It looks like were going to get so many characters im so excited I wish I knew more about Transformers cause im quickly finding out I know pretty much nothing lol.

I counted a total of 11 fireballs. And given that they're mostly crashing into stuff, I'd have to say they're probably mostly Decepticon (except maybe the four that crashed in Giza, next to the pyramids).

And one is possibly Starscream, so that's at least 10 new guys (and gals). Apparently Barricade (Decepticon police car in first movie) might be back for the sequel. So, looks like the 'Cons will outnumber the Autobots quite a bit.

This movie looks awesome. I can only hope its as good as the first one. The new Decepticons if they are decepticons look very different than anything we've seen before. But its different in a good way. I have a feeling the transformer with the giant unicycle wheel is going to lead to a long drawn out epic battle.

The list of Transformers that will appear in the new movie has been released:

RATCHET: Medic - Hummer H2.
BUMBLEBEE: Friend and mode of transportation for Sam Witwicky - 2010 Chevorlet Camaro.
ARCEE: A female Autobot - motorcycle.
SIDESWIPE: A Lamborghini in the toy line, here he transforms into a silver Corvette Stingray concept car.
JETFIRE: An older Decepticon who switches sides - SR71 Blackbird jet.
JOLT: The original toy was a Decepticon, but in the movie he's a good guy - Chevrolet Volt plug-in hybrid.
SKID & MUDFLAP: a.k.a. "The Twins" - Chevrolet Beat and Trax concept cars.

DECEPTICONS
STARSCREAM: Formerly Megatron's second in command, he escaped at the end of the first movie; F-22 Raptor jet.
SCORPONOK: The mechanical scorpion that attacked the American troops in the desert.
THE FALLEN: One of the original Transformers, he's called "the most elemental bad guy" by the screenwriters.

SOUNDWAVE: A cassette player in the original toys; his alternate mode will be a communications satellite.
RAVAGE: A four-legged, cat-like robot.
THE DOCTOR: A spider-like crawling robot.

DEMOLISHER: One of the Constructicons that transform into construction vehicles.

I do think it's cool that Jetfire is a Decepticon-turned-Autobot. Ties into what I'd heard about his design originally being for a Decepticon, but used for an Autobot. Plus with Starscream and Soundwave, I guess it sorta semi-evens the odds for the 'Bots to have even one flyer...

Well, according to the USA Today article, he might even steal some of Bumblebee's thunder as a source of comic relief - the TFs were a bit clumsy (an understatement seeing how they thoroughly trashed the Witwickys' garden) in the first movie...but a geriatric TF that also transforms into a SR71? Now, I demand to see that at once.

BTW, for those who still don't know, the movie's worldwide release date is the 24th of June, with Japan being a tad earlier than the other countries.

it will be interesting to see jetfire's fighting style since its confirmed he will be holding a "cane" maybe he will be like a yoda type who can summon a crapload of strength and savagery when he absolutely needs to plus theres a good chance that he can combine with optimus prime i just cant wait to see some decpecticon pwnage, this looks to be "the empire strikes back" of the transformers series, with The FALLEN playing the darth vader role

It will be interesting to see if Revenge can become Transformers "Empire." I think that it can, and that it should be. There are enough Decepticon triumphs through Transformers history that this could indeed become one. The Transformers War Within: The Age of Wrath was on track to exploe this until Dreamwave went under, which is too bad because that was starting to get good.
Currently IDW's "All Hail Megatron" is doing this as well, and the had done it in their Megatron:Origin series as well. Personally I'm hoping that Prime and Sam and/or Mikala (sp?) buy it in this one. And that it all goes down due to some Decepticon treachery and deceit.

I doubt we can do away with the meatbags, since that still gives you some modicum of a link to other viewers than mecha fans. I hazard the guess that if Transformers was only about robots, the target-audience would invariably shrink.

Well, if he's going to use his cane (which you can catch a glimpse of in the extended trailer, when Scorponok jumps out of the sand dune), I hope he won't use it to 'tame' Ravage or Scorponok with a couple knocks on the ground or on the head. "Down, boy! SIT! SIT!"

If he does that, I'll really bust a gut.

Seen the trailer a few weeks ago, can't wait for it to hit DVD or better, Blu-ray. (even though I have the first movie on DVD and yet to watch it) Sideways as a Audi R8? Nice.

Why did they change Hook's name to Hightower? Isn't Rampage technically a Predacon (G1 Decepticons sub-group)? And I thought Bonecrusher was originally a Constructicon (not to mention the original Constructicons consisted of 6 members)...
