-Kirie-

Kirie just blinked in confusion at Gai's comment.

"Now, why would I want to do that? It looks cool but it's impractical as a weapon. Beam Whip, sure...but Beam Sword-chucks would just lop your own arms off unless you're swinging only one side, which defeats the purpose anyway..."

--Rachel--

"For crying out loud, you have to do it better than that!" Rachel laughs out loud at the rookie's... shyness.

"But we'll have plenty of chances to get that right... Welscome to the team... hopefully you know what you're getting into," she finishes.

The odd sense of familiarity about the situation was easily dispelled by Kirie's response.

"If I told you I doubt you'd believe me; and since you realize the impracticality of such a weapon then it doesn't matter. In fact forget the whole thing."

-Ruka-

She heard the remark, and the following laughter from the pilot. Ruka just shrugged it off. "I've got a good idea as to what i'm... getting myself into." was her reply to the second remark. Ruka thought the pilot seemed in the know of certain things, So she decided to at least ask something before cutting to the point. "What's your name?... Do... You know anything about a young pilot named Zaine?" She asked the unit leader.

-Zaine-

Wonder if Ruka blames me for what happened to Risa... Zaine thought to himself. "Nah... She's not the kind of girl to hold a grudge." He said to himself before deciding a bit of Simulator practice would do him some good to get used to the new machine. He went that way, and bumped into someone, not noticing that the pendant he had fell out of his pocket.

"Can't say that I do," Rachel replies, referring to this 'Zaine' dude, "By the way, I'm Rachel Anne, I go by 'Rachel, 'Captain Anne,' "Raider,' 'Bitch', you name it, I'm fine with most of those names."

"This Zaine your boyfriend or something?" She asks as they are only minutes away from landing at the base.

Light Warriors? Hellbore was intigued. "So you four are the Light Warrior? What does that even mean?" Being a Final Fantasy nut back home, Hellbore immediately recognised then name. This probably would not end well.

-Emily-

"It probably means we all get Generic-sounding Callsigns! Ooh ooh ooh!" Emily jumped and raised her hands. "I call dibs on being the Red Mage! Well, with my jumpsuit color I'm more of a Pink Mage, but it's still a shade of red!"

-Michael-

Mike had been wandering down the halls, trying to find Goldberg's office when he came upon the gathering of Gundam and DC pilots in the hall just outside of Bian's office. As he approached, he caught the tail end of Emily's exasperated babbling about callsigns and 'Red Mages'.

"So I take it the Gundam team is no longer the 'Gundam Team' as we know it?"

Mike flopped against a wall nearby and shoved his hands in his uniform pockets, looking over to the other pilots with a smirk on his face.

Yes, it's a V8.
Yes, it was a Trans Am before there was "TRANS AM."

"HELL NO!" Ruka practically shouted at Rachel. She noticed they were coming up on the base. "Besides, he's three years younger than me, AND he's dating my little sister! ...Sorry. He disappeared along with my sister almost a year ago." She said.

"So I take it the Gundam team is no longer the 'Gundam Team' as we know it?"

"Not exactly. Kirie and Emily have been drafted into this Light Warrior group to serve as bodyguards for Lune. They're still going to be with the Ceres for now along with Masamune here and the one in the blue robes that calls himself Black Mage." Wingnut replied.

-Rachel-

She winces as she hears the rather loud response... "Eh, the drama unfolds," she muttters.

"Cleared for landing, Dusk Raiders," the tower says, and the team obliges. They all slowly transform in to MS mode and land on their feet gracefully. Japan! After all these years, it still feels like a different world. How Rachel longed to see the land, too bad she really doesn't have time for vacation.

The units are being escorted to the area; she sees another breed of transformable units---the ZetaPlus. The base must want to go on some total air-superiority crusade... "Alright guys," Rachel commands, "Head on down 4-A. We'll get--"

*flashback of Rachel tugging Slugger along for the sixth grade dance*

"--err... get resupplied there..." Headache attack? That's new. "...and maybe get a glass of cold water," she added uncharacteristically faintly. She signals everyone, including Ruka, the Dagger pilot.

He looks up outside and sees the fleet of Airmasters of various configurations. "Nice," he says, holding a pair of binoculars, "Sidewinder engines heheheh. Word's getting 'around!"

