TARRRPG: Chapter 23: Gründe [Earth]

-Martin Snow-

Martin stood there quietly, his arms crossed, while everything went on around him, . He'd never heard of this "Gold Utopia" and it sounded to him like some sort of fairy tale either way. 'next he'll tell us we're going to Atlantis or something'

Martin almost jumped when without warning June interrupted. He should have known she wouldn't like being talked around especially when it involved her own fate. It troubled him even as he watched those kids try to convince her. It was his fault she was here; his fault she was being treated like this. If his actions were only causing her misery he'd have to correct them.

"damned fool..." Martin spoke to himself under his breath before finally answering Morpheus question. "June if you want to go then I'll do whatever it takes to help, after all it's my fault you're here at all." now he turned his head to Morpheus "As for staying, if I do I won't be fighting. I already told you I'm sick and tired of this damned war and fighting in it without a good reason.

Victious Sterling

Looking over his hands Victious sized up Kalen Barnett. After a prolonged silence he spoke.

"I was under the impression It was you who had asked to see us. Regardless, yes, we do have a question for you; What exactly has happened with the Black Knights? It has been difficult to contain the information that an entire unit of the Fandom was slaughtered and factual accounts of the event are nonexistent since no witnesses survived. It pains me to see so many of our brave solders cut down like that."

"Very well, Commander Bian." Riman said as she left with her "escort" to her asigned quarters. She sat down on her bed and began to wonder. 'Is it like that guy, Zangetsu, said? Does inferiority not equate to.... Should I instead shift my focus......' It wasn't long before she fell asleep on her bed.

(One action item at a time... *whistles*)

-Livingstone-

A small smile emerged inward in Steve Livingstone's mind as he could tell easily that Santi was interested --- and that Livingstone had his attention.

"If I may ask, General Santi...are you a religious man by any means?" Steve began sagely, nodding in acknowledgement; He knew Santi wanted some answers as well regarding Tokyo and, more specifically, what exactly happened there to cause a general mutiny amongst the Innovators. That very question was not related to Tokyo and the Ptolemaios as a whole, of course, but it was --- in turn --- very relevant to what Livingstone would use to explain Rear Admiral Dorel Richter. "If you are --- in particular, if you're a Christian --- then it's very difficult not to be familiar with that name one way or another. He initially started out here, right in the Federation, as a Chaplain for a Federal Forces division in South America --- until at one point Richter decided that he wanted, for some reason, to fully dedicate his life to secular study instead and went to the Vatican as a Bishop. His rise there could be only said as phenomenal, General; In a relatively short span, Richter rose through the Vatican's ranks through his own connections, a dubious fortune, and a number of unknown benefactors until he finally got as high as anyone could --- as Archdiocese of the Holy See."

Livingstone paused, letting Richter's dubious rise to power sink in with Santi's own suspicions.

"At that point he was at the very peak of power, General --- almost second in clout only to the Pope himself, but his reign as Archdiocese of the Holy See was seemingly just as short as his rise to it. See --- you'll have to pardon the pun, sadly --- as Richter got into that position, rumors began arising of his extremist tendencies and intolerance of other religions in the Earth Sphere. It had been rumored that while assigned to that post, he had been secretly collaborating with some of his old connections within the Federation Council in order to organize a 'Crusade', of sorts --- a Crusade to not only eradicate other religions from the Earth Sphere altogether, but also to make the Roman Catholic Church the dominant religion in the Federation. Obviously, that was going to start fires all over the Earth Sphere that the Federation wouldn't want to deal with...So five months later, the Vatican excommunicated him altogether.

"But that was, obviously, not the end of him yet. If I had to credit Richter with anything, it was being uncannily resourceful, General; It was nonetheless natural that Richter managed to get as far as he did." Livingstone chuckled mirthlessly at that. "His old connections, as well as some new ones from his Vatican days, came through with an investment again, and he eventually found a post as a military man again until he got to where he was today, as Director of the Earthbound SNRI branch. From there, it's self-explanatory; Seemingly, under his leadership, SNRI had evolved from a mere Federal Forces in-house R&D department into its own autonomous Developmental body --- and in recent days, into what was almost its own faction in this war. However, even today, rumors of his extremist tendencies and secret ambitions refuse to fade away --- and a number of former SNRI officers working within the Earthbound branches claimed that Richter was secretly planning something to 'force' the Vatican to take him back, planning which tied into his attempts to make SNRI autonomous and separate from the Federal Forces. Only the appearance of the Fandom, it seemed, halted Richter's ambitions...for awhile.

