-Rena-

"Well, this is my first time on a carrier ship, so i'm exploring it to learn more about it..."

Then Kylern made the comment about destroying the base.

"Did you forget that you cut my Buster Rifle in half with your Astelion awhile back?"

"I did?" She seemed to forget that he didn't remember that event. Maybe both of them should be tested for Alzheimer. "So what are you taking into battle? The Wing Gundam only had it, two vulcans and beam sabers." Now he was worried because she would be rather defenseless for the coming battle.

"As for the ship, I can lead you around. I'm familiar with the Minerva class battleship." He offered with the same smile. Obviously the Buster Rifle thing didn't phase him.

She sighed... he forgot that too. "Well, I was hoping for a chance to get a new Buster Rifle there as well, so i'll be taking Wing into the fight.."

He mentioned that he'd help her out on exploring the ship. "You will?" Her eyes lit up with joy at that bit of news. "Would you please?"

"Well until then I suggest borrowing a beam rifle or something. Odds are there will be conflict and you'll have to defend yourself." He shrugged his shoulders. "After all I'll not be able to protect you the whole time." Even if the TEMJIN could protect anything... It was a pretty independent unit and most of its weapons were designed for one on one combat not defending others. Besides he had already decided to blow the base up if he could...

"Alright, lets get going then. Anywhere you want to go first?" He offered as he secretly pulled up a ship map using his arm terminal. He planned to cheat if he could because he didn't want to look like a fool to Rena. "Also I here Strike Zero is leading this operation but I've yet to see him. Maybe Stellar had another break down and tried to drown herself in the ocean." Of course Rena wouldn't get the remark since she had never seen SEED Destiny.

About that point her stomach growled which made her blush... "Um... Let's head for the cafeteria first..."

- Strike -

Strike Zero stood at the foot of the golden Delta Gundam. While the man was normally excitable to begin with, he currently felt even more so as the time for the mission start grew closer.

"This attack is sure to be entertaining..." he mused to no one in particular. "It's not often one finds himself on the delivering end of a Gundam-jack these days.

He paused and eyed the girl standing at his side. "Though I suppose that applies to some of us here less than others."

Xiu cocked an eyebrow. "Don't tell me you're still raw about that?"

"Not really. In fact, I'm actually glad for it. It would seem that you're skills are actually going to be of some use to us this time around."

The young thief had to agree. Her visible excitement was equal to if not currently surpassing that of Strike's.

"So, what's the plan, fearless leader?" Xiu quired. "I heard you're going to be in charge this time around. I assume we're not just going to be knocking down the front door?"

"Actually, that's more or less what we're going to be doing," Strike said, much to Xiu's surprise.

"Here's what I was thinking we'd do: We'll split the Ceres' assault force into two teams. The first will be the assault team, which I'll be a part of; we'll charge straight up the middle and lure the defense force out into the open where we'll keep them occupied. That should leave plenty of wiggle room for the infiltration team, which will consist of you, Stellar, and anybody else who's gonna be hopping aboard the Gundam-jack train; you guys will use your stealth units and sneak around the battle undetected, enter the facility unopposed, steal the Gundams and blow the place to kingdom come from the inside out. Sound good?"

Xiu nodded slowly in approval. "Not too bad. I suppose you could have come up with worse."

Strike let out a huff of indignation at that last remark, but more or less retained his composure. "In any case, we don't have much to do other than to wait for the green light for the captain, so in the meantime, you and Stellar get your Lions ready for launch."

"As if you needed to tell me," Xiu said, hopping away to do just that.

"Sounds good Rena." He motioned ahead and led the way. "To the cafeteria!" He marched on towards the dining area with a grin. He was bound to be on the Assault team and he would rather Rena be on the stealing team. He didn't want her getting shot at without any real weapons since she wouldn't survive.

She nodded and followed him to the cafeteria. Along the way, she was inwardly debating on which team she'd be a part of since her Wing Gundam had lost it's Buster Rifle. Ultimately Rena decided to ask Kylern his opinion.

"Since there's likely going to be two teams... Which team do you think I should be a part of?" She asked just as they entered the cafeteria.

--Slug and Rachel--

As the DC forces slowly but surely react, the smaller their window of offense shrinks.

Rachel was attacked from the side by a new prototype unit, and without her shotgun and her bits there's simply no point risking combat. She dodges the general vicinity of the missiles, rapidly changing directions to avoid the persistent missiles, but getting hit by one in the chest armor and one in grazed the leg. "We're done here!" She exclaims.

