This is the only "evidence I can offer as to the capacity of the Irish.
-Saegusa states in ep 26 (or thereabouts) that the capacity of the Radish has been increased (I'm not sure how they did so, guess they just worked out how to more efficiently use hangar space). Because of this, the Irish would have two capacities, one before and after this change.
-Prior to this statement, the Radish seems to carry the Hyaku Shiki and 3 Nemos (or one team), which is based upon the few battles it has prior to #26.
-In later episodes, when the Argama and Radish conduct joint operations, I counted 19-20 MS in the area, and since the Argama seemed to be carrying 12 at this stage that would leave 7-8 for the Radish.
-My opinion then, is that the capacity was originally 4, and it was later discovered they could fit 8 into the hangar.
