"I'm glad you do. Could I ask you a favor miss?" He started showing his US southern accent in his 'miss'. "Could you have some of the armor fixed? Until its repaired to decent operation the limiter won't let me turn on the V Converter. Its a silly failsafe that prevents me from blowing the units up... hehehe..." He laughed nervously thinking about what would have happened if he had turned of the limiters in this battle. He would have been turned to ashes by the meltdown of the V crystal. that would have ended his short but dramatic career in this universe.

Then Gai showed up again demanding he get checked out. Once again Kylern tried to brush it off because he didn't want another doctor to poke or prod him. The doctor/scientist back at DC HQ had already run all sorts of experiments on him. But he finally decided to at least get a bandage placed on his head and some powerful pain killers.

"Fine I'll go but the second they try to put me to sleep or stick me with a needle I'm out of there. I'm tired of people trying to put me to sleep after a battle." He was serious... DC constantly tried to put him under after he went off the handle and fought without regard for himself. He would sleep when he wanted not when some white clothed nutcase decided it was time for him to sleep.

'Tch, that guy. I'll make sure you kill him next time we meet.' Zangetsu thought as he went over to Gai and the others. "So, who is this mad men who refuses medical treatment?" he asked the bloodied man.

"Me mad?" He asked as someone else showed up. Upon closer inspection he realized it was Zangetsu. Of course Kylern wouldn't say anything since he was finding a link between his metagaming and temporary blanks in his memory. So if he didn't speak about it he wouldn't feel pain.

"Can't say I am. I just don't like doctors..." He really didn't. He hated needles, drugs, feeling powerless, and above all he hated their rubber gloves. Maybe he was crazy? But then again everyone had their things they didn't like and his were doctors and oddly clowns.

"Besides why do you care, I'm not a Federation soldier. Technically we aren't even allies last time I checked." He struck this up with a slight hint of hostility. He had fought against the Federation in the Pacific as well as Fandom. Neither of them were allies but people standing in the way of true peace.

"Since you fought along side us and defended us you are an ally, at least for the moment. However, if you should do anything to harm the people on this ship I'll have Zaraki kill you." he said to the bloodied man. "But, thats not the case, so hows about we start over." he said rasiung his hand. "My name is Zangetsu, pilot of the Gundam Sonicscream. How do you do?"

Sume Gai/Tallis Stenner

Tallis nodded at Kyle's request

"I'll try but I'm not too familiar with the..."

That was the moment Tallis finally saw the Valsione she entered Total Fangirl Mode marked with a shriek of delight and faster than anyone thought possible she was at the Valsione's feet...

Gai decided not to coment but rather turned to Kylern

"don't worry she'll do the work. Now then, Zangetsu help me get this guy over to medical"

with that Gai began to lead Kylern to medical keeping an eye on their wobbly guest.

"just be glad you came -after- we got rid of the crazy doctor his replacement is an alright guy."

Tallis Stenner

Tallis coudn;t help her excitement never had she seen a mech quite like it;

Oh hell... Zaine thought as he remembered a failsafe the engineers built into his Exia. I've got to make enough of a racket to get someone to come so i can warn them about the auto-destruct! He then proceded to pummel the cell door, hoping somebody would hear the noise.

An officer came to see what all the fuss was about. "what the hell's going on here?" Zaine was relieved to see someone. "You gotta let me out. My MS has an auto-destruct system that'll activate soon! i gotta shut it down or at least get it away from here!" the officer didn't seem to believe him at first, but an alarm sounded, indicating a problem on board."You sure it'll Blow?" the officer asked."Would i heave really made that racket if i wasn't sure?" Zaine countered. "All right... but seeing as how i don't trust you i'll escort you. if this is a bluff, you'll get a bullet in the head. Am i clear?" he nodded to the officer, and was escorted to the hangar where his Exia is and a high-pitched whirring sound could be heard. Damn...
he made a run for the Exia and got inside the cockpit to input the override code and managed to stop the whirring before the particles would come out indicating the unit was going to blow.

