Gai returned to his seat satisfied with the answer. He had wanted to know because it had become clear to him in the past several engagements that Acting without a clear plan would mean the death of more of the Gundam Team. That was something he couldn't continue to accept.

Von Hawker

The Scientist had continued to watched the displays to the very last minute recording any and every change in Lt. Fourteen which almost to his disappointment wasn't much. as soon as the Pilots turned off their machines Von Hawker rushed out hoping to witness Lt. Fourteen's psychological reaction to a new environment. What he saw was interesting to say the least; His subject seemed to 'savor' the new environment. the Doctor was pleased.

"Good yes yes a wonderful reaction; now how does the subject handle prolonged exposure?"

Lt. Fourteen quickly tossed the handful of earth to the side and quickly rose to his feet making his way towards the doctor in a quick dash.

"Doctor Von Hawker!" Wedge shouted. "Good to see your shuttle landed safely. Wedge quickly took the doctors bags while Gremio and Nash helped load the monitoring equipment into some trucks.

Wedge and the Doctor walked towards the compound. Surely someone would come out and meet them.

"The Kampfers landed perfectly fine. Nash and Gremio had some trouble from the G-Forces but i felt fine. I think they've been skimping on their training."

Von Hawker/Wan Fey Lo

Fourteens reaction was quiet pleasing to the doctor; the ability to adapt quickly to earth's gravity was invaluable. the land Battleship which Von Hawker had hoped to greet seemed to have not arrived yet.

"Very good lieutenant, yes yes, most welcome news indeed. I dislike earth, yes yes, don't like it at all but the war can't be won in space alone no no not just in space."

by coincidence a man was passing between the two and the compound they were heading to and he, realizing they were newcomers, stretched out his mind probing them, gently for once. The Doctor's mind was chaos at first glance but as he 'watched' for a few moments it became clear there was a bizarre order to this Chaos. Lacking time, he couldn't figure out this order and only manged to read the most prominent of thoughts but he could tell the man was and had been intently observing the younger pilot beside him.

It was this pilot, Lt. Fourteen, whom Wan's mind next probed, hoping to find the reason for the doctor's overwhelming interest...

Perhaps Wedge Fourteen was wearing too much hair gel or something, because where their should of been some kind of response from Wan's probe there was nothing.

Fourteen had noticed Wan, and quickly broke off from the Doctor and approached him.

"Hey!" He said rather casually. "We're from the R&D unit. That's Doctor Von Hawker, and I am Lt. Fourteen. Would you know who we are to report to?"

- Chris Talon -

Bian had dismissed the group shortly after answering a couple of questions and Chris went back to his machine and loaded it on the Valhalla

- Ryker, Ceres, a couple hours later -

The refit of the ship had gone well and the Ceres was in addition to being repaired, she had some improvements to help better defend herself.
The Tristan main beam gun turrets were upgraded to be able to fully rotate in whatever direction they could be pointed instead of the limited arc they were originally confined to. The entire hull had a layer of anti-beam coating similar to what was applied to the Osprey back in Gibraltar as well as several outboard mounted missile boxes that contained anti-beam chaff and anti-missile rounds.

The mobile suits had also just finished loading and the ship was ready to launch. Among the complement was Stellar and Xiu's Lions. After this mission they would no longer need them, so they were equipped with HOS Jammers to allow them to approach and infiltrate the base undetected. They were also fitted with a self-destruct mechanism that would totally annihilate the machine once they were no longer needed to prevent any technology from being captured by the Federation.

"Helm, take us out of the dock and set a course for the Federation Andes base." Ryker said.

"Yes, sir." replied the helm officer as he slowly moved the ship out of dock and into open sea where the Ceres took flight and headed for South America.

-Vallhalla Crew-

Soon after the Ceres had left the Valhalla followed suit though heading almost directly south; other than the Pilots and their mechs the Valhalla remained unchanged since it's last launch. Knowing that they would be the first to engage in combat Hallen had already chosen a team leader.

It had been a hard choice; He had eliminated Tallis, Zaine and Chris from the running for lack of combat experience while removing Lowind and the Cerberus Pilots due to their former ties with the Fandom and the possible trust issues that might carry, Sephiroth was exempted for similar reasons. That left him with three choices Alex, Gai and Natalia.

Of the three Alex seemed the most experienced but that experience was restricted to more standard warfare which was far from the group's SOP. Natalia though not as experienced as Alex seemed more flexible but the incident with Kylern's TEMJIN suggested temperament issues and a dislike of the Extra-Dimensional pilots in the group. Gai, the last of the three had the least real world experience yet he seemed adaptable enough and capable enough to lead a group like this one.

As such Gai was made the flight lead for this mission and tasked with developing a battle plan which he was hard at work composing at this very moment. He had requested that the pilots meet in the lounge before the battle.

Wan Fey Lo

Wan had hoped to pass undisturbed but the overly friendly Lt. Fourteen accosted him after Wan's probing failed to yield any information on him.