"But Richter is plotting again, General, and I fear that this time, it's the real deal. I refused to believe it at first, until I found these."

Suddenly, as Livingstone turned his head right and nodded to someone off-screen, Santi's viewscreen began flickering with a number of professionally-drafted, highly technical blueprints, all in the standard SNRI drafting format, all with the personal go-ahead signature seal of Rear Admiral Dorel Richter himself --- all of them varied and different from each other. Some were technical schematics, detailing the construction of an unknown type of Human-sized container and the power generation specs for them; Some were biological and chemical blueprints, detailing enhancement of bodily functions, reflex and brainwave measurements, and chemical formulas. And while most had the standard signature seal, others had a considerably older one --- that with a two-barred Roman Catholic cross and the official approval of the Holy See.

At first, none of them seemed related to each other, and it seemed they were scattered notes on various things --- until the very last images appeared. Instead of technical schematics, the last few pages were word processed sidenotes, with some of the sentences being noted as "balancing adrenal surge gradient of subjects by 110%" or "ensure mental conditioning is properly carried out and moral directive parameters set permanently into the brain to minimize external mental influence", and so forth. With those glimpses of the last few pages, it would all suddenly make sense; All of the images before, all the documents, were related to one very thing.

The SPARTAN Project.

"As you can see from the older Holy See approval seals on some of the documents, General, this is nothing new to Admiral Richter at all." Livingstone continued, his face looking deathly serious again with the implications he was making. He wanted Santi to know, without a doubt, that this was what Richter was indeed up to. And there was no need to lie here at all, ironically: If this wasn't the truth now, Steve sighed, it would be later on --- with Dorel Richter, it really was only a matter of time. "But all these documents, with the earlier components carried over from his Vatican days, are part of an ongoing Earthbound SNRI Genetics Experiment known as the SPARTAN Project --- a directive to design, and clone, an army of Genetic Supersoldiers with enhanced reflexes, strength and speed, and immovable mental and moral conditioning. I say 'ongoing', General, with a broad definition: The basic SPARTAN Project is finished, and your subordinates might've seen a considerable number of them in action against the Divine Crusaders already. But we don't know yet where Richter is cloning them...and among those documents, General Santi, are further experimental plans to upgrade the SPARTANs."

From there, Steve nodded, it would be easy.

"As for how Tokyo figures into everything I've just showed you, General, I'll begin by explaining what exactly happened in Tokyo with the Ptolemaios to begin with. From what the intelligence from both the Earthbound SNRI, led by Richter, and Spacebound SNRI, led my me, could concur on, after the Ptolemaios' Tour of Duty fighting alongside the Federal Forces in the area against the Fandom, the Innovators there had been split into two camps. One camp was led by the Ptolemaios' Captain, Heading Frontier, who had previously assassinated the ship's previous CO but was beginning to regret her actions in wanting to reveal the Innovators to the Earth Sphere; the other was by its MS Commander, Enlight Endeavor, who saw Heading as too weak and unfit to command because of it. Even before Enlight contacted SNRI in a desperate bid for support, Heading's camp had already been plotting against her and her camp of Innovators with some of your other subordinates, I believe; When I sent an agent of mine to Tokyo to assess the situation, Heading's camp moved preemptively and Enlight's camp was forced to defend themselves and take flight.

"That, General, is what I had ascertained. Now, how does Richter's SPARTAN Project figure into this mess, you wonder? Simple: When Enlight contacted SNRI in a desperate bid for support, she found Richter first --- who decided that Innovator technology would be the perfect determinant to make his SPARTANs nearly unstoppable for the Christian Crusade he was plotting. When us at the Spacebound SNRI found out about Richter's subsequent orders, we were nearly caught off-guard: to not only escort Enlight's camp safely, but to annihilate Heading's camp and the Ptolemaios to prevent their Innovator technology from officially reaching Federation hands. I think at this point, General, you would agree that to have Richter's SPARTANs fielded against us with Innovator enhancements as well would be a disaster of catastrophic proportions --- so I was forced to act preemptively under the Spacebound SNRI branch's authority to send my own agent to spirit Enlight's group away while minimizing Heading's casualties as much as possible during the escape. With Enlight and her group given sanctuary here at the Spacebound SNRI, I intend to stall Richter for as long as possible while we decide on a course of action.

