"I wasn't invited... Plus my machine is wrecked again." He gave an exhausted sigh and lowered his head. Alex seemed confused but that was alright since his state of mind was irrational anyways. But he did look up and stare at the damaged machine again and seeing just how angry Natalia had been at him. She had pretty much trashed everything but the cockpit and the V-Converter...

"I'm beginning to wonder if I should just go home." He started not looking at Alex while he spoke. "I'm useless to everyone. I thought if I could master Trance then I could be of use but what good is that if I'm useless any other time." Everyone either seemed to dislike him or distrust his abilities. Not even Bian seemed to need him for anything which was the reason he was constantly left out of things.

Alex Bloke

"You believe your combat efficiency is too low?"

Alex did not know how to properly console someone.

"Kylern you lack the experience of the other Gundam Pilots; It is natural you would have a lower combat efficiency."

Raven

Raven had failed and was irritated by this fact. He set down with little fan fare in Hawaii. He would have to try again this time more directly; unless his master called him away.

"Still doesn't change the fact I've ruined my unit more times than I can count." He got up and walked over to the mangled TEMJIN and kicked what was left of a leg. "Damn piece of junk!" He was angry of course but in the end it wasn't the mech's fault. It was only as powerful as its pilot and Kylern had proved to only be useful at certain moments.

"Maybe I'm just not going about this right? I'm trying so hard to do what the others do and maybe I'm failing because that isn't my strength or purpose." He asked himself this as he looked back at Alex. He wondered just how he could bring about his true potential. Kyle was a VF pilot that specialized in fast assault while Kayla had been a close combat specialist. He had tried to be a general purpose all around fighter but it didn't seem to work how he wanted. Maybe he was doing something wrong.

"machines are replaceable pilots are not. More experience is gained through failure than success."

The first phrase was a fact; the second was one that had been used a by a man from his own world after a painful defeat.

"If machines are replaceable then does that mean your shit out of luck?" A stupid joke at least meant he was better. Kylern readjusted his stance and looked over the ruins of his unit he had been piloting since entering this world. If Kylern had been religious he would have left a prayer but instead he just touched the metal and closed his eyes.

"Thank you buddy for protecting me for so long." Then he turned to walk away. "Come on Alex its a long walk back home." With that he started to head back with his hands in his pockets.

-Natalia-

Sitting in the brig she propped her feet up on the wall and twiddled her thumb like the old saying said. She felt bad for destroying the TEMJIN but in a way knew it was for the best. She killed the doubt and hatred in her heart and hopefully destroyed the doubt in Kylern. They both needed strength for what was to come and once she got out she promised to make it up to the outworlder with drinks on her.

-Nowe-

He just seemed to disappear now that he wasn't needed for now like he had been before. He was a strange fellow who seemed to walk at the beat of his own drum despite being loyal to the Fandom. For now though he had nothing to do until something happened that would require his own brand of power.

Alex Bloke

Alex answered the joke as if it were a question.

"Correct"

then the two set off, Alex letting Kylern lead at his own pace...

"You know I envy your lack of emotion sometimes." He laughed a bit as Alex basically called himself expendable like it meant nothing. It was amusing in a macabre kind of way and at times Kylern felt bad for Alex. Did the cyborg really not value his own existence?

"So can you tell me anything else about Wraith you noticed besides the fact he pretty above average compared to normal people? Like maybe if he's using cybernetic implants or other cheats?" Kylern had to ask because he knew that he might run into the guy one day and it would take more than stealing Kyle's wits or Kayla's martial arts to save him. He felt though if he could get a decent mech he could handle Wraith... After all Kyle had tangled with him to a draw so why could he during a controlled Trance?

They had been walking for awhile and the hangar was coming into view.

Alex Bloke

Alex did not respond to Kylerns first statement but certainly answered the second one.

"I do not know from where he gains his extraordinary abilities. the possibility of implants is certainly there as is powered armor or other such physical enhancements. I could not guess his true nature without furthure information"

"Hmm..." Kylern scratched his head a bit trying to think it all through. "Either way it would be good to know. And Bian is working on a detection method for Mirage Colloid. I'm sure everyone is tired of having those units sneak in... That and odds are Wraith will try something again in the future. He never seems to learn his lesson." Once again Kylern was using knowledge possessed by Kyle to figure things out. So in a way he was cheating too but that didn't matter. Survival was the only outcome that mattered.

"So metal man I wonder what DC has in store for me this time? Maybe they will get sick of me ruining mechs and place me in a big super robot turtle or something." He laughed at once again another corny attempt at a joke. Surely Alex would just respond in the typical Alex way and ruin all the fun.

