke and dust. He drew out the beam shotgun and aimed it down the street, where he thought he had seen the Archer last. The Volta began to walk, crouching low behind buildings, waiting for his sensors to pick something up.
He flicked the beam saber off and put it into it's recharge rack. Even though his enemy has better sensors than he did, he still felt uneasy about carrying a glowing pink saber that would probably give him away even through the thick fog of smoke and dust. He drew out the beam shotgun and aimed it down the street, where he thought he had seen the Archer last. Hmm. Looks like I am going to have to pump some more lead and explosives to Boyardee here... But who says I can't have some fun with it! Adrianne thinks.

OOC: I'm assuming the heat seeking arrows are explosive. If they are not, I'll edit my post.
IC: Giovanni felt exposed and he didn't like it. It was too dark for him to make out anything and he was dealing with a sniper. Things were looking grim. As if to confirm that sentiment, warning alarms rang out.
An arrow flew towords him, that much he could see on his sensors. No problem, he thought, the distance is enough for me to dodge. He jinked to the left and noticed that when he did so, the arrow changed its trajectory. This was not good. Heat seeker.
The Volta gundam started to move. More accurately, it started to run. "Odd," said Giovanni, "they seem to have been launched around street level." Suddenly, he had an idea. He began to run faster, when a second arrow appeared, then a third. "The more the merrier."
The arrows followed him as he ran, gaining on him with every passing second. When they got close enough, the Volta threw itself to the side and began weaving between buildings. The first arrow, unable to turn fast enough, impacted on the side of a partially destroyed building and exploded. The second arrow, drawn to the heat of the massive explosion, also hit the building and exploded. The third arrow would prove to be much much trickier. It did not follow the same path as it's ill-fated bretheren and instead focused on the Volta Gundam.
"Tricky, tricky." Giovanni said to himself. Then, an epiphany. He drew a beam saber and turned it's power output to maximum while simultaneously shutting down some of the operations of the Volta. With a mighty upwards swing, the Volta launched the beam saber into the air. With the reduced strain on the reactor and a blazingly hot object flying skywards, the volta was emitting less of a heat signiture and the arrow chose to follow the beam saber instead, which it would explode against.
Powering the systems back online, Giovanni heard the cheers of the crowd. They were amused by that almost deadly specticle.

"Surprise!!! SIIIDEEWIIINDERRRR!!!" Nothing stealthy about the attack itself, as she released the arrow, glasses and windows shattered. It even creates a vacuum for a brief time and carries smoke along the beam arrows' path.

For a gundam that relied primarily on stealth to hide it's weak defense, the Hawker sure was taking alot of risks by coming out into the open. As soon as the Hawker stepped out onto the street, the Volta detected it. Giovanni yelled in surprise and turned to face his opponent, who was pulling back an arrow. God damn it.
The next few seconds seemed to slow down exponentially for Giovanni. He hastily ignited his thrusters in a desperate attempt to throw the Volta to the side. Simultaneously, he brought the beam shotgun up and pointed it at the Hawker Gundam's head, firing once. Then the arrow was let loose.
The beam tipped arrow tore through the Volta's right arm, sheering off a good portion of it. Everything below the shoulder was now gone. Compounding this, a portion of the beam shotgun was also caught in the path of the arrow and was rendered useless.
As it was falling, the Volta drew it's pistol and fired four bullets, two at the bow and two at the bow arm.
The next few seconds seemed to slow down exponentially for Giovanni. He hastily ignited his thrusters in a desperate attempt to throw the Volta to the side. Simultaneously, he brought the beam shotgun up and pointed it at the Hawker Gundam's head, firing once. Then the arrow was let loose.
The beam tipped arrow tore through the Volta's right arm, sheering off a good portion of it. Everything below the shoulder was now gone. Compounding this, a portion of the beam shotgun was also caught in the path of the arrow and was rendered useless.
As it was falling, the Volta drew it's pistol and fired four bullets, two at the bow and two at the bow arm.

