Dom designation numbers

If the Doms that we know and love since 1979 are called MS-09Bs, which one was the MS-09A?

Re: Dom designation numbers

Well, long ago somebody (i.e. myself) speculated that the MS-09A could have been the pre-production model assigned to the Black Tri-Stars.
However, quoting toysdream from the very first page of this thread
Dom: The Dowadge kit manual does identify the standard production version of the Dom as the MS-09B, but as far as I can tell it doesn't address the question of the Black Tri-Stars, and color decorations aside there's no obvious reason to think their machines are different from the regular ones. If the identity of the MS-09A is a mystery, it seems just as likely to me that this is a limited-production version of the Prototype Dom, which--given the large number of Tropical Test Types and Dom Cannons in circulation--must have undergone some extra production along the way.