Slugs saw his opposition in the forum of four Barrelion AMs as he lowered his altitude to get cleaner hits. Slug's Ex-S had the range advantage, shooting one squarely in the torso and scores the hit before they get into their optimal range. However, with more AMs now launching from the ground and Rachel occupied, it was time to go.

Slug transforms into the G-Cruiser again, and with Rachel coming his way, Slug backs up by firing the four beam cannons on the G-Cruiser mode at the Cerberus unit.

"Hmm..." Had she read his mind? They had entered the cafeteria and she asked him a question to which he had been thinking of not to long ago. But as he thought it was impossible for her to read his mind since he was white washed to any prying from newtypes and the like. But he figured he could give her a honest answer.

"Well, personally... You should join the sneaky team. Reason being is you lack a real weapon and if you join that team you could steal yourself a main weapon. Or if thats unavailable you might find something else impressive to steal and use." He offered his his opinion and hoped she took it. He didn't want to see her get involved in something that could get her hurt and if he could help keep the enemy off her then that would be best.

"... I'll do that, thanks." She figured she could claim a new MS if she couldn't find a Buster Rifle. She walked over to the line to grab whatever they were serving.

He followed her but instead of grabbing something to eat he just got a carton of chocolate milk. He didn't feel like eating this close to the main event. But something came to him like a punch to the face as he realized what was aboard this ship.

"Hey Rena you know what I've always wanted to do? Learn to fly a plane... I was originally suppose to join the Air Force Academy back home but due to my eye sight I didn't qualify. I wonder if they will let me go through flight training using the VF-11? I think they have a few surviving units here and maybe a simulator laying around." He loved fighter jets and Macross had been his favorite mecha anime back home. He had even designed Kyle to live out his fantasy but now that he was here it was apparent he could fufill his dreams.

"Whatcha think? Not into battle itself, but just get some flight time down. I think it would be fun." He was starting to excite himself deep down into his bones at the thought. Yeah he had the TEMJIN which could technically fly but it wasn't a high speed fighter, nor transforming. He wanted that feeling of freedom once in his life.

She listened to his explanation and had one comment on his dream.

"That does sound like fun." After answering, she sat down at a nearby table and started eating.

- Raven Sterling, Hawaii base -

Raven was brought out of her musing thoughts about how her superiors might view her recent losing streak when a priority communication from Wraith came in on a secure channel.

It was a request for more forces to make a strike on Aidoneus with in an attempt to eliminate Bian. Looking over the plan, she found it a sound approach and approved the transfer of what air combat mobile dolls were left over from the Tokyo attack as well as the use of Dr. Von Hawker and his latest creations. The doctor would no doubt enjoy the opportunity to field test his new toys.

Raven also ordered a trio of Zamza-Zah mobile armors for the operation as their heavy firepower and defense would be crucial to the plan.

- Ceres some hours later -

The most notorious warship in the DC fleet arrived at the designated drop-off point for where the infiltration team would depart and head towards the mountain base.

Ryker had decided on having Rena accompany the team comprised of Xiu, Stellar, and any others that Strike Zero deemed appropriate. ((Last call for anyone that wants to go along on the raiding team!)) Her knowledge of the base and the most likely location of the new Gundams would be invaluable.

Rena departed the hangar in Wing Gundam, waiting a bit ahead of the Raid Party. It was carrying a beam rifle in place of it's usual buster rifle and was giving a quick look-over from a safe distance while waiting for the rest of the group.

- Strike / Stellar / Xiu -

Xiu was up next after the Wing Gundam. As her Lion modified with the HOS Jammer and the self detonation device--a machine some of the tech-heads had taken to calling a "Stealthlion" for obvious reasons--was prepared for launch, she giggled with an evil glee, excited at the opportunity to finally get to trade off for a better mobile suit. "The Great Xing Xiu here, ready and taking off!"

The Armored Module lurched forward and took off after Rena. Stellar's Stealthlion was up next. It was primed and ready to launch in no time.

"Stellar Loussier, taking off!"

Her's was quickly followed by three more of the modified Lions that would be accompanying the girls on the mission--Strike had insisted that sending three young females into the heart of an enemy base un-escorted was just bad practice, even if one of them did have skill when it came to sneaking--and the five of them quickly moved to join Rena.

Strike, who himself was resting in the cockpit of the Delta, keyed the COM. "Okay everyone, listen up. The Ceres is going to be moving on ahead to attack the base directly. Rena's team in the meantime will--"

"Hey!" Xiu interjected. "Why is it 'Rena's team'?! Why not 'Xiu's team'?"