"But I can't do so for long, General Santi. I need your help." Livingstone sighed and glanced evenly at Santi at that. "Despite SNRI's recent actions, we haven't forgotten our roots at all, and I will not stand by while Richter and his 'Holy' ambitions attempt to lead us and the Federation into ruin. Simply put: If you can help me deal with Richter and reassert control over the Earthbound SNRI, General Santi, I'll reorganize SNRI as an official departmental branch of the Federal Forces again. You'll be known as the man who cleansed a traitor within our midsts and brought SNRI back into the Federation fold once more. Since the time is not yet right to 'separate the chaff from the wheat', however, General, there is one other immediate way you can help me first."

Steve paused a moment.

"Me and the Spacebound SNRI need a victory, even a small one, of our own to reestablish our clout and reputation within SNRI as a whole, to let everyone know that we still exist as a substantial ally of the Federation. I am currently setting up an upcoming drop attack against Aidoneus Island with some of the spacebound forces under my command, where they will make an orbital entry above Aidoneus Island and attack the DC from above as the primary attack; I ask of you, General, to send a number of your pilots to assist and support the operation."

Re: TARRRPG: Chapter 23: Gründe [Earth]

(Double-post because the first one ballooned on me. -.-)

-Morpheus, June, Emily and Kirie-

"No," June frowned, shaking her head at Martin with a defeated, resigned tone --- while she didn't like it at all, what Martin said made things sound even worse. This was her problem; She was not going to drag Martin along with her wherever she went, much less because of this. "...No, Martin, I guess I'm staying here either way. Both the Fandom and the Federation will be after me now, the Fandom because we're deserters, the Federation because of who..." June trailed off bitterly at that, but Emily bit her lip, knowing it didn't need to be said. "...who I am. And if Midrenn could get a Federal Forces officer on board the Aroundight so easily, Side 6 and neutrality ain't going to stop either of them. There's nowhere else I could go where I'll be safe, is there? And like hell I'm dragging you along for that on my account, Martin."

At that, June took an uneasy, disdainful step back and lowered her head. "So I'll stay here for now, Morpheus, but if I see Zaine...I can't promise I won't try to kill him."

Knowing that it was the best he could hope for at the moment, Morpheus nodded; Lelouch refused to let his hatred and burden go, and it killed him and June. He could only hope that one day June would let that hatred go as well before she and their child suffered a similar, if not identical, fate. "Fair enough, although I hope one day you can come to terms with it anyway once you understand what Lelouch wanted of him. Martin, it wasn't an order; You're still free to stay here with June if you don't want to fight for us --- if Aidoneus comes under attack, it'll be good to have an extra person who can watch June's back, anyway. If you ever decide on where you want to go, come find me.

"Kirie?"

Kirie nodded obediently at that. Inwardly, he was glad that June decided to stay; One tragedy was enough to deal with, and even though Kirie didn't exactly know June as well as Lelouch or Martin did, ever since that one meeting in Calais he's felt a sense of responsibility towards June Uzuki --- Emily, sympathizing, smiled at Kirie for it and placed her arms behind her back casually. While he wasn't attracted to June at all (and that was probably the cause of Emily's relief!), not in that way, June was to Kirie a sort-of additional trial for him --- as the King of Hearts, Kirie felt obliged to do his best to protect June and the new life she and Lelouch have, too. "Yes, sir?"

"Why don't you and Emily go help June and Martin settle into some temporary quarters until I can assign better ones for them --- and keep it quiet?" Morpheus finished, turning around with his arms behind his back, and both Kirie and Emily saluted happily at him back. "And while you're at it, please get them some food that doesn't taste like a rubber tire for once..."

