I'm not sure it'll deal with the quintessons and such - in the movie intro, Optimus stated very clearly that the Allspark's origins were unknown, short-circuiting the possibility of introducing the Quintessons as ousted creators of the Transformers. Unless, of course, they come back and the 'bots have all forgotten about them - which I find highly unlikely. Moreover, I'd prefer that Bay, Orci and the rest would keep the Allspark's specs and history as shadowy as possible. People from Hasbro were, according to the DVD commentary, opposed to the 'size shift' capabilities certain characters could display (like Megatron transforming into a Lüger 9mm or someone else into real life-sized audio cassettes),
save for the Allspark, in order to give it almost
divine, supreme properties.
I've the hunch that if they're going to delve into the Allspark's past, they'll pretty much destroy the idea that the Autobots were born from an alien artifact come out of nowhere.
Theory=1Megatron was infected by a higher power
2Fusing with the all spark corrupts the all spark
3Rebirth as Galvatron a demi god/ herald serving his masters.
The first theory is most appealing to me, as the second, well, it'd contradict what Ratchet said - the Allspark is raw power, not something you'd try to take on head-on. Of course, I surmise there are ways to tap into its power pool without suffering from catastrophic meltdown like Megatron learnt in spades but I guess the scenarists will go for something like a freak accident that rewrote Megatron's spark and imparted him with 'impure' feelings. Also, it is interesting to note that all machines 'converted' by the Allspark into Autobots are, by default, aggressive, as if the Allspark couldn't produce anything but belligerent byproducts.
Maybe there's something to dig up in there - but the Hasbro staff and production members said that they were rather interested in Constructicons and Dinobots, so I guess we'll be in for other mechs coming in. I can easily see Constructicons piling up to build that aircraft carrier Bay was so hung up on. Likewise, having the Stunticons report for duty would, I believe, give Bay a merry reason to blow up or trash more cars.
Even if I'm slightly deterred by too much action, I must say that Bay knows his stuff when it comes to chaos. Give the man some credit - there's no one who can pull it off as well as him. But since, as I said, he'll lend more focus to the Autobots' demeanor and characterization, I think he'll downplay the action somewhat....unless it's for T2's final showdown.
2If Galvatron appears he must be a completely different TF i.e. no cheap recolours. He must also be intellegent enough to plot and plan but an insane and unstoppable warrior
Uh-uh. With his chest looking like Mt Etna on a peaceful day, I'm not sure Megatron can come back unless the Decepticons find a way to restore his busted spark. BUT, considering that Jazz might have a chance to be resurrected (once again,
beware, I'm just basing myself on the movie-class toylines here - so the info might
not be legit but I'm mentioning it for the argument's sake), there is no reason for Megatron
not to follow suit...especially if the Decepticons manage to steal the Allspark fragment.
3If the human militaty is to appear there must be no crappy exosuits- If they are to have access to cybertronian technology
I don't think they'll need to develop further weapons - after all, sabot rounds and missiles like the AMRAAM seem more than enough to dispatch Decepticons. Heck, two F-22s flying nap-of-the-earth and a special operative equipped with a grenade launcher single-handedly busted Megatron's largest lackey (Blackout), so I guess they'd be fine with what they have right now...provided, of course, that their weapons are allowed to connect with the targets. Those robots are so agile they can nullify the hypothetical supremacy an uber-weapon could provide.
Moreover, Sector 7 was terminated and they disposed of the Decepticons' remains in the Laurentian Abyss...so I guess they won't be making R&D anytime soon. They seem more preoccupied with burying the truth and keeping things under control rather than initiate an arms' race.
As far as appearences
1Combiners are not my favourite but if they are to appear the Decepticons should have any of their numerous options (realistically the combaticons are the ideal choice) and the autobots should have -----------none. This was the best part of the DW Generation 1 comics, seeing optimus and magnus take on devastator and menasor respectively.
2The autobots should not have any kind of leadership until a hero appears to lead them e.g. Magnus or maybe a japanese leader eg Starsaber ( No Brainmaster and not necessarily the small jet mode)
3If the dinobots are to appear Grimlock should be modelled after the comic books rather than the idiot from the show. Also they don't necessarily have to be dinosaurs.
They already stated they were
interested in exploring the Constructicons concept but this is as good as any promise - you never know whether it'll become reality until they go on a mediablitz. In one of the DreamWorks-sponsored viral sites (that one was a fake Sector 7 site), there were vids of small insecticons and a mechanical T-Rex stomping through a parking lot, but it's no official confirmation IMHO. Merely eye candy to keep us interested for the time being.
4NO masters of any variety
5I personallly think that Arcee should not appear but she probably will as I recall reading a DW prequel in which there was a distinct gender difference between the transformers.
Arcee
did appear in one of the movie prequel comics - where they explore the circumstances behind the Allspark's loss. In that book, Bumblebee was a squad commander tasked by Optimus to provide diversion while the others (at a city called Tyger Pax IIRC) launched the Allspark in space so that Megatron could not seize it. And among the team members was Arcee.
But I think we should consider the comic books the same way we should look at the Astray mangas - they can stand on their own without blatantly affecting the main story AT ALL.
