Question about God gundam's design

*Yes I know G Gundam is a Super Robot series but the designs are still detailed*

You know how the back of the legs sometimes open up for special attacks? well what exactly do they do? because there have been times when he used God finger and sekiha tenkyoken without them opening. Are they a part of the god gundam turning hyper/super mode or what?

They were supplimental thrusters IIRC

I think so too.. but in the G Gundam evolve episode they seemed to absorb energy for firing the god finger, Maybe the people making the G Gundam Evolve episode just got it wrong?

Well, After studying some of the episodes of G Gundam abit I think you were right the first time. They're supplimental boosters. Episode 28 proves this. I've also watched a few other clips to prove this too. Those supplimental boosters seem to not have anything to do with his actual special attacks.

Also in the actual series, I do not remember seeing or having anything mentioned for them being anything about absorbing energy.
