Yeah, I'm listening to "Calling to the Night" myself. Great song, best track for Metal Gear Solid, and I also think it'd work for Zone of the Enders too.

That song just works for any kind of mellow scene, regardless. That song was practically running through my head while finishing up my sketch, which, not coincidentally, was inspired by that scene with Elisa and Big Boss.

Jackson Browne - Lives in the Balance

Political commentary, awesome lyrics, awesome music, awesome use of Andean pan pipes, awesome voice, just sheer awesome. In my ears.

It was written back during the Iran-Contra scandal in the Reagan administration, but it remains awesome twenty years later.

'What's Up, People?!' by Maximum the Hormone featured in the anime Death Note. That song has been stucked in my head ever since.

I'm listening to a bunch of System of A Down's more aggressive music. It helps to get rid of some of my more violent thoughts. I really like how the band goes from soft and mellow to loud, violent, and in your face. Play Attack when your in the car with some friends who aren't used to SOAD's style and you'll get a few laughs when they jump.

'Glass Shatters', by Disturbed. Yes, I have a wrestling theme in there. I like listening to wrestling themes. Maybe I'll listen to 'Sexy Boy' next, just for the sake of cheap nostalgia. :P

The cover of Don't you want me baby from the Reel Big Fish/Zolof the Rock and Roll Destroyer Split CD. Duet all night long. It's beautiful....the chance of my two favourite bands in the world joining forces and creating a cd of pure orgasmic delight is something that should happen to everyone.

Bruce Springsteen - Worlds Apart

Not sure how to describe it in such a way as to fully do it justice, but it definitely doesn't sound like your old time rock and roll.

Sarah McLachlan's live performance of her old song, Possession. The song can seem 'mushy' when you listen to the words... and I was in a 'mushy' mood anyways. ;p

Hank Snow - Ghost Trains

It was early in the fall and a-blowin' up a squall
From the trestle you could hear the weirdest moans
With a mighty lonesome cry came a whistle from the sky
And it chilled the very marrow in my bones
Then a loud, rushing roar, like you never heard before
Turned the blood to icy water in my veins
As I watched with rising fear, something strange was drawing near
And I saw in the clouds ghost trains

Ghost trains, ghost trains, what a fearful sight
The Cannonball and Number Nine were racing thru the night
Just as they passed me by, I heard the engineer cry
Give her coal, give her coal, shovel it on
You could see the fireman grinnin', in the engine that was winnin'
But I knew before the finish they'd be gone
But he knew before the finish they'd be gone

You could see the driver's roll as they shoveled on the coal
And the black smoke came pouring from the stacks
As they thundered thru the sky, I am here to testify
You could hear the wheels a-clickin' on the tracks
Thru the smoke and the steam, you could see the headlights gleam
Now I have no proof, but still the fact remains
You may doubt it, but I swear, there were cinders in my hair
When I saw in the clouds ghost trains

Ghost trains, ghost trains, what a fearful sight
The Cannonball and Number Nine were racing thru the night
Just as they passed me by, I heard the engineer cry
Give her coal, give her coal, shovel it on
You could see the fireman grinnin', in the engine that was winnin'
As I watched I saw them fade into the dawn
As he watched he saw them fade into the dawn
Be alert. The world needs more Lerts.