Wan Fey Lo

having reached the designated spot the Sub used it's sonar to confirm that it was alone and then began to surface. The captain was notably nervous about this operation

"Wan are you sure we won't be found? and how long do you intend us to hold out while you assemble that... thing."

"The operation will take 3 hours and yes we are safe. The jamming gear on the sub and the KMFs will be enough that we remain as little more than a fuzzy section on radar and, as your people confirmed, the DC presence in this place is free of DC subs. As I said earlier they pulled back their forces after the losses they suffered in that last battle."

Sume Gai

The mirthful atmosphere was suddenly lost on Gai. Something was out of place, or at least Gai felt that something was amiss.

"if you'd excuse me."

Gai left the group and headed for the bridge. Upon reaching it he entered.

"Sir, I was wondering; is there anything odd happening in the local airspace?"

'would soon enough really be in time?'

Gai couldn't shake the feeling something was off and the longer it went unaddressed the worse thing would be

"Please keep me informed; sir."

Wan Fey Lo

Wan's team worked quickly, the smaller KMFs proving quite good workers in the environment. As the first hour ticked by the device was taking shape; two long magnetic rails were distinguishable now.

- Ceres -

It had been nearly two hours since Gai had come to the bridge and the Ceres was finally repaired and resupplied. As she slowly moved out of the dock her almost pristine shape contrasted with the wrecked landscape of Aidoneus Island which would take longer to fix up than just one ship.

She soon cleared the dock and reached open water. "Wings to full deployment, engines to full. Ceres, take off!" said Ryker as the main drive came to life and lifted the ship into the air and towards the Asian mainland.

Gai had boarded the Gawain out of an ominous feeling hoped was nothing. As the Ceres took off he called up to the Bridge.

"Sir this is Nightchaser; is the radar still clear?"

Alex Bloke

Alex watched as the Ceres left port slowly and gracefully. He had elected to remain behind, after all, the upgrade to the 009GS hadn't been completed yet and it would be tactically unwise to send all of their Strength with the Ceres.

-Sara-

Before the Ceres had taken off Sara had boarded along with the Wildfalken. It had felt wierd introducing herself as part of the DC, but she supposed she would get used to it. She had arrived ahead of most of the Gundam Team and had spent time arranging her quarters. and packing her possessions. It turned out the the bag given to her by Hakase contained more than just her DFC suit. It also had several changes of clothes and the manual for the Falken. She felt more comfortable in the DFC suit, oddly enough, probably from wearing it so often. Also, it reminded her of Jacob, and why she was here. She made her way to the hanger to see if anyone was there.

-Hellbore-

Hellbore had also boarded the Ceres and was loitering around the hanger watching the mechanics stow various gear in preparation for the long flight ahead.

- Ryker, Ceres bridge -

"No, there still nothing out of the ordin-"

"Wait, sir. There might be something odd." interrupted the radar officer.

"It's not a radar contact, but there seems to be a dark spot on the screen and it's not a problem with the equipment as I've checked it a couple times now.
It doesn't read like conventional jamming, but more like a passive stealth system that doesn't reflect any radar signals back to us."

"Hmmm. That's definitely not something we can just leave alone. Gai, sortie out and see if you can determine what is causing this. If there is any sign of trouble, report back to the ship immediately."

- Ceres hanger -

It was a bit more crowded than usual with the Light Warrior's mechs stored there along with the normal complement of the Gundam Team, but not too much so. The attention grabbing piece sitting there was the Delta Gundam that Strike Zero had acquired. It's gold paint job tended to draw ones eye away from anything else, even from the feminine Valsione to a point.

Wingnut was sitting on the cockpit hatch of Wing Zero working on a small computer terminal hooked up to the inside of the cockpit much in the same way Heero Yuy often did. His attention was currently focused on what he could find out about the new member of the team.

Sara Klein. Cerberus co-pilot. Currently piloting the Wildfalken.
Formerly a Fandom test pilot who defected for much the same reasons we did in that she was being mistreated by her superiors and reckless handling of the Cerberus project. Possible romantic connection to Cerberus main pilot Jacob Fakin.

There wasn't really anything else to be found about the woman as she seemed not to be one to draw attention to herself. Wingnut looked up at that moment to find none other than Sara herself walk into the hanger and throw a wrench into Wingnut's theory about her not wanting to attract attention as she was wearing an outfit under a red jacket that resembled a fancy and rather revealing swimsuit more than anything else.