"Well, I'll tell you one thing, Leon..." Black Mage growled. "I'm not fighting for that ditzy twit Raven Sterling and doing what she wants because she's jumping and screaming obscenities, and I will absolutely not be her scapegoat so she could escape her failures. How many times do I have to tell you this, pretty boy?"

"Fascinating," Leon replied. "Although, you still haven't answered my question."

Leon swerved the Sturmvogel left and right, dodging around Black Mage's shot with an intricate series of acrobatics. As he did so, he continued, "You've always been a mystery. Try as I might, I never could figure out what you were thinking behind that gigantic hat of yours. So I'll ask you again... what are you fighting for?"

As soon as the fifth shot had passed, he snapped the machine into fighter mode and made a straight head-on charge towards the L-Gaim, firing his laser cannons and a volley of over a dozen missiles as he approached.

Leon cast a grin. "I want to know whether or not I'd feel bad about sending you back to hell."

A mere second before it seemed as though he was going to crash into Black Mage's machine, he transformed back into Battloid mode again, and let loose another Pin-point barrier punch, aiming to relieve Black Mage of his Power Launcher with a vicious left hook.

-Emily-

Eventually, the Unicorn Gundam, Valsione and Musha Gundam touched down on the Ceres as well, and the former and latter quickly took their orderly, original places on the ship. Emily unstrapped herself happily after bringing the Unicorn into a halt; All in all this had been a good day for her, sure, she never got to see the Stat Block for the Killer Whale, but she's made two new friends and by the time they got to Aidoneus Island she'd probably level up. This time remembering to use the winch, Emily then opened the cockpit hatch, winched herself down, and planted her feet on the deck.

Back to the boring, already-seen, messed-up Ceres...

When Emily saw that Kirie hadn't made his way out of the Musha Gundam yet --- and realized that he wasn't going to for quite awhile, but that was quite alright with her because Emily sensed that Kirie needed the time alone, and it was going to help him --- she gave everyone a big wave (pausing to titter at Tallis' pink-colored text and hearts in her eyes) and sauntered over to the Valsione, and Lune, waiting for her to come on down as well.

-Kirie-

Seated firmly in the Musha Gundam's cockpit, fists clenched, eyes closed, Kirie was indeed thinking. He wasn't going to be out anytime soon --- as Emily predicted.

That wasn't the same Masamune...and here I thought I've actually made a difference, I've actually convinced him to think on what is important. What happened? How did I get defeated so easily?

Kirie thought on the previous battle, how Kylern and his words had no effect on Date Masamune, how easily Kirie had been beaten.

Was it something about his machine?

Kirie thought on the appearance of the same Exia that was now on board the Ceres. That had saved Kylern.

No...it has to be something wrong with me. Never blame anyone for my own failings. Masamune beat me because I let him.

Kirie thought of how, in comparison, Emily and Lune had managed to fend Masamune off.

Was I not strong enough? Was I too naive?

Kirie thought.

Can I win at all?

Kirie thought.

No!

Kirie's eyes opened then, bloodshot, burning.

I will not be discouraged. I am both --- I had thought myself adequate, and my hubris had cost me dearly. It won't happen again. I shall fix that.

Kirie straightened himself.

I must become stronger, mentally and physically.

His fists clenched tighter.

I must beat Masamune and his machine.

And tighter.

I must beat the Fandom no matter what they throw at me.

And tighter.

I must defend Emily, Lune and the Ceres from anyone that wants to hurt them.

At this point, Kirie's fingertips had cut into his palm, drawing blood that flowed down the cockpit seat rest. Kirie was now lost in determination, his own vow.

I must fight.

Kirie thought.

I *can* fight.

Then as he looked down, at his teammates, Kirie smiled. He felt no pain.

I will fight.

And his eyes blazed at a distant memory.

Because...

The back of Kirie's right hand suddenly glowed brighter, and brighter, and enveloped the Musha Gundam's cockpit with the burning, red light from Kirie's inner spirit, as if welding something onto the back of his hand.

The tattoo of a red heart enveloped with swords.

Because I am the King of Hearts.

- Ceres hanger -

It was getting crowded in the hanger rather quickly. Fortunately they just had the extra space to accommodate them all.