The two entered the base through the hangar where they TEMJIN and GN Flag had been held. And now it seemed rather empty since only the Flag was there. Natalia was also nowhere to be seen meaning she must have either gone somewhere else or been picked up by the MP for destroying his TEMJIN while he wasn't prepared.

-Light Warriors-

A few hours later, Ceres

You've returned, Kirie.

Yes, Mistress.

You've experienced much --- your eyes tell me so. I was right. One day, you shall be a fine warrior.

Thank you, Mistress.

A fine warrior...but not a Shuffle yet. Do you have an answer at last, Kirie? Why the Shuffle Alliance disbanded and vanished into the histories?

I...do not, Mistress.

Perhaps the question is a little vague, Kirie. Let me give you a hint.

...

What is the ultimate ideal for you as a warrior? For what do you strive when you fight?

...? ...I...well...

Yes?

I fight...for worthy causes. For worthy battles. For peace! As a student of Toho Fuhai-ryu, I fight to bring peace by the ideals of chivalry and justice, and---

Then you have still learned nothing yet, Kirie.

...What?

You have learned nothing from your travels, and it may be a long time yet before you do. Your training is complete long ago, Kirie; Your physical training is nearly perfect, but your mental training is lacking yet. To fulfill what you lack in your own mind and heart, this is the only thing that remains to be learned for you. Go.

...

Keep travelling, Kirie. When it comes to you, then return. Then when you understood why the Shuffle Alliance did what they did, you shall be the true King of Hearts.

Yes, Mistress.

Sulking slightly and sighing to himself at a loss at his rather brief meeting with his old Mistress, Kirie walked back into the Ceres and began shuffling through its corridors nearly aimlessly, pondering the exchange. What was he still lacking? To fight in chivalry was a worthy cause; If everyone knew nobility, there would be peace, right? As Kirie shook his head and kept walking, he eventually came across Emily's quarters, and the open door; the voices of both Black Mage and Masamune talking inside, however, was what piqued Kirie's interest and caused him to tiptoe quietly over, peering inside. "What's going---aaaaah!!!"

And immediately blush at the absolutely stunning little girl he almost didn't recognize.

"Hey, Kirie, you're back!" Emily waved and twirled once, and Kirie blinked as he walked the rest of the way into her quarters, Masamune and Black Mage standing to either side of her, arms crossed, around a wall-mounted mirror; Emily was no longer wearing her normal white-and-teal overcoat, but a high-classed, pink cotton ballroom dress and red shoes, white knee-high socks, and pink gloves. There was also a pink hairband around the side of her head, with what looked to be a pin resembling a cute yellow mouse attached to the left side of the hairband. In this ensemble, Emily looked nothing like the Unicorn Gundam pilot that Kirie was very familiar with, and add that to the fact that Julian had left the Ceres quite some time ago...

Emily giggled as she saw Kirie, suddenly looking like he was being cooked alive, pull on his shirt's neck collar a little to loosen it, and twirled herself again fancily to show off her new dress to him. "So how do I look? I'm going to an opera tomorrow, Kirie!"

"Date Masamune, next time you drag me along to shop for the girl, I will totally kill you." Black Mage growled, raising his hands and clenching his fingers. "I spent three hours standing there, waiting for Emily to play cosplayer, and walking from store to store and fighting the urge to raze every single one as I walk by..."

"Bah, shove it, Imbecile. I'm not suffering alone." Masamune quipped, and all three Light Warriors stared at their Squadron Leader, who kept flustering --- despite this, Kirie was unable to take his eyes off of Emily. "So? Standing there looking like you want to eat her is hardly a valid comment, Kirie. Say something already!"

"I, uh..." Kirie tugged at his shirt collar again. "I don't know, Emily. I've never been much for Opera."

Emily stopped showboating at once, stomped the ground in an ill humor, and sulked. "Pooh, that's what Miss Lune said, too. Looks like I'm gonna be stuck with BM or Masamune --- at least I'm gonna get an excuse to cross-class in some Perform ranks, though, and this dress gives me a +6 Enhancement bonus to my Charisma, which would boost all my Save Bonuses by another +3, and my Smite Evil..."

Black Mage and Masamune rolled their eyes in unison at Emily.

Kirie frowned. "Start from the beginning, Emily. Who're you going to the Opera with, and what time is it?"

"Oh, it starts at 1 tomorrow afternoon, and my old mentor invited me." Emily nodded. "Name's Steve Livingstone, taught me everything I knew and gave me the Unicorn when we were still in the Federation! He's nice, Kirie, if a bit overly proud of himself. After that, we're gonna grab dinner together...we were gonna invite you all and Miss Lune to go to Steve's hotel and run a small D&D adventure, get you guys acquainted with the system afterwards."

"So what happened there?"

Emily pouted. "Captain Ryker said no. He'll allow the Opera and dinner, but he didn't want me to go play D&D at Steve's hotel room."