"Because she's the only one who can lead you to where you can enter the base undetected. Until you arrive at that point, everybody fly low and follow her lead. After you're inside, then you can put your skills to work and take point."

There was no response from Xiu other than what Strike assumed were a few muffled obscenities.

"Anybody else who plans on joining them best depart now," he continued. "Other than that..."

Strike jabbed his finger forward dramatically. "Mission... START!"

"Yeah, yeah..." Xiu grumbled. She keyed the COM, establishing contact with the Wing Gundam. "Alright," she said, "lead the way, elf-girl."

-Kirie-

Next up, after Stellar, was none other than the Astray Red Frame --- with a new flight unit on its back to replace the previous one that was damaged, and a temporary field upgrade specific for that raid alone. Kirie shuffled in his seat and blinked quizzically at the previous exchange --- Xiu already arguing about wanting to be the star of the show. Besides, Kirie frowned and shrugged, it was just a formality; Kirie certainly didn't get its importance, if there was any to begin with.

Glancing sideways at the sheathed Gerbera Straight on the Red Frame's waist, Kirie caught a fleeting glimpse of the Unicorn Gundam, also parked. As he did, Kirie felt a tinge of concern well up in him --- concern which he quickly cleared, knowing that such would only serve to get him killed. Pausing and closing his eyes, a single breath was all he needed to clear his heart. Emily'll be fine, Kirie assured himself, she's always been fine by herself, right? Just focus on getting yourself out alive, Kirie.

Kirie waited for any other concerns as he then stared forward and the Red Frame stepped onto the launch catapult. There were none. Kirie nodded.

"Kirie Morgan, I'm off."

Then the Astray Red Frame zoomed forward, up, into the air, and rocketed quickly to catch up to the other members of the actual raid.

The Wing Gundam nodded in response and motioned for them to follow.

"This way." She soon started off towards the least active part of the base with the group following behind. once at a point where they could actually see the place, Rena signalled for the group to stop and focused in on where she picked up Wing; a hangar guarded by Dagger Ls and a new model she didn't recognize.

"We wait here until the Ceres draws their attention."

Despite not having senority in anything he still felt as though Strike Zero's approach to this whole thing was flawed horrible. Of course since they were the heroes it would work out anyways, but in all other instances this planned was doomed to have the girls killed. Kylern had to put his own strategic mind back and instead use anime thought in this situation and trust that the good guys had plot shielding and wouldn't suffer.

After eating he had separated from Rena and had spent some time in the Templar's valk simulator pod to kill time. He went through the newbie instruction course first... Even in real life he always did the tutorial first and this was close enough to a video game he figured it out fairly well. Besides he was familiar enough with traditional flight simulators to know what most of the buttons and gauges meant before hand.

He had barely spent an hour into the tutorial when the ship went into launch mode signaling that the operation was about to begin. This meant he had to save his progress on his terminal and pick up later. It was time to do his job and oddly it too would feel like a video game as he climbed into the TEMJIN and grabbed his gear. This included a sensor laden flight uniform that would allow him to operate the virtual cockpit controls. He also had his Direct VR imaging helmet which he pulled over his head and felt like a Martian in a sense.

"Hey Strike Zero we might want to get our asses out there soon. The Wing doesn't have stealth options and the enemy will pick them up quickly if we don't draw their attention." He yelled from almost across the hangar as he turned the helmet on and switched the controls to direct manual. With that he gave a thumbs up and the TEMJIN made the same motion. He wouldn't fight like that of course and instead switched over to virtual cockpit control and found all his stuff there ready. He could manipulate everything like he was actually in the cockpit, which hadn't been horribly difficult anyways. Virtuoids were notorious simple to pilot since they started as arcade systems.

The TEMJIN readied itself for the order to launch as its pilot took a seat and looked like he was actually in the cockpit.

- Strike -

"Indeed we should," Strike replied in response to Kylern's statement. He settled himself in and powered up the Delta Gundam's reactor, ready to launch at any time.

Soon enough, there came a report that the enemy base was in sensor range. "That's our cue," Strike signaled as he grasped the Delta Gundam's controls. "Strike Zero, rock 'n roll!"

The Gold machine thundered out the hanger bay in Waverider mode and set course for the base.

Now all they had to do was get the enemy's attention and survive long enough for the girls to complete their mission. Strike didn't doubt they could pull it off, but continued to remain ever vigilant. After all, no matter how well they planned, their missions always seemed to go awry in some way or another...