-Kalen-

"Indeed I have, sir. I merely wasn't expecting it so expediently," Kalen answered matter-of-factly, keeping calm and professional-minded despite what loomed behind him --- and ahead. Even though it took every ounce of willpower not to expose Victious Sterling for those crocodile tears he shed for the Black Knights, Kalen managed to pull it off; He was aware Victious wasn't sad at all, and that the whole thing he said was a mere formality, after all.

And that was why Kalen was careful not to tell either of them about June, or give them the impression that she was still alive.

"After his Excellency's death during that battle over Aidoneus, I discovered that my former teammate, Midrenn Saphotte, had attempted to strike a deal with the Federation in a vain and 'misguided'---" Kalen lowered his hand and remained standing straight, hoping Sterling and Aelfhere won't hear the paratheses around that word. "---attempt at vengeance against the Fandom and DC for his Excellency's death. To that end, while the bulk of the Fandom forces stationed here were off on their punitive mission against the DC, Midrenn had smuggled a Federation officer on board the Aroundight without my knowledge; I had only discovered her presence when Midrenn attempted to attack another two of the Black Knights, Martin Snow and June Uzuki, in the hanger.

"Apparently, Snow and Uzuki discovered Midrenn's plot separately and tried to stop him, but were forced to flee on the Shen-hu; Midrenn pursued in the Advanced Hazel, and I in turn hastily mobilized in my Gelgoog to give chase." Kalen sighed at that, shaking his head wistfully. "It was a grave error on my part, because while I was able to catch up to Midrenn, I lost sight of the Federal spy --- and I had lost all contact with the Shen-hu. After defeating Midrenn and scouring the area for a few minutes, I was forced to conclude that the Shen-hu, and Black Knights Snow and Uzuki, were most likely shot down and lost in the ocean."

Kalen was inwardly glad that this was where Midrenn had actually destroyed the Gelgoog's Flight Recorder and Recording Camera in the dogfight.

"When I returned, however...your Grace, with all due respect, you had to see it with your own eyes. The Federal spy was long gone. There were corpses everywhere, hewn to pieces, all cut down, and not a single drop of blood anywhere --- All the corpses were instantly cauterized by whatever had killed them. The only survivor I could find---he's dead now, too," A sigh. "Said that the woman had moved with inhuman reflexes and speed, danced around them, and was swinging some kind of never seen before weapon --- a glowing bright red energy blade that could block even bullets, like a miniature Beam Saber except...much more controllable. That's all I know, and I contacted you as quickly as possible at the sight, sir."

-Nowe-

This all sucked horribly... He continued to lay there as the bratty little girl continued to run her mouth. He wanted to reach out and strangle her but being tied up he bid his time. Instead he waited until a Doctor came in to read his vitals.

"He seems have calmed down. A few more medication sessions and some time in re-education he should be fine again. Seems that the altered humans programs have defects... If it was up to me I'd just eliminate them. But thats why I'm not in charge." He knew Nena was sitting there and knew she was also not very normal. But he didn't care. He hated these sort of people because they broke down easily.

"You can leave now if you like. Its not like he's going to respond to you in this condition."

Garmin narrowed his eyes and rubbed his chin. "I wonder why such an efficient assassin wouldn't follow all loose leads." Garmin removed his hand from his chin and placed his hand on the hilt of the ceremonial rapier that hung from his ornate belt.

"The Black Knights have been an impressive asset on our conquest of this planet. To have them be cut down like this is a rather unsettling thought. I want you to rest up, this turn of events has most likely left you exhausted. And It would be best if we were to retire the Black Knight squadron, so I shall have you transferred."

Re: TARRRPG: Chapter 23: Gründe [Earth]

--Santi--

He had considered himself a man of Faith; however, he was at best oblivious at the Roman Catholic hierarchy and its important people as well. As soon as Livingstone uttered the name "Dorel Richter," he signals everyone in his command center to take note, and pull up everything recorded with his name on it and know everything about this man.

From there on, Santi listened to Livingstone's history lecture. He let everything sink in. Of course, there are some things that are accurate based on Rachel's early reports when she worked a joint attack with the SNRI to sink the traitors.

When Livingstone moved to explain Tokyo however, Santi's facial features begins to shift. Of course, Jameson and his people have told me differently regarding that 'agent' and his actions. Again, he signals his people, "Pull up Rachel Anne's report in Hong Kong," and his subordinates follow.