"Probably for the best." Kirie nodded, walking forward and patting Emily on the head a few times. "Emily, Steve's probably a nice guy, but he's still a Federal Forces officer, and for the most part the Federation and the DC are at war. If Steve's been ordered to take you in, there's no guarantee that he won't do what he's been told. Just cut it short, have dinner, come back. And no matter what happens, stick close to your chaperone."

"Who is...?" Masamune began, beckoning for Kirie to go on with a raised hand pointed at him...and then immediately regretted it when Kirie and BM stared at him in unison. "Wha...don't even think about it, Imbecile! Get someone else on the Ceres to go with Emily! I'm not sitting through hours of people singing in some foreign language I'll never understand---" ._.

"Masamune, this is a perfect opportunity to tie you in with your historical self. Weren't you always fascinated by Western culture? ...Well, Western culture in your time? An Opera's pretty much the best of it, being an extremely civilized art." Kirie smiled deviously; Emily turned and blinked at Masamune. "Besides, I need to stay here in case anything happens while we're berthed in Hong Kong, since I know Hong Kong's areas in case we need to escape. And if I send Black Mage along, he'll eventually get so bored that he'll turn that Opera into that scene from the Parasite Eve video game with everyone burning."

Black Mage ^^'d at that.

"Point is, Masamune...I need a proven warrior to go with Emily, not just a pilot. Right now, since I know you, you're the best choice I know." At that, Masamune sighed, sweatdropped, and hung his head in dejection. "Just keep your eye peeled for a few hours. That's all."

"Fine. I'll do it." Masamune muttered bitterly. "Don't expect me to like it, though."

"Fair enough," Kirie nodded, and began walking out of Emily's quarters. At the door, Kirie turned around and looked at his teammates, flustering slightly as he deliberately avoided looking at Emily. Inwardly, though, his mind was reeling. ...Man, Emily looks really cute in that dress... "I'd better go see if Lune needs anything or wants to go anywhere. I'm, uh, counting on you then, Masamune. Make sure you tell Captain Ryker that you're going to chaperone Emily."

"Heeeeeey," Emily waved, sulking angrily. "Chaperone sound so...so...grown-up!"

"Well, grown-up or not, you still need one." Was all Kirie said, and then he walked out of the Light Warriors' sight and was gone.

Alex Bloke

As kylern expected Alex responded honestly to what was a joke.

"I am not aware of command making such a decision. Dr. Zoldark however may be able to answer."

They finally entered the hanger to find Chris within apparently still waiting for them or perhaps something else.

Sume Gai

As he lay there he thought of the Irony of his situation. He was now, according to the doctors, the most powerful man machine hybrid in existence but that strength came with the cost of having to lie there, useless, while new parts were integrated.

thankfully the Doctors had left him the ability to sleep even if it served little more than to pass the time.

"I swear I'm going to have Goldsburg write a joke-appreciation program for you..." He grumbled a bit as Alex ruined his fun. And it wasn't like Kylern didn't know it was going to happen but it felt so strange.

Looking around the hangar it seemed that the flag was the only thing there but the Huckebien belonging to Alex and the other one Chris had. For some reason Kylern was getting tired of seeing Huckebiens... everyone had one it seemed. But he did notice Chris just as Alex did and waved his hands at the guy.

"I'm back and suitless!" He laughed walking over towards the guy. "Freaking Natalia shot me in the back in order to prove some stupid point." His hands were in his pockets as he grumbled about it all. He was always losing something important and now it was the unit he had been piloting since coming to this universe.

"Well if it makes you feel any better, she's sitting in the brig right now because of that. What is her deal anyway? I saw you two going at it in the simulator, and she lost that one. Was this just to get even or something? That girl seems a couple cards short of a full deck sometimes if you ask me."

(ZOMG It's Phyllis!?)

-Phyllis, DC detention cell-

Phyl was sitting in her detention cell, legs crossed and right foot swinging as she stared up at the bland ceiling of the room that had been holding her for some time. She still hadn't made up her mind whether or not to join the DC, though doing the former would spring her from her cell..

But then there was the fact that she'd be betraying those that came with her to Earth to fight alongside the Fandom. Those that she still held dear to her heart.

Those that had died at the hands of the Gundam team.

With a hearty punch, she slammed her fist into the bed, tears beginning to well once again as she continued to sulk and sully herself in the idea that not only had she failed them, but now failed those that they had allied themselves with in this war. It was as if she had failed at life itself, and now was destined to rot in this cell as reward for her deeds. She wiped her tears away and cleared her throat, wiping some of her reddish hair away from her face as she rolled to one side and faced the door.

"Michael, why did you save me. Why didn't you make them kill me for who I was? Why.. What else is there for me to do?"

