you may wanna get rid of all the IMG tags and just post the links, there is a rule against posting the images as you have them ;)

Anyways, i like it for the most part, except it saying Amuro ray all over it and the funky shape of the backpack. But the backpack seems to be directly connected to the front yellow vents. And are those extra sabers in the shield?

Screams SEED to me for some reason. Overall I like it, but the head looks a bit off, especially with the antennas.

I dunno. The limbs' width in relation to the torso reminds me of an EVA.

I'd say pretty much everything about the conversion kit is off, IMO. The lineart wasn't this cluttered.

And oh, are we talking about the design, or the conversion kit? Totally different matters.

It is kind of close to the lineart of the design. It seems to have some Katoki inspirations added to the design. Other then that it's another classic case (which I hate) of jam as many decals you can onto one design.

I didn't like the new look of the Evolve ver; and to an extend this model as well. It just doesn't seem to have the boxy and single piece look of the original. I expecially dislike how this design had the vents be detached from the chest section. It kinda of looks nice in a mechanical sense, but not good for a Gundam.

Sorry I haven't replied in a bit.

The backstory of this new design was that they wanetd the old RX-78-2 to reflect the current Gundam mecha designs. In this case, as you said, Gundam SEED.

I don't see the head being off, though. I've seen the lineart and it's right on.

I don't think so. I have seen Evolve 15 (pretty good BTW) and what I watched is what I'm saw in this pics.

Either or. We could've been talking about the design, but that had been done. Now, with the pics of the model kit, we can see this thing more clearly than the lineart ever gave us.

Hmm, while we don't see how this works in Evolve 15, from the design here I saw that ejection process to launch the core fighter similar to the GP01. Where the torso section was placed on the core fighter, and the fighter had the packpack in its design. I saw it similar to this.

It doesn't scream Seed to me... In fact, more 00......

Strangly enough there is a mystery Gundam that resembles the RX-78's basic shape.... coincidence?

Probably.

I compared the new model with pictures of the old one and came to the conclusion that... All the changes are marely superficial... The torso and groin areas mostly, and the new model seems more... Puffed? Maybe "Hightechy" is the work I'm looking for...

But these are really nice pics^^

SOOOOOO HOT.
WANT TO TOUCH THE HEINEY.

AROOOOOO-OOO!!!

PS: wouldn't this belong in the Modeling sub-forum???

Mod Edit (Red): The design is being discussed, not a model kit, so no, it belongs right here.

deathpony edit (white): Oh, ok.

^_^

Mod Edit (Red): Horrid joke, DP. Just plain horrid. :P

I see no correlation whatsoever between this thing and any unit ever in Seed. frankly. It looks modern as heck, but it looks better IMO than anything Seed ever had to offer.
The only remote similarity I see is that the rifle has a vaguely similar design to the Duel's (boxy, sort of), only it lacks the 175mm rocket-propelled grenade.
And I love the rifle design.

Two extra sabers? SWEEEET.

it's a radical change, but i think it looks nice though. it's a bit the lovechild of Strike (overall design), MKII (especially the backpack) and providence (mainly the chest)