"R&D? I wouldn't know but the Garrison Commander Red Eagle has yet to come back from his latest defeat. Go ask him when ever that land Battleship returns."

the Doctor knowing no meaningful data could come of it seemed to care little for the conversation and continued towards the grey flat compound in which his makeshift lab would be set up.

-Kylern-

The Ceres had launched and they were on the way to South America. Of course Kylern was excited as could be to be able to join an operation. He wanted to fight and after being locked up for so long there was a lot of aggression to release. And despite Bian making it clear they wouldn't be able to wipe the facility out he planned to hit it as hard as possible. This including tuning the beam output on the M.P.B.L. to increase the power while deceasing the firing speed. He wanted to muscle his way through that mountain and with the Radical Zapper mode the weapon had he would achieve a pretty high powered beam output.

"I'm so excited!" He had to muzzle himself to avoid making a fool out of himself. And with his machine being remotely piloted through the M.S.B.S. he wouldn't have to worry about his own well being in the next fight. He could go all out as long as he didn't cross the 100% line and lose control.

He was standing there in the hangar looking through everything getting a feel for every unit out here. His unique point of view on this upcoming battlefield forced him to be intimate with everything or risk losing track of allies and shooting them. It was one of the drawbacks with remotely piloting a military weapon, you lost that connection to your surroundings and it would become similar to playing the VO video games again. How would he deal mentally with this all?

-Natalia-

She hadn't be decided for team leader nor cared anyways. She was just a pilot of a Guarlion and technically the weakest member of the team anyways. She was just here to exorcise her own demons physically.

The overly friendly Fourteen felt like telling the overly helpful Wan to kiss his ass. But he wasn't an idiot, and wasn't going to pick a fight for no reason.

"Thanks for the help!" He said with a nod and took off towards the a jeep Gremio and Nash had acquired. Wedge jumped onto the back bumper and clung to the pole that suspended the canvas roof. He noticed Gremio and Nash had loaded up the majority of the Dr's instruments in the back of the jeep.

Wedge glanced back at the way they had came admiring the glare of the sun before he hopped off the Jeep and landed infront of Von Hawker.

"Commander of the base is a mister Red Eagle" Wedge said wondering how someone could get such a strange name.

--Slug and Rachel--

The two meets in high atmosphere (200,000 feet), and heads towards the southwest direction, towards Aidoneus. They are racing and sustaining speeds at a little more than Mach 3, although the Ex-S seem more relaxed at such velocities.

"We're already in DC waters, Slugs," points out Rachel, making clear that at this speed it would only take a few moments until they're directly above the hive.

"Hm," Slug grunts, more fascinated looking down the ocean, forward at the sky, and upwards at the stars, more than anything. Until Slug sees something...

"Ships, Rachel," he mentions.

"Hmph, so?"

"I mean, cargo ships, heading towards DC."

The two take a closer look, using their cameras to fully zoom. Their best guess is that it is a supply ship, not necessarily weapons or other military equipment. It's not escorted by any fighters, cruisers, or mobile suits even, so it's likely not anything that they should be worried about. Still, Aidoneus is an island-fortress, so Rachel in particular takes note of this and snaps screenshots.

"Should we shoot it?" Slug mentions.

"Don't be so trigger happy," Rachel says in return, "no need to get ahead of yourself. We still have a bit more to go, so, patience, padawan."

- Red Eagle -

The Land Battleship that was currently serving as home for the AGT finally arrived back at the Hawaii base and ready to unload the machines on board that needed repair. Most notable among those were the Tallgeese and the Throne Zwei.

Charles was also in a bad mood for another reason: the loss of yet another member of the AGT in Maria Katrina Rodriguez. Her Legend Gundam couldn't be found despite an extensive search, which meant one of two things. Either she and her Gundam were blasted so badly that they sunk to the bottom of the ocean, or more likely given how close to land her last known position was that she was captured by the Federation.

On top of that, he had to deal with a less than pleased Raven Sterling for the rest of the trip back.
I don't know how much more of this losing trend I can take. Damn Gundams.

-Hawaii-

After learning that the AGT had limped into Hawaii after being driven off at Tokyo, Eljas met the Land Battleship as it landed. Intercepting Gordon on the ship, Juuso walked up and said,

"I hear that not all went as expected in Japan. You have my condolences, and my apology for my unit's inability to join the offensive. However, we have been resupplied and are ready for our next move."

While his tone was quite sincere, if Charles was paying attention, he would notice a slight, almost undetectable trace and sarcasm and mocking in Juuso's tone.

-Aidoneous-

Arriving to late to catch the ships, Jacob and Sara decided not to chase after them. Opening the cockpit hatch, the both stood up and watched the two ships disappear into the haze that plagued the tropics and finally over the horizon.

Wraith

The subs Rendezvous again after the other group had gotten a successful kill, A DC killer whale which never saw them coming. Then they received a highly encrypted transmission from Aidoneus Island; Inside was a bomb shell; the majority of the DC's ace Pilots were departing the Island in two groups. In less than an hour this was confirmed as the Ceres and then the Valhalla departed, in different directions.

Wraith immediately sent a message to his lady informing her of the situation, requesting permission to act and any possible tactical support she could provide.