Phyl stood, slowly and shuffled over to the door, staring out at the hallway as personnel and guards walked past the doors while making absent chatter. She simply let out a sigh and leaned against the wall to the right side of the door, fiddling with the Fandom uniform that had now grown smelly and grungy during her time of detention..

"I think you hit the nail on the head." Kylern replied with a sigh as he sat down on a nearby ammo crate and stretched a little. "She was probably taking out her frustrations on me since I'm different from the rest of you. Not that it matters since I think she got it out of her system."

That still didn't make him feel any better about losing his unit. "But whats worse is my TEMJIN is now laying in multiple pieces out there. She sure does do a thorough job..." He tried to laugh at this but it still hurt deep inside.

"Hopefully Fandom doesn't come looking for a grudge match anytime soon. Though something in my soul tells me that Wraith is still out there unhappy about his failure." Once again he was prophesying which never turned out well.

Wraith

He surveyed the troops he had gathered. they were unfortunately rather few. The only way this would work is if the DC had not managed to return to full production of Lions. His forces consisted of mostly amphibious units called ASHes but he had managed to gather several GN-Xs. His best hope was that the forces would buy him enough time to break in find and kill Bian.

(16 ASHes, 12 GN-X's and the 008L any non Anti-Gundam Team Fandom character in Hawaii is welcome to join.)

-Jacob-

Jacob had been given his old clothes back, freshly laundered. It was somehow comforting to be wearing them again. It had been a little while since he had accepted Hakase's offer, but he had made it clear why.

I accept your offer, but I'm not doing it for your ideals or cause. I'm doing it for Sara. Not the Crusaders, Sara.

He looked up at his new unit. It had fairly standard armament of an M90 assault rifle. The more exotic weapons were mounted on the forearms. On the left was the triple vulcan unit which also housed a solid sword, coated with an anti-beam layer. On the right was a pincer called the Stag Beetle Crusher. All-in-all, a mech pretty much suited only for close rage combat. As a bonus, the red colouring was almost a match from his days as a Fandom ace. Jacobs face darkened as he thought about the day it had all changed. He shook off the dark mood, knowing it wasn't good too dwell in the past.

-Byakuya-

"Very well..." Byakuya simply replied before moving in the direction of Hawaii. I wonder what that matter is... Was one thought that crossed his mind as he moved into formation with the GOUFs.

-Festival in Hong Kong-

"Oh, my apologies. You see, the ceremony is called the Eclipse Ritual... little more than a dance. Since it'll be taking place later, you'd have time to practice... if you want to of course." The woman replied. Zaine of course, had no luck in the game he was playing at all. So he quit playing that and went back to where Tallis was, and heard what the woman said. Eclipse Ritual?... Wait. Zaine immediately rushed over to where Tallis was and gently gripped her arm. "Let's head back to the ship... we've stayed out here long enough." Zaine said before guiding her away from the Festival and back towards the ship. "I'll tell you about the ritual that woman mentioned later..." Was what he said (Not realizing he had a bitter tone in his voice) to her before letting go of her arm.

Tallis Stenner

a quick look at the sinking sun told her Zaine was right. Tallis apologized to the woman and they began the return trip.

Hallen Altair/Sylvia Ral

The new captain looked over the empty Bridge of the DC's new ship; he had a very dignified air about him. He had been told that the ship was technically complete and really only needed start-up testing.

Suddenly from outside the bridge came a simultaneous thump, clatter and "OOMPH". Hallen made his way over to the door which slid aside on his approach. In the hall he saw a young woman in an officer's uniform, sitting rather dumbfounded on the floor several clipboards at her feet. It was blatantly obvious that she had fallen while climbing down the ladder with clipboards in hand.

"Hello miss and welcome to my ship."

The girl looked up and startled tried to salute her superior while still on her rump. Hallen just offered his hand to the fallen woman who accepted and with the help stood and dusted herself off.

"I'm Sylvia Ral sir. I've been assigned as the Communications Officer."

She began to gather the fallen clip boards her face slightly red with embarrassment.

"Nice to meet miss Ral I'm the Captain Hallen Altair but please call me Hallen."

Wraith

Most of the small task force was already aboard their subs. and ready to leave. wraith watch as the last GN-X descended into the hold of one of the Vosgolov's. Now they were ready to move out.

-Ruka-

Ruka had started to mumble some things, with only one bit of words being understandable. "Miss Rachel... I did great... right?..." Was all she managed to ask before her strength gave. Slowly her world started to vanish, with the machine she was hooked up to showing a clear drop in vitals. In a few moments, The machine flatlined.

-Zaine-

As the Ceres came into view, Zaine unknowingly reached out for Tallis' hand, gently clasping it in his. "Tallis... could you close your eyes for a moment?" Zaine asked.