As Livingstone ended his piece, and what helluva piece that was, he requests a joint attck on the Divine Crusaders. This time, it was Santi's turn to respond and comment at Livingstone's words.

"This Richter seems like trouble, as you suggest," he says, clearing his throat, reviewing what Livingstone describes, "A self-proclaimed holy man hellbent on retaking Vatican by force with his radical ambitions...yes, it sounds like a recipe for an ideal storybook bad guy."

Then, he, signals the ok to his subordinates as all of the files involving Richter were pulled up, especially regarding the SPARTANs that showed up and Rachel Anne's report regarding the SNRI units, to which Rachel quoted on her report, "Pieces of sh*t." When this was ballooned to a zoomed view in the main screen it drew some chuckles across the command center, and even Santi lets out a smirk. Why the hell did a quote as unprofessional like that pass in a formal report? Anyways, that doesn't matter right now.

He then crosses his hands in front of his face Gendo Ikari style and now concludes his response. "Yes, but as bad as Richter sounds, I feel as if this is only the tip of the iceberg. Nonetheless, I personally thank you for the information, I will now have my men and women work on an investigation, and hopefully arrest this man before we see more damage. Tell me though, Livingstone, I'm curious: Why attack the DC right now?" As Santi asked this question he continues to look over the files on all reported SNRI actions.

Santi was known around the Federation who wants to sink Fandom first more than anything else; he does raise his eyebrows regarding the request.

--Gundam Team ver. Awesome--

The Fafnir finally lands in California. Johann notices this and gets ready to board. "About damn time, guys," he calls out as mechanics move his newly completed Strike E to ready boarding the Archangel-class behemoth. Also in hand was a newly constructed Lohengrin cannon---which will take a few hours to remount on the ship to take back its signature firepower of authority.

Re: TARRRPG: Chapter 23: Gründe [Earth]

-Kit, 4 hours ago or so-

"Well, there is a way we could do that.. but I'd have to hop into that thing to dig programming protocols out of it's memory."

As she said that, she thumbed back at the Blackhawk, which looked like a haggard warrior that was missing some articles of armor, yet still standing solemn and strong.

"So, what's next for you, Kit?"

Kit turned to Taylor and nodded.

"That.. I do not know. I'm in a sort of limbo, if you want to call it that."

With that, she looked over to the two Vampires that stood next to the Blackhawk. As it turned out, both pilots had died of pulmonary embolisms due to their inexperience with the weapons and G loads. It had come on so suddenly..and took the AI by surprise. Humans, were truly very fragile, and if what Heading wanted to do had to continue.. Kit had doubt that she'd see the compatriots around her aboard the bridge of that first ship.

-Kit: Present-

Kit was idly seated in the pilots lounge of the Fafnir, looking out of the bay window at the passing whitecaps that swelled below the ship as it hovered over the Pacific back toward Tokyo. She kept mulling over the words Taylor had asked her before she made a sudden exit to 'attend to some things.' But in reality, the death of those men who to her seemed perfectly healthy when they landed struck her something feirce in the 'logic center' of her processor. She had trouble grasping the concept of death, even now..

Mike

Heading

Riman

Vampire Flight

The crew of the Ptolemy

They had all died, died not after hours of beatings and complete disintegration, but rather simple things like shrapnel wounds or a bullet to the brain. It was consuming much of her..conscious thought, or rather the processing ability that her 'brain' had possessed. Had the AI become fixated not on a simple syntax, but rather a concept of life and death? If only Goldsburg could witness this.. Mind you he'd probably loose a nut or two in the process.

-Nena Trinity-(-Hawaii base-)

Nena wisely kept her mouth shut, arguing with somebody like Nowe was one thing but people in power could do things to you. Rising from her chair she straightened her uniform and nodded. She had gotten the information she wanted now so there was no need for her to stay in the room any longer. When Nowe woke up or was released she would talk with him again.

-Johann Trinity+Purple Haro-(-Hawaii base-)

Handing his sister her Haro, Johann tussled his sister's hair playfully much to her annoyance. She had spent almost an hour in the infirmary checking up on Raven and that man she had called 'fun'. Micheal would probably have known what to say right now but Johann felt at loss for words as usual.

