So I stumbled upon some info about this thing called "UVB-76" which turned out to be a Russian Number Station that's been active since the Cold War. Ever since then it has repeated a single buzzing, monotonous, note 25 time a minute for an hour with interruptions far and few between.. Well, to put it simply, It creeps me out. I decided to post about it today because on September 1st the radio station apparently stopped broadcasting for a few days or something. It resumed after a week with even stronger broadcast signal than before and apparently it is really strong.
Here is a Youtube Sample of the Buzzing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-2EKWgTN ... re=related
And a link to a site that follows UVB-76's actions: http://uvb-76.blogspot.com/
If you guys know some cool stuff about it, please share. Or if it creeps you out like it does to me, go ahead and say so too

Not to go off topic, yet someone made the ominous buzzing of UVB-76 into an ominous sounding remix http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VovcGCiNS1A

Re: UVB-76 "The Buzzer"
These stations are everywhere, in fact. Most are believed to be a way of covert communications, like something from an old spy movie. Some turn out to be something more mundane, but the UVB is particularly prolific in its activity. It hasnt been caught doing much but buzz for a very long time. Until recently, there are 7 recorded transmissions from it. And now, its transmissions are VERY strong and frequent. Who knows?
As an aside, I've actually worked on one such station in the microwave band, but I cant say much more, as I dont know more.