After parking the Over Flag Wingnut headed over towards Lune and Emily to check on their status... only to note that someone had gotten there first.
"It's SO CUTE!"

Now where have I heard that before? thought Wingnut sarcastically.

The newest addition was a green Huckebein that was just landing as Wingnut reached the Valsione and it's pilot.

"I think you'd need to read the manual before working on this one, Tallis."

Lune meanwhile was checking on Emily.
"Hey, thanks again for saving me back there. I would like to ask you one thing though. What is this Zero you mentioned when we were fighting that mobile suit? Was he the enemy pilot?"

((Cybaster, Wingnut will jump in on Emily's attempts to explain it to Lune so you don't need to describe it fully to Lune just yet.))

-Black Mage-

"Now, see, pretty boy, if you have to ask that, there's something you don't quite understand here."

Black Mage otherwise wasn't impressed by Leon's fancy stunts and acrobatic flying, and his facial expression hadn't changed (not that it seemed they could change much to begin with, anyway) --- even when Leon dodged all five shots Black Mage sent his way.

"You don't know about me because I don't want you to, numbnut. Do you think I would've told you already if you were meant to figure me out? I told Bian, he wasn't completely okay with random Feasts of Destruction but hey, at least he *understood* what I strived for, and gave me free reign to tear you and your Fandom boys apart just the way I liked it. Heeeey...there's a slogan I could use if I didn't like being in the DC and wanted to be a gun-for-hire. 'Black Mage: Death and Destruction, Just the Way You Ordered It'. What'd you think?" ^^

The lasers Leon sent Black Mage's way were not a concern; The L-Gaim's innate Beam Coating deflected them easily, scattering them away in all directions. The missiles proved more troublesome, however, and forced Black Mage to strain his flight controls, pushing the L-Gaim back, spinning his two-bladed Lancer around in defensive circles and exploding them just in front of the Heavy Metal, some pieces of shrapnel cutting into the L-Gaim's frontal armor in small holes.

Then Leon's real attack came in his Pinpoint Punch, and Black Mage smiled.

"Too bad I *do* like being in the DC and serving one of the last great Titans in this Earth Sphere, Leon, so your words are kinda wasted, sorry. And see, there's another thing I've been meaning to teach you, pretty boy. Your unit might be fast, but at this range?"

The Sturmvogel transformed, came at Black Mage's right Power Launcher, and swung the PBP at it --- at the same time Black Mage finally moved the left arm again, swinging a certain something in its hand at the Sturmvogel's midsection point-blank, and detonated it at extremely close proximity to both units, right in between them.

The L-Gaim's second, and last, S-Mine.

Despite his appearance Kylern could be a very scary person when he was in the mood and the fact Zangetsu threatened him put the 20 yr old in a new mood. He turned his head to look at Zangetsu with a twisted smile that wasn't meant to be nice. It was more like a come and get if you dare type smile.

"you know its not nice to threaten people especially those you don't know. But I do know you and your little scitzo friend Zaraki, oh yes I do. So I suggest you watch your tongue when talking to someone you don't know." He spoke in a soft voice to match his smile. He was almost daring Zangetsu to throw a punch because poor injured Kylern had a secret. He had watched this guy fight before from the outside and that coupled with his anti-newtype abilities made him a very dangerous opponent for the guy that relied so heavily on a alternate personality.

But that was done and Kylern completely disregaded Zangetsu as he shifted to his own weight and walked on his own. "I know a bit about crazy doctors myself. That guy at DC seems to think I'm an interesting fellow if you catch my drift." Kylern shifted his smile to one of pleasentry as he walked towards the infirmary with Gai.

-Emily-

Emily's smile faded slightly at the memory of the feelings she had sensed from the Efreet Custom.

"No...that pilot who liked to say Imbecile a lot was named Date Masamune, someone the Fandom had portalled in. Kirie knew him, Miss Lune; He used to fight Masamune all the way back in the Japanese front, I guess Kirie didn't like him because Masamune was too arrogant and self-centered, but until back then there was still some good and nobility in him. I think he's generally a 13th level PC...Samurai with two levels of Blackguard, if I read him correctly. That Dark Blessing ability gives him pretty high saves for a Fighter class.