Re: TARRRPG: Chapter 23: Gründe [Earth]

-Livingstone-

"Even if you do perform an investigation right now, General, you won't find him --- the exact location of the Strategic Naval Research Institute Headquarters Earthbound is hidden even to me, aside from that it is extremely well-hidden somewhere in South America. And even if we do find Richter, he still has enough clout and connections within both SNRI and the Federation Council to cause trouble and you can expect him to be, especially with the SPARTANs, well-protected by numbers. As I said, the time is not yet right to separate the chaff from the wheat; Be assured, however, that like all men in power with weapons Richter is bound to fail in resisting using them en-masse. One day, soon enough, he'll make a mistake --- and then together we can strike at him."

At that, despite the chuckles earlier from Santi's own end of the connection, Livingstone remained stoic and unmoving.

"As for my reasons for striking at the Divine Crusaders? It's quite simple, General." Steve stood up at that, placing his arms behind his back with a straightened posture. "Even though the Fandom had recently struck a harsh blow against the DC, General Santi, the bulk of the DC's fighting strength and gargantuan ability to recover had not been extinguished by any means --- while the DC might be weakened, Bian Zoldark had proven time and time again of his resourcefulness and cunning and the DC still maintain a technological edge over us."

Livingstone sighed at that. "They'll be back, and they'll regroup...and if we do not remove their potential threat to us now, the Federation may never get the chance to completely uproot them again after the Fandom is defeated, General. This might be one of the only chances we have to slow, if not stop, the DC's growth."

-Kalen-

Since I'm the very last survivor, Kalen thought derisively, it's not like I have much of a choice.

"As you wish, General." Kalen simply said, saluted, and turned on his heel to march out of the room the same way he marched in.

-Zaine Kamiya-

After safely getting off the Valhalla, Zaine decided to explore the base (At least, the parts he could gain access to) in search of Gai, curious about those orders, silently praying that they were forged.

-Reimi Saionji-

Reimi had found her way to her room on the island, and tried to go to sleep, though her mind was rather clouded for a bit due to Zangetsu. 'Why... does he make my heart go into my throat?'

He walked around still with no destination in sight. "Wonder what everyone else is up to? Maybe I should go back to the simulators and do some personal training? It has been a while since I tried to use my newtype powers." He said as he turned around and began to walk back to the simulators.

-Zaine Kamiya-

After searching around the base for a bit, Zaine concluded that Gai was either on the Ceres... or had gotten back to the Valhalla...

'I've still got to apologize to Miss Midori though... But i'll do that after she's had a chance to calm down.'

With that, Zaine resumed his search for Gai, but ended up bumping into Strike as he was heading out of the base. "Hey... Strike! You got a minute?" Zaine asked as he approached. "Have you seen Gai? There's something I really need to talk to him about."

-Lucia Kamiya-

"Well Rosy? You want that hint or not?" Lucia asked with a grin on her face. She was actually hoping Rosy would inquire... But then came something unexpected... Her legs suddenly went numb and she collapsed to the floor. 'Wha... what's happening...?'

Sol Badguy

After wandering the base all while the Fafnir was gone he went to the ship immediately upon it's return. During his stay at the base he had went over his combat data from his last battle at Hawaii against that blue GN-XIII. "That guy totally kicked my ass." Sol said angriely. "Most of my attacks were inaffective and I could adiquatly block him. That will have to change." He soon found what he was looking for. One of them mechanics aboard the Fafnir, specificly one who had worked on his Hyperion already. "Hey you I need to ask you to modify my suit a little." Sol then told the technitian of the changes he wanted done. "So do you think you can do it?"

Re: TARRRPG: Chapter 23: Gründe [Earth]

-Riman and Zangetsu-

Riman awoke some time later and looked around her room. She didn't want to stay here all day. With that she stood up, walked to her door and opened it. Two guards stood there. "Is there anything wrong with mewalking around the island?" She asked.

"Not as long as you stay out of the labs and certin other locations." One responded.

"Fine, then I'll head on my walk." She said as she headed off towards the docks. It wasn't long before she bumped into someone she knew. "Hey Zangetsu." she said as she called out to the him down the hall.

