Way back in the Middle Ages - right about 2006 A.D. - we had a thread called "Meet Your Mods". I figure it's time to resurrect the idea, particularly since we've got new moderators on the team and a lot of the info is now way out of date. Cribbing from the last thread's intro a little here: To make sure we don't appear as evil, hateful lurkers that only ban people and lock threads, we have created this wonderfully interesting topic for discussion. We'll tell a little bit about ourselves - real life and internet life, combined with whatever else seems interesting. Mods will (re)introduce themselves one at a time, leaving some space between profiles and list of turn-ons so that people can ask questions. Everyone is encouraged to go ahead and ask us anything they want. If you'd like to leave a comment, that works too. Don't be shy. Pretty much anything that's within the rules is fair game. I'll post my updated profile after class this afternoon. Ah, I remember doing this. We never did get Chris to go after everyone else last time. Maybe that will change this time around?

Name: Ash Abendroth
B-Day: October 10, 1986
Hometown: Bay City, Texas
Currently Living In: Houston, Texas
Education: BS in Criminal Justice from Texas A&M University at Corpus Christi, currently studying Law at the University of Houston Law Center (top tier law school, biznatch). Should get my Juris Doctor in 2013.
Car: The very same crappy maroon 1996 Dodge Stratus ES I had in the last thread in '06. It's missing a side mirror already, and I'll drive it until it falls apart like the Bluesmobile.
Things of Interest: I'm related to Major James Collinsworth, signer of the Texas declaration of independence, aide-de-camp to Sam Houston, secretary of state, senator, and first Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Texas. To follow that up in 1838 he ran for president of the republic and then got drunk and fell off a paddlewheeler and drowned in Galveston Bay. The Texan Aristocrats!
Oh, and there's that whole "running a successful Zeta Gundam RPG since 2006" thing too I guess.

I signed up on the old message boards in May 2002, but had been using the main site for mecha profiles before that. Fantasy and Animation Headquarters. The original name for MAHQ. A long, long time ago. I don't even remember which year they changed, or if it was before or after they inherited Burke Rukes' Big List o' Mecha, which used to be known as Mecha Domain.

The site switch from FAHQ to MAHQ in 2002. I don't remember when Burke Rukes's stuff was inherited, but it was definitely before the name change.
Back then the site covered both sci-fi and fantasy, but gradually shifted to focus on the former.

What is the nuttiest thing you've ever had to get involved with as a mod?

There's also the KLAC, but I'm not trying to fill up Fritz's MYM week with talk of stuff that happened a million years ago. * * * Fritz, will you be posting cat pictures for every mod entry? I'd be very grateful :3

Just to give more exact dates, FAHQ inherited Burke Rukes's stuff and started hosting it in August 2001, while the name change to MAHQ occured on February 12th, 2002. I know those dates will make some of us feel a lot older.