-Zaine-

After finishing the systems check on the Mk. II, Zaine decided to try and figure out what those machines next to Galeon did. After a bit he gives up to spare himself a headache and leaves the hangar.

He went to the lounge, both to get a drink and wait for the battle plan to be given out.

-Byakuya-

The Steel Dragon departed the ship, and went to a part of the base where he'd hopefully find time to think.

--Slug and Rachel--

In mere minutes, the two pilots confirm visual of the island, and moments after that they can now easily see the base in all its glory, as Rachel took pictures of everything as they lowered their altitude---including the absence of the two ships.

"Taylor, Valhalla and Ceres are absent," Rachel says on the radio after getting a hold of the other major, "Please relay this information to the Excalibur and Avalon."

"Roger that."

"You know what this means, right?" Rachel asks Slug, hinting.

"...Showtime?"

"Maybe. The thing is, they probably know by now that we're here, anyways. Look at this coordinate, looks like one of the ships that you saw earlier... it's unloading rolls of alloy on the port, and straight towards the actual base, probably steel or titanium, whatever the hell they use for their robots. Snipe them down."

"Ok, descending at lower altitudes..."

...Slug lowers to around 100,000 feet and transforms into a humanoid shape, good enough for the improved beam smartgun to rain down on their opponents.

beep, beep, beep, beeeeeeeee----
Slug lines it up on the unfortunate ship and rains down a beam not massive, yet relatively focused and packing a punch, shooting the dead center of the ship, creating an explosion.

"Yep, they sure know we're up here now!" Slug exclaims as he now tries to aim for everything that looks important---hangars, stand-by mobile suits, anti-air artillery equipment, all this with the safety of knowing that there won't be seven Ceres pilots to take him down. Besides, with his altitude and power he can outrun them all, basically. " 'Just spying', Rachel?"

"Might as well reap the rewards, I know for sure they won't be able to react as well as they would like to."

((Well, like the saying goes, "Fight Munchkin with Munchkin".))

On the Aidoneus itself, a hatch opened to reveal an odd looking contraption with two distinct protrusions. The nature of the device was quickly made clear as it charged up and let loose several bursts of Cross Smasher type beam fire at the overhead mobile suits. The accuracy of the weapon was also at least equal to, if not greater than, Slug's beam smartgun.

Foreseeing the possibility of an enemy force attempting to try and drop a large object on the island from space, Bian had this defense installed to take out the chunks of whatever the DC space forces could not.
Now that weapon was being turned on the pair of Federation troublemakers that had parked themselves overhead.

Lt. Fourteen had spotted the land battleship way off in the distance before it arrived. There was no fanfare, so it was quick to assume it was returning from a failed mission. Gremio seemed a bit nervous about the whole ordeal, while Nash was held up trying to help Dr. Von Hawker get his computers set up.

Wedge quickly made the arrangements and got himself a boarding pass. Gremio, Nash and Von Hawker would stay at their tent for now. It would not take him long to find a commanding officer.

--Slug and Rachel--

Slug makes progress, making hell from above. He scored a clean hit on one ship and now aims for the infrastructure. The nature of the beam smartgun makes for a quick fire-and-reload.

Warnings on both units alarmed as the units sense lock-ons. "Here it comes!" Rachel says, preparing to dodge the incoming blasts. "I'm flying deeper, let's split up!" Rachel says as she takes her Gundam away from Slug. Slug spreads his wings and makes full use of Ex-S's speed to avoid the blasts. It was noticeably accurate, not to be underestimated, but it was nothing against a moving target. Of course this also stops Slug's attacks, temporarily. Of course, unless another one of these "contraptions" pop out, the gunners would have to decide who they want to shoot down first.

Meanwhile, Rachel dives and spins, making it hard for any lesser stationary turret to track her down, and uses the five beam cannons on her Gundam's wing contraptions against the base.

"Shoot the ships at the port, Slugs!"

"Roger!" After dodging the first wave of fire he repositions himself again to sink any supply ships that's on the port, letting loose with another wave of smartgun fire.

He had been reading the latest news on his terminal when he spotted a familiar face walking by. He quickly turned the arm unit off and hurried up beside her.

"Salut Rena. Whats up?" He asked with a smile on his face. For once he was happy since he was apart of something finally and it meant a lot to him. And if she wanted to explore this ship then he was perfect to help. He had been on this vessel before and had watched SEED Destiny. Though that was hardly a good reference and his memory was iffy these days he figured he could dig up everything if need be. If anything he could upload a map from his terminal and that would be it.

"You stoked about this mission? Old man Bian gave up permission to obliterate it if we could. That means your Buster Rifle will be of big help." Better if it was the TBR but whatever. Both could decimate anything their pointed at.

As the attacks rained down from the sky, Jacob and Sara ducked back into the cockpit and brought the Cerberus up to combat readiness. Detect one emany making strafe runs on the base, Jacob lifts the Cerberus into the air and moves to intercept.

Meeting what was now identifiable as a Federation Airmaster on a perpendicular course, Jacob launched a volley of homing missiles at the swooping suit and increased the speed to try to keep the Gundam in his sights.