He looked up hearing his name called. "Oi Riman. How goes life here?" He said as he walked up to her now finding something else to do besides going to train.

Riman looked down depressed. "Ugh, they got me stuck in some room unable to piliot till Bian says otherwise."

"Thats to bad." Zangetsu said as he then remembered where he was going. "Well since you cannot improve yourself in real life have you tried using a simulator?"

"Simulator?" Riman hadn't ever thought about them. "Where are they?" She asked eager to train herself to pass her previous limitations.

"They are down this way." Zangetsu said leading her. "Hope you don't mind if I spar with you?"

"Not at all as long as your a capable pilot" Riman replied.

"That isn't a problem." Zangetsu said as they neared their destination.

- Strike -

Mobile suit maintenance. Strike was good at it, and he preferred to handle much of it himself. Even he had to admit that it grew tiresome performing it every other day, but the sad fact was that there wasn't anything else to do on the island except eat, drink, or watch television shows (all of which sucked royally, the young man had long since noted with heavy dismay). Then again, one never could keep his battle machine in too pristine a condition. A fine-tune here and a patch-up there could make all the difference in a dogfight. Presently, Strike was sprawled underneath an open panel on the Delta's leg fixing the fuel conduits when Zaine arrived, inquiring about Gai's location.

"Can't say that I have," Strike replied, remaining focused on his work as he gave several hard cranks to a ratchet, tightening a series of large bolts. "Keep searching though. This place isn't that big -- you'll find him."

- Rosy -

"Whoa, easy!" Rosy exclaimed, kneeling down to Lucia's side and grabbing her shoulder. "You okay? You're not dying on us, are you?"

-Lucia Kamiya-

When Rosy came over to help her, Lucia spoke weakly... "Don't worry... I'm not dying..." After a pause, Lucia then made a request. "Maybe I... over did it... Rosy... promise me... promise me you'll never try what I can do..." After that Lucia promptly passed out.

-Zaine Kamiya-

"I... see... Thanks..." He then departed again to look for Gai some more, though his thoughts went back to that order...

"Damn it... Where the hell... Ah!" He soon caught sight of his quarry... and quickly ran over to him. "Gai! Hold it a minute!" Oddly enough, there was a bit of desperation in his voice as he spoke.

- Rosy -

"Lucy? Lucy? Hey?"

Rosy put her hand in front of Lucia's face and snapped her fingers a couple of times in an attempt to bring her out of it. No luck.

"Uh... okay, she's out. Lily, give me a hand will you?"

Lily took a step forward to comply, but Jessie beat her to it. In one smooth motion, she scooped up the unconscious girl in her arms and hurried her all the way over to the medical wing. Gingerly she was laid atop a bed as various nurses bustled over to check on her.

For several moments, Jessie merely gazed solemnly upon Lucia's still form before striding back out the exit. Surprisingly, her normally vacant stare was replaced with one of subtle annoyance.

She had a bone to pick with a certain Section 12 director.

Sume Gai

Gai, busy on his search for Morpheus, didn't hear Zaine calling to him as he exited the Ceres. It really didn't matter anyway as Gai needed to talk to Morpheus first before he would be ready to confront Zaine. The "order" was clutched in his hand the once neatly folded paper now partly crumpled from Gai's tight grip.

Gai was now going to look around the island itself; not a promising prospect considering both the size and complexity of the facility that was the DC HQ. 'who knows how long Masaki could wonder this place?' Gai smiled at the random thought.

-Martin Snow-

Martin looked down as June refused his offer but, inwardly, he agreed with June's assessment. After all, that had been the very reason they came here rather than anywhere else. He didn't bother answering when Morpheus again suggested that he fight with them. If whoever was after June got through all of them Martin and the Shen-Hu wouldn't be of much help, though, he'd do what he could if that unlikely situation came to pass.

Silently he followed when this Morpheus guy Ordered the young boy and girl to take them to some quarters. Martin honestly didn't know what to say now; to June or anyone else. They'd found the asylum he'd hoped for but where would they go from here?

-Zaine Kamiya-

A questionmark formed over Zaine's head when Gai just up and left without responding...

After a moment of thought, he decided to to go back to the Valhalla and simply wait there. 'I'll expect some answers later...'