A few more commands into the computer brought up a possible reason why.
A control suit for the Cerberus. So why is she wearing it now?

-Zaine-

Zaine finished his business in the simulator (After wasting half an hour looking for it.) he decided to go to the hangar and take a look at the Huckbein's specs in the cockpit. Huh... It's nowhere near as nimble as the Exia... let's see what I can do. He thought after booting up the OS to see if he couldn't rewrite it to increase the mobility.

-Ruka-

Ruka was somewhat curious of why Rachel had asked if Zaine was her boyfriend. After docking her Dagger and getting out, she waited by the Airmaster that her... commander piloted and accidentally said her question aloud, "Why did you ask if I was dating Zaine?"

-Light Warriors-

"When will you be back?" Emily asked ly, the newly-formed Light Warriors standing in a semi-circle gathered around Morpheus, who stood facing them all in the center. Emily and Kirie didn't seem to mind, but Masamune looked a little pensive, and Black Mage was snorting in disdain about the whole thing. Even the fact that they'd be travelling with Lune didn't seem to lighten Black Mage's mood any. Off to one side of the hanger, on the launch catapult, was a small one-man shuttle --- black and sleek-looking, it was going to be the means by which Morpheus left.

"When my current mission is finished, I'll come by and see how you're all doing." Morpheus simply said, his expression blank. "Remember, Emily, you and Kirie have joint authority to override any standing orders if Lady Lune's life and safety requires it. Keep in mind that Lady Lune's a free spirit and won't take well to being overridden, so don't abuse it."

Emily and Kirie nodded in unison. "Got it," Emily piped up.

"Now, Kirie. The Musha Gundam's weapons and certain parts of its armor were made of a rare metal, it seems, that came from a meteor that fell to Earth some time ago, so it's going to take quite a long while to repair it; By that time, the technology might even be developed to allow your full potential to be manifested. We've taken the Musha Gundam for now, see if there's anything we can do for it; For now, you and Masamune will be using those."

Morpheus pointed to the far side of the hanger where two new machines --- Gundam-types, but looking sleeker and more foreign than some other conventional Gundam designs --- now stood. Both Gundam looked similar to each other, although one, slimmer and looking faster, was painted red; The other, somewhat bulkier, was painted blue. Masamune blinked in stunned silence for a moment as he stared at the two Gundams, and then turned to Morpheus and pointed at them with his right hand. "...What...what are those?"

"The Gundam Astray Red Frame, and the Gundam Astray Blue Frame Second L." Morpheus answered. "Their performances are similar to each other, while the Red Frame is sleeker, the Blue Frame is more versatile. Kirie, you'll get the Red Frame; Masamune gets the Blue Frame. These machines may be temporarily until I can find something more suited for you both, but take good care of them nonetheless."

"Right." Kirie nodded.

"Fine." Masamune frowned, shaking his head.

"Black Mage, behave yourself around Lady Lune and your teammates. They're going to be watching your back, so watch theirs. Don't go gunning around and forget entirely about them."

"No promises. If those Fandom or Feddies look like they deserve a good round of face-stabbing, I can't promise anything." Black Mage waved a hand at Morpheus in a dismissing manner, looking passively at the Wing Zero in the distance; Morpheus didn't react visually. "What can I say? Stupidity must be punished."

"Hmm." Morpheus ed his head once, finally turning to Emily, who was jumping a little with excitement. "You'll be fine, Emily. Just stick to what you know and do what you do best. Don't worry so much about rolling low."

At that Emily, said nothing; She nodded meekly.

"Is there anything else?" Morpheus asked, and when neither of the four answered, Morpheus smiled, nodded again, and walked casually away towards the shuttle. Moments later, the shuttle rocketed off of the Ceres, leaving the Light Warriors to stare behind him for awhile. Finally, Emily yawned and began walking away, stretching her arms; Back to the Ceres and on a new Quest. Good cause to be happy.

"Well, I'm gonna go find Miss Lune, see what she's up to," Emily cooed, beaming to herself. "Kirie, make sure BM doesn't go around ganking NPCs at random, okay?"

Kirie just blinked confusedly at Emily as she walked away.