"Yuss!" Adrianne exclaims, she knows she had surprised the enemy quite effectively. Despite the move, however, the Volta once again exceeded her expectations, having enough time to both evade a potential killshot and pop off a shot from the beam shotgun.
Just after she fired one of her best attacks, the simultaneous shotgun blast (originally aimed for the head) was thrown off target. Unfortunately for Adrianne, it still hit her square in the torso, sending her back, falling down. "AaaaHH!" Adrianne screams in a shrilling voice.
She gets up quickly and scrambles to the same hiding point she jumped the downed opponent, muttering curses as she felt bullets right at her back left.
Once she was in a temporarily safe place, she assesses the damage. Torso damage moderate, but it still won't affect my aim much, if at all. Three bullet shots in the left arm, but nothing that would throw me off... Adrianne thinks to herself, gasping for some air. "Dammit, you bloody bastard, you ruined my moment!" Unfazed by the damage, Adrianne speaks up, and behind cover, fires two consecutive piercing arrows at Volta's damaged areas.

The falling Volta twisted, causing one arrow to graze the shoulder, while the other pierced straight through the shoulder, tearing a small chunk off of the bottom. Giovanni grunted, he did not like where this was going. The Volta picked itself up and looked around, trying to spot the Hawker. "It's under cover." Giovanni said to himself, "have to be more careful."
Giovanni looked at the arrow holes in the shoulder through the Volta's eyes and then looked out onto the battlefield. The angle of the holes gave him a ballpark estimate of where they came from and he began to trudge forward, keeping low, always on the lookout. He kept his finger on the trigger, just in case the Hawker decided to pay him another surprise visit.
Giovanni looked at the arrow holes in the shoulder through the Volta's eyes and then looked out onto the battlefield. The angle of the holes gave him a ballpark estimate of where they came from and he began to trudge forward, keeping low, always on the lookout. He kept his finger on the trigger, just in case the Hawker decided to pay him another surprise visit.
"Yesss!" Adrianne smirks to herself once again, after hitting the Volta. It's getting up, however, and seems more prepared this time. And, it seems to have tracked her origin. It's still slightly smoky, but even the most blind mobile fighters can see through it. In other words, the dusty cover's advantage is completely gone.
Adrianne looks right behind her, and there is an alleyway. However, it's full of unstable structures and rocks, and going that way to play hide-and seek-again will just backfire if she moves just one of those rocks and lose her stealth.
Concluding that she is far enough to still have a ranged accuracy advantage, she jumps again into the scene. However, instead of charging forward like last time when she popped the Sidewinder, she reverses her thrust this time around, to widen the gap. She fires two explosive arrows at the Volta.

One explosive arrow flies underneith the banged-up shoulder and explodes harmlessly against the ground. The second arrow is easily dodged by the Volta, the arrow exploding against the side of a building. Unfortunatly for the Hawker, it wasn't enough to create a dust cloud like before and the building stayed relatively intact.
Giovanni was getting tired of this cat and mouse game. He needed to move in closer or else this match would never get finished. Both opponents were evenly matched, despite their choice of combat style. He marvelled at the skill of the bowman, "If only she was in the Neo-Italian military." Giovanni said quietly.
Giovanni shook his head, as if to shake out his thoughts; he needed to concentrate on the task before him. With a mighty yell of "Enough!", Giovanni launched the Volta with surprising speed forward, towords the Hawker Gundam. He zig zagged through intersections and weaved around buildings, putting on a rather impressive show for a tactical maneouver.
When it was in sufficient range, the Volta raised the pistol and fired the rest of it's clip (6 shots) at the torso and head of the Hawker. The pistol, now no longer needed, was tossed away and a beam saber slid into it's hand.

Adrianne is pissed that the two explosives she fired missed, given the Volta's presumably still banged-up condition. She has to think faster, as the opponent tries to close the gap she had previously widened.
In many ways, she was 'stuck.' Adrianne is parallel to the last skyscraper, and everthing else behind her is a huge crater, a crater made by the previous fighters, and where they started from. She will lose yet another advantage: cover. That realization dawned on Adrianne, making her stop. Meanwhile the Volta fires the pistol, most of which she successfully blocks with her bow; the other two landed somewhere in the side of her hip. Adrianne hisses a bit, but in this stage not even pistol bullet grazes would seriously hurt her.
The next move, Volta's beam saber is pulled. As it continue to close in, Adrianne's hands glow once again, with her right hand ready to grab an ammo, and ready to adapt to Volta's actions.

"I will not be trifled with!" Giovanni roared, pushing the thusters even more. He was exasperated by the efforts of the Hawker, and he wanted to end this fight quickly. The beam saber was put forth, pointing ahead of the Volta. "I'll drive right through you!"
Although the Volta was closing the gap rather quickly, the crowd could have sworn that the Volta began to glow a slight golden color.
