Re: 4GFFG: Round Two: Neo America Neo Ryūkyūs

Makii raced up the street with suprising speed, dodging his pass and shifting into another side street. Again, the building started rocking as the Shisa Gundam went to work, the shudders of the old building obvious to Anderson backing down the street.

But the Shisa didn't come flying out again, which caused a frown to hit Anderson. Kuninaka was either trying to get him to go in after her or... what? It further annoyed him that he didn't know what the hell she was doing. A thought instantly flashed in his mind, of those annoying defenses that would only have one or two players get into a three point stance. The idea of those was to hide what was going on by having as many players as possible milling around, hiding who would drop back to defend the pass and who would rush him. But annoying was the word for those teams, as real threat they posed was quite small unless he screwed up, which was rare, and there was usually a way to spot who was going to do what.

As was the case here as Chris stopped fading backwards and resumed bouncing on his feet, footballs flashing to life in either hand. There was a flash of light and debris on the side of the building that the Shisa and presumably entered before, as if she was bursting through it again, which made Anderson cock his right arm back, but no dog-like Gundam came spilling out into the street, and Anderson didn't throw.

Thank God none of these people know jack about real football! Anderson thought as the frown flipped on his face. It was like when a wide receiver messed up a route, either by falling down or the defensive back jamming him or whatever went wrong. You wouldn't throw to somebody who wasn't there, and Anderson's years in the NFL, playing with every kind of receiving target, big or small, slow or fast, had made the no throw easy. But...

Barely two seconds had passed since the Shisa had blown out the side of the building as Chris went to work and rocketed the ball out of his right hand, another right down the middle of the street. In a heartbeat, the other ball had shifted hands again, and this one went right into the middle of the building. Maybe it'll bring the friggin' thing down on her head... He thought hopefully, as he gave the beam emitters an extra second to cool down before flashing more of the pink blobs to life in the Quarterback Gundam's hands.

(We should think of a thematic and awesome end to the fight soon since it's over Friday. Also, two pages! I think we might have the most combat posts this round.)

Hearing the beam ball hit the top of the building almost directly from the top, Makii had a hard time telling what direction the attack came from. She believed the sound came slightly more from one side and burst towards a wall in that direction. Even if she chose the wrong direction, she would likely still have a cloud of a debris covering her position.

Making four quick slashes at the wall with her beam claws, the Neo Ryūkyūan fighter cut out a large section of the steel and concrete out in front of her and grabbed it. As she jumped out of the quickly collapsing structure, Maki head butted the portion of her new "shield" and made small slit she could see though. She also reignited the headache previously got when previously hit.

As luck would have it she could see the Neo American fighter in front of her. Knowing he would attack and would be hit very soon since she was in the open, Makii hoped that the steel siding of the brutalist building cloud take a few hits. She compacted herself behind the shield as she rushed the Neo American yet again, looking like she was attacking with an oversized football blocking shield.

As the building started to come down, the Shisa jumped out into the street, holding what appeared to be a purpose cut chunk of the building as something of a shield, even with a crude little peep hole slashed in it. The Gundam somehow managed to compact itself behind the big square and started moving at Chris, who was actually suprised.

Is she that dumb?! Chris thought. She had to have seen how his beam football had gone right through that same material like a hot knife through already melting butter, but seemed to expect that the same material would stop him. Alright... He thought with a grin and a mental sigh as she made what could easily be a fatal flaw.

Anderson stood still as she was coming up the street. He planted his feet and fired a laser accurate pass with nearly all his strength, aimed for the small viewing hole in the shield. As soon it rocketed out of his hand, Anderson was backing up, moving in the standard slight crouch dropback, hands up near his shoulder, transferring the other beam ball from his left hand to the emitters on the right and giving the left hand key time to cool. After an unusual eight steps, he stopped and in fired another perfect pass, this time just at the center of the shield, knowing full well that both beams would slice right through it as if it wasn't even there, and resumed backing up the street, heading toward a wide intersection that would give him plenty of room to move around, should he need it.