"But Zero...I think that's what Masamune was sharing his mind with in that machine, Miss Lune. And it's kinda affecting Masamune for the worst, too. It doesn't care about anyone so it makes Masamune not care about anyone, either. The Zero System..."

"Thanks for the software, Antonio. Maybe it can make piloting easier by just talking my ass out heh," Slug says inside his unit, not caring about the pilots down below.

"Don't worry about it. Be careful though, it only has a preprogrammed commands at the moment, you can make your own however. How's Ceres, anyway?"

"FABULOUS. As in, different colored mecha of different sizes, plus we have a kidnapped GN unit here. Maybe I can hijack it, heheh," Slug notes, "Some of the personnel may seem like oddballs, too. Alright, I think the unit is still in good shape, you don't have to follow me too close. later."

"Power off," he says, the ZetaPlus dims its eyes.

- Wingnut -

Wingnut was sort of eavesdropping on Lune and Emily's conversation when he heard them mention something very familiar.
So they're using that are they? Guess they got it out of that Epyon that one guy was using.
Emily seemed to be at a loss to effectively describe the thing to Lune so he stepped in and almost direct quoted an intro he heard many times.

"Zero System. A cockpit system that quickly calculates battle data and feeds the large amounts of stats on estimated values directly back to the pilot. But this system also drives a pilot to his limits. To the extent that he won't even fear his own death. Thus helping him gain absolute victory, or absolute defeat. It also has the nasty side effect of driving a pilot that can't handle it totally mad and usually ends up killing them if they keep using it."

Surprised, Lune asked Wingnut "So Masamune was using that to fight us with?"

"Yeah, it can also allow a pilot to "see" an opponent's attack before it happens, almost like a newtype reaction, but instead of just showing the incoming attack and leaving it at that, the Zero system might show the pilot being hit by it instead of dodging it. It all depends on the pilot's mood."

-Emily-

Emily shuddered at Wingnut's description of the Zero System and thought carefully about Masamune's movements in the previous battle. That seemed to fit; It also seemed to explain how Kirie could get the better of him before and then all of a sudden falter. But Emily absently hugged herself, biting her lip, as she thought about Wingnut's words about the side effects --- some of it had already started.

Nodding, Emily looked back up at Lune and Wingnut. "Yeah, it's already started to affect him. He doesn't realize it yet but Zero's driving him. The next time we see him, Masamune might be even more brutal and callous...

"---Hey, I wonder what would happen if we plugged that thing into Black Mage over there?" Emily suddenly pointed outside, seemingly deciding to lighten the mood a little, and shrugged. "Probably nothing, since Black Mage's already so messed up. I bet if Black Mage used it the Zero System would be too creeped out and just blow up! Don't you think so, Miss Lune?"

Zaine looked in the direction of the Zeta Plus, but wasn't sure if the pilot was still in it. So he decided to find out... "TRIGGERHAPPY LUNATIC!" Zaine shouted to the ZetaPlus, hoping the pilot heard him.

Opening the hatch a little bit to see what's up, as he thought he heard someone shout... "Oh... you. Uhh May I help you?"

Slug really don't even know that this is Exia's pilot, as evidenced by this guy wandering around the hangar and not locked up in some dark chamber.

Gai finally reached the infirmary and found the doctor had just recently finished dealing with the four from earlier.

"Hey doc could you take a look at this guy real quick he seems to have had some rough days recently"

(you take it from here Kylern)

Tallis Stenner/Alex Bloke

Tallis found her self uniquely oblivious to everything but the Valsione even as the 009GS set down in an empty berth. As Alex disconnected it happened again; his system reported an error in his emotional repression circuits. This time he had to run several diagnostics to get the system working again.

He exited the machine by simply jumping out landing with a loud thunk on deck. he had heard Emily's suggestion and found it rather ludicrous.

"I'm afraid That is an unlikely outcome Miss Stormgunner."

Slugger looks up to the guy, only to get whacked up in the head.

"Ok, I have seen stranger things," he comments to himself as he goes back to his unit.

"Let's see... Radar on... hmmm uh?" He saw things that aren't quite from the Federation. What's going on here...
